I should preface this review with the fact that I am a home inspector. My wife and I are purchasing a home in Richmond Hill and we required a home inspection. On the day the inspector arrived, I was able to identify some major issues using only simple inspection tools; a flashlight, probe, and mirror. These issues included a bisection crack in a concrete slab, major corrosion at the service entry panel, settled blown-in insulation in the wall cavities, nail-pops throughout the home, significant rot around a 2nd story window, stairs that were not to code (undersized tread depth), no handrail at stairs, and an undersized landing. These were just some of the significant concerns.During Erics inspection he asked me about what I had found. Except for the crack, he had not observed the other issues. The only reason they made it into the report was because I showed them to him. He still missed the stairs, landing, nail-pops, rot, and most importantly the insulation issue. But he was able to find that the light for the kitchen exhaust hood was out. I believe that the only reason he got onto the roof is because I asked if he had seen it yet, to which he replied no.Needless to say, we were displeased with the inspection and asked for our money back so that we could hire a second inspector. Eric was pretty rude to my wife when they spoke on the phone and said Good luck concerning the refund. He told her that they only look for safety hazards, and that they werent code-enforcers. If that was the case he would have mentioned the undersized stair treads (fall hazard), the undersized landing (fall hazard), and the deteriorated brick at the back steps (trip hazard). He would have worded the corroded service panel issue to reflect the electrical hazard it posed.Home inspectors arent hired to only find safety hazards; they are hired to find anything that may be a detriment to a long-term investment to include safety hazards, premature deterioration, rot, recalled items, maintenance issues, leaks, wood destroying insects, etc. Building codes are written for a reason. Cingo Home Inspection is a style of home inspection franchise known in the industry as sugar-coaters or omitters. They rely on agents to refer them to clients. Agents and brokers typically do not like to refer inspectors that are deal-killers. So, inspectors must tread a fine line between the two; calling out all major concerns in a home without making it look like the home will explode or collapse as soon as they sign the paperwork. They carry a hefty insurance policy and have lawyers that protect them from lawsuits making recourse very difficult for the homebuyer.I didnt expect Cingo to find every single issue with the home, but I did expect them to find the major ones that I was able to identify with my simple tools. Eric showed up with a toolkit that I did not see him open once. I never saw him with a flashlight in his hand. Nor did I see him use a moisture meter. I would not recommend this company to inspect your home, or your dogs home. Do your research before hiring an inspector. I did, and we still ended up with Eric.We received a full refund, and absolutely no liberties were taken with my review.

Very upset with Cingo. I paid them $75 to do a termite inspection/letter for the sale of our house. Unfortunately, the buyers backed out but I figured Id keep the appointment anyway for a future sale. Inspection day comes, no technician shows up. It turns out Cingo allowed the buyers realtor to cancel the appointment even though I was the one who paid for the inspection, and they never even let me know.We reschedule, the inspector claimed to find some evidence of termites in our attic, but tells my husband he didnt see any live bugs. He says he will have to do a treatment and will give us a call. I get in touch with Darren at Cingo, who then tells me that the inspectors report states that there ARE live termites and a more involved extermination must be done for about $675.Frustrated with the whole experience, I had different company come and do another inspection. They were unable to find ANY evidence of termites, let alone live bugs. I had them do our inspection letter instead. The only right thing Cingo did was offer to refund my $75 without me having to ask.

Cingo and the inspector, Chase Still, provided a very detailed inspection of my home. Chase was extremely helpful in going over the inspection details and even helped clarify and resolve an issue with my home warranty company. I would highly recommend this business.

So this company also does home inspections, I had Chase Still come over and he was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was able to make an appointment with in days and everything went smoothly. Chase was a great guy and took us around the home and explained everything that he found wrong. We will definitely be recommending them to everyone we know looking for an inspection and I’m looking forward to using their pest control service in the short future.

While mowing a customers lawn the guy in the truck pulled into the driveway blocking the driveway and parking on the debris my partner was blowing. Then the guy got mad that debris was being blown his way and threw down his little spray gun and got all up in my partners face. The customer was standing there while they were both arguing and the spray guy from cingo was literally about to fight. He got up in my partners face and when he asked him to move he said I aint movin!! like a little kid. Not professional at all and extremely pitiful handling of the entire situation. The guy could have easily parked in the street instead of in our work area and getting up in someones face is no way to handle a situation, especially not when a customer is watching everything.
