I went to Kevin years ago (2011?) to repair a valuable vintage Hohner synth that I knew nothing about when I got it. Not only did he help me learn, but carefully installed a modern amp out jack while repairing its fragile copper circuitry for a very fair price. Id gladly take my next synth here!

Kevin quickly and professionally handled an emergency repair on my Korg Triton, 2 days before an important show. The usual repair shops were ridiculously booked out, then Thunder Road guitars referred me to Kevin. He saved the day, at a reasonable price, and was a nice guy to boot! Kevin took advantage of a 17 year old that had little knowledge about his amp. fixed it for $400+ and when he returned it to me it worked for about a week then failed. My 1961 tube amp receiver went kaput. To make sure I didnt misplace any parts or disconnect it improperly (it was built into a wood cabinet) he made a house call to professionally extract the relic. While the culprit was probably just a blown tube, Kevin also took the time to clean the entire unit, balance the output and just give it the TLC that an old receiver needs to continue to produce killer sound. The first test upon bringing it home was playing Voodoo Child (Slight Return) on vinyl. WOW! The room came alive and the warmth of the sound was explosive. So worth it to have this work done on its own. Solid has also repaired a Wah pedal for me, a Line6 Delay Pedal, and is always available with advice and suggestions. It is important for musicians to keep businesses like Solid alive and well. We would be in a tough place without them.
