My recent with Daniel Stern was nothing less than exceptional. Daniel received an inquiry from our tenant and he helped us work through all of the questions we had and advised us with our best interest in mind. Additionally, he was prompt in replying to my emails regardless the time of day or day of the week as many of our interactions took place during the evenings or the weekends. I am very satisfied with the services provided by Renters Warehouse based on the experiences I have had and would recommend them to anyone with a property to lease.

I initially utilized Renters Warehouse to manage my properties in Rochester. They responded immediately to any and all questions/concerns I had. I was able to speak directly with people in the accounting department if I had questions about the monthly statement, which was easy to decipher. They were professional, competent, and a great value. However, about 2-3 years ago, things changed drastically for the worse. A new accounting program was initiated which is designed to obfuscate charges. For example, previously, a rent deposit would appear as “$1300.” Now, it shows up as “$700.99” and on the same or next day ,”$500.01.” Most all charges and distributions show up like that. If you have any questions or concerns about anything, they now have a “Customer Service” representative whose job, it seems, is to placate you while doing nothing to actually solve your issue. You’re not allowed to call accounting directly. It took me over 4 months of calling to get an erroneous charge removed. I’ve had my tenants call me, frustrated with how Renters Warehouse treated them. Renters Warehouse also raised their monthly charges to me twice in one year. I think that should be done at lease renewal, not ad hoc. As a rental property owner, I utilize a property manager to make my life easier. Renters Warehouse added complexity and aggravation. My advice for owners and renters alike, is to utilize another, more professional service. It is truly sad how far they’ve fallen in service and value.

I have worked with Jon from the Rochester Renters Warehouse for about a year and a half and it truly has been one of the best decisions of my professional career. I have been able to continue to grow my real estate business, all the while working 60 hours a week at my job, because Renters Warehouse takes care of everything. Finding quality renters, taking care of inspections and any follow up, repairs, rent, eviction, everything. Jon is professional, personable, timely, and an absolute expert in his field. I sleep soundly at night knowing that my money is truly going to work for me and I look forward to exponential growth in 2015 due to the amazing partnership that I have with Renters Warehouse!

Overall the quality of management was mostly adequate. After reading through previous reviews, it seems as though most reviewers caught onto the systemic communication issues that are prevalent in Renters Warehouse corporate office, being they dont have an established internal communications system. It seems to me if each contract/tenant was treated as a medical patient with a medical record thats capable of being seen by a care team, most of these issues would soon be resolved. Kind of like a delivery tracker that Dominoes uses. If real time follow-up feedback was sent to the corporate office, there could be a better way of tracking where the requests are in their progress. Anyways, I will say this- best to call the local office number for real help. Calling the corporate line is no use, from my experience, especially if they make you wait on hold forever.Another thing with this, and this was the real ticket that burned a hole in my feelings towards their decisions. About half way through our lease, their corporate office decided it was a good idea to switch up their portal system, which includes things like saved methods of autopay for rent among other things. We almost didnt pay our rent one month because of how this wasnt made 100% clear in bold in their notices for switching portal systems. It was a real nuisance.Again, decent service from a tenants perspective, mostly on the maintenance. The owners were kind, mostly towards the maintenance issues that popped up quite continuously. The place we rented was built cheaply and only to code, by which is no fault to RW. That being said, there are a lot of people out there who are unhappy with their service. I always had a good experience working with Jennifer at the local office. Shes a stellar assistant and works tirelessly to mitigate the potential issues between the maintenance team and various lease terms. I was very happy with the work she did and the help she provided. If theres anyone who deserves a healthy raise in pay, its her and Richard, the maintenance technician. Both did extraordinary work and would go above and beyond their duties to personally make sure things were taken care of. They helped make the really good customer service experience happen that I had with this company.

They were good 3 years ago when I signed with them as a landlord (Chris Lock was great). Now, they have gone to hell. My best guess is they have grown too much to keep up with their customers. Late response from them, typically from someone who has no idea what is going on. Very disappointing. Wont go with them again. Also, look at your contract well. If you end up with a tenant who is late, they take all late fees you get nothing even though its you that has to flip the bill for the late rent. They do little to nothing to collect late dues and when its time for a tenant to move out their move out inspection is about useless. Best of luck if you choose to go with them!

