The machine I bought here has been great quality so far, for a really great price (on sale for almost 40% off!!) and the shop owners were very helpful and friendly about all of the questions I had. Awesome shop!

Wish I had found Shingletons sooner! Finally someone who knows how to fix a sewing machine! My machine is oooooold, and was very loud, just thought it was something I had to deal with until I took it in to Shingletons for a different repair, when I got it home and started to run it I was shocked at how whisper quiet it was. Quieter than my daughters newer machine! They did an amazing job, and it was extremely reasonable. They have my business for life and I will definitely be recommending them to friends and family. THANK YOU!!! My machine has never run so well!

I live in southeast Idaho. After failing to get my older (27 year) Bernina serger repaired and working like it should, I took it to Shingletons. It is working like new. I am amazed, I was ready to buy a new machine before, even though I like everything about my old one.It has a new lease on life!! Thank you so much for your amazing work. I am pretty sure the old man is the owner and I am pretty sure he is trying to go out of business with his attitude towards people. I went in looking for some presser feet for my machine. I called the foot by the name given on the singer website. He said he had been in business for 50+ years and he has NEVER heard it called that. I also needed one other part. He would not help until I stood 6 feet away from him. We both had masks on, I have even been vaccinated. I mentioned to my husband I will order the other feet I need online. The old man said “that would be smart”. What the freaking heck?? I only have one star because he had the item I needed. I will NOT be going back!

I was blown away by this place. I went to get my daughters sewing machines repaired and ended up purchasing a much better fit for them instead. Its so convenient to shop on Amazon (where their first machines came from) and I read reviews and felt like I was making a good choice but they ended up being junk. Reviews will never be as accurate as speaking with a human who has spent years in the industry as these people have. The couple that own the shop are so incredibly sweet and knowledgeable I left feeling such a commitment to support small business like theirs. It benefits all of us! I spoke with dave and got a quote to fix my machine. He was very helpful and professional. He said it could take a week to fix but called the next day and it was ready! I was so excited. I went and got my machine and the price was the same as he had quoted me. Thank you so much Dave youre a sewing machine life saver! Because my machine was legit dead.

I took my machine into Shingletons hoping that I would have a quick repair as I was in the midst of several big sewing projects. When I entered the shop I saw many machines lined up awaiting repairs and I wasnt optimistic. The owner of the shop looked at my machine and repaired it on the spot and wouldnt accept payment for his work. I purchased a machine and have shopped here a number of times and have always received excellent service.

The negative reviews couldn’t be more true. If you don’t know much if anything about your machine and you totally trust the owner to do right by you, then I’m sure everything will go along nicely.IF you know your machine and you only need it repaired and not ‘serviced’, if you question anything about the job done, expect nothing short of extreme rudeness.I took my machine in quite some time ago, got it home and nothing was fixed, although it had been ‘serviced’, oil/lube/clean, which I always do myself. No resolve. I will never return. I would not recommend this place of business.

This place is amazing! I have two very old Singer machines. The older gentleman told me that they were worth fixing. I was told by another repair shop that one, which sewed so slowly that I could sew faster by hand, was not repairable. The other kept clogging up underneath. The repair charge for each was $90 but now they both sew like a dream! I’m so glad I came here where they know the value of a good machine and how to get it running in tip top condition! I would highly recommend this store to everyone!

Rude people. Misleading on repair time by phone. Tells you seven weeks out at the store....I dont think so. Ogden Pfaff repairs the same day.

I took my mothers sewing machine to Shinletons today and had a wonderful experience! I told him what was wrong, he immediately started troubleshooting and quickly found the problem. It was fixed and running perfectly within 5 minutes. Highly recommended!! 😀

They seem to know what they are doing. The owner was crabby with my husband and the 6 week wait for my machine is killing me. However the owner was kind enough to talk to me about whether or not it was worth fixing my broken machine and what type I should buy.

This place is amazing; I own and have used a Pfaff machine for 54 years and even though the machine has had few problems, every time there is a problem Singletons repairs the issue quickly and economically.

After my sewing machine was jammed beyond what I could repair, I loaded it up and found Shingletons. The owner was GREAT. He fixed it in no time and sent me on my way. The shop is clean, bright and well organized. I highly recommend it for your sewing needs!

I have gone to Shingletons several times over the last year and they have been very helpful. There has been more then once that I have not been charged but rather they have taken the time to show me what I have been doing wrong so that I dont run into the same issues again. Great price and service! It was my understanding that there was a basic price around 100 to look at the machine when I inquired before taking it in to be fixed. When I picked it up I was pleasantly surprised that everything was done that was needed (including tax) for that same price with the reassurance that if anything went wrong, they would be happy to look at it again for no extra charge.

