From move in until the last day being at Prado was amazing experience. Move out day was smooth as well. However, once moved out I got a $120 charge for carpet and for touch up paint on the wall. However, the carpet and wall were spotless. They even sent me the photos they looked at to charge me for the cleaning. Being charged $120 to clean a carpet that is already clean makes no sense. I made sure to vacuum before leaving as shown in the picture Prado sent me in their email. I would think twice about moving in here unless you want to be charged outrageous cleaning fees even though it’s already cleaned up.

I lived here for 3 years of my college life, everything was great until my junior year but that was mainly due to the roommates I was paired with. But let me explain, when I moved in 2018 our TV was broken because the previous tenants shot it with a BB gun and stole the replacement TV, then my room had huge stains on the carpet and was not replaced because “ I moved in too soon for it to be replaced”, but I just dealt with it and kept it clean for as long as I lived there. Now in 2021 while I am moving out I am being charged for a carpet replacement and cleaning for a mess I never caused! To add insult to injury I was notified that management lost my condition form and now I have to pay for their inability to keep up with form. This place was great until it wasn’t.

WORST PLACE TO LIVE!The only reason this place deserves any stars is due to the staff, when around, location, and events put on by the complex. How this complex has more than 2 stars I am unsure of. In the 5 months that I lived here I was astounded as to how much I was inconvenienced. While I was a resident here, my car was towed after hours and I was locked out of my apartment for two hours due to the lock being broken. After being towed, without being notified I was highly aggravated. I was towed due to a misunderstanding on my part, but I did not realize that until it was too late. To get my car back I had to travel 30 minutes past 10 pm and proceed to pay $300 to get my car back. The only way that I found out that my car had been towed was by calling the police. This incident alone would cause me to never advise someone to live here. Two months after having my car towed I had to sit outside of my apartment to wait for the locked to be fixed for two hours , from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. After calling prados two phone numbers at least 6 times, calling the police once, and writing a maintenance request someone finally showed up. The maintenance man practically blamed me and my roommates for not telling him that the lock was low on battery, even though we were never informed of what it would look like when dead, nor that it could be dead. I later emailed the manager of the complex, who had zero sympathy for my roommate, my dog, and I.Please do not live here.

The apartment is nice and it’s close to campus however the staff at the appointment will say anything to get you to sign the lease. They told my friend that the buses were still running to campus, and they’re weren’t. And they told us that we couldn’t sign for four people a move down to three because it would be a whole legal process , and we later found out that it wasn’t that difficult and we would just have to sign a different lease. A simple process.

The management is young and unprofessional how they go about violations. Do not have people over because people will complain over and over again. The staff was incredibly rude and acted like they didnt want me there. The hallways were incredibly dirty, filled with random debris and funky odors. On top of everything in my short visit to the complex, which lasted just over an hour, they towed my car. Please, don’t stay at Prado! This place is the worst, under any management (which changes frequently). For the past months they have “renovating” the hallways, which included repainting walls, floors, front doors. They attempt to warn residents about the areas that we need to be cautious about, but they do a terrible job. I multiple times walked a few steps through a painted hallway floor, and didn’t realize they painted it. I have seen dogs get their feet stained from the paint. I stained multiple items of clothing, but pressing against the door, I didn’t know was painted. The management is not helpful, and they don’t care about existing residents.

