I sent my 6 year old and 9 year old to 6 weeks of this camp. I can’t believe I can honestly say this but, they came home excited about going. the next day. Neither had ever been to a camp before. Five other kids in our neighborhood ranging in ages from. 8-12 also attended and LOVED IT! I would highly recommend it. Their two weeks notice cancellation policy was also very helpful because we enrolled in March and the camp didn’t start until late June. Great value for the cost.

Alessandro and his coaches have been great. Our daughter joined the team late in the season so we have found that the coaches and swimmers have been both welcoming and dedicated to swimming.

Great teachers, classroom and gym environment. My child learned social skills, gets adequate physical activity and rest and is learning to do tasks more independently. Im very happy with the Y program.

The staff at the YMCA are the type of people the world needs more of. Both my children attend their programs and love it.I’m so happy that we discovered the Y after moving her this summer.

This Y is in a great location with great facilities. That being said, its onerous safety measures in place due to Covid-19 have made the ability to use the place next to impossible. Where other Y facilities have adapted appropriately and safely, without sacrificing accessibility, Burbank Y opens and closes at ridiculous hours, opening too late for many morning athletes, and way too early for anyone getting off of work in the evening. Then the facility unexplainably closes down in the middle of the day, preventing anyone on lunch break or with mid-day availability from using the place. Then the cherry on top is the requirement to schedule your workouts in advance, which oftentimes require making reservations online days in beforehand....... really silly system that prevents use of the facility by its members who pay monthly to use it. Go elsewhere for your workouts.

A great gym. My wife and I go there frequently throughout the week and weekends. They have a great set up to protect against the spread of Covid. Please take a walk through (mask on) and check it out.

Safety is their top priority now, with strict COVID-19 restrictions in place (temp checks at the door, distancing while exercising, lots of outdoor classes). Theyre doing everything right. I feel comfortable bringing my family here for classes and am thankful we have this valuable resource to connect our community. The gals in Child Watch know my family and continued to ask about my boys during our long hiatus from the Y, and they truly care about this community.

I am a retired Dentist and became a Certified Personal Trainer almost 5 years ago . I am a Senior Citizen but I have lost 15 pounds and do not even take a single medication and I feel working out constantly at the y has helped me to achieve this!

We have had a family membership at the Y for over 20 years and I would highly recommend it Burbank YMCA. My children started swim lessons at two years old and continued with swim, sports, after school program. Great adult exercise classes while the kids are at childcare. Friendly staff, great instructors and very clean. Great place for everyone!!

Ive really enjoyed the group exercise classes, especially rowing and spin. The Y had everything a family needs: fitness center, babysitting, parents night out, preschool class, and so much more. Love our Y!

This is a great facility its laid out just right the variety of equipment in the cardio room weight room machines are all in excellent condition and close to top of the line. You will not be disappointed with the fitness center here. Pool is fantastic! the gym is very well laid out I think the only thing I would probably upgrade is the locker rooms those were a bit dated and other than that family fun and even single people can mingle enjoy this place thank you for the Guest Pass management. I noticed they also had child care. The facility is a little hard to find ....off the beaten path... it is located across from a flex field baseball soccer plenty of parking.

This is a beautiful and clean facility, the but parking situation is extremely difficult. Because of the pool, and because of the nearby athletic fields, there is often no parking. It can be very frustrating.

If you want to bring kids to practice swim there, this is not the place for it. They forces you to wear life jacket regardless if you know how to swim, such a joking facility and bunch of lifeguards that don’t want to do any work other than enforcing unreasonable rules.

Pro - Nice balance. Nice equipment. Fairly good staff. There are a few qualified good instructors that have good experience.Cons - The Reading Burbank YMCA is too small. Needs to move. It is going to happen sooner or later. Why wait to later? The gym is small. However, can do a good workout.Staff - some have been there too long. They have their friends and it shows. I do not know them and so I am not one of them. However, there are many new ones. They have past the test and they got the job as opposed to people with much more experience. (As mentioned above, there are some good one with many years of experience and managed to past the test)Classes for yoga and other classes is good but again space is too small.Parking - not enough. Especially during peak hours.Swimming pool. - It is clean. I hope. The boys (and some men) pee in the water. Also, these same people do not take a shower before going into the pool. Other places, taking a shower would be a requirement.Too many of the swimming teachers/instructors are rude. It seems that if they lecture someone about the rules they get points. For example: Setting on the side of the pool and pushing off to get into the water is technically the same as diving. Which is a no no. We have to get on our hands and knees and back into the water. Hmm...Day care. It is just that. There is no school. There is no structured learning classes except to learn to cut and glue paper. If you want a school for academic, then this is not the place. However, some of the teachers do try to teach a little. The kids (college kids) and adults are just there to baby sit. If your child did anything wrong then they will make a note and have the parent sign the paper. This will be used against you in the future. :) Not all but some (especially the college students that are there short term) just hang out, text messages, etc. Just there to put there time in to get credit for school and resume.I had 2 children there. They learn to socialize. That is good. However, nothing else.Had 2 different teachers. One was fairly new and did pretty good. Made an effort to teach something as opposed to just cutting, drawing or gluing. The other teacher, who is suppose to be very good, is just going through the motions and during paperwork everyday. She fills out one form; Makes copies; then put a name on each one.She makes sure that she says the correct politics and had the right friends and / or connections. For example: Graduations: The newer teacher had the children come up; stop; look at parents; give the diploma; wave; etc. Results: Happy ParentsIn Denises class, well, it was obvious she had her favorites. One student; gave the diploma, nothing; up and gone!Next student: Said their name, greeted, gave diploma, a hug, etc. (this one good - result - parents happy)Next one: Parents not happy.Next one: HappyNext one: Not happy.Parents were both clearly very happy or clearly unhappy. She made a commit about how to learn. The mother responded. Denise made her response. As she walked away... we realized that she had no idea about our child capabilities. It was just her standard response or commit to a/the parents. After one whole year... we were shocked.(Yes, this is only Day Care - but are pretending to be more)New director. It is her first year. Let see what happens next year. Let give her some support and a chance. We all know the first year can be difficult. I think she will do better next year now that she has the first year behind her. Good luck. For the money that parents spend. It should much better. Our score for the Burbank YMCA in Reading would be only average. It could easily be better. The YMCA needs to and can do better. Let us hope that they do. Hope this helps. Again, good luck. :)
