IOS training was interesting and educating. It covered a lot of ground in a short amount of time without feeling rushed.

I absolutely loved the class I took! Any instructor can teach you how to program but learning with Jonathan taught me why Objective-C is so powerful. We were informed of common mistakes that could arise during development thanks to the years of experience our instructor had. From a programmer’s perspective, this can save a lot of frustration and (more importantly) time. Not only are the lessons rich, they’re laid out in a way to where its actually understandable. Theres also a lot of little shortcuts that Jonathan shared with me that made the iOS programming experience that much more enjoyable. I never thought I could learn so much about Objective-C and iOS in such a short time! I have tried learning development in Apples ecosystem before in a self taught manner but found that I wasnt able to make sense of it all. My instructor Jonathan was incredibly knowledgeable in Objective-C and iOS and taught the course in a manner that demystified a bunch of the key concepts at play in the Apple development ecosystem. We started with establishing foundational knowledge in objective-c and how it works underneath the hood. This foundation proved to be very useful for the rest of the week as we dived into using UiKit framework for iOS, as there are many aspects of iOS development that are not immediately clear without knowing how objective-c works.I absolutely recommend this course for iOS developer training!

Hes not just teaching you the basics of the language and the framework; but goes in-depth on what Apple is doing and why - all with the knowledge of someone that has years of experience with the tools, and who also has great teaching skills. I took the “iOS Development with Swift: Comprehensive” course with Jonathan Lehr and About Objects. I highly recommend this course if you are interested in getting a jump start in modern iOS development or even if you’re a relatively experienced iOS developer.The class runs for 7 days. We spent the first two days learning some Swift fundamentals, The remaining 5 days were spent putting our newfound Swift knowledge to use building some iOS apps. Expect to spend a lot of time in Xcode – while About Objects makes sample projects from classes available, you won’t make much use of the sample projects in class. Jonathan will walk you through creating iOS apps completely from scratch instead of using the sample projects.Johnathan is very much into teaching you the “right” way to do things and how Swift, Xcode, Cocoa, and Cocoa Touch work behind the scenes. I’ve been an Objective-C developer off and on for about 6 years and Jonathan was still able to teach me a ton about Xcode and Cocoa. His background in Apple development dates all the way back to NEXTSTEP and because of this, he has an incredible depth of knowledge in the “right” way to do iOS development. He has a knack for showing you a relatively complex way of completing a given task, just to show you how it works behind the scenes, then showing you how to refactor the task to make it a lot simpler. I think that even if you consider yourself a relatively experienced Swift developer and you take this class, Jonathan is going to teach you things you didn’t know. Several times during the week, my colleague and I had several “eureka” moments when Jonathan showed us tricks with Swift or Xcode.In summary, if you want to quickly get up to speed on iOS development, but you want to start off knowing how to do things the right way, you can’t go wrong with training from About Objects. Even if you have some Swift experience, you should still consider their training. Highly recommended.

Very detailed class just wanted more examples for apps but very useful

As a novice to application development, I was not sure what or where I needed to begin to strength my skills to support a demanding DevOps team. After being recommended by Apple engineers to About Objects, Inc. It was clear on the first day of class for iOS Development in Swift, that Jonathan Lehr and his team were the right choice for me. In a few days, I was able to become sufficiently familiar with the general Swift language structure and with the correlation to its Objective-C backbone that makes up iOS development. Throughout the course we cover many topics, ranging from Swift best practices, syntax, concepts, xCode tool sets, Interface Builder and Storyboards. The hands-on attitude and 30 years of experience that Jonathan brought to the table was priceless in guiding me through a comprehensive 7-day course. I look forward to eventually attending more classes with About Objects, Inc as my career progresses.