They have no idea how to clean or manage cleaning my apartment was so disgusting when I walked in the door my parents were mortified by the disgust. There was trash everywhere, drug paraphernalia, the carpets are absolutely disgusting, and also used alcohol bottles everywhere. I cannot express enough my advice to not live here. They also have several issues with parking and have no idea the difference between reserved and not reserved, either way you’ll probably have a chance of getting towed. In addition, there is barely hot water and the water constantly runs. The day I moved in two of my roommates moved out. Luckily I was able to move out after two weeks when I found a much better place to live. Some other issues were the gate clicker not working ever, the door lock had so many problems you can barely even get into your apartment. Let me start of by saying...DO NOT SIGN A LEASE HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This place is run by students who just parrot what the one adult in charge of the place tells them. I signed my lease for this year because I was told that my rent would go up significantly if I waited. Come to find out from my roommates that they waited until a month before their leases ended and their rent got reduced! They got a price reduction because there was a special that if 3 students in the apartment resigned their leases their rent would go down, and they were told that I had already resigned and we would all 3 get the deal. I go down to talk to Hana and she refuses to give me the deal because I didnt sign during the special, even though my roommates would not have gotten the discount without me! Prado operates using sneaky tactics and I strongly recommend you live anywhere else. Not to mention everything in the apartments is always breaking and it takes a few days and calls for maintenance to show up. The halls are littered with trash and broken glass and covered in dog poop and pee. This place could not be further from luxury student living. I regret not listening to the bad reviews that were posted before I signed my first lease. Please if you are reading this and want to move here do yourself a solid and DONT. This is scam place for young college and innocent student. All of young friends, you have to take care and watch out. I was the one of victim scam, since I didn’t sign any contract or live in this place. I’m not a student too. Last month Jan-17, I came to San Antonio to help my young sister friend for moving out her personal stuff and check for the cancel contract fee since her visa had some troubles and issues, she couldn’t come to US anymore. This things I already told and explained with the Leasing Manager- his name Dylan Castro, he wanted to trap and game me like guarantor, I told him that I was the sister friend for emergency contact in US only and mentioned I didn’t sign any contract with this apt or cosign anything with her (as knew she was over 21) and I’m not her guarantor, just friend. I told him I came to help her move out and she agreed to make payment for cancel the contract include everything. Then he calculated and came up with the number $1400 for cancel the contract with everything, she agreed to make payment, and we did for the transaction payment at that time. Before leaving, I also reminded him please don’t bother me anymore because I didn’t want to involve this things. He said everything alright. Now, Feb-17, their finance dept. / bookkeeper – her name: Hana Thai contact me - and asked me had to pay back for the cleaning apt, painting room and replace mirror. What do you think when you do business with someone? Then trapped the others (like your friend or your relatives) to pay back the things that not involve. Is this a scam or fraud business/company? I don’t know why those people try to scam me for the money, that’s totally unbelievable. The importance things that I want to let all young and innocent college students (local and international) had to be careful when to make decisions rent this apartment since this place is so dirty, small and the rent too expensive. At the time moving out last month, on the phoned from oversea I also told young sis friend why she rented and lived in the dirty room and place. She said they told her that the only room they had. They didn’t clean since beginning when she moved in. Is this a scam why they treated the young and innocent student like this, then they tried to scam me to ask me pay for cleaning, painting and mirror replace that all happened before. I’m out of this things and didn’t involve any business or rent to this place. This is fraud and scam to me for money.

This review will be very detailed and probably the best review of this place on here…I will begin with the rooms. The rooms are very nice and do make you feel at home. However, the walls are paper thin, so if you enjoy listening in on gossip or hearing your roommate’s conversations, then this is the place for you! Maintenance is awful. During the year, they came to replace air filters only ONCE. I took matters in my own hands and replaced the air filters twice during my stay. I guess they want to charge you more after your monthly rent. If you get “lucky” enough to get a room next to The Block or the pool area, I recommend wearing ear plugs when sleeping unless you enjoy listening to terrible cover bands preforming at The Block while trying to sleep for work the next day.The hallways are disgusting. Be careful where you walk, or you might just track pet excrement (I hope) in your car or rooms.Next, the parking garage. I could write an entire post about the garage, but I’ll try my best to keep it short. The majority of the drivers here do not understand why you should take turns going up or down this garage slow. I cannot even remember how many times I was almost hit by a speeding car going up or down the garage. Numerous times people came inches from hitting the front of my car, even though there is plenty of room to have two cars go through at the same time. The garage was cluttered with trash and debris people throw out of their cars. Also, during my stay at Prado, the white paint to mark parking spaces faded away for many of the spaces in about 4 months and management kept it like that until only recently… after many residences move out.Now for the good…Being close to campus saves money on gas. Having a workout room is also nice for late night workouts. It is big enough with a decent variety of equipment to use. The study rooms are nice and there are computers to use as well. This is pretty much it.Again, this review is meant to be informative for new residents looking for a place to live near campus.

