Reed Brothers has taken care of installing and monitoring our home alarm system for almost 28 years, along with new lock installs, re-keying, and spare keys. I had an eviction and they were the only company answering fast same day in minutes and meeting me at the location. They are professional and they keep their word not like other company who fake on me even I was going to pay them extra.

I recommended them to my sister for a security gate they charged her $80 to come out and due a estimate she didnt have a problem with that, then few days go by they said they couldnt handle the job, and didnt refund the $80, I believe thats called a rip off.

Such a happy and positive experience with Juss (#T37A) at Reed Brothers Security. I called Reed Bros at the recommendation of our design build Team and could not be more pleased! Juss was scheduled to arrive the day after I called.My key was no longer working in our 100 yr+ old front door. Juss took a look at it and explained to me what mechanical parts were not longer working and our options for repair. Not only did he replace the cylinder in our primary lock, he rekeyed the deadbolt to match, tightened the hinges on our door and showed me how the door drooped in the middle, and used power tools to file down the door on both sides.I asked Juss to please repair my door like it was the door on his Moms house and he did a terrific job. He explained everything to me and showed me exactly what he was working on. Juss is friendly, courteous, very good natured and polite. A+ experience and honestly, just opening and closing our front door now is so much better! no more slamming, pushing or pulling

I found Reed Brothers on the Diamond Certified list. They did not disappoint. I was booked an appointment quickly and had lock repair service completed by Dan in less than an hour. Professional, pleasant, fair. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Juss arrived at the given time frame. He removed our old front door knob, widened the opening to fit the new knob, cleaned up the wood shavings, installed the replacement knob, keyed the lock to match our keys and made two new keys for us. Juss checked to see if the knob and keys worked. He did a great job and was friendly.

Just after I had put my lasagna in the oven to brown the cheese for 10 minutes or so, I ran downstairs to take out the recycling. When i came back to open my apartment door unrealized it was locked and my keys were inside. It’s 11:00 pm, I have a lasagna in the oven at 350, and I am locked out. I called Reed Brothers and they woke up a e dispatched Juss (#T37A), whom I told about the still-cooking lasagna. He arrived in about 15 minutes, had my door open in a minute, and I rushed in to save my lasagna.Thanks to Juss and Reed Brothers for a very quick deployment and a super-skilled locksmith. The key would not turn to lock my front steel door. Juss arrived 40 minutes after I called. He took the lock out to clean or replace the parts--some were tiny bead-like pieces. The cost was reasonable considering the detailed work and time involved to take out and put back the parts. I appreciated the professional and friendly service I received from Juss and highly recommend him.

My company has spent thousands of dollars at this location and today after buying a cheap $36 trailer lock from them. That broke within two weeks they made me feel like it was my fault and refuse to give me a refund. I will not be doing business with this place again.

NEVER RECOMMENDED. DONT FIX ANYTHING WITH THEM. I have requested for a work on my door because it was not closing properly. They have came in the replaced the door closer back in January and took about 500$ for the cost. The door was doing the same thing, so I called for a fix again, they came in and told me that we need a new frame and new doors after they took apart the door and try to fix it. He said what he do will be only temporary. We agreed, understood paid him for the temporary work. IT ONLY LASTED FOR 1 DAY AND HE CALLS ME LEAVING ME A VOICEMAIL SAYING THAT HE COULDNT DO IT BY HIMSELF SO HE WANTS TO COME IN WITH HIS ASSISTANCE EXPLAINING WITH A COST FOR THAT. ARE YOU SERIOUS? They knew that they didnt do a good job so they called me to come in again, yet they still ask me for another labor fee? I even asked why they are calling me if they have already told me that we need a new door and trying to come in again, the technician was speaking into his own flawed speech. I would never recommend them ever. Even the dispatcher was so rude. When I was trying to explain whats going on, they just said youll get a call from technician and just hung up on me even before I answered. I warn you. Dont get services from them they will just try to rip you off.

The day of my appointment happened to be busy for the lock techs at Reed Brothers, so a tech want able to arrive until 6PM. But even after a long hard day, Juss (#T37) was professional, pleasant, and efficient. He re-keyed 4 locks and additionally devised an impromtu remedy for a security door that was not latching properly. Also the schedulers I spoke with were helpful, courteous, and, today, apologetic for the delays.

