Is good place be and put your love one there

If you have a loved one with developmental disabilities and you need residential care for this person, I would caution you to figure out how much a priority having this loved ones clothes and other personal belongings not disappear. If its important to you to have your loved one live somewhere where his or her personal belongs stay put and dont go missing constantly, I would advise you to look elsewhere for permanent housing. I have an adult son living at Clearbrook Commons in Rolling Meadows, whos been there less than a year, and almost everything that was moved in with him when he was admitted there is no longer there. Clothes, shoes, socks, personal items that arent hidden or nailed to the wall are no longer there, by about 90%. I dont know if they are stolen by staff or ambulatory residents, or if theyre just getting lost in the wash, or getting mixed up with other residents belongings, but every time I visit, I notice more things missing. Sometimes, I bring something to his room and its gone when I visit a week or two later, and Im always careful to be sure his name is on everything, either written on in indelible market, or a name label sewed in. I have complained to management multiple times, but to no avail. They will say they are sorry, but thats it. As far as I know, they make no effort to have staff search for anything. They are not responsible for lost or stolen items, so they have no incentive to take any measures to prevent loss, nor to recover missing items.I have concluded that its just not worth it to keep replacing clothes myself, or leaving items that are not clothes anywhere in his room. Its like trying to fill a bottomless hole with buckets of sand. Its very sad that my adult child **could** have nicer and more plentiful clothes and personal belongings than fellow residents who dont have family but are wards of the state, but he doesnt have them because I just cant find a way to make things stay in his room. His care is adequate, sufficient for Clearbrook to keep its license with the state, but its nothing exceptional. If thats all a parent or guardian really cares about, its acceptable enough for residential care. I dont think there is life-threatening/health-threatening neglect of any of the residents, nor have I seen any evidence of abuse of any residents. If you have higher standards, however, such as feeling its important for your loved one not to continually lose clothing and other personal belongings, I predict you will be frustrated and disappointed.

AI cant say enough about how wonderful the staff is and what they do. I got my sister in there about a year ago and she is happier now than she ever has been. Oh, did I say she is 63 years old?

Clearbrook is an agency that provides services to children, adults and families impacted by developmental and intellectual disabilities. The agency began in the mid-fifties as the vision of a group of northwest suburban Chicagoland parents in response to the unmet educational needs of their children with special needs.I love this location in Rolling Meadows and I believe it is one of the older out of the other Clearbrook locations in Chicagoland. And as I share this review, I have now been working with the agency for four years as a SLA (Supported Living Assistant) - DSP (Direct Support Professional). It has been a while since I have visited this Clearbrook location in Rolling Meadows. In the past, I have came here for a tuberculosis shot prior to working with Clearbrook, CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training. However, as I share this review my visit was for Fun Fest with my client with Autism. The event itself was amazing with Clearbrook staff and local businesses like Walgreens and UPS catering to our clients and putting smiles on their faces.In the past, I have sought out employment at this Clearbrook location as an Activity Staff, which the Activity Staff plans and carries out special program events, activities and outings for the children and adults at this location. And to this day, the position still captures my interest because I enjoy working with my current client with the agency as a Supported Living Assistant, as well as my other clients with a different agency as a CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement) where every activity we conduct is like a total new adventure.Thomas G