Renting through Renters Warehouse has been the absolute worse; I do NOT recommend it. I have rented through them for a year, and although the house is wonderful, the company is horrible. An inspection was scheduled, and no one showed up. They rescheduled, and once again, did not show up. However, after calling them, they claimed they had done the inspection and that they had even talked to me while I was there. Funny, I dont remember any of that happening! Today, I had a maintenance repair scheduled for anytime between 8 and 10 a.m. I called at 8:00, 9:00, and 9:30 to confirm that someone was still coming. Each time, I was assured that someone was on their way. It is now 10:30, and I am on the phone with Renters Warehouse. They deny ever receiving a maintenance request. They also deny any of my previous phone calls from earlier today. When bringing up the multiple emails about the maintenance repair, they denied sending those, although I had them pulled up while on the phone. They are now asking that I take yet another day off to be home for the repair, and are not willing to work with my schedule. They also cannot give me the companys name that is making the repair so that when I do reschedule, I can call myself to confirm. If you are looking to rent in Rochester, avoid doing so through Renters Warehouse at all costs.Edit: I ended up speaking with 7 different people over the phone. Nothing was being resolved, so I made an appointment with a maintenance repair company myself. I am guessing I will have to pay for the repair. So, if you rent through Renters Warehouse, expect to pay for any appliance repairs yourself, and know that Renters Warehouse does not require the home owners to fix any broken appliances (including microwaves, washing machines, and toilets), even if the renter is not what caused the appliances to quit working.

I agree with several reviews I have read thus far! I have been dealing with renters warehouse for a little over a week. So far they have scheduled me 2 showings and have not showed up to either one. My husband and I paid $110 for application fees and havent got a response or email to what has happen or what is going on with the application. At one point there phones were not working, now when I call there is an automatic message that prompts me to select what I need and I will be contacted to a live person.Been calling everyday still not able to reach anyone at that number. By the way I saw reviews that mention several different names of people that helped them out at renters warehouse, I am pretty sure they no longer work for that company.

Alex Bump was a complete joke. Talked to him 3 days ago, scheduled a showing for Tuesday. Called him on Tuesday morning to confirm the appointment, said that we could meet on Wednesday instead. I then go to the property at the scheduled time on Wednesday, wait until 5 minutes after to text. I receive no response. I then call numerous times and end up leaving the property 30 minutes after our scheduled time.He then messages me 5 hours later, telling me that he will be in town on Friday. No apology for not showing up. I may have been slightly frustrated with him and wanted to make sure he knew I was, and he cancels the appointment for Friday.Stay away from these guys. There may be a good one or two working for this company, but if you look at news surrounding the company, as well as other reviews, it is very clear that Renters Warehouse is a group of amateur property managers.

I must say relocating and moving was my least favorite thing, that was until I met Jon from Renters Warehouse.Last month we received notice from our landlord they were going to be selling our home of 10 years. Considering the fact I just started a new job, the last thing I wanted to deal with now is spending every free hour I had looking for new home.Lucky for me by chance I overheard a colleague raving about how Renters Warehouse found the perfect place for her family.I immediately contacted Renters Warehouse, and it was quite obvious Jon heard the anxiety in my voice - he quickly assured me I had nothing to worry about, stating it was his job to make this process of finding a new home easy for me. He then asked me a few general questions of the area we were interested in and the features we were hoping to find in our ideal home.To my surprise when we met in person the following day he already had a hand full of homes for me to view on his laptop. By the weekend my wife and I were standing in a home that was more then we have ever expected to find - and the best part our rent was less then we were previously paying.I cant begin to share how easy Jon and his team made this transition for my family and I. We are MORE then satisfied customers!! Thank U again Jon!!

A house that I couldnt even see inside? Really poor communication and organization. I tried not to go by the reviews and do it anyways but ended up reviews are true. Really sad and disappointing...

Initially I was very unsure about renting out my house and dealing with all the hassles youd expect to come along with being a landlord. I was referred to Renters Warehouse by a co-worker who had had a very positive experience. My house was rented 3 days after the initial listing; now 4 years later, I have embarked on purchasing another rental property as an investment and additional monthly income.Jon Ortner at Renters Warehouse has been instrumental in guiding and educating me about the best rental markets and what renters are looking for. Jon has an astute sense of the rental market and has given very accurate, timely, and realistic rental quotes. I have been able to re-rent my property within weeks of needing a new tenant for the exact amount Jon quoted. Jon and Renters Warehouse have exceeded my expectations, and made being a landlord easy.