THANK YOU so much to the guy with the brown beard that helped me this morning!!! My anti theft single kept blinking and it stopped me from turning my car on. I had been struggling all night to turn the car on. The next day I went early morning to Reeds Brothers thinking that maybe it was the chip in my key. I explained my situation to the guy at the counter and he quickly said he would check the battery in my key. I was waiting on him hoping for the best, I really didn’t want to spend $150 on a key 😩 The guy returned shortly after and said one of the connectors was loose and to try my key again and that it should hopefully work. If it didn’t to return and they would make another key for me. I asked him how much do I owe you?? He said nothing ☺️ I was so thankful to him for helping me! Long story short, we needed some commercial work done and the rep was rude for no reason and seemed as if she was overwhelmed or just didnt want to be at work. Randy is a top notch pro and has a big heart. I was locked out of my house a week ago, and it was really late. He was extremely courteous, profession and got to me quick. That door was open within a minute and without a scratch. If you get locked out, this is the human being to call. Whatever he quotes you, just say yes, dont grumble. Dont listen to googles listing, the store is not open 24 hours a day. They have 24/7 emergency service...like if you lock your keys in your car at 4 am. I could not lock my back door. Before calling Reed brothers, I took the brass plates off, filed any rough edges on the opening for the dead bolt, put everything back together and still could not get the dead bold to seat. Night coming on, and not wanting to go to bed with the house not secure, I bit the bullet and called Reed Brothers, thinking, well here goes a couple hundred bucks.NO WAY! The answering service put me through to Reed Brothers on call technician, Randy or Dave I think, anyway, he had me describe the door, levers, etc and walked me through closing it and trying to lock it. He explained that I had to pull up on the handle in order for the dead bolt to be thrown. Voila! That worked and the door locked. Now, I have had that door for 14 years. I must have been unconsciously moving the lever up but on this occasion for some reason did not, repeatedly. I told the tech guy I must be getting addled. He said, no, he gets lots of calls like that. Thanks Reed Brothers. You are greatly appreciated!

I locked the door with my keys inside. Called Reed Brothers. Their technician, Danny, arrived in about 15 minutes with his handy toolkit. He unlocked the door in about 5 seconds. Danny does magic. Thank you.

Reed Brothers Security. The folks that put a storage room door on backwards in my building without any sort of protection so that thieves could literally open the door with a credit card. It was like not having a door on at all. Folks make mistakes but this was sheer incompetence and should have been obvious to anyone who works in this business.

I was locked out and decided to call these folks because theyre just down the street from me. The locksmith himself was great. However the dispatcher told me that the fee would be $60 plus an additional $37 for it being a Saturday call (which seems expensive, but theyre in the neighborhood so I thought Id go with it). After about 2 whole minutes of work the locksmith informed me the total was $157. Apparently there was a minimum hourly charge, half hour minimum, which came to an additional $60. Which means the hourly charge is $120. What in the world?? Thats a disastrous amount of money to lose for a lot of people. I didnt appreciate not being informed adequately, and really didnt appreciate what seemed like money-grubbing add-on tactics. For 2 minutes of work (Im not exaggerating. It was interesting how quick and rudimentary the work is. Now I know what to do in the future). I wont be using their services again.

I continue to rely on Reed Brothers continually to help take care of apartments that I manage. I can count on them address a problem properly when it is handed to them.

I first met Randy about two years ago and I liked him right away. His business sense and service ideology is similar to that of Nordstrom or Macy. Treat the customer right. The shop is big and they do welded doors as well which is very useful for when people need security doors. The last time I was there they had a customers work truck in the welding shop and they were modifying the body to take new locks. I knew they did high security keys and electronics, but that work was interesting to see.

Unbelievable service from beginning to end. Had a break-in at my home, neighbors recommended I call Reed Brothers, and they came late evening to assess the broken window and door, secured everything for the night and came back the next day to put a security door in and repair everything. It was incredibly reassuring to have such professionalism in our corner after such a violating experience. I wouldnt even consider going anywhere else. They really go the extra mile to make things right and make you feel safe again.

I was locked out of my house at night, when the deadbolt to my front door broke and I didnt have the keys to the back door with me. A locksmith responded to my call and was at my house within 10 minutes. He was very friendly and professional, and had the door open in a couple minutes. I could not have asked for better service. He turned what started out as a terrible night for me, into a pleasant experience. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and will call again if needed!

I was looking to install new security gates on a storefront, and this company wanted to charge $80 for an estimate because of the inconvenience of travelling from Oakland to San Francisco. No thank you. There are plenty of vendors who come will provide free estimates, and they are located much further away than Oakland.

I had a combination lock for a safe that I had lost the combination but could remove the door and expose the lock mechanism which allowed me to see the dials. I was told that it would be $250 to determine the combination. I studied the mechanism and method to reveal the combination by what is known as manipulating the dials so that the gates for each dial (notches) are in alignment. It took me one hour to figure out the combination and how the lock works. An experienced locksmith could have done this in 15 minutes. $250 for 15 minutes work is ridiculous. I could buy a replacement for $120 with a combination on ebay. This company is greedy or doesnt think a person of average intelligence could figure this out, which I did with the help of Youtube videos on the subject.

