SE does a good job sharpening knives but, it took six weeks to get them back.I brought my knives a year from last October and Albert asked me if I bought them from him. One I did so, he said the sharpening was complimentary on that one. The other I bought from Amazon.Today, I picked up the same knives and was charged for both. Albert told me Im a businessman and Ive never sold these knives, implying that I was lying. Maybe he wears his mask too long during the day and gets hypoxic from breathing his own CO2 but, I know where I bought the knife in question. He knows knives but, not customer service. Dont buy his knives if you expect him to stand behind his guarantee.
Albert and his team did an excellent job restoring the edge on two pieces, the first a Jordanian dagger given to me as a gift, the second a hatchet passed down by my father - super friendly, very passionate about his craft, and more than happy to chat with you about bladework! Ill definitely be returning to him for all my sharpening needs in the future.
Got 3 knives sharpened, just as good as new ( some better than new)Bout 1.5 months to get them sharpened. Loaner knife they give you in the meantime works just fine.
Albert is one of the nicest knife sharpeners Ive ever met, please be nice to him in return! He also puts a stinky-sharp edge on knives and razors, does a great job thinning, just overall very knowledgeable. Thanks for fixing up my mistakes when I make them.
Wonderfully informative and helpful. Highly recommend.
Going to Give this place a try this weekend will update star rating as needed.
Great place. Friendly, did what they said they would do competently. My two nice global knives could barely cut through soft fruit and now they literally seem as good as new. Some lovely knives on display too. I’ll be back.
Took in my 3 global chefs knifes and my mercer boning knife that were so dull Id have to score the object first just to cut through them. Now they are all razer sharp making it easy to fillet fish again.Life is good cooking again.
Sharp knives make for safe cooking. When we moved to Seattle, we found Seattle Edge -- the best customer service, an excellent selection of knives for sale. Most importantly, they know what theyre doing on both cheaper knives and the most expensive. Trust them. You will enjoy cooking so much more.
Thanks to Seattle Edge my knives are good as new, arguably better than new! A dull knife is a dangerous knife. Reasonable prices + loaner knives on a first-come first-serve basis.
This shop is great! Real nice folks who are super communicative about their knowledge and experience but also make sure to listen so you get what you want and need. They sharpened and re-tipped my Kabar BEAUTIFULLY and at a very reasonable price. I wish I needed more nice work done just so I could stop in again. Definitely hit them up for knife knowledge and work.
Albert is awesome. He took my chef knife to a level I never knew possible. And it was super affordable to do so. He very obviously loves what he does and stands behind his work with pride. Will do all of my future sharpening with him, hands down.
Seattle Edge eat, drink, sleep, and breath knife sharpening! They are my ultimate authority on knife sharpening in town. Cost me only $13 to sharpen my Generic 6 in Santoku kitchen knife to a razors sharp edge. Ask them any question on knives they are a wealth of knowledge. They sharpen pruning shears, and lawn mower blades too! Thanks guys for all your help!
Best knife sharpener in town. Cannot recommend enough. Sharpened our Wusthoff knives to perfection.
If you like sharp knives this is the place to be. I have been blown away with the knowledge and the knives they have here. They have knives Ive never heard of or seen! My knives have never been sharper as well! Glad I came in, would always recommend them!
You do not know what sharp is until youve seen what Albert from Seattle Edge can do. His edges far surpass anything Ive ever seen come from a factory, polished to an absolute mirror finish. You wont even feel tomato skins, your knife will glide through like nothing is there. Once you get used to it you wont ever want to touch a dull knife again.
Incredible. I had to part with my knives for a few days and they came back scary-sharp. Very courteous service, and a knife-honing tutorial on pickup just because I asked about it. I highly recommend this place.
Nothing but good things to say about seattle edge. The owner Albert is an amazing and sweet man always helpful and always kind. The apprentice I know Aaron is always quick to try and help you find the right knife for your situation! Me and my boyfriend got as a gift from a friend the Mercer Culinary 7 santoku and 5 utility for our kitchen and we LOVE them! Nothing bad to say about this wonderful shop with wonderful people.
We have trusted Albert for years with our knives and he has always given them the edge they deserve. Wonderful craftsmanship and outstanding service.
Brilliant! He did such a good job on the first three knives I found everything in the house with an edge and had them all sharpened here. This included a rusted cleaver from the late 1930s, which he returned razor sharp and brightly polished.
Albert ripped me off!!!... I brought my knives in to be sharpened before I went to Alaska for the summer to work. Albert wasnt able to finish one of my knives in time, but said he would ship it to me. I went ahead and paid for the sharpening and the shipping cost to send it. Three weeks later I called to see the status of my knife and left a message....no reply... I waited another two weeks and called again....no reply.. Waited one more week and called again...still no reply... I called again today ( almost two months now)and still no call back. Hey Albert.... Where is my knife???.... Is this how you do business ???....
Fabulous customer service and services at this small business . I highly recommend them!
We had an expensive set of Tojiro Flash Japanese knives that had dull and rolled edges as well as a small chip in one blade. Albert used traditional Japanese whetstones up to 8,000 grit to restore these knives to better-than-new with a gleaming mirror-finish on each blade edge. Now our knives are sharper and will hold their edge even better than when they were new! Hes a master craftsperson who takes pride in his work and sharing knowledge about knives and sharpening techniques. We recommend him without hesitation.
Took all of my hunting knives to this shop after reading several reviews. What great professional and personal service. Now Im having everything sharped and Im telling all my friends.
Albert was great, and he provided a lot of information/education regarding my blade and maintenance. Highly recommend for care of expensive blades!
Hattori Hanzo died two days before Christmas, nearly 425 years ago. Yet, the spirit of his renowned blade skills lives on in the breast (and considerable talents) of Albert, proprietor of Seattle Edge. The knives we took him required great force to cut through soft peaches. When I picked them up, I inadvertently dropped one on the floor, and the blade--using only gravitys assistance--proceeded to cut its way to the earths core.I am certain it would have proceeded to finish the job, by splitting the earth in half. However, the heat from the core was too much to hope that the chemical makeup if the steel could remain assembled under such duress. One can go their entire life without meeting a person who is legitimately the very best at whatever it is they do.Albert has relieved me of such worries.Bring your knives here, and see them cut and slice as they never have before.