Done with Renters Warehouse FOREVER! I am so excited I just cashed my deposit check that I finally received from them. What a nightmare it is to work with them. I dont know if they are crooks or just super bad communicators. From February 2017 to August 2018 I dealt with a Kami, Kate, Richard, Kurt, Kelli, Sarah, Stephanie and had communication issues with all. The agents are the worst. I started with Kami who disappeared one day and ended with Kurt who did not answer my texts about my deposit return until I threatened legal action. When I was looking for a new place to live, if it was managed by Renters Warehouse I wouldnt even look at it. They are so bad at what they do, it is not even worth the stress of dealing with them. If you have to deal with them, keep every text, email, and document. I needed to use this documentation several times.

First off, I will say that the people at RW and the acquisition team are generally good. The individuals work hard and care. The problems however, are systemic, and cannot be solved by any one employee at the company. We are out of state, so rely heavily on our property management company. We have multiple properties across the country and this is by far the worst property management company we have ever worked with. After reading the other reviews on here, I am convinced that the 1 star reviews are real, and most of the positive reviews are either fake (left by employees or friends of RW) or are reviews for their aquisition team and not their management team. There is no way that someone could be even slightly satisfied with their management branch. The property management branch is in completed disarray. We had problems at every stage of our experience over the last few years. The different departments do not properly communicate with each other so we had to continuously call and remind various people assigned to our property (for instance leasing, maintenance, customer service, etc) that we asked for something to be done. Their reply was usually you need to request this from our ____ department, do you want their number?. This resulted in countless miscommunications internal to RW which proved to be very costly to us, and a general lack of follow through / responsiveness across the board. There really are too many issues to list in this review, but let it suffice to say that there were probably 10+ separate incidences. We gave RW plenty of chances to come through, and were continually let down. Our property in Rochester lost significant money (the only property we are taking losses on) due strictly to poor management. Here is just one most recent exampled which was the last straw for us which led us to firing RW and going with a new property management company. They placed bad tenants in our property and failed to confirm they put the utilities in their name (since September). They never bothered to follow up on this, and the utility company finally got a hold of us (as owner) and told us that the tenants were not only not paying any utility bills and owed around $1,500, they also had very high levels of water usage since September which implied there is a leak in the property. RWs response was it is in the tenants lease to pay the utilities.... We are in an eviction with the tenants who havent been paying rent, and now we get to pick up their utility bills as well. Not only that, the high water usage was in fact due to a leak which has been causing damage to our property since the tenants have been there. I asked RW to send someone to do a full inspection and confirm everything has been fixed, and to check the meter to ensure there are no further leaks. I received a call from a random plumber that RW hired asking me for payment for fixing the sink.... I talked to the plumber who was at the house and he said there was a lot of damage under the sink and floor that was caused by the leak. Several weeks later, still no contact from RW about what sort of damage has been caused, what work was done, what other work needs to be done, confirmation that the leaks were fixed, etc. Then today I just received a call from the utility company again stating that the water usage was even higher this month implying that there probably is an additional leak somewhere in the house that has not been fixed.I am in touch with legal council about next steps against RW. Please save yourself from this experience and choose any other Property Management company.

I do not post reviews usually. However, I had to do this time due to the serious lack of communication skills their office manager, Kay Postier has. It seems that he takes everything negative out of my good-will offer even for the best interest of home owner. I offered half cost of the professional lawn care service to remove excessive weeds that existed even before my stay and that I have no responsibility on as their sales person mentioned. I also offered an extend of lease contract so that I could do the care for weeds for longer time on my own if home owner does not buy my offer. Now, he is saying that I stated if the home owner would not pay at least half, that you would plan to move.!!! What a joke? Also, he says I should ignore what I was told from their previous sales person during the inspection/lease contract - just mow it, no worries regarding the care about weeds. Who should I believe during the lease contract? Please check recent reviews in Yelp, they are all 1/5 these days. And some of them obviously designate communication failures as the problem. I do not think this is a temporary problem.Do not believe their sales persons. Do not believe their office manager will believe what you heard from their sales person. He will be even more negative and offensive than you expect.

