Nail place called Top Coat Nail Bar in RenoThe owner pretends to not speak English and all of a sudden his English is plain as day. I requested a full set, the girl said she didnt want to take them all off, she said she would paint white over my neon orange nails. Well the design I chose was yellow with one clear nail on each hand covered in daisys. She reluctantly removed 2 nails and replaced them with 2 very short clear nails with 2 daisys on each, they werent even and much shorter than my others which now had yellow painted on top of the neon orange and the orange is visible. She did paint white over the orange first but it still shows. One hand got a top coat and the other did not. When I said something, I was told that only his wife could do it and she was not there and she books up very quickly They should have told me that when I showed them and asked if they could do the design I wanted. As I finished, I was asked if everything was okay and I pointed out the inconsistencies and poor quality of my nails he said again, only his wife can fix it, but said he would make the others shorter to match the very short one. I asked if I could come back another day to have it fixed but he said no to just ask for his wife next time. As my nails dried it was more apparent that my nails looked horrible and only one hand had a top coat on. We called to speak to the owner, he was quite rude. Again pretending he did not speak English but then all of a sudden he had no accent. When he asked what I wanted, I said I wanted him to fix my nails and I wanted the nails I paid for. He argued and said he would only fix one nail and he didnt care how they looked, how uneven they were or whether we gave them a poor review. That night the thick polish started peeling off and 2 days later,, the polish is almost off. The last picture is what I asked them to do.

I saw the reviews for this place and was really excited to get my nails done. i called before and asked about how much a full set would be. i was told $45 is the price. i payed for my sister and i to get full set of acrylics. my sister wanted slightly long nails with a basic pink glitter coat. my sister was not informed about the price of her nails until the coat was being put on. my nails ended up being $50,which was fine, and my sisters being $55. after leaving the store my sister shows me her nails. her fingers were dry and cracked. nails were orange instead of pink. i insisted she goes back in and gets them fixed. when she confronts the person at the counter, a lady doing nails starts getting upset. she says no refunds are allowed many times over and over. my sister explain she only wanted her nails fixed. the nail lady then begins to yell across the nail saloon in a foreign language to the other nail techs. eventual a worker tells my sister he would fix her nails. my nails turned out fine but after a week of having them i bumped my pinkie finger on the door knob and the acrylic ripped off my real nail. the next week at work i hit my hand on a shelf and my other pink nail was ripped off yet again. the nail application was very poor and damaged my real nails terribly bad.

I went in for the first time today after looking at their reviews and I normally never leave reviews at nail salons, but this place was by FAR the best nail salon Ive been to in SOOO long. Highly recommend. great at shaping and compared to other places their full set price has the gel polish included in it!!

Treatment: pedicureOnly issue: cost to value ratioIt’s really clean and nice inside, and the nail tech was gentle (as in I didn’t wince during my pedicure while she was scraping/cleaning/shaping my toenails) my only qualm is this salon doesn’t offer the standard “package” pricing of pedicures (read: tiers).The base is $36 and then everything else is an add on from there (hot stones, polish choice, massage, callus treatment, etc). The menu is confusing and my friend there was barely able to communicate what she wanted.I opted for the $15 gel polish and $12 paraffin wax.The total ended up being $73 for what felt like a pretty basic pedicure.Personally I didn’t feel it was worth the cost, but if you are sensitive to aggressive nail trimming then this is a good place.

My daughter wanted her nails polished, sent her here because I was at Sports Clips. She was charged 36.00 for simple blue polish. No design no nothing. Plain blue polish. Rip off!!!

I have very high expectations when it comes to my nails. I found Top Coat online and was impressed with their gallery, the reviews where also quite positive. I was not disappointed! It’s been a long time since I have been this pleased. Already booked my next appointment.

I really wanted to like this place. I saw all the reviews and thought this would be the place for me. But the application of the acrylic was uneven to my liking. Long story short my mom and i went there to get fills and color change and we both feel that the fills were not full coverage. And to top it off they were very expensive for a fill and color change. Ill admit its been years since i got nails done so maybe the prices got ridiculous. Love the color tho.

Traveling in Reno for work. I happened to find this shop and read good reviews and they were all correct. They are clean, friendly and both times Ive been quality of work is damn near perfect. As long as Im here, this will be the only nail salon I go to.

They were short staffed so the wait was a bit long although I had an appointment. Once serviced though it was definitely well worth it.

Best service ever!! They work really hard to get you what you want. You can show them a pinterest nail photo of a design you want and they match it. Never been disappointed or had ANY issues. Their salon is really clean and they talk to you in English and tell you what theyre saying in their language which is always funny.😃😃😃

I really love the new nail salon, Top Coat nail bar. The staff is so nice and professional. Very thorough pedicure and they do not rush through it. You pick a scent for your water, scrub and massage lotion. They have this Foot thing that flips up to rest your legs on instead of holding them up yourself. They have Nail color swatches instead of picking a bottle off of the wall. Best massage chairs ever. All tools are opened in front of you and used only on you. They have the plastic liner in the foot tub so you know its sanitary. They disinfect the entire chair after use. And, they have mimosas!UPDATEsince Covid a lot has changed including pricing. Its not the experience above anymore. In fact most people I know feel rushed here. As if they are going so fast with the service so they can get you out and another person $$ in! Disappointed.

Been going to another place for years and having issues with thick and lifting nails decided to try another place and I will say hands down this place is super clean, very nice people and my nails have never looked better! The first time I came to top coat, the service was great, my sister and i came for a pedicure (acrylic on big toes + French tip) and it was done very well, the other set was black with gunmetal gel and both sets were done beautifully. Both of the owners were very sweet and the shop was charismatic and incredibly nice. Since then Ive gotten my nails done and my toes again and have not been disappointed I will continue to come here, highly recommend. Its been a long time since Ive found a good nail spot in Reno!

I love this place from the beautiful facility and amazing aesthetic to the nail bar. I loved sitting on the bar stools and having a mimosa was a plus. The owners of the salon are friendly and obviously she really enjoys her work, she helped me pick out some extras and encouraged me to step out of my simple box by showing me a new shape and style. The ONLY place in Reno and Sparks to get your nails done 💅 honestly I have ALWAYS been really overly picky about my nails!! When my nail lady sold her salon and moved away I didn’t get my nails done regularly for a few years. There was just no one here that could do nails as she did. This past yes we going Top Coat Nail Bar and they are as picky about who they hire as I am my nails! They wanted a truly high class salon and they really successfully raised the bar as far as our area!! They are like the really high end salons you would find in the bigger cities but with great prices they absolutely are below cost of the value of their work! They do all the NEW fads if you show them a photo they can create it! If you describe something they patient listen and are so good that it’s like they can read your mind!! Each one of them have ALWAYS exceeded my expectations!! They treat you like family and remember your name! Staff was super friendly. Called on a Thursday for my wife and I to get a mani pedi for Saturday and we’re able to accommodate us. Staff was helpful and fun to talk with. Prices were good and even got mimosas!
