While waiting outside for season rentals as we were told, the blond lady managing the line decided it was more important to talk to a man her age instead of managing the line for season rentals.While she was too busy, three groups of customers were able to cut in the line setting us back 47 minutes. All she said was, sorry....time isnt money here and their customer service from this incident was very poor, especially since we were directed to wait outside.The kiosks were easy enough to check-in, they dont sanitize the workstations but they have sanititizer available to sanitize your hands after touching the community Kiosk.The young man at rentals was friendly and helpful and the rest of the rental experience was good, despite a complete waste of 47 minutes.The retail shop was full of gear and checkout was easy.

I came in here to look for snowboarding gear (mostly boots). Im new in the snowboarding game so I dont have a lot of knowledge except for the research Ive done. At first, I couldnt find anyone to help me because there were quite a few people getting helped, but I finally got some help and it was worth the wait. Tasha was very accommodating and has very excellent customer service skills. She has a lot of solid knowledge on snowboarding and she was incredibly helpful. She got me the most amazing pair of boots and I am so happy with my purchase and I got an amazing deal. They have really reasonable prices here. All-in-all I had a great experience and I will continue to do business with them in the future. Thank you Bobos and thank you Tasha for such a great experience! ❤🏂

Local favorite (recommended by 3 locals), helpful staff, deals on last year models and makes. I went in for sizing and walked out with a killer deal on new board, boots, bindings and helmet.

Great location and really easy to get to. I came from Northstar specifically for a new pair of Atomic skis that had limited edition Grateful Dead Artwork. Bobo’s was the only place in a 100 mile radius to have them and sold out online.The store is massive and super well staffed. Felt busy but could still get service quickly. Got the skis within a minute and brought my own bindings to have mounted. Paul got them sorted within a half hour and was able to pick them up the same day and ski right away. Super happy with the mount and the inventory here!

Decent selection, very friendly and helpful staff. Great techs in the shop. Prices are mixed- you can find some bargains if you look. Wold have gotten 5 stars from me, but they did make 1 mistake. I bought boots and bindings.On their advice , I got medium bindings for the boots I bought . WRONG SIZE. Had to drive back 30 miles the next day to exchange them for large to fit my boot.

We have been incredibly impressed by BoBo’s! We bought most of our gear there and then decided to rent for a week before we decide on what to buy. When we got to the resort, we found out that the guy who set our equipment up had not adjusted 2 of our sets of skis to the boots. The resort fixed them for us and when we returned, I shared with BoBo’s what had occurred. I was really impressed! In addition to taking responsibility for the mistake, they reimbursed us. We will buy our equipment from them and continue to refer others to them. Honesty, customer service, and knowledge matter!

If you want to get a snowboard, bindings, boots or anything in general. I probably would rate him as the best person whom has given me customer service in any type of store. I told him my needs and budget and respected my wishes. He took his time I finding what I needed and I came out of the store with a snowboard, bindings, boots, socks and googles for about 800.00 . The place is clean and the atmosphere is nice. Im from out of town and have no ties to this store. Henry was extremely passionate and diligent about his job. If he wanted to he probably could of convinced me to spend another 500.00. That dude is solid!

Inventory very low because of post covid buying, pricey in previous years when there was something to buy. Still, better quality than to be found at department stores.

I came in because I am a beginner snowboarder and I bought a used snowboard online, and it didnt feel right. Henry was very helpful and nice and helped me to trade in my board for one that was my size, and fixed my bindings/stance. Definitely will come in again!

Bobos never disappointments! Their selection and customer service is amazing. They do a couple great sales throughout the year (labor day is awesome!) And you can generally score a deal on last seasons goods.They also support great programs in the community like moms on the run!

Asa beginner coming here was a great experience. The staff was very knowledgeable and very kind. I needed to pick up a pair of skis and boots to start up during their clearance and even though it wasn’t their main focus at the time they still helped me get a great deal and I didn’t feel like I was getting ripped off like at other places. Highly recommend because their knowledge is unmatched.

My son had his boots adjusted here at bobos Mike Hume and John Hume were excellent these are foot experts they not only solve the problem with the ski boots but were very diligent and went out of their way to make sure that the boots fit properly service at bobos is in a word fabulous.

Worst store in Tahoe area. I have tried to find things I’m looking for off and on since ‘95 but I never bought anything from them. Bad customer service, unknowledgeable employees, poor selection of gear. I called recently and asked for something specific, was told it was in stock. I drove out of my way and when I got to the shop and asked for my item, some old man laughed and said you won’t find that here. Thanks for you help. Stick to patio furniture

Bobos is probably the most infamous ski rental place in town. I brought many guests coming to visit here to rent skis for the weekend or season. Staff and Pat a great and will surely fit you with an awesome pair of boots and skis or snowboard for the season.Id recommend this place anyone is looking for guidance in terms of beginner or intermediate skis. If youre looking for Moore Advanced offerings, Ski Haus in Truckee is probably your best bet.Overall highly recommend great service overall

My husband and I just got done getting our snowboard set up. Taylor help us, he was great, spent almost 2 hours answering any and all questions. We will defiantly reccomened this place to all of our friends. Customer service is unmatched.

