We came from Miami and were a little bit scare because of the reviews. However, starting from the pick up was easy and the customer service was outstanding!! We were even given an upgrade without extra charge and the drop off was easy and convenient. Definitely will use them next time we are in San Antonio.

Would have been 5 stars except for two things... 1. The only options I had to modify my reservation was to do it on a computer without talking to an actual person. I didnt get an email confirmation about the cancelation so I am still not 100% that I was successful. The other issue was when I went to the area to pick up my car, there was a problem with the paperwork matching the license plate (some sort of mistake on their end) which took about 20 minutes to resolve, while my party and the others behind us were waiting in the heat.Other than that, however, we were VERY pleased with the company and would certainly consider using them again!

I do not give five star ratings lightly. I’ve now had several great experiences with Sixt. At first I was skeptical dealing with a company who was unknown to me. My fear was being surprised with an under classed vehicle or hit with unreasonable damage charges. Neither have ever turned out to be true concerns. The staff has been really great at both the rental counter and vehicle drop off station. For me, I have found that my overall rental costs are lower with the base price and unlimited mileage. The vehicles have always been beyond my expectations You obviously don’t care about value if you’re not renting from Sixt.

-My personal debit card was charged twice (and the charges have not been reimbursed) for my rental and the actual rental ended up being charged to the company credit card that the original rental reservation was made with.-It took 1-2 hours just to get my rental.-The Sixt employee that was assisting me asked to see my personal bank account on my phone to show that the charges were actually taken out of my account.-I have now returned the rental and I still have not received my money back.-All the different staff I have spoken with that are helping me with the issue do not return my phone calls when they state that they will call me back

1 star because zero stars are not an option. Read the fine print. They stole $215 from me and customer service (if you can get someone on the phone) will tell you to cancel through the website which doesnt work and be rude and hang up on you. They flat out lied to me and stole my money. DONT USE THIS COMPANY!

Updated: They trying to charge me $200 extra for a fully paid car that wasnt used and calling a cancelation fee. I will file a small claims lawsuit. Do not do business with this company.Original:Do not recommend. Booked a rental car from Monday to Saturday with 2 baby car seats. Our flight was delayed and we arrived to the Sixt counter at 6:10. The place closed at 6 (literally every other rental company was open). I contact Sixt on Tuesday, only to be informed that I will be obligated to pay the remaining days + the car seats.Do yourselves a favor and use a more reputable company that wont charge you 7 days for an unused rental for being 10 mins late due to a flight delay.

Will never rent a car here again. First time I used this company and the last. Returned the car with no damage and got a letter a month later saying there was a scratch on the fender and I had to pay 418 dollars. I was in no accident and did not hit anything the few days I had the car. Called the rental place repeatedly, left messages and emails and not one answer or response. Looked at reviews of this company and found tons of the same instances all over the world. Never again.

Avoid this company at all costs.Overcharged on my invoice; the work required to find a contact email or # to address this is ridiculously hard.long story short;1. desired premium large car replaced by base model SUV - still got billed the large car pricing2. declined the additional insurance since my CC covers this - still got charged for the insurance3. 20 pound premium to pick the car up at Terminal 5 Heathrow showed up as a $80 premium on the invoice.Other details - zero help in the return garage as how to return keys -one small box located on the back of a concrete pillar my sons eventually found - no directions back to the terminal - no person in sight who might assist with any questions or concerns - car dash indicated it needed oil every time we started the engine; windshield wipers groaned across the windshield; sideview mirrors failed to open for one stretch of motorway driving so my family acted as lookouts for me; USB charging ports did not work.What a horror show.

The car was great. It was somewhat clean. I was two bags of trash left in the back that they must have forgotten to throw out or didnt see. Other than that, the customer service was great at pick up and at drop off. Thanks for the good experience.

If I could give them zero for communication and follow through I would. We had booked a 7 person SUV for our trip. One day before our rental was to be picked up, I called to let them know we would be later to pick up the vehicle. They confirmed the rental and type of car that was held- then told me they had canceled the reservation- of course they had nothing, no alternatives, no solutions. Needless to say, I rented with an alternative company. They have nice looking cars on their web site, which I booked directly through, but if reservations get randomly canceled then it does not matter. Awful customer communication- and because of this lack of communication, my last minute car rental was over double the cost for a smaller vehicle with a different company.

