Im usually very happy with their service, but had a poor experience today. I arrived at 5:32 pm (I thought they were open until 6 pm, but they closed at 5:30) to pick up our portable generator. There was an employee speaking with another customer at his truck. The employee went into the store, and I approached the door. He came out, didnt make eye contact, and said, Were closed. I asked if he could help me, but he walked past me and said he already shut down the computers. Disappointed at his approach to me, I drove away. Might be looking for another lawn equipment store. I take accountability that I showed up as they were closing, but I also own a business and would have handled my customer differently.

I have driven past this place many times, and have be told the people there are great. Well I can Semi-disagree. Customer Service was always been iffy over the phone. I pause for 1 second, and they hang up on me sometimes. Seems like they don’t want to serve their customers. I bought a Toro 22” Lawn Mower here about 6-7 months ago. And at about 17 hours (1 month of use) it had problems. Was surging and RPMS were low. On a Brand New Mower! Also it would chug white smoke (indicator of too much oil). Keep in mind that this was all setup for me in the backroom of the store by the employees. I had a problem with it on a jobsite, called them, got a quick “bring it in.” from the lady at the counter, Then they hung up quickly afterwards. The guy I dealt with was very pessimistic. When I brung the mower in, he was like okay. “You sure you didn’t add oil” Of course I didn’t, you’re guys set it up in the back. Come to find out there was too much oil (no figure) and the RPMS were low and they adjusted them. The guy that took my mower wouldn’t believe me and wasn’t trying to take the Blame. I got it back about a week later, still has a surging problem.

Great shop. They dont have a massive inventory of new equipment, however can order anything and have it in the store pretty quickly. Has a great parts selection for maintenance and repairs as well. One of the few Deere and Stihl dealers in the same store.

Love this place! I do tree work and when I need a new chain or bar they seem to always have it in stock. The staff is knowledgeable about the products they sale and service. I was able to pick up a used chain saw that goes for $600-$1000 or more from them for $250. They don’t usually have lots of used equipment but when they do it’s in better condition and for less than what is being sold online.

This place is the best! I had been doing business with RLE for years. The sales staff are very supportive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They always stand behind what they sell. The mechanics in back are excellent and Ive never had an issue with repaired equipment. They have always tried to expedite repairs when Ive needed a quick turnaround. I called quite a few places looking for regular maintenance service on my commercial mowers,everyone was booked out for 2 weeks. Rochester lawn equipment center was the only place that was able to make an appointment to do routine service to my equipment. With minimal down time. I would highly recommend them to any other professional company out as well as any residential customers to Rochester lawn equipment center.

I bought an (what turned out to be defective) ignition module for my Stihl weed whip. After a short discussion, they exchanged the bad part for a good one. I installed the new part in their parking lot & it started on the first pull.Thanks to the 2 gentlemen who helped me, unfortunately, I didn’t get their names.RLE will continue to be my “go to” place as it has been for several years!

I go there for cheap stuff like chainsaw bar dressing and blade sharpening. I cant afford anything new but if I could I would buy there. They give advice on DIY repairs as stated by another review. Nice cats as in other review. They have been there for decades and have earned customer loyalty.

This place is amazing! Lawnmower broke last night and they had the part in stock, did an oil change and repair by noon for super cheap. Will come back for all my lawnmower and snowblower needs!

I waited 10 days to get my mower back and it still doesnt work. It has the same problem as when I dropped it off. Waste of $77 and a wasted 10 days.

Called to verify if they would perform a warranty inspection on a snow blower as they are listed in the MTD website as an authorized service center. Was told rudely they do service, but not warranty work. Caled the next location on the list and they were happy to assist.

Had all of the parts I needed for my tecumseh motor for my 2 stage snow blower, fast and courteous service, definitely will be back again for future parts.

Rochester lawn equipment is my goto for parts, service and advice. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. When a friend was having trouble with his riding lawnmower, i learned they even have a small trailer for loan to transport an ailing mower to their facility for repairs.

I guess I really like the place. First went there 15-18 yrs ago based on a recommendation of a friend who used them frequently and whose opinion I trust. Bought a Deere push mower from them years ago.Their prices were the lowest around or pretty close to it. Surprised the heck out of me. Not what youd expect from a retail store in Rochester. I found their parts prices to be fair compared to the competition (but Deere prices have creeped pretty high lately- thats on Deere not them). They prepped the mower and explained its use briefly. I ordered it with the oil filter kit and the kid assembling it forgot to install it so they did it on the spot-good, 5 min wait, no biggie, only a turd would complain. One problem though, the kid installing it stripped out a mount bolt and I didnt catch it till next season. Never complained since it hasnt worked loose in 15 yrs, that one is not on them.Bought parts and stuff from them repeatedly, and even received helpful guidance on DIY repairs. Took time to check parts for me (small inexpensive ones too) over the phone and thats unusual for any company. Sold me an extra service manual they didnt need - cheaply. Going out of their way to be decent. Always found it a pleasure going there. Cats there are friendly too lol. One of those places that if youre friendly, they are too.Im sure most of the problems people have with dealers are service related and I didnt have to resort to that ever, but Im betting based on my other experiences there over the last 15 yrs, it would be a fair and decent relationship if I had to bring something in. If they do everything else very well and treat you fair, I expect they cant be too far off the mark when it comes to service. I will say this, if I have to go for service somewhere, and they will service that brand of equipment I have, I will go to Rochester Lawn.

Was told by Echo customer service that they were the local service provider to contact to fix my weed trimmer. Called in the morning to confirm and the guy confirmed they service Echo. He told me to bring it in along with my receipt... took time out of my day to get this done only to be told that they dont honor Echo warranty work once I got there. Ridiculous
