I would like to take a moment to show our gratitude to nafeso Nuur for expediting with my moms Emirates flight from seatac airport to Dubai .I highly recommend that nafeso gets promoted and recognized by the management for her exceptional customer service and friendliness.
Booked ticket 2 weeks in advance, went to airport to catch the flight and was told there is problem with clearance from Dubai, wouldn’t refund. How an airline issue a ticket and take your money and not let you know that you can’t travel. Big scam. Buyer be aware.
Refusal to refund seat reservation fees within 24 hours of bookingWe had to scramble to rebook award flights in early Sept due to the strike by pilots at British Airways. We got a new flight to our destination on Emirates but ended up finding a better option less than 24 hours later. We had paid for our seat selection when we made the reservation presuming we could cancel it within 24 hours, like pretty much every other airline does. Usually as long as the flight is at least 7 days or further out. Not Emirates. Their fine print says non refundable. My bad for not reading but what a cruddy policy. So well end up paying them $166 US for the privilege of reserving seats we will not be sitting in. Nice scam to rip travelers off...
Quality airline. Prices are on the higher side but value for money.
Good food, good service and everyone is nice always I have funny with Emirates this is going to be my 3 times, Im still weigh for my card from you guys so I can ghet my discount.
Emirates is becoming worse and worse, I was travelling with my 5 months old baby. I had made reservation directly with emirates to avoid last minute surprises, yet I in reservation itself , the rep made separate booking so I did not have confirmed seat and he could not do any thing after I realized I did not have seat next our baby. 1st Worst experience OK , before the journey I called several time about my luggage can I carry TV as one piece, they confirmed and have all over that web stating that Is fine as long as its less than 55 in.So I had TV that is 47 in and with packing its 53 in. On the day of journey the lady at the counter @seattle airport says It is total W*H*L all inclusive 55 inc and she said they would charge 275$ for excess luggage. 2nd Worst experience. I had less packed in check in and couple LB more in carry on since we were travelling with baby (all the food, clothes, medicines ,toys, sheets etc) overall I was taking allowed limit not extra. But she insisted to remove all the stuff from carry to check in. Worst flight. I was travelling since 2001-my first flight, service is deteriorating and no empathy or consideration such a devilish and arrogant.
Unfortunately I couldn’t give a negative 5 star. As a US Citizen, having travelled extensively around the world to over ~25 countries, in ALL Airlines and all classes, my Emirates travel experience this timeby far is the WORST. I was traveling with my family from Seattle to Nairobi yesterday and the duty Manager “Sykes Thomas” at the boarding area notJust ruined our family’s experience but surely harassed and discriminated us beyond imagination. We are a very light travelers and with four of us together we could have checked in a total of 8 bags. We just checked in 3 bags and just had 3 small carry Ons that fit every possible guideline that Emirates or even a local small airline impose (Samsonite carryon bag bought from Costco). Since I already checked in all the heavy stuff, I had few critical but important Medicines and other personal important documents and stuff that I couldn’t check in along with my change clothes since I have a long overnight layover in Dubai. As we were boarding on to our flight, Sykes Thomas pulls us over for no reason randomly and asks us to check in our bag. I explained to him about the long layover, how light we travel (that I didn’t even avail the 5 more free checkins I could have made) and told him about the important medications/personal items I need for my long layover in Dubai. He was very adamant and came across as threatening and heavy handed to force us to check in the bag. I requested to explain to me on why me when I’m following all guidelines where I could have even got in more carry Ons with me with four of us together, he gave size as the lame excuse and not weight in the matter. It’s a standard size Samsonite carry on every other passenger was carrying with them and I even mentioned it was cleared earlier when they gave the boarding pass and asked him to check again if he wants. His assistant in front if him and my other colleagues from work and family (witness) put the bag in the cage and cleared saying it perfectly fit the size. But Sykes wa so adamant to get my bag checked in and at the last minute I didn’t even have time to take the important medications and personal stuff I need for my family in the long layover in Dubai. I have lodged a formal complaint but an yet to hear back from Emirates. I tried to escalate this in Seatac airport, but UNFORTUNATELY Sykes was the duty manager at that time and I couldn’t escalate it to anyone else. I reported this incident to the Purser and my cabin supervisor and even they were empathetic and couldn’t understand the unempathetic rude behavior exhibited in this case. A pleasant start to our family vacation was ruined totally by Emirates and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to fly Emirates especially out of Seattle if Sykes is going to continue as a Manager. He was not just rude, but he was also discriminatory on how he handled these random picks. While he stopped our family traveling light (based on our race?), he let go of many who were carrying beyond weight and size limitations and am sure would have exhausted the FULL checkin limits. I have escalated this to the SVP of Customer Service and the CEO too and am “hoping” to hear back. I’m extremely worried now because of the important prescribed medications & other items that ended up in the bag because of this and I’m praying nothing bad happens.