Fantastic apartments. Great staff. Spacious. Plus the little shops down stairs provide good food, coffee, and even a place for hair cuts.

I highly recommended not to stay at this place there is very few visitor parking and will tow you for no reason. And they will make you pay damages at the end of the lease that we’re already there and we documented them before me and my roommate moved in. Worst place to stay at honestly.

This place is absolutely terrible! The managers lack the ability to communicate properly and charge fees for EVERYTHING. They performed a paint job in the hallways that no one asked for...Nobody:Them: LeT’s pAiNt tHe hAllWaySand told us if we stepped in it we would be charged a ridiculous amount of money. Also, they downgraded the HIGH QUALITY cable and Wifi we were originally paying for, for basic cable and terrible Wifi. (we got robbed basically) They are very nonchalant when you try to confront them about your issues and show no concern. When I moved out I was charged $105 for an unnecessary paint job in my room. They clearly have a strong love for paint. Anyways, sign at your own risk.

Anyone reading this, parent or student, stay away. They claim about having fast internet and a nice safe property, but that simply isnt the case. In the past year the apartments themselves have been bought and sold 3 times shutting down the payment portal and having to change websites to where you pay. With the current company, they now charge you $1.95 just to pay rent... Fees continue to go up while the property itself is in shambles. I even pay for a reserved parking spot for my truck so I know I always have someplace to park, and the gated garage didnt stop someone from breaking into it and taking anything of value I had inside. Furthermore, the new and faster internet is even slower and more unreliable than the Spectrum they had before. The internet was great beforehand, but it seems they are trying to cut costs. Prado is half full right now being that it is summertime and the internet still goes out about every 30 minutes. This place is only interested about making money off of you, not providing you a luxury living experience. Just shop around the other student living spaces that are much cheaper.

Best customer service I have ever witnessed from a student living complex. They understand the situations of students and try to work accordingly. Attractive amenities, close proximity to UTSA, and the block is just stones throw from the location. Youd be stupid to live anywhere else, TBH.

Dogs defecate in the hallways here - the property NEEDS to provide poop stations for the hallways ASAP. The smell is unbearable in the summer and I stepped in soft warm dog feces twice when I walked out of my apartment. I simply do not understand how the property allowed this.

Great place love the living style and neighbors are amazing not such a loud place and super close to USTA I walk every day takes about 5 minutes but the outcome and the weight Ive lost is even better thanks Prado other than that the pool table in the lobby is a great place to be and the access to the gym well this place has it all. The best thing about this place is that everything is brand new. However, it was not built for tall people! the counters are so low and i feel like i have to bend over to reach the counter and im only 57. It is also difficult to give directions to friends on how to get in since the design is so complicated. The staff is polite and maintenance is quick. When you get charged a fine, they dont tell you why and you have to call and ask. I love how close it is to campus, i can walk to school if i want to. The pool is enclosed within the apartment buildings so the view is not that pleasurable. The gym is amazing i love it! i would not live here again though, the grocery trips from the parking garage around to the fifth floor in a separate building is too laborious. The apartments have a nice urban feel to them though, they are unique.

As a resident of Prado, I can honestly say that the entire staff is very helpful with everything Ive ever needed. Ben Varga though exceeded my expectations when helping me with an issue I had with my billing yesterday. He addressed the issue quickly showing me he valued my time and was very nice and knowledgable through the entire experience. Keep up the great work Ben!