My wife and I Rented a NEW Construction Townhouse on 61st ST NW in Rochester, Mn. We were in the process of building a new home and wanted a place we could rent with zero, I repeat Zero headaches. Well, that didnt happen and Renters Warehouse of Rochester and the owner of the townhouse we rented, offered TERRIBLE service. I believe the owners last name is Dias, for those wondering. (Keep in mind they refused to give me the owners name). (I know it is public record so I will get in touch with someone to get me the correct info)Anyways...Within a short period of moving in the washing machine went nuts. It was violently shaking out of control. Nothing was working correctly. Remember, this is new construction with new appliances etc... We contacted Renters Warehouse and was directed to contact GE. Wait, why the heck would I need to do that? We pay HOA fees and a premium for their services. Why on earth am I making these phone calls? After several phone calls, forgotten appointments on their part and forgotten follow up on their part, GE and Renters Warehouse finally got someone to come out. They tried to fix the washer twice and still it didnt work. After 6 months... Yes 6 months, they finally replaced the washer. Another thing to keep in mind is that we rented the townhouse for 9 months! We paid an extremely high premium to have these services available to us and the service was terrible. On top of that we had to take off work several times to meet someone for appointments and no one showed. The annoying part was having to do laundry somewhere else while still paying a premium for this place and not compensation for the headaches. After our lease was up, we moved out and cleaned the townhouse better than when we moved in. I am sure you have heard that before, but seriously this place was spotless. I wanted to make sure we would get all of our security deposit back with no headaches. Again, that was a flippn issue. After waiting for our deposit, I called to see where it was. They said they will send me out and invoice regarding the amount we can expect to receive after deductions of services deemed necessary for the next tenant. Excuse me what??? You plan on keeping part of my deposit??? Are you on drugs or something???I finally received the statement. On the statement it showed $150 deduction for dryer service maintenance. What the heck does that even mean? Its a new appliance. The place is less than a year old and you are charging me for maintenance? I called and emailed several times about this and no one could give me an answer nor submit an invoice to me. Seems fishy. Better yet, the owner is avoiding all phone calls. Coward! It took them a month to get me my deposit and their excuse was it kept getting sent back to them since the post office couldnt find my new address. Weird, we get all of our mail with no problems so why would I not receive yours.I would never recommend these townhouses to anyone nor would I EVER recommend Renters Warehouse as a service for anything. Renters beware! Do not I repeat Do not use these services. The people who own these places will never speak to you. You will be at the mercy of this company and the answers they give you are never satisfactory. If I could leave ZERO Stars I would have!

I have to disagree with a previous comment. Kay Postier managed several of my properties for a number of years. I have learned from experience that when someone has a complaint about her, it is because they received an answer they didnt like, or were expected to adhere to my community rules. My husband and I had to move our family asap due to our landlord selling her rental property. We contacted renters warehouse and looked at a property in red wing, mn.We told the lady we were very interested in renting it. We paid for ALL 5 of our family members the application fees. After this, we didnt hear back from our rep for 3 wks even after I contacted her several times and left numerous voice mails explaining that our time of 60 days is running out. It got to be where I had to look at craigslist rentals on my own. After I finally found a place 2 days before our deadline to vacate the premises,She finally returns my phone call and asks if we are still interested in the rental we looked at in Red Wing?I told her no, I had found another place to live and would like to have my money back that we spent on their applications. She I formed me that she could do that for us. That was 3 mths ago, still have not received any money from them. My husband and I had a great experience renting a place (top floor of a house) in Rochester through RentersWarehouse. We needed to find a place and secure it before our arrival from France, without even seeing it in person. The process was smooth and made least stressful for us, thanks to all the systems agency has in place (we could skype with the agent beforehand and ask all the questions, sign a lease remotely and pay a deposit online). We have worked with Brian Pettit, an agent most professional and efficient and with excellent people skills. Our arrival plans shifted multiple times, and Brian was able to accommodate these changes. We ended up moving in at 6 pm on December 31st, and Brian took time to welcome us and give us a tour of the house. The place turned out to be very nice. were happy with it and with the support weve had from the agency. We could only recommend Brian and RentersWarehouse.