We originally were trying to rent a mini cooper for our week long road trip, but they didnt have it in stock(no surprise) - they offered this Jeep Gladiator and it worked out perfect for us!! The car was delivered clean and pick up was a breeze! We enjoyed our rental and would book with Sixt again.

Loved this location SO much, especially the employees that helped me. With such an emotional trip coming to San Antonio from Seattle, WA due to my dad passing away.. this location made the process very smooth. We were suppose to rent a car from 2 other companies but they ended up being sold out even with a reservationI wish I knew every employees name I came in contact with but I can only give recognition to Aitiyana who completed our bookingVery beautiful and helpful soul. I have been using Sixt for years But my most recent experience may change my mind. Flew into San Antonio airport and had to wait 45 minutes just to confirm my reservation and get on the way to the car. The car they tried to rent me had razor sharp edges around with a lock on the vehicle where it had been attempted to be broken into. And it’s the type you have to push the lock in to open the door I told them I didn’t want that vehicle. Then had to wait another 30 minutes for another vehicle to be cleaned they were apparently no other vehicles available. It seemed like to me for airport operation The staffing was way too low in the vehicles were not ready. Very disappointed

I reserved and paid online. When I got there not only did they not have the class of vehicle I requested, but they gave me the hardest time while trying to check out at the counter. Telling me they needed a credit card to place a hold. When I gave them one, the lady insisted it had to be chipped. When I told her, you just said a credit card, whats wrong with this one? She proceeded to give me a hard time and call her manager over. Very unprofessional and rude customer service. Will not be using them again.

San Antonio: In the face of absolute belligerent behavior today our sales associate was exemplary. She was patient and tried to be kind and work with a customer who was waiting in line. He jumped the line and started yelling at her in front of everyone- making everyone nervous and uncomfortable. She was great and I hope she gets a great day off after this experience.

I read a lot of reviews and took a chance with Sixt. The customer service at the airport was great. Yes, there’s a $200 deposit upfront. I was given a Chevy Traverse and it was immaculate! Great car! Upon return, the staff again were professional and friendly. Checking the vehicle in took about 3 minutes. I’m so glad I didn’t put too much stock into the negative reviews. This was by far the easiest rental experience I’ve ever had. I would absolutely recommend trying Sixt in San Antonio!

Greatful for finding a company that would have a rental SUV especially during this last ice/snow storm we had and giving us the option to drop of in Houston .... We received a Toyota Highlander which was new and a nice vehicle what was a main safety concern was that as soon as we got on the highway and the wet SNOW was accumulating on our windshield being on a highway was not a great time to find out there is no windshield washer fluid ...Please note-girls at the counter helping out we’re great...This was a safety concern .. I addressed in an email to management and it ended there... The one Way rental rate from San Antonio toHouston airport was like 280-300 dollars ... just bring your own windshield washer fluid ... if you rent from them .. lol 😂

Amazing service from start to finish! Even when booking it was great. I had an issue because my license expired during the COVID outbreak, but luckily after other rental companies (Enterprise, Alamo) turned me away, I found Sixt! Maddie was super helpful when I called to double check that they would accept my license. She said she would leave a note for the agent working that day. Then the agent working that day was so patient with me even though my daughter was crying and being crazy during our check in! They accepted my license without a question and I even got an upgrade because they were out of the original car I requested. The car was a little bit dirty when I got it, but that’s expected with a white car. Return was easy and seamless! Thank you SA Sixt! I’m so happy I went with you guys! You really need to open more locations!

When I arrived at the airport I had problems with my reservation at Alamo rent a Car. I was very stressed with the situation and went to the counter of Sixt Rent a Car where I was attended by a lady named Aitiyana who treated me as a VIP client and solved my problem. It was my first time with Sixt, I was impressed with the good quality of the service. I will choose Sixt for my next trip.

