I have been a patient of Dr. David Buchan‘s for years. I don’t usually do reviews but felt it was important, at a time when so many people I know are looking for trustworthy, caring, competent health providers, to share what a wonderful experience I have every time I am in his office! The entire staff and he put a patient at ease, creating a warm and comfortable environment. It is also Highly Covid secure & obvious they’ve gone to great measures to ensure a safe environment. I appreciate how they take a personal interest in each patient and provide excellent care! I am really thankful David Buchan DDS is my dentist!

Ive been going to Dr. Buchan for many years. I like him very much because he is welcoming and easy going, knows what he is doing, and has a good sense of humor. I cant imagine going anywhere else. The rest of the staff are also excellent.

I arrived a few minutes early and was taken right back for my appointment. Very professional and super friendly; we love going to the dentist.

We moved here in 2016 and Dr. Buchan has been our dentist ever since. Wouldnt think of going anywhere else.

This is the kindest, most accommodating dentist. Dr. B is just a good guy. You know it the minute you meet him. I adore his hygienist, too! (That’s not something I EVER thought I’d say!!) My children and I are happy to know Dr. Buchan. (Im really, really frightened by dentist. He’s not scary. I promise!)

Very kind extremely patient, and a perfectionist. Told me all my options about what I needed with no pressure at all. They were things I knew were wrong with me so he knew exactly what he was talking about. Have not been to the dentist in five years but will go every year now that I found someone I trust. Love the people who work for him too.

Dr. Buchan and his staff are fantastic - Ive been going to them for over 8 years now, and everyone has always been professional, kind, and attentive. They really do their best to make sure youre as comfortable as possible - especially during difficult procedures (difficult for the patient - Dr. Buchan makes it seems like a walk in the park!) Recently moved to San Clemente from Northern CA. Going through the changes of finding new doctor, dentist, etc. We are so very lucky to have found Dr. David Buchan as our new dentist. As another review stated, his office is more like family than anything else. In fact, the office and staff is strikingly familiar to the dentist office and staff we had in Northern CA for 31 years! If anyone is looking for a dentist and staff that cares about their patients first, go to Dr. David Buchan! It will be a great experience.

Im so glad I switched to Dr. Buchan. On my initial visit, he gave me a very thorough exam, looking at all the little details pertaining to my teeth and xrays. I was pleased to get a solution to the chronic pain Ive been having between a couple of my molars that my other dentist kept glossing over. I also love my new hygienist Danika(sp?). She does a thorough job, didnt judge me for my tartar build-up (ha!), and is very enjoyable to talk with, when her cleaning instruments arent in my mouth that is. :)

Dr. Buchan is outstanding! I had visited his office for a second opinion on multiple cavities I was told needed work by another dentists office. Dr. Buchans opinion was that only a few of the said teeth needed to dealt with more quickly and the other teeth will not need as dramatic or expensive work as stated by the previous dental office. He gave me a strait forward answer and kept my best interests in front instead of giving me a more dramatic diagnosis like my previous dentistry office. I really appreciated his authenticity and professionalism in the matter. Something that is rare to find, when most people are concerned with just making more money from you! Besides the actual service Dr. Buchan himself is a joy to work with. He has a great up beat attitude and you can tell he has genuine passion for his work and keeping his clients happy, which is very refreshing in the dental industry! I would recommend him to anyone and I know I will be going to his office from now on!

Best Dentist Ive ever had having lived in 8 different metros. Whether its a root canal or just a check up, this is the doctor and staff you want looking at and working on your teeth. 5 stars is not enough as all Dr. Buchans patients would agree undoubtedly. Thank you Doc and Team Buchan!

Dr. Buchan has been our family dentist since he started his practice here. Lets be honest, when you are looking for a dentist he not only has to do good work, but you want him to do it with as little discomfort as possible, and Dr. Buchan gets top scores on both counts. He also has a friendly and capable staff: the front office, the hygienists and everyone. And he will send you a nice Christmas card, too!

After moving to San Clemente about a year ago, it was time to find a dentist after going the same one for the past 20 years up in Lake Arrowhead. I was a bit nervous about finding one that I could trust and felt comfortable with, as I am sure most folks are. After doing a lot of searching on the internet and feeling hesitant, I went with Dr. Buchan after receiving a flyer showing a woody with a surfboard toothbrush on top. Being a surfer myself, I figured Id give this guy a try, not to mention he had excellent reviews and was a fellow UCLA Bruin.I must say, Dr. Buchan did not disappoint. I found him to be very personable, detailed, honest, caring, and actually had a great sense of humor, which was quite reassuring. He utilizes up to date technology, and actually gives the novocain time to numb your teeth before the drill starts whirling. That is important. He put a crown on one of my teeth and I must say it was the smoothest and least discomfort I have ever had with crowns. And his front office staff is great! So 5 stars for Dr. Buchan for sure!

I have required a couple of major procedures and he fully explained the procedure to me in advance, and the office staff ran it through my insurance to find my out of pocket cost, so I could be completely informed in both areas before deciding whether to proceed. On the day of my procedures he was extremely gentle and concerned about my comfort, stopping often to see how I was doing and proceeding carefully. I have been completely satisfied with the quality of his work and have never had any problem. His staff is equally as professional, friendly, and always willing to help. They remind me of my small-town childhood dentist office.Lastly, Dr. Buchan goes above and beyond the call of duty. Recently, my son had a tooth injury during a weekend sporting event and, although Dr. Buchan was dealing with his own family crisis that Saturday, he made time to attend to my sons needs. He was able to x-ray and determine the extent of the injury and provide orthodontic advice until we could get in to see our orthodontist that following Monday.Dr. Buchan is genuinely dedicated to his profession and to the best care of his patients.
