This was one of the best Avis experiences I had. I really like the people at this location. As a Preferred member, the experience was fast and easy. Ive found its not always that way at every location.The only flaw in the experience was the gas tank was not quite on full when I picked up the vehicle. But that was maybe an extra gallon of gas I had to put in, so it wasnt worth complaining about.

I rented a car from this place while my car was being repaired. They don’t seem to answer their phone. When I needed to extend my rental for a week I called them 15+ times over the course of 2 days during business hours. I realized that I left something on my key ring. I’ve called them 20+ times in the last three times and can’t get anyone on the phone.

I am disappointed on the policy you carry for prepay vehicles. I canceled my reservation because I had a death in the family and my trip got canceled. Called customer service and they wouldnt refund my money...i wasnt asking for the whole amount but at least a portion of what i had paid.I didnt even used the rental car 1 day. I will NOT recommend you to no one. Your company has no empathy . You are a disgrace.😡

I was told I would be getting a Ford Explorer, Nissan Pathfinder, or Dodge Durango. Instead I got a Toyota Highlander which has less cargo space and no roof rails to tie down additional cargo. We made the Highlander work but it was a 2200 mile tight and uncomfortable fit.

Id give this place a negative star if I could. Reserved a 12 passenger van in November, got a confirmation the day before and on the day we go pick it up. They rented out all their vans. What is the point of a reservation? Will make sure everyone I know not use this buisness. What is the point of a reservation if you dont reserve the car.

The worst nightmare of my life. We just went through a natural disaster with this horrible snow storm. We were suppose to return the vehicle Friday and we couldnt get to the store due to the ice and snow still on the road. We called and they said it was fine, we are more worried about your safety just return as soon as you can. So we finally were able to get the vehicle back to Avis on Sunday after roads cleared an we were able to get back to Texas, we looked online an it said to have vehicle in by 5pm. So we tried calling all day to let them know we would be there by that time. No answer. We got there at 430 and nobody was there. So we were going to leave in a nightbox but no nightbox available and a sign that said all vehicles left, they will not be responsible for so we finally got it back today (Monday) they still charged us for the entire weekend even though they knew our situation. Never again. Thanks for acting like yall understand we just went through a natural disaster and yall cared about our safety.

Don’t rent from here unless you can return within the normal hours of operation. Avis customer service assured me that they would be available for up to 2 hours after my drop off time (6pm) and they were not available. They do not answer their phones when you call the local number so you have to depend on national customer service in this kind of situation. An annoying way to end the trip. I have options for rentals so Avis and this location lost my business.

The young man who was walking us through the process was wearing a mask--very important to my wife and I. A little too soft-spoken so his words were often difficult to understand but I had rather ask and ask than have someone not taking my health seriously. The SUV was clean, filled with gas, but did show some significant wear on the tires, and a light came on saying the oil needed to be changed. No other issues. Returning was a snap.

Manager Tim Hassan was very rude and unprofessional!We reserved a van for the week. After Tim finish with the paper work, didnt bother to walk us to the vehicle to do a visual inspection. Just pointed us to where the vehicle was parked, told us to inspect it ourselves and come back if theres damage larger than a quarter.Upon starting the vehicle, we noticed the maintenance light was on. We returned and advised Tim of the situation. Tim didnt even bother to get in or take a look, just explained that its just for oil change and that we should be fine. Id mentioned that were heading out of town and doesnt feel safe or risk a chance of the vehicle break down. This is when Tim got rude and his attitude changed. I asked to exchange vehicle, Tim stated that other vehicles are the same and are dirty and if I want to change it out, Ill just have to deal with the maintenance light on or take a dirty vehicle. I asked how long will it take to clean a vehicle and was told 45min.Im sure Avis/Budget did not hire Tim Hassan for his excellent customer service and Im sure Tims attitude does not represent the companys motto. As a Manager... his action, attitude and rude behavior is unacceptable. I hope Avis/Budget will address this concerns so others does not have to experience and go through what we did today.

