The nursery that feeds so many of the Bays best nurseries -- how can you go wrong? On your first visit be sure to find an employee when you walk in so they can give you a how-to about finding what youre looking for.If you are not in the mood to browse the aisles and aisles of wonderful plants, you can check out what they have online ahead of time and make a list for a more directed shopping trip. If youre looking for indoor plants you might want to look elsewhere, because Annies is pretty much all outdoor.Everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help, so come with your questions.Even if youre not in the market for new garden materials, its a nice way to spend an hour just looking at beautiful plants and flowers. Its peaceful and rather meditative to meander through their gardens.

An outdoor plant lovers dream. Can be overwhelming how many plants there are to choose from. A great place to spend the afternoon. Parking lot might be slightly limited at peak times, but theres street within short walking distance.Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, speedy checkout even on busy days. Everything is well labeled and price is color coded.Tip: Snap a photo of your plants description card or take a catalog for care instructions. To save water and avoid buying a plant that wont be happy in your area, check the zoning or just look for labels like clay tolerant, drought tolerant, native, low maintenance, easy for sure bets.

Wow! There are so many plants. Every plant has a photo and full description. You can make a well informed decision. The plants are very reasonable. You are not going to find the same plants that you do at the big stores- you find wild and unique plants. You will get lost! In the best possible way. If you cannot make it you can order online (I did probably 6 or 7 times before visiting). And the staff are everywhere and so helpful. Thank you Annie, I am so excited for my yards!

Easy for me to find my happy place here. If you go there do some homework online first. This is not a big box nursery, this is the real deal. Your experience will be better if you have some idea as to what you are looking for.Driving by the reservoir on San Pablo Dam road on my way there is relaxing but if you cant get there in person, Annies ships their plants right to your door. I have been shopping there online and in person for a least ten years and would recommend this nursery to any one that cares about gardening.

I recently placed my first order with Annies for 4 plants. They arrived very well packaged and healthy in 4 containers. The box was clearly labeled live plants so the shipper knew how to handle. Im super impressed with my whole experience. From price, ordering, delivery and the quality of the plants, everything was perfect.

Annies fills a critical void in the Bay Area retail nursery trade. With an inventory that is predominantly 4, its easy to overindulge with purchases that do not take up a lot of room in the car. The species diversity really cant be found anywhere else. Despite the name, Annies also carries perennials and shrubs.Another key feature of Annies is their use of display plants that can help purchasers visualize the plants as they grow. A modest facility, they can pack a colorful punch into anyones garden.Dont feel like making the trek? Consider mail-order or see if your local nursery carries Annies inventory. You have a lot of choices in this space.

One of my favorite places to get plants! They have a great setup for safety during the pandemic and their workers are so helpful. Their quantity and quality of plants is amazing and we always end up buying more plants as they make it so easy to find more than you are looking for. Their quirky art also makes for great pictures and entertaining children.

Great place to visit to get natives and other unique plants that are drought tolerant and some that resist animal eating them. Plenty of plants to attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Large area containing thousands of plants. Plants for all seasons and sun light needs. They have everything from succulents, tropicals, some vegetables and fruit trees. They dont carry things like big box type trees and shrubs. More in the cottage garden type plants. This is a commercial nursery that lets the general public in. They require masks now and cards only to pay. They display there plants wonderfully in a garden by entrance and on ends of aisles. Very helpful staff. Its in an out of the way place in Richmond and if you werent looking for it you would miss it. By the busy railroad tracks and a car pick n pull type site. Parking can get tight on weekends.

I am a new customer to Annies annuals and perennials. I discovered her from another plant friend/nursery owner. I have gotten two shipments now. All my plants have been neatly packaged with care and healthy looking upon arrival. I love getting unusual and new varieties. I have gotten things a bit more tender but I bring them in till our mountain air location warms up. My first deliver has been flurishing. I am really pleased with my product and the colorful magazine the easy to buy website. Highly recommend Id give them 5 stars but I have noticed they do run out of stock so buy fast. Happy planting.

Annies is an iconic nursery in a world of horticultural suppliers who have sold out to big box chains sacrificing quality and service and genuine product for profit. From the beginning, Annie says always had great customer service, impressive information and graphics, superior plant products of genuine and unique quality and artistic presentation through their display gardens. Ive seen it grow from a small operation into a diverse business catering nurseries and retailers the area as well as filling peoples gardens with beauty.