These guys are great. They took the remote keyfob blank I got on Amazon for a Subaru Outback, and did the laser cut and programming for $25 and $55 respectively. I must have called over 10 dealers and locksmiths before I found them, none would take a 3rd party key, and all wanted about double what I ended up paying.They also rekeyed a deadbolt and another lock to the same key for $15.Service was awesome, the guys I was working with really knew their stuff and were friendly.

I ordered replacement car keys with remote over the Internet. They programmed it and cut the key. Saved me $200 from the dealer.

I read a few other reviews and instantly knew the negative comments were nothing but bogus. Unfortunately, this happens when GREAT companies excel in the business arena. We have used Reed Brothers a few times and received EXCELLENTand may I repeat EXCELLENT service!!Our rental was broken into recently as we returned from out of state. We called Reed Brothers Security and even though it was the end of the day, they sent an employee to our home. Very rude, zero customer skills, impossible to work. Were commercial customer but was impossible make any deal. We found 5 minute later a better provider for our problem for half price.

I WAS really happy until one of my contacts needed replacing. The service rep came out and a job that could of been done in 30 minutes took an hour costing me extra labor fees. Additionally he was going to charge me $75.00 for a part that normally cost $55.00 until my husband questioned it. The final straw was overcharging the sales taxes. Can you say RIP OFF? The owner elected to lose a customer rather than satisfy one.PS Reed can put any kind of spin on this they want. Facts are facts. The service rep could have and should done this job in a half hour. He wasted a lot of time doing nothing in his truck. He would have charged us $75.00 for a $55.00 part until WE questioned it. THEN he called to check on the price. He DID over charge us on the tax. To refund me $.55 when the right thing to do was refund $62.00 is a slap in the face. BEWARE, if you use Reed double check your bill, if they overcharged me on time, parts, and tax they could be overcharging YOU!

Multiple good experiences with the retail end of business. Unfortunately hours posted on Google are incorrect. The store isnt open 24 hours, so youll just need to call, since Google declined to post the actual store hours that I tried to update.

They quickly and cheaply re-keyed a CES (Euro profile?) lock cylinder, which I guess is uncommon, because another locksmith refused to attempt it. I couldnt be happier!

Biggest waste of $120 Ive ever spent. My very complicated front door lock was binding up. A nice man came to my house, man-handled my door open, sprayed $0.20 worth of grease on the mechanism, couldnt figure out what happened to cause it to bind, and left. I knew it was $60 just to walk through my door and $120 minimum, but come on....I would never feel comfortable charging someone $120 for 5 min of time and not diagnosing the problem. $60 would have been fine, since he did drive all of 3 blocks to my house... but he did absolutely nothing for me, thought he might cut a neighbor a break on charging the full $120?! Pretty disappointed.

Reed Brothers has always been there for me, whether the need is personal or connected with my church (I am a member of the Trustees Board). Railings, padlocks, keys, or whatever else is needed, this company has always been available - service is immediate and courteous.

I have been using reed brothers for years and wouldnt call anyone else for my security . They truely are the best at what they do.

NOT PROFESSIONAL. I spoke on the phone with them to schedule a locksmith, they asked I submit a workorder. I submitted the workorder form via email, it took 48 hours to get a response in which they told me that they do NOT have availability for another week between 11-1. I told them that was ok, and that I would like to schedule it. I called in and spoke to them about scheduling it. I was given rates and was ok with the rates, they wanted additional info and stated they no longer have availability for the earlier given timeframe. An email I send in for service asap isnt responded to for 2 days; then when they give me new availability that I agree to, they state it is no longer available even though I contacted them within the hour to confirm.

I couldnt be more please with my recent experience with Reed Brothers. I have beautiful metal doors with Italian handles and locks tthroughout my house; unfortunately, they are more form than function. Five of our 6 handles/locks were falling apart or broken. Leo was scheduled to be at my house at 8:30am. Unlike almost all service providers, he showed up right on time. The job wasnt easy as the locks were very non-standard. Leo figured things out quickly and finished a job that I assumed would take 3+ hours in 1 hour. He was fast, efficient and friendly. It was a great experience!

Im a tow op manager and pronounced myself as such; I was reffered to them by a college and called to ask about a reach rod and if they had them and they advised me that only registered locksmiths are able to obtain this item, they then said sorry and hung up on me. Terrible customer service. How on earth do tow truck companies get them when they arent registered locksmiths? Would not recomend going through any company that hangs up on potential long term customers.