When I arrived to get the car I reserved an hour prior, I was told that since it’s a last minute reservation that they didn’t have any cars ready. I had just paid for a Lyft to get there and was not taking no for an answer. They had to put me in an uncleaned vehicle, and keep in mind this is Covid-19 season. They tried to make me feel that it was my fault because I booked a “Last Minute” rental. I simply chose the facility that stated it had an available car online. They sure did a great job of making a customer feel horrible. Thanks

I have to say in all the years I have rented cars all over the USA this has to be the best experience of all. Mat was very helpful, friendly, respectful from the moment he greeted us. He helped us resolve all issues and took very good care of us. We had a very complexed schedule and he made it look very simple. He took the time to answer all questions related to the car we rented and gave us great recommendations. I will now rank Avis as my favorite rental car company in America. And all because of Mat. This experience reminds us all that people make a difference and it is someone like Mat who makes a company like Avis great. I will now recommend Avis to all my friends and family. The professionalism of the staff at this location is absolutely HORRIBLE !!i made a reservation to rent a car and was told that I would receive a 30% discount plus a vehicle upgrade.When I got to the location,I did NOT get the 30% discount nor did I get an upgrade.The staff that handled my rental NEVER apologized nor offer any type of assistance.The discount would have been approximately $45.Good customer service would have been to maybe offer a $25 dis ount(to make the customer happy and to keep the customer in the future) Instead the location chose to do NOTHING !! I suppose they would rather lose a customer( and perhaps many others) rather than give up $25. I STRONGLY encourage others to rent ANYWHERE but at this location. The best way to make a point to a retail outlet is to hit them in their pocketbook,which I will do and suggest others to do slso.

You made a reservation with this location. but when you get there, there are no cars even though they managed to send me a mail reminding me that I made reservation with them just before I got there. Just make sure, even you call this location before you get there, they say they have a car, when you get there, the car could be cone. The excuse is that they get cars from the airport. The staff determined not to help us at all and help maybe people she already knows. You cant trust making reservation on their website. Remember! You will have a high chance that you go and wait there for a long time. Then, what you hear from them is that they dont have cars and very rude to you. Such a wasting time! Stay away from this place!

The day after I received my rental the low tire pressure and oil change light came on. I had to rearrange my travel plans that day to take the car in to be serviced. I have not received a refund for my time and the inconvenience of something that was not my responsibility. The local store was not helpful about the issue and has avoided the issue, I had to contact corporate which wasn’t much better.

I rent cars quite often locally, and was a loyal Enterprise customer until about 3 years ago when Enterprise could not fulfill a rental request. I contacted the Rock Rock location of Avis and talked to Mark. He was extremely helpful and fulfilled my request on a short timeline. The attitude, service, type of vehicle, and friendliness won me over so I tried this location again. My experience the second time was identical as the first. I have been renting from Mark and this location for over 3 years now and have not been disappointed once. Thank you for the great service and rental experience you provide every time.

We get our cars here all the time. Every vacation we either go to florida to see my family or Mississippi to see my wifes family. Overall they were pretty helpful when we didnt get the car we rent. They have a good selection of cars and convenient location, but what sets this particular Avis apart from other Avis locations and other rental car companies is the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! The manager/owner at this location needs a lesson in customer service. He was very arrogant and acted as though he was doing me a favor. He basically said to me that I shouldn’t complain about the vehicle he was renting me because it was an upgrade. Keep in mind, the maintenance light was on in the upgrade and the key fob didn’t work. After I responded to his disrespectful remark, he then proceeded to say “well I’ll just rent you the Subaru instead but it sits low.” (Hmmm so I’m not sure why that would’ve been a problem considering he was trying to rent me a car with all the parts not properly working). Additionally, when I brought back the vehicle after my trip, he accused me of having beach sand in the car. He stated, “I’m not going to charge this time but don’t have beach sand in the car.” I then told him that it’s not beach sand it’s dirt after the heaving rain. (Next time give your customers a list of things that you don’t want in the car when it’s returned like beach sand, dog hair, etc.) I felt disrespected, appalled, and disappointed with his overall demeanor. One of the customers felt bad that he was talking to me with such disrespect. I will never rent from this Avis location again.

Very fast service! I am glad that I chose this location over others. Also I did not get charged a fee for returning a car to another location. Other car rental businesses charge huge fees for this so I was happy to see that Avis did not. My car was very clean and was ready to go when I got there. If I ever need to rent a car in the Austin area again I will be sure to come back to this location.

This is the second time Ive dealt with this rental center. Wont be dealing with them again. They are not knowledgeable about their own terms. Act like they are giving us a deal for the second driver when its literally in the contact. Had to fight with them about that. They are condescending and judgemental treating me like a child because I look young. You cant even rent if under age 25 so of course Im old enough. Both times weve gone there is a wait and they are apologizing about some inconvience to the people in front of us. I would NOT recommend renting through these people.

