Great program for reading. My second grader loves to go. By the time we realized he was struggling with reading, he was over a year behind. He has made significant gains, which has increased his confidence and desire to read. It is well worth the money.

My daughter is in third grade. After her initial assessment, it was found she was 1/2 of a grade behind in reading and math. Within weeks of attending Sylvan Learning Center, my daughters attitude toward school changed completely. She now chooses to read versus someone telling her she has to. Just last week, she read a third grade level book start to finish without stopping or getting frustrated during the middle of it. And she bought something with her own money and counted out the correct change to purchase. I cant say enough about the staff and how caring, and compassionate they are about seeing their students succeed. Thank you!

My 15year old daughter was recently diagnosed with dyslexia. Sylvan did a full evaluation to determine her academic needs. She has been doing homework recovery this year. My 4th grade daughter has been attending Sylvan for the past 8 months for help with math. The experience has been wonderful. The evaluation was very helpful and conversations with both parents so we could also add context. Our daughter does not respond well at all to mom and dad trying to help with homework or to teach a concept, and with new teaching methods of Common Core, we sometimes confused her more. All of the tutors have been great. My biggest complement is to the entire teaching staff and the on going conferences. We were able to hone in on methods and tutors that matched my daughters personality and approach to learning. They constantly took feedback to continuously improve. The tutor my daughter has now is a PERFECT fit and I see her confidence excelling, her ability to ask questions is a huge improvement. Highly recommend Sylvan, this location, and these teachers. They seem to have my sons best interest at heart. We are just getting started but so far have been great to work with and listen to my assessment as a parent to develop a plan for him. We have had a great experience so far. This is our first summer just to try and keep the kids engaged so they are ready for next year. They have nice incentives, a large variety, which makes it easier for the kids to go too. You set the schedule and there is no additional homework! So far, so good!

We have 2 boys that have been attending Sylvan Learning Center since April. They both have made great gains in the areas where they were struggling. Both of my children have attended Sylvan for tutoring. The staff are amazing and welcoming. My kids look forward to going to their sessions. The summer sessions were critical to setting my oldest up for success in fourth grade. My first grader went there after struggling with reading. The testing and teaching they provided to her has given her the confidence to read more and tools to overcome her dyslexia issues.

Im so pleased with Sylvan with all the efforts they have done with my son. They have not only helped him read but have figured out the best way to teach him. My son has done tremendous with the help from Sylvan. He had some issues with reading and the title teacher for reading wanted to diagnose him with something to explain why he wasnt doing well reading. We went to Sylvan for an assessment as we didnt believe in their diagnosis and Sylvan helped him to overcome his reading issues by going back and relearning what he had not grasped previously. He is almost done now and feels much more confident in his reading and has even learned how to slow himself down and focus on what he is doing better. One of my favorite things they told me was that at Sylvan they were not there to diagnose my son, they were there to help him overcome any issues he was having so he could be the best student that he could be. Thank you so much for all your help! It was the best decision we made for him.

Sylvan has really helped me get through math and they have a really great way of teaching. They usually have three kids working with one teacher and they are always the same grade as you so you never feel uncomfortable. I recommend it to any student that needs help.

My 8 yr. old son has struggled with reading since day 1. After a month of seeing a huge decline in his attitude and overall happiness, I visited with his teachers and discovered numerous issues at the school that were bothering him. At the end of last school year, I got a phone call from my childs school. They informed me that my child was a full school year behind in reading and that they would like to put him in special education for reading when school resumed following summer break.This was something I really did not want, as he is a twin and I would like to avoid the inevitable conversation that would follow if they figured out they were on different levels of reading. You know how kids are, Im smarter than you are! Im sure theyll do it anyway, but at the time, I promised myself I would work with my child all summer to get him up to speed.I spent the first couple of days frustrated because he would shut down the second he came upon something that was difficult. I tried many, many different ways to get him to read, do sight words, or any other reading activity, but nothing was working. The only thing we were accomplishing was both of us becoming frustrated.So I checked out Sylvan. They were quick to get us in for a consultation and quick to let me know what could be worked on. I was a bit skeptical, but like I said, I was desperate. I decided to go for it.And Im glad I did.Sometimes I sneak in early to watch him and I almost cant believe its the same kid. He sits at the table and his face is bright with enthusiasm and every time he gets in the car after I pick him up, he excitedly tells me about all the stuff he has learned.The biggest thing that Sylvan is giving my son is confidence. The biggest thing Sylvan is giving me is relief. My son is set on track to be where he needs to be when school starts. Not only is he making up for lost time, he will have bypassed that summer learning loss that so many kids go through because he has kept up on his reading all summer long.I would highly recommend Sylvan for any who want to give their kid a boost. I dont know how Sylvan does it, but they have given my son a joy for learning and Im really happy with my decision to enroll him. Its probably the smartest investment Ill ever make.

He was able to raise his Math and Reading scores by four points and his English and Science scores by 9 points, with an overall boost to his composite ACT score of 6 points!