I prepaid for a luxury vehicle with my credit card. I arrive to pick up the vehicle and the young lady verified the credit card I used. She then proceeded to ask for a $1000 deposit. I asked why? You have my license, credit card and personal vehicle insurance. Mind you I just landed in from Dubai so my cards went into fraud mode until I was able to contact my bank to open back up my cards.. the attendant then states well I can give you a cheaper deposit on a lower class car. I agreed but do you think she adjusted the price and gave me the lower rate?? Of course not.To top it off, the vehicle was filthy inside so I spent the next couple of hours properly cleaning and disinfecting every surface inside the vehicle.

I am a SIXT Platinum member. I have enjoy many experiences at various SIXT location through the world. However, at this location the customer service was okay. Its just the lack of vehicles this location currently has on hand. I have traveled through San Antonio International Airport quite a few times within the past 8 months and everytime that only had a few vehicles on hand all sold out every single time.

Horrible customer service. Actually ZERO customer service. Everyone just directs you to the website even for complex problems. They direct you to send them an email which they don’t respond to for 4 days. I had to call SIXT times to finally speak with customer service and then they pull the reps are not helpful, except Judson, he was awesome. The others wouldn’t even give me their name and then just hung up on me. I can’t even get to a supervisor to file a formal complaint because even the automated system is hanging up on me. Never using Sixt again. Don’t use them, their prices are outrageous.

We had absolutely fantastic service from Joley (sp?) at the San Antonio airport rental counter. The computer crashed mid-contract, but Joley and her team worked so tirelessly to make sure we were able to get a vehicle and even gave us a discount for the inconvenience. Customer service won for them in the end! If I travel here again, I’ll be sure to use them.

I was new to Sixt & was booked with them through an online 3rd party. Agent at check in counter was courteous & professional. She didn’t try to strong arm us into extra coverages and respected the choice we made in both vehicle & insurance. Returning the vehicle was just as easygoing. The return agent was cheery & made the check in process actually enjoyable. He even thanked us for the clean condition of the vehicle. Finally, I booked a simple economy car since we only needed it for one day getting around town and was placed in a new (less than 5,000 miles) mid-size with Car Play & Android Auto. I will definitely book with Sixt again & wouldn’t hesitate to rent a nicer class vehicle when the need arises.

Great customer service! Wish I could remember the young ladies name but she was the best, extremely friendly. They didnt have the car we reserved but gave us the free upgrade. Car only had a little over 8,000 miles on it. Drop off I was slightly nervous, no one was there to check it in or inspect it for damage. But I wasnt even home yet when I got the email that everything was good to go. Id definitely use them again.

Impossible to call them you have to contact through Facebook messenger and they typically respond. Uninformed them my flight got rescheduled so I was going to have to pick up car the next day. When I arrived the guy tried giving me a smaller car because they didnt have my car, since I was late. After getting upset and pointing out that I was proactive and informed them I would be late and that one of their customer service reps informed me it would be fine he still tried giving me something smaller. It took quite a bit of back and forth then they finally gave me an acceptable vehicle.Then when I returned the vehicle they charged me an additional $100 saying that taxes had changed DURING my rental???? Shady if you ask me! I will avoid future rental with them as much as possible!

Help. I had to cancel a trip due to COVID pandemic. I was issued a credit voucher. Sixt Agent says the only way to redeem voucher is to literally pay more via Pay Later (vs Pay Now)...and spend more on the same rental. That does not make sense. Very sad experience with Sixt. We prepaid for a luxury Suv in Houston and when we arrived the only car they could offer me for the same price was a regular Suv, Toyota highlander. I had to take it because I needed to be in San Antonio by a certain time.This was not the main issue. The big problem was that the car was defective with stains and scratches both outside and inside that I could not take out even after taking the car twice to the car wash. When I contacted customer service they told me to go to the San Antonio location and promised me they would take care of an exchange. When I arrived at San Antonio we had the exact same issue. No cars available and the car that we wanted could not be given to us due to someone else having reserved it. The same way we reserved it, just that this time they respected their reservation while ignoring ours. We had to leave the San Antonio location after wasting over one hour of our time, still with a defective car which was supposed to be a luxury Suv car. Needless to say we felt cheated and taken advantage of.Due to these events and the numerous negative customer feedback online and elsewhere, it is clear that this company does not care about customer service, has a record of refusing to help its patrons, and has at the very least a strong tendency to cheat, confuse, and take advantage of innocent car renters.

