Weve taken our kids, 4 and 2, here multiple times. Its in a really cool three story building in midtown that even has a basement!Like the name suggests, its an art studio and its intended for kids. These pictures shown are from summer camp that our son is going to.Ive shown About half to two-thirds of the rooms, because I dont want to spoil all of it! Theres some really neat themes throughout the building and its definitely worth the go. Staff are friendly, and it seems like a well-organized place.

Such a creative place for kids, multi tiered activity rooms, basement has a puppet theater, space ship, costumes, an actual stage (kid sized). Next floor up is crafts, water colors, clay, drawing activities and a mini indoor playground. Top floor they have a dance studio with other play rooms. You can also go outside and do some water activities and they have an awesome play kitchen. My daughter LOVED painting and drawing, you get to keep the art btw, she made several pieces and she got to play with another little girl. Such a great way to socialize kids if youre new to Sacramento or just want some time for your child to get creative and not have to worry about the mess.Affordable visits, probably will do a membership once the smoke goes to down to acceptable levels.

Art Beast is an awesome place to go and take your young children. In my opinion the ideal age would be 18 months through 5 years. Ive brought my children here when they are younger than that and theres really not much they can do although its still usually a good experience. The backyard area is always a hit with my kids, they enjoy playing with the toy kitchen and sand and water features. My daughter enjoyed playing with the baby doll bathing station when she was younger.I feel like they could do more with the basement area which is the dramatic play area. They have a piano in there which is nice but the rest of the area is generally a big mess. its not just that the puppets and dress-up clothing are in a huge heap on the floor when you walk in- its that the carpet is usually dirty and looks like it needs a vacuum and the dress-up clothing is so tattered and worn that its falling apart and not usable. I wish they would come up with something different to do in that area to enhance it because right now its just a disappointment when you go down there and my opinion. The best part of course is the main floor where they have all the art supplies and Play-Doh and clay and you can paint and sculpt to your hearts content. Sacramento is lucky to have this establishment and it has a lot of great features.

Great for my 1.5 year old. When he doesnt feel like doing the Arts and Crafts there is a playroom downstairs and another play room upstairs where they can roam free and be creative. It is a great place but Ive noticed its hard for parents that have two children, since its separated throughout by 3 floors

Thank you for a wonderful week at camp . I know my child is a handful and 1 week is not enough time for her to build a bond with you guys. I really thought you were going to refuse your services to us because she can be difficult at times. You guys turned the 1st day challenges around and were committed to giving her an enjoyable experience throughout the rest of the week. I thank you so much for that! I was really impressed and it truly made me happy that you guys didnt feel burdened with her. I loved the projects that were sent home with her but, I just wished you had photos of her doing the activities.

Geared for little ones up to about 5. They have several tables with different art supplies, play dough, clay, bird seed etc. There is painting and an outside play area that includes a water table and sand box. There is a fire truck play structure room along with a boat and rocket ship. Theres dress up, blocks and Legos as well. Theres a bench in the front lobby that you can use to give your little one a snack. Plan on about 2 hours of fun.

Fun for kids, great to keep them entertained for an hour or so. Gets a bit crowded on the weekends, especially with birthday parties upstairs, and 2 bathrooms really isnt enough (and they are not the best kept bathrooms either). Activities are fine, but everythings a little worn or ragged from heavy use. A bit expensive for what you get, and the check in process could improve. Not sure why parents cant take their own punch cards with them.

This place is pretty awesome. There is so much going on that even the busiest of children stay engaged. From art to sensory toys to imagination play and to music. Your kid will spend hours there and still not want to leave. I also felt like it was well maintained and cleaned regularly. We got a family pass off Groupon and I would go daily if it was closer to my home.

I wanted to like this place so much and in a way I do. I love the idea of my son being about to do crafts that doesnt end with glue all over my table, or paint on my carpet. But I came in with my almost 2 son and 6 Month twins. There is no elevator so Im carrying twin carseats up and down stairs, fine I can live with that, Downtown, old house. 9 dollars for my son to play, okay not bad. But why am I being charged 9 dollars for myself. Im not there for me; Im there for my son. Im not playing with the blocks and legos or painting pictures, doing crafts. Most parking is an hour so Im paying 18 dollars to hang for an hour and go move my car or leave? I rather pay 12 or 15 for my son to play. I feel like places for kids shouldnt charge the parent entry. I would never walk in on my own (no kids)and be like yeah Im going to hang here. Honestly, they would probably kick me out. Between the stair, parking, and paying 18 dollar entry ( the straw that broke the camels back) I cant recommend this place.

Way to overpriced for such horrible place. Everything is DIRTY and OLD!!!!!!!!! The blocks and toys are old like something found in a dumpster. The front counter had “toys” that were dirty and ripped, sponges and rusty locks. The outdoor play area was even worse! Disgusting rusty old toys and by toys I mean rocks and sticks that was suppose to be part of the “fairy garden” and old spatulas and ladles. Never ever taking my son there and no one should ever.

My 1 year old loved it! Theres different levels with different rooms. The imaginary room is downstairs and houses a spot for kids to put on plays, play guitars and piano, dress up, and puppet shows. The sensory/art area has lots of painting fun, sand to play with, dough, and other items. (My son is too young to play with most of the things that were there.) Theres a small section for those under 18 months that they can run around and play with. Theres also an area for blocks. 3-7 year olds will probably get more of a kick out of it.

The 2nd floor is an art room with rotating crafts, fingerpaint stations, a sand station, a station with millet to put through funnels, a light table, play doh, a pottery table, and a random table with dinosaurs to play with lol. Theres also a fire truck room. On the upper floor is a room where you can create ball runs, do Lego, and more. Theres a baby space as well. First time with my grandchildren. Truly amazing studio to express young minds creatively. From colored rice, peppermint playdough, clay, birdseed pouring stations. Wall to paint, easels to paint. Gluing projects, all child size tables. Truly a lilttle persons play area. What is more imaginative is the space capsule and airduct made castle, stage area with all kinds of costumes. Musical instruments plus an outdoor area with shaded trees. They have parties upstairs. This in a beautiful Victorian home in Sacramento. All contributions go to Tubman House for young homeless parents. A very blessed community effort to support these young parents and expand these young children minds.