I came in for a repair on a 45 year old machine that I use mostly for repairs only to find I had simply threaded it the wrong way! A million thanks to the very kind gentleman who simply showed me what was wrong...rethreaded it...made sure it worked...without a single giggle or making me feel foolish! Thanks!

Went in looking for a foot for my machine, the guy was really rude and argued with me! This is not the first time I have been treated poorly in this store and will be the last time I will ever be back.

Experience, knowledge, reliable and fast is how I would describe Shingletons. They have not been in business all these years out of luck. It is because they provide quality service at a reasonable price.

I took my featherweight to another store and after examining it they told me that it would need a new motor and some other parts. Then I took it to Shingletons and they fixed the motor and other parts as well. I was thrilled as it belonged to my grandmother. Shingletons was terrific!!

Dave sold my Pfaff to me in 1973. The senior machine is sturdy and reliable. After Ive abused it enough to require repair and bring it to Shingletons. Last time it was fixed in 4 days!!! Love this place too for other services and hard to find notions.

I have been doing business with Shingletons for 30 years. They are efficient and do fantastic repair. They guarantee their work and for what they charge, theyre a bargain. Ive also found them to be honest.

My 15 year-old machine came home working and looking like it was new!Some reviews say that the repair prices are on the high side--this is true but not without good reason. I had taken my machine into other places before Shingletons, spent $40 and brought home a still-mostly broken machine. Shingletons charged me about $100, but EVERYTHING was fixed. He also gave me a 30-day warranty on his work.

Wow! The gentleman at this shop made my day!My serger just would not work right. I had threaded and retreaded my serger, as a novice...thinking that was the problem. I finally decided that I had done something major and had to take it in for repair. Nice to watch a pro work! He took a look at my machine, and immediately saw the problem. It didn’t need a major repair, it was a broken needle faceplate. He replaced it and I was out the door in maybe ten minutes. Great job, he gets all my business.

They were able to fix our Janome sewing machine that two other places were not able too. One place just wanted to sell us a new machine. It works wonderful now

Do NOT waste your time going here. The old man who waited on us was abrupt and rude. He did not listen to what I was telling him that was wrong with my new Janome. He then attempted to charge me $100 for a very simple repair that should be covered under warranty anyway. His resolution to the well documented bobbin issues was to change to a cheap nasty thread. I told him I had tried that already without it fixing the problem. He shrugged. He gave me the stink eye the entire time I was interacting with him. Seriously, he infuriated me with his condescending attitude and obvious lack of interest in my issue. In addition, his attempt to gouge us added insult to injury. Again DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME going here.**UPDATE**Called another sewing repair shop and they will do an entire service on the machine for the same price as the old bugger was going to charge me for just timing. The timing at the other shop is only $45 instead of the old buggers price of $100. Seriously, save your $$ and your frustration and go somewhere else.

They fixed my staff sewing machine and it runs like new. It is about 15 years old and they did a great hob for a reasonable price.

The man I spoke with at the shop named Dave was extremely rude and condescending toward me. I brought in a machine to be repaired and was told I wouldn’t have to pay for it if the issue couldn’t be fixed. Upon pick up, I inquired about testing in the store but instead was promised it was fixed. Upon getting home, the machine was not fixed. I called a few weeks later to resolve the issue and to remind Dave of his price guarantee.I have NEVER interacted with a more condescending and disgustingly rude individual. He made remarks toward me that were extremely rude, inappropriate and condescending. I left his shop in tears upon drop off. And again after our phone call. I would NEVER recommend this establishment to ANYONE. My main issue with him was his disrespectful nature. In addition to that, he did not honor his word to me about the machine charges. I am so disappointed and had high hopes for this shop. The negative reviews of this company are very accurate on Google Reviews.

This business has been around for decades; I enjoy going in. They did a fine job tuning my 75-year- old Singer sewing machine and also make perfect buttonholes for a small price.

I left in tears. I took my two machines into the store with questions. An elderly man opened the door for me as I approached carrying my baby, and a sewing machine under each arm. That was very kind and the sole reason I give two stars instead of one. As soon as I placed my machines on the counter another woman walked in. Not three minutes into my explanation of the situation, the same elderly man rushed me aside and stated that if I intended to continue to carry on and on I would need to do so after he helped the next customer. I was so caught off guard by his coldness and sudden irritation with me. I didnt know I was annoying him. I was embarrassed by what he said and I felt my cheeks turn flush and a sudden frog in my throat. I took my machines and left. On my way out he apologized as he could then see a tear, but it was too late. I was humiliated. Im sure he didnt intend to be insensitive, but he certainly was. I probably will never return.