Fantastic friendly spot, BUT... if you are looking for Non GMO or Organic edibles you are looking in the wrong place by coming here. None of their starts have labels for these, I asked why and it’s because they use synthetic additives to their specialized soil. Sorry but NO THANK YOU. I love the variety of beautiful flowers, and it is nice that they ship. I also appreciate that if a plant dies right away they will give you a credit (but do not like that the creidt can only be used in person... if I ship, that means I do not shop in person). My main problem is that when I placed a large order and most of the plants died, when I called to discuss the issue/ find out what I could do differently next time, I was told Well, you should never plant those plants at your location this time of year. So Annies sold me plants they knew would die. This doesnt sit right with me. I dont think I will even go back.

First off after spending hours looking online for nurseries, I found their website. It was such a relief to navigate their awesome site. They let me search by my zone and the water need and the fact I needed shade plants. Because their webiste made shopping so easy, I spent too much money, but thats on me haha. I was super excited to get some fun plants. They were delivered today and WOW really such a great job packing them. They all look so healthy and in such a great condition. I purchased several plants last year from this site as I really found some very unique plants that really caught my attention. I have a heavily landscaped yard with many flowers, trees and shrubs and I am always on the lookout for things not typical for this location. I live in central SC and am rated zone 8b and several plants have not faired well. One after a short period of time and two others did not last through a very mild winter here. When checking back with this seller, they only guarantee plants for 30 days which really is like saying there are no returns because the plant has to virtually arrive dead before you could qualify. Although this website has great selections, they dont stand behind their plants at all so buyer beware. Even the local big box stores carry a one year guarantee as long as you bring back the dead plant. I suspect their zone ratings may not be accurate as the items that are doing poorly and died were all supposed to be hardy in this zone but they arent.

Wow, from the moment you step into Annies youre taken back by the amount of plants available. Within a minute of entering a very friendly representative was there to give an orientation of the nursery; lay out of rows and columns, color coded prices, what the notes on the description meant and where to look up plants by latin name. As my family and I perused the aisles a service rep was always ready if we had questions. Seriously, one of the friendliest plant nurseries Ive ever set foot in.The selection of plants available is numerous, although if you have a certain plant in mind I would call ahead of time to double check availability. It was nice to see how many CA natives were available along with more drought resistant plants. The prices are fair for being the quality assured with each item. We left with 10 plants ; mid-range in price for roughly $70. I will be coming back to Annies due to the the amazing customer service and selection.

Ordered online for delivery. I visited Annies one time in 2019 and loved the layout. Due to pandemic limitations I ordered online for delivery this time around. Everything (30+plants) was delivered in excellent condition. I was initially dismayed to see a lot of what looked like styrofoam peanuts but they are clearly labeled as bio degradable and compostable, suitable for the green bins. I am VERY impressed with the quality of the plants and service from Annies. They have a large variety of plants I guarantee you wont find at your local garden center - and were named as a favorite by Martha Stewart herself. 5 stars.

I called Annie’s Annual and tried to purchase 4 of the same plant over the phone. I would pay by credit card. I told the person a relative would pick up the plants the next day. I live several counties away. The employee told me I absolutely could not do that. The only way I could get the plants was have my relative shop at the nursery and pay for them there. I asked if they could set the plants aside. My relative could buy them the next day. The employee said no. Either my relative go through the nursery and find the plants on her own and pay for them OR I order them on line. This business is NOT consumer friendly.

This was my second experience in mail-order plant delivery. My previous experience was with another nursery (not Annies) where the plants arrived in a pathetic, so-so condition that required months of rehab before they started looking healthy and this was after overnight express delivery. I gave that competitive nursery a C- or D+ grade at best...Annies was my second experience - wow! what a difference in how the plants arrived and how healthy they are. The plants I received from Annies were first-class and ready to go! Yes, I would certainly recommend Annies to anyone. An A+ grade for quality and service for sure.My only recommendation to Annies is: it would be helpful if your delivery service sent notification about an expected delivery date & time. My plants arrived a day-earlier than expected and luckily, I saw the box by the front door before the sun damaged them. Other than that minor oversight, Annies did a perfect job! Thank You!

I went to ask if they could please have another cashier but the person I talked to was pretty rude, told me were short staffed. Yet I saw many workers, not just nursery workers, also customer service people hanging out.Annie: do not take your customers for granted. Thats unacceptable to make people wait 30 minutes to buy plants. This is my last time buying from your nursery until you resolve this issue. Theres one nursery very close, with native plants, that is much less corporate-oriented. Shame on you and your team for speaking so rudely and in a condescended manner to customers.