Seemed like a cool shop but I wish I had consulted the internet before trusting there pitch. Bought some goggles 50% off, for some reason I trusted the cool young snowboarder dude who made the goggles sound like they were top of the line. He said he had friends that wouldnt use anything else and that they had been a trusted brand for years, and the only reason they didnt have them stocked this year was because covid..... In other words, he fully pitched me some serious bs like a cheap used car salesman and I bought it. Turns out the brand just started making goggles last year and the only reviews I could find were not good, but I would say they were accurate. The one day Ive been able to use them they fogged up almost immediately, they were really hot! Otherwise the spare lens which was half the reason I bought them was scratched which didnt come up until half way through the sale and lastly, I found the same pair online for even cheaper, no scratches. Ive been in this shop before and another salesman was pushing boots the same way, didnt have any time to listen to me explain what I wanted just kept bringing me boots and saying how cool they were. They have a lot of stuff here but it seems to me that management is pressuring salesman to say what ever they have to, either that or they work for commission. I was honestly shocked that I was misled like that by what appears to be a friendly local shop. Check there gear but do your own research!!

Great boot fitting. However, DO NOT get bindings mounted here - they drilled so many holes in my husbands skis (in error) and as a result were unable to mount the bindings in the correct place (because they had drilled too many holes in wrong places). The skis look like swiss cheese and are now trashed.

Very big selection, average price (same exact price as REI even if they claim that their prices are below market price), the real problem is the staff. I was waiting for an employee to finish serving a client, he did and he approached me, I couldnt even start asking regarding a new pair of ski boot that a friend of this person arrived, he told me let me help Mary very quick and then left me alone for half an hour, ALONE FOR HALF AN HOUR TO HELP ONE OF YOUR FRIEND IS NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ANY LEVEL. I left after 30mins waiting. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Henry went above and beyond to help. Seriously hooked me up. The place has everything including a service shop for all your dull edges and base dings. Great sales on equipment from boots, bindings, bibs, goggles, to poles and skis. Check this place out, you wont regret it.

Very Impressed with their customer service. I met with Steve, Paul, and Harry all very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They went out of there way to make sure that I was happy with my recent purchase. I’ll drive up from South Lake Tahoe any day for this level of positive service and attention that they provide. I like how relaxed and not burned out the atmosphere is here. I recommend getting gear here throughout the year and especially during the Labor Day sale.

This has been my favorite ski/snowboard store since the early 2000s (they have probably been there longer, I just didnt find them until i started my snow adventures). The staff has always been helpful and are knowledgeable in the products they carry. It gets busy in the early winter months with people getting geared up for ski season, but its worth the wait for the experience if you need it. They offer rentals, tune-ups, and retail for all things ski/snowboard (prices are standard retail it seems - no amazing deals - you pay for the expertise). So far, I have visited at least 3 times this ski season for a variety of items including goggles, helmets, and boots. If you ski/board, go check it out!

My son wants to start snowboarding. We dont know anything about snowboarding and have never been the kind of winter sports type so we didnt know what to look for. We were greeted by Tasha who immediately helped us get oriented and then explained snowboard rentals. We decided to rent so she took us over to Scott and Zach who helped my son get fitted for binding and boots. They all were informative and never made us feel uncomfortable for being our first time. We actually enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely be back!

Good boot fitting, nice price and selection for skiing

The staff of Bobos continues to excel in customer service, helping everyone as much as possible with every question, going as far as to pull different skis from their stock to show the differences in skis to costumers. They often take 20 minutes time to find just the right boot, and arent satisfied until the customer is completely satisfied. They make sure youre happy along the whole way, and even if you stop one of them walking around the store, they will take out time to explain the answer to your question.

Phenomenal people. It was recommended to me by my friends, so now its my turn to recommend it to everyone else. Staff was wonderful, they all seemed to enjoy what they do and were eager to help.

Excellent selection and amazing customer service and knowledge. Prices are dramatically better than REI or anywhere brick and mortar from what I can tell. Jackson custom fitted my ski boots. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable seeing as he has skied professionally for many years. He really took his time and guaranteed I’d love the fit or he’d fix them personally. I truly appreciate his service and expertise.

We were in Reno for a sportsmans show and headed over to Northstar to ski a couple of days. We needed rentals.The owner Steve set us up with reasonably priced high quality gear and gave us pointers on how to beat the traffic to mountain (it worked!).

Excellent service and ski/snowboard rental equipment. We bought a stomp pad for my girlfriends snowboard but it fell off before we got on any lifts. We told them our issue and Tosh quickly gave us a replacement at no charge! We will definitely shop/rent here again.