The pick up and rental car was good. Customer service was decent during pick up ONLY. My biggest issue was after I returned the car. I returned my rental in the EXACT same condition as I received it. I actually took the time to wash the car and clean the interior before returning it. The car looked better when I returned it than when I picked it up. A WEEK after I returned the vehicle I get an email from the SIXT claims department stating they noticed new damage to the vehicle. The stated damage was a chip in the windshield on the drivers side. I was immediately incensed because I knew for a fact that chip was on the car prior to my rental. It was even CLEARLY documented on my rental agreement when I picked up the car. I tried to call the actual rental office at San Antonio Airport but no one answered. I called the claims office numerous times until I finally got an answer. I explained the situation and the claims person noticed the previous documentation and apologized for the error. My issue is the person that reported the SOCALLED damage could have easily looked up the rental agreement to see if it existed previously to ensure there was no error. I have read numerous reviews of this happening with SIXT car rental. I was hesitant to rent from SIXT because of this reviews. Now that I have been a VICTIM of it. I will never rent from SIXT car rental again. It is not worth the unnecessary drama. Nice cars but not worth the drama. There are better options.

Do not utilize this foreign Entity! We booked a reservation and had to cancel due to Covid restrictions. This company refuses to issue a refund. We have rented from Hertz prior to Covid and also had to cancel a booking and received a full refund no questions asked! That speaks volumes for what to expect from your choice of rental car companies.

Check-in at the counter was quick and easy but my reserved car was not available. The replacement was fine enough and they gave me a partial refund without hesitation, which I appreciated. I canceled the car the same day I made the reservation because later the same day we learned our trip was canceled. They kept $132.00 out of $218 for a car we never use. American Express did not help either. Airline and Hotel refunded every single dollar. This car company kept $132.00. They are thieves!

Poor customer service. Difficult to reach someone over the phone. Rude billing department person.At time of renting, person at the counter apologized for not having the SUV available (pre paid). Promise me to give me something similar at no charge. Customer service promised me that I was going to get a refund. Called every day. After 5 days calling and trying every single option to reach someone. Finally, I talked to billing department. Very rude lady and not helpful at all. People and service are great. The fact we got a BMW X3 despite booking a Large SUV and not only did we not get a reduction to our rate for the smaller vehicle but also were charged $25 for picking up at 11am instead of 12pm makes zero sense to me. Please note we explained our out bound flight was at noon so wed be dropping the car off at 10am. The company has some work to do. Their agents totally understood our position but their hands were tide. Just imagine yourself in this position on vacation and with a group of golfers or on a family reunion. Dont do it.

My first time using Sixt. Very pleased with the quality of auto and the accompanying price. As an Avis Preferred member, with enough accumulated points for free weekend rentals for two years, Avis messed up my reservation, which is forgivable, but wanted to jack up my rate by nearly $200 to add 1 additional day. Furthermore, I was treated with a condescending attitude by the Avis counter Manager at the San Antonio airport. I went to Sixt for the first time and was surprised by the ease of rental, choice of automobiles AND the price! I downloaded the Sixt App and this will NOT be the last time I choose them!

I was impressed until I ran into a sketchy situation that changed my mind. The way the APP and their System is setup leaves for confusion with the Rental Agreement. In my business the Contract is the Contract and there cannot be more than (1) version nor can there be a version that is revolving or changing. The only change is in the form of an amendment(s). Beware of your rental and walk the vehicle closely to confirm and notate any pre-existing damages. Sixt does not have a protocol for walking the vehicle with renter prior to the rental. If they do it was not done in the multiple rentals I have entered into contract with Sixt for. Lesson learned for me. Expensive vehicle or not, dont take that for granted. Make the time to verify the condition of the vehicle. What I have stated does not discount the fact that the Premium Vehicle are in great/ new condition and at a reasonable rate. Fast and easy rental process which fits my timeline as time is money. I spend a lot of time and money strategically and I have little patience for inefficiencies in protocols that can cost me time or money. (No Attitude, or disgust in my comments, just facts.) I will spend my money elsewhere.