Husband uses this location all the time for business. 1st time using for leisure. Helpful, thorough, and pleasant. Went ahead of time to see vehicle and get a price estimate. They gave us a couple of quote options and also suggested checking with Costco since we were members to see if price was better, which it was, however, my employee discount afforded the best price online with pick up from this location.

Initial rental experience was fine. I rented the vehicle for one week. When I tried to extend the rental to a second week, the price more than doubled for the second week. When I asked the representative why this was the case, she said that they could give me the discounted price again but I would have to go through the rental process again. Ridiculous. No thanks. Ill use Enterprise from now on.

This place just to be an A+ but not anymore. I guess they change owners and the cars are not as clean as they were they definitely change alot. I call to see if they found my tablet and the guy wouldnt even let me explain were I hid it. I understand is not his fault I left my tablet there but he should at least be more nice about it. The car we rent last time was not clean at all and before they were nice and clean now they dont care. But they tell you to not bring them the car dirty or else they charge you more. They never just to said that.

Cons*Gave us a car heavy with smoke smell, the guy said hed find us one without the smell, but he never called (they made up for it in that the car was a midsize, and they charged us for an economy car.)*CHECK YOUR PAPERWORK THOROUGHLY--Make sure the amount of gas the car has is noted in the paperwork. If you bring it back with less than that amount, theyll charge you $10 per gallon that it was lacking. Likewise, if the gas gauge is at half, and you bring it back full, it will be your loss. Return the car with exactly the amount of gas it had when you picked it up.--Keep your receipt when you refuel the car, and be ready to show it to them when you drop it off. They sometimes try to apply a fuel charge, but if you bring the car back with the the right amount of fuel, and show them the receipt, theyll drop it.--On the slip they give you to check the car yourself, make sure to note the amount of fuel and the cars mileage before signing. They did not note it in our paperwork, despite the fact that they had us read it to them, and they noted it wrong in their system. There is a charge if you venture more than 70 miles total while you have the car.In our case, they noted in the records that the car had 300 miles on it that were not there, so even though they entered the wrong amount, we did not suffer.--Have them print you out a copy of your rental summary. They should hand you a copy when you pick up the car. This includes the mileage when you picked the car up, how much gas was in it, etc. Upon looking ours over, we saw that they had correctly noted the car had only half a tank of gas, but had entered that the mileage of the car upon pick-up was 1 mile. The actual mileage was much higher. We asked them to show us the mileage that was saved to their system and the number they gave us was also wrong (as I said earlier, it was high than actual.) We had them print us another summary with so we could have the right mileage and they did, but when they did, the new document had changed the amount of fuel that the car had at pick-up. It now said that we had picked the car with a full tank. We pointed this err out and asked for a print out of the summary with the correct information, which they gave us. Its important to have this proof in case they try to add on additional charges when you return the car. If you do not have the documentation, they will charge your card and theres not much you can do.They told us that the information on the printed summary was subject to the greater authority of the slip that we filled out and signed when we picked up the car, and that they would honor the mileage and amount of gas that were on it, even if they had the wrong information in their system. Im not sure if thats true, but make sure to keep all your paper work, fill it out and check it before you drive away!--Theres a device that tracks the payments you owe for toll roads. If you accrue $2-3 of toll fees, they will pay it and charge your card, but will also charge you a convenience fee that is way more then the toll. We simply avoided toll roads, but theres an on/off switch you can toggle, and can turn the thing off. You might check if thats a violation before messing with it though.Pros*They gave us a very good price, despite the high demand for cars that week, and got us into a car when others would not.*Despite the companys shady policies that I described, the people at this location were helpful, and didnt seem like they were trying to con us. I think most rental companies are about that shady, and many are worse.We would definitely go to them again.