Brought in Solomon snowboard boots here two weeks ago to simply order and replace my laces. After two weeks I just came in to check in on then and they have not ordered the new laces. I have been renting boots for a week at my expense, just so Bobos can do literally nothing. The didnt even order the parts! Complete waste of my time. If you need to repair anything involving boots, skis, snowboards or anything like that... Dont go to bobos.

My friends and I went to Bobos for guidance to proper ski equipment and that is what we got. Excellent customer service was definitely given to us also. We all ended up buying new boots that fit us properly so we could ride comfortably and under control.Walter fitted me for boots and gave me a killer boot that fits me right and I feel so much better on the mountain.The fitting process for boots here is great. They will spend as much time needed to get you into the right boot and mold them to your foot so you and the boot are one with each other.Great selection of alpine skis.Great people that work here.

High end store for furniture that should last a lifetime.

Great apparel selection and staff was helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend that they move their goggle selections to a different location in the store. Goggles were placed behind a glass casing where the cashier is, making it difficult for potential buyers to view the selection especially when a line of people is being formed in front of the display.

Didnt have the boots i was looking for in my size

These guys really take care of their customers. I bought new ski boots, but they didnt fit as well as I would have liked after a few uses. I took them back for a refit, but Jackson went above and beyond to get me in a different boot altogether at no additional charge. Needless to say, when I was ready to purchase new skis this week, I bought them from Bobos! It was easy to pick the right ones thanks to Demo Day and the price was right, too.

Just spent the best 90 minutes in my feet’s life. Pat took time and was extremely knowledgeable about how to fit ski boots. I’ve owned my own equipment for over 30 years and I have never had a pair of ski boots feel so comfortable! Thank you Pat!!! You will not find that kind of knowledge or personal attention in a box store. And their prices were right on par with those on the internet. If you are in the market for ski boots, go see Pat at Bobo’s!!!

We dont live in the area but we made a stop just for the labor day sales! Its a great time to get outfitted for the season without breaking the bank.

The staff made it easy to rent a set of snowshoes. This was our first experience and it was simple. We will certainly go back again before we go on our next adventure.

The ladies I chatted with were super knowledgeable and very nice. I had a great experience. I think helmets should be cheaper to rent. When its safety equipment that protects your cranium it should be promoted by making it part of the package rental.

Bought ski boots. Service was excellent, the gentleman who helped me was super knowable. Ive skied 100k vertical in them since and am in love with the boots. While I would never buy ski boots online, the price matched online prices.

Second time buying skis here. The first guy was really helpful and nice we worked a deal on a ski and binding package for 40 dollars off the posted price, when I brought my boots in to pay and mount them, it was kinda a pain to get the same deal from a different salesman, kinda embarrassing trying to get a few bucks off but I stood firm to my original deal, he eventually gave it to me after I was basically on my way out the door. Kind of a weird experience... they mounted them up in like 30 min or less, awsome, everyone else was really nice and prices seemed good Ive always loved bobos thats y I go back but next time I might try Tahoe Daves probably get the k2 marksmen for my powder skis. Probably shop around more next time.

Among the best in-store retail customer service Ive ever experienced. We came in for a fitting and were very delighted to be working with Pat. The knowledge he shared about how a ski-boot should fit for various skill levels was really valuable! My fiancee ended up making a purchase that day (he got the Salomon Mens QST Pro 120 Ski Boots) and I ended up renting a pair to try out. Both of us had one of the best ski days ever, so that probably speaks volumes to our gear. The staff was so friendly, the prices were great, and it felt like a true community in there - where they just wanted to make sure you were happy!

Way over priced.. (Why only 4 stars) What makes them worth it, is their deep, up to date knowledge, and undivided attention, and helpfulness.. Great crew!

They have quite the selection and a friendly staff to help assist you. My feet are a little bit awkward so I had to go through about eight pairs of boots, but we were able to find one that fit perfect. They also offer last years model available for a discounted price on boots bindings and Boards. Keep an eye out for the deals!

So I have been coming to BoBos for at least 20 years now. Staff has always been a bit stand-offish but it has become so much worse lately. I showed up to ask some questions about Head boots and actually stood around for close to 20 minutes with no one helping me. When someone finally did, it was Pat, the manager. Pat was very smarmy and seemed very put off having to help me. Even though I was getting my boots from my rep, I was planning on having them fitted there, I was also planning on buying skis and bindings from them. When I told Pat I was thinking of buying some Moment skis and had some questions his response was yea...Im not a Moment guy and walked away. It is a shame because the owners are really nice people but Pats toxic attitude ruins the place. The guys job is literally to sell skis and he couldnt be bothered. After 20 years, I have decided to take my business to Truckee. Not as convenient but better service.

I came for boot fitting and the fitters were great. I got the right pair of boots and took them out to ski. I came back to get the shell heat molded and they took great care of me, really making sure to listen to my feedback after skiing and proceeded to pad my feet in a few areas and then completed the molding. The boots are kicking ass for me now! thanks Bobos!