If I could, I would give prado negative stars. There is always dog feces everywhere. Many of the residents dont have their dogs on a leash which can be very dangerous, someone was already bitten by a dog that was off its leash. The hallways are always dirty (vomit, beer bottles, trash) and no one cleans them. There arent many fire extinguishers on the 3rd floor. Management will look for a reason to fine you. No one cleans up after themselves when going to the pool. There is no security, if you get locked out of your apartment good luck if the office isnt open the curtsey officer takes hours to respond to your call. Management is extremely rude and when need help with maintenance the order takes a little more than a week to get the problem fixed. The walls in the units get dirty easily and are paper thin you can here your roommates or neighbors conversation. There is no working elevator near the garage you have to walk to the opposite side of the building. The garage doors on the third floor do not lock. No doors lock around the building so anyone can come into the building. There has been several incidents where people break into the garage and vandalize the complex and residents cars. Visitors vandalize a lot by making holes or breaking signs off of walls on hallways. Would not recommend a friend to live here.

Okay place to live, place was a mess with paint all over the furniture. Also the floor of your room will shake just from people walking down the hall. Avoid at all cost. The employees are definitely ignorant and blunt even has the audacity to lie. Basically I am paying to rent a place with leaking roof the whole semester repaired repeatedly throughout (doesnt take a whole semester to try and fix a leak lmao and Im not obligated to endure it and pay for what I did not sign for). This place rents out damaged rooms just to profit

Worst student living place to live at. This is not luxury living, by far the worst experience. They promised construction would be done in time for me to move in and it wasnt which was VERY inconvenient. Yes they compensated me for not having my apartment ready but they sent it in a 1099 form (meaning I had to file this as income when I used this money for HOTELS). Hallways are so trashy, the set up of this building is very inconvenient especially for grocery trips. They promised the elevators would be up and running within 2 weeks of moving in and it took them 6 months! Avoid signing here, you can definitely find nicer and affordable student living apartments to live at. These apartments are small and overpriced.

If you are a visitor or guest, expect a fine of some sort. Parking here is absolutely awful and impossible to find. The concrete halls are disgusting, you will find anything from beer and food stains to vomit stains and the odor comes with it.The rooms are incredibly hard to find and this isnt the most handicap friendly place.

Dont get me wrong. If you have money to spend, and youre smart about negotiating prices and reading contracts, its a good place to live. However, the leasing staff uses predatory practices to squeeze as much money out of the residents as possible. They falsely advertise the amount of rooms left for your preferred apartment space so youre more likely to sign sooner, they dont tell anybody to read the terms of agreement before signing, and once you sign, theres no way to cancel after 48 hours, even if its months before your lease officially begins. That being said, most of the staff are courteous and kind, the internet is fast, and it has great furnishings. My advice? Sign here if you want a good living experience (minus the incredibly dirty hallways & stairwells) and you have a lot of money youd like to spend. Otherwise, seek somewhere else.

My son just moved in this August, and he has had a great experience living at Prado ever since then. Previously, he lived at a different student complex where he ran into some problems, so I was a bit skeptical about Prado at first, but they proved me wrong. Im glad he chose to live here.

Theres a bat in my room. I live on the sixth floor so Im pretty sure it did come through somewhere on top. Bats dont come in through the window or doors. Please save your money and get another apartment. I knew i would not renew after about a month of living here. I had a small charge on my account and was never warned until I got a text saying I owed almost $400, which was mostly late fees. The construction lasted until the end of the semester even though they said it would be done within the first few weeks. They will take any chance to charge you excessive fees. I cleaned the walls before moving out, but was still charged $80 for heavy painting. The parking garage is placed inconveniently far from most of the rooms, which makes things like bringing in groceries or moving any other items from your vehicle to your room more difficult than it should be. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the walls are paper thin, so you hear everything that happens in other rooms and outside.Overall, paying so much for these apartments is completely unjustifiable. You can find better places for a better price easily.

I am so impressed with Prado Student Living. The facility is beautiful and the staff is excellent. My daughter has lived at Prado for two years and loves her apartment and all of the amenities. Everything is wonderful, the ammenitites are all nice and the maintenance is quick and prompt. My only complain would be the elevator situation. The day I moved in, I was told that the elevators would be done in two weeks. It has been almost 6 months and the elevators are still not operating. I wouldnt mind this but as I live on the 6th floor, it gets to be annoying. Everything else seems to be great though.