Dont look at their overall 4.5+ star rating. The old management earned them that rating. They are under new management now and it has gone very downhill. Allow me to explain.Used to love this location. Old management was awesome. They were friendly and offered upgrades when available.Two months ago it was taken over by new management. My first visit there, I overheard the new management saying negative things to the customers about the old management. Not very professional, but whatever. However, this unprofessionalism carried over to just about every experience I had with them. They are the closest location to me, so I wanted to give them a chance. Unfortunately, theyve fallen way short.Here are my expectations when I rent a car.1) A car is waiting for me2) It has a full tank3) The tires are inflated to a safe PSI4) Im treated with friendly customer serviceThats not too demanding.The head guy there has a really bad personality for customer service. Hes not friendly. Hes disinterested in what is going on. Has no sympathy for a customer if they are late for a reservation. He possesses the opposite skills of what you need to be in the customer service industry, yet some how he was given an Avis franchise.After five rentals with this new franchise (all of which had issues) I got an email in my inbox from Avis Corporate to leave a review about my experience at this location. I decided to be honest and leave constructive criticism. They have a sign on their door that says their vehicles are smoke free. I rented a vehicle for a week and a half that smelled like smoke to the point where I had to buy a glade air freshener. I had no choice really but to take the smoky vehicle because they run their inventory so lean, that youre pretty much stuck with whatever they give you (they get their inventory from the airport ).In my most recent reservation, I was late (my fault), but they gave my car away to someone else and didnt seem to care that sometimes youre late to things. Not a phone call asking me if maybe I was just running behind. In the couple hundred rentals Ive had with Avis, this is the first time Ive been late to a reservation. Ive learned not to call them after Ive personally witnessed other customers at their location explaining that they tried to call them when they were late, but this location never answered the phone. Ive personally experienced unanswered phone calls in the couple times Ive tried to reach them.So lets get back to my constructive criticism that I left to corporate. When I returned my most recent reservation, they confronted me about the review I left. As someone who has been in customer service for the last decade and a half, I was expecting them to say something like sorry you didnt have a great experience. We will work to get better or something that a reputable company would do.Nope. Thats not what happened.Some woman came out and told me that if I wasnt happy with their service that I should never come back there and take my business elsewhere. I was a bit surprised by her response. I never once raised my voice and kept my composure but was definitely taken aback by that response.You would think that was the end of it, right? Nope.She then called me on my cell phone, telling me she talked to her manager and that shes definitely encouraging me to never come back to do business with them.I guess thanks for making that decision easy. I wont. Perhaps there is a customer out there that feels like being a burden to the company that serves them is the right way to do business, but that customer isnt me.If youre reading this review, I cannot recommend this Avis location at all. Their customer service is terrible. Youd really be better off taking your business anywhere else. Take their advice! They dont want your business! I never raised my voice with them or anything. Just wrote a review that Avis Corporate asked me to and triggered them. I hope Avis reads this review and considers it when their franchise agreement is up.

My wife and I rented from owner operated Avis Budget at 1204 N IH35 in Round Rock last November, taking a trip to the Carolinas. I have been renting cars for business and pleasure for over 40 years and this was by far the best rental agency experience for me.We were so delighted with the personal touch and professionalism extended by the owner, that we have just rented again, this time for our planned trip to Chicago.We have spent so much time of our career flying we just decided that renting a vehicle was a better experience and gave us time to see the country and spend time with each other and our 15 year old toy poodle. Since we own Sedans renting the SUV made more since for the journey.Old fashioned owner operated service that shows he really cares. The vehicle was in terrible condition. I even called avis as soon as i got home with the van and was told to go to the location for questions or concerns. When i returned the vehicle and told the man about all the issues the van had he smiled and told me the rental was paid in full and was sorry i had a bad experience. The worst serviceWe have being renting from Budget/Avis Rental car agency in Round Rock Mall. We have been very happy with the customer service since the Mark left and new owners took over. The last two times we rented from them has been disaster.On the 25th Of July, we book a 12 passenger van on from their website.I called them request that I want a Ford Transit and nothing else. And the day before branch called us to confirm it. And Again insisted that I only wanted a Ford Transit as listed in the website.And when we got their to pick it up. The office smelled like a dead animal.The lady behind the counter said the only vehicles they had was older Chevy Express. When I tried to complain, she asked me to called the cooperate office since that where we book the van. Since we didnt any other option. We agree.And then she told it was NOT unlimited mileage as listed on the contract. I even showed her the email copy of the contract and again she refused to owner the contract and asked us to call the cooperate office.After she walked us around the van, I try to get in the driver seat and the seat was so close to the steering wheel, I have hard time get in even though I was average built. When I asked her own to move the seat back, she said she didnt know.And then when I asked her if the van take gasoline and diesel, again she did not know.I was also told that we couldnt drop the keys off in the after hours due to COVID-19. I couldnt understand what that has anything to do with COVID-19.Terrible customer service, and after seven years from renting them, I am either going to find another location or start renting from Enterprise. The new owner should have learned customer service and how to treat customer from the previous owner.