We had a great experience with everyone working in the San Antonio airport branch. No attitude just friendly and willing to help. Perfect car, nothing wrong with it, easy to pickup and friendly staff on the drop off side. AAA+. We got a blind good deal in a rental and we have always rented from another company. So we just went with it and now we will look for them on our next adventure.

Will not I repeat will not use this company again.When I returned the vehicle I made sure everything was ok with vehicle including the gas. I was told by the gentlemen who took vehicle back in, he assured me everything fine, including the gas!When I got final charges on receipt days later there was an extra of $30 charge for 3 gallons of gas. I disputed it. No win.Never, ever will I use this fraudulent company again!!!!!I use Enterprise now!!!!

Employees Albert and Justin were outstanding in their pleasant demeanor and helpfulness. Everything went like clockwork - easy check-in and easy drop off. The car had only 11k miles on it and drove like a dream. I get nervous renting cars because there are so many tricks outfits will play to milk more money out of you. Here, there were no unpleasant surprises and no pressure to buy extra insurance of services. I ended up needing the car longer than my original 7 day rental period and forgot to call to extend the time. I received a courteous email reminder from the manager, Chad, and he extended the rental for another 5 days at the same rate. My bill came to exactly what it was supposed to - just over $30/day. Sixt will be my first choice for car rentals in the future.

My first experience with Sixt was awful (Seattle)...but I had already booked this one in San Antonio so I was stuck with it. However, it ended up being one of the best and easiest car rental experiences. Easy check-in, car was just what I needed, easy return. Cant ask for more than that!

Friendly staff. The car was clean and new. Both pick up and drop off were fast. They had the best deal the day I was looking. Be prepared to be up-sold both on insurance and level of vehicle. They have luxury cars if you need one.

Car was fine. Checking car back in for return there was no service attendant. Line of cars waiting to return their car while all the other lesser car rental agencies had attendants rapidly receiving return vehicles.Finally after waiting 20 minutes I gave up and left keys in drop box against my better judgement, still no receipt for my travel claim.

Ive been to multiple Sixt locations in several states and I liked them all EXCEPT the San Antonio one because of a lady at the front desk who made it her mission to downgrade my rental to a lower class than I had rented. Lying to my face amd saying they didnt have the car and I saw it in their lot when I was driving out with a vehicle that costs less than what I paid for. Next time I visit San Antonio and I see her there I will rent from another company. I will remain polite and keep my cool but take my business where its appreciated. FYI other rental companies have luxury cars for rent as well.

Id never heard of this rental company prior to booking on Hotwire. I was very impressed with how easy it was to get to the counter, how helpful, competent and friendly the gentleman was at the counter, and how easy it was to get my car. The car was very clean! It drove very well. Dropping the car was very easy. Ill definitely consider renting with this company again!

Make sure you ask about the full price being charged before handing your form of payment over. My rental included an extra $200 deposit that the customer service individual told me about as he was running the card, just so I knew what I would see on my bill.Also expect a delay in getting your final invoice. I returned the car around 5:30 in the morning at a location that opened at 6, and was told to expect a final bill emailed within 24 hours. It is currently 30 hours after returning (including one full working day) and I still dont have a bill. I did get an email asking to rate my overall experience, but no bill telling me how much I spent on my experience.I strongly recommend against using SIXT. There are a number of other options at San Antonio airport, and I suggest you look into them instead.

Dont do it! They are accusing us of damage (two scratches). There was never any inspection upon rental or return. The damage report they sent us says there were four other previous scratches and we caused the two newest ones making a total of 6 scratches on the car. We filled out the form and also called the customer service and they were totally unhelpful. I think its a scam and we will never use them again!
