The environment alone feels like I could live there. The stylists are each their own fantastic. Holly is my primary and the is perfect, cut is perfect every time. Everyone friendly, easy to get along with long as you bring the same energy. Theyre very flexible and understanding. Theyll work with you, just tell em what you need. I stopped by Windy’s because my regular barber was booked up. Virgina cut my hair; she was very sociable and talented. She had a very similar style of cutting to my regular barber and was able to recreate my usual cut with no issue whatsoever. I can be quite picky about my hair, but this place blew me away, not to mention the lovely atmosphere and classic barbershop vibe.

I’ve been going to see Windy every 3 weeks for 5+ yrs now. Her and all of the barbers that work there are consultative, purposeful and fun. But best of all they give sick cuts you’ll be proud of. Like walk down the street and people comment on your hair kind of proud. Windy keeps notes on our conversations about what we want to try next, what’s working and what’s not, so I know that we’re always on the same page. Best of all she fixes the cuts from those other barber shops you’ve tried and hated.

I went here five times and had mixed results - a few excellent cuts and one so bad I came back to have it touched up. What is especially disappointing about this place is Windy’s poor communication skills. She’s difficult to make an appointment with. she takes days to get back to her clients (one time I didn’t hear back from her at all). Also, she tried to sell me things I wasn’t interested in multiple times. She can’t take a hint and dominates conversation. Done with this place.

Ive been growing out my hair during quarantine but have been anxious to go into a barber since I am fairly soft-spoken and dont always feel like Ive been listened to. My experience at Windys has hands-down been the best experience I had anywhere and this is easily the happiest Ive ever been with a haircut.I texted to make an appointment (which is a very nice option to have) and they managed to fit me in during the same day. They also asked what kind of haircut I wanted before I ever set foot in the shop so they could pair me with a compatible barber which was something I have never had happen before and was also lovely.I arrived and was quickly and very politely checked-in with my temp being taken and was also given gloves. I was paired with Holly who was not only extremely friendly and skillful, but also was a very good listener and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted and even checked in with me at several points before going forward.The vibe of the shop was very casual and friendly and I was extremely comfortable throughout my visit.I will absolutely be back and will definitely go with Holly again.I cannot recommend this place enough and I will be suggesting here to all my friends.

I had the absolute pleasure and the rockstar outcome of a custom balayage and cut by Virginia at Windys in Ballard. Virginia took the time to walk me through the process, select a color tone pattern and then execute a multidimensional balayage masterpiece -- this blonde and cut are literally the best I have ever had. Balayage is no joke -- its an advanced color process which ditches the foils and root lines for a sun kissed hand-painted look (because the entire thing is an art -- and IS hand-painted) -- I could not be happier. Virginia is a pro, so much fun to hang out in her chair (even though we have to be faces covered, latex gloves, and temp checked) she made the process just as awesome and very safe and comfortable. She will be doing all of my dye jobs in the future. :)) *knockout status*

It has been great to see this hard working couple open up the Lounge and go from a few customers to full-on just about booking-only.The Lounge is a great testament to the vibe of the roots of Seattle, which seems to be so quickly evaporating in many business environments. I love getting my hair done here. Ive been going here regularly for over a year. Windy cuts and colors my hair. The staff is super friendly, and they really listen to what you want and help you achieve the look that looks and feels best on you. Very nice people but not a satisfactory haircut. Barber had to ask someone else to put in the hard part, didnt shave it in, no back of the neck shave and instead of using scissors they used a plastic guard and just ran it over the top. Cut was 40 dollars w tip.

Both of my kids have been seeing windy for years and have never had a bad haircut. I’ve never met anyone who is more attention to detail. She’s pretty amazing at taming cowlicks and training the kids’ hair to go to one side versus straight down their foreheads through the haircut.Also she’s a great conversationalist and my kids really enjoy talking to her.

Finding a really good barber is hard to find anywhere. Windy and her staff have been cutting my hair for over 4 years now and I’ve never ever had a bad experience. It’s a real close knit group they have there and conversations with everyone are always pleasant. My favorite thing about this place is that Windy will never let anyone leave with a bad haircut - whether she cuts it or not, she will make it work and ensure the customer is happy.

Windy chopped all my hair off the first week of January and has been helping me maintain my new look ever since! I was looking for a barber shop that would really listen to what I wanted (not give me something more feminine than what I wanted) and Windy gave me the exact cut I asked for. The whole staff is wonderful and welcoming. I always have a great conversation and hear a fun story from Windy. I love that I can text the shop rather than call to schedule an appointment, and if theyre running a little behind, they always text me a heads up so it doesnt throw my day off. A free beer and cute pup to look at the whole time too? Those are the cherries on top!

Ive been coming here for about a year and always have a good experience and good haircut. Its less expensive than other places in the area, and they spend as much time as needed to get your hair looking good. The vibe is very chill and conversation fun. I usually have to call a week in advance to get an appt during peak hours as they get booked up.

Ive been going to Windys for 6 months or more now and I love it. Before this I spent about $100 a haircut downtown and I feel like my cut here is just as good for a third of the price. Ive had cuts from all 3 barbers currently working there and theyve all done a fantastic job so if you cant get in to see Windy both Marie and Brooke are great as well.One of my favorite parts about this place outside of their skill cutting hair is how welcome they make you feel while youre there. They offer you a drink when you walk in the door and have video games and magazines to occupy you while you wait. While youre getting your haircut the conversation feels real because they listen to you so it isnt just an occupy the time conversation that you get at some other places. Plus if youre looking for tips with what to do with your hair theyre great for that as well.If youre looking for a great haircut from people who care about their customers then Windys is your place.

Ive been getting my cuts from Windy for over three years, have referred numerous friends to her, and have simply never had a better barber. Ever. Anywhere. I would think twice about moving from Seattle because I wouldnt be able to go to her for haircuts. Shes tended to my hair at every length from a buzz cut to a ponytail and Ive never walked out dissatisfied.Reasonable rates, relaxed atmosphere, dog and kid friendly, parking out front and in the back, drinks while you wait for your appointment, there is nothing not to love about the place.

Cool hair boutique. Nice and cozy without undue pomp and circumstance like some other unnamed hip boutiques. If I theres any complaint, its that booking an appointment needs to be done a week in advance. But, just goes to show that business is good, eh?

Windy is an extremely knowledgeable, talented and conscientious stylist. On my first visit, Windy recognized me from another Barber shop in Wallingford, which I patronized for many years. Even though Windy was not my regular stylist previously, she remembered me and knew the particularities of my hair. She stopped what she was doing to carefully advise the stylist who was cutting my hair. I was very impressed by this. What she did seemed minor at the time, but when I got home I saw my old haircut that I had missed since my old stylist moved away. Thanks Windy! I will be back.

My hair isnt easy to cut. Most any barber or stylist can make it look good at the shop, but Ive come across only a few that could cut it so that it looks good for 4-6 weeks. WIndys one of those select few. Her talent is incomparable, and she delivers every time. I often stop by to tip her again, 2, 3, 4 weeks out, because my hair looks great for at least a month after she cuts it. I dont know past that because I see her monthly. :-D

Went in for a beard trim. The staff was nice and Im happy with the trim I got. They ever offered me a cold Ranier! Coffee, water, and other things too, but the idea of a Ranier with my beard trim was a nice touch.

Like most great spots, I found out about this place from a friend who had been a regular of Windys for years. My mom and I were in a bit of a pinch with a ceremony to attend the next day. Windy fixed my moms hair super fancy (She had been sweating it.) and then made my hair look better than it ever has. Now Im a regular too. You will want to call a day or two in advance, especially if the weekend is coming up. Well worth the trip!
