Its nice to walk in a place and see employees that have a smile on their faces and actually enjoy helping you. The owner and his staff are very knowledgeable and offer great customer service. And if by some crazy long shot the team working doesnt make you happy the prices will. I recommend this place all the time.
Great people , lots of attention to detail, highly recommended... not someone that will overcharge you ..I will be taking my other vintage items for repairThank you volumeRobert Lacy.
They did a great and fast repair on my JBL speaker. Mike is a very friendly owner. I definitely recommend Volume..
Fixed my fender amp in less than 1 week for less than i expected to pay. Great service, friendly experience.
I really wanted to give a great review since not many shops like this are around anymore but I had a pretty rough experience. Brought my amp into the shop at the beginning of September to get it repaired, I told the techs burnt tubes werent the issue (I replaced every tube in the amp myself). When I picked up the amp after the 1st time, I saw the charged me for a new power tube completely disregarding what I had said. Either way, if the amp worked Id be happy and move on.After 30 minutes of use, the amp starts having the same issue I brought it into the shop for. So I bring it back again hoping to mitigate the issue, the amp then sat in their shop for about 4 months in total. When I picked up the amp after it was fixed last week the problem happened AGAIN. So as of now, the amp is still broken after about 5 months in their shop. The only plus I can really give here is the women working there and the owner were generally nice, however Im about $250 deep in this place for an amp that is still non-functional after roughly being in their shop for 4-5 months. Just completely unacceptable, Ill have to bring it to another shop who can hopefully fix the issue digging an even deeper hole in my wallet. I really just want a refund since the amp was never repaired but it seems like thats a trend of this shop, or at least with amps.Be weary of this place for valve amp repairs.Update: I brought the said amp above to a friend who builds amps and he was shocked when he opened the amp for repair. He suggested I sell the amp because of the mess they made inside the board trying to fix the problem. He however, fixed the amp in a week (for half the price of this store) and it’s been working for 2 months straight no issues. DO NOT BRING YOUR TUBE AMP HERE.
Charged me $200 to fix my amp - when I got it back it was worse than when I brought it in - they were very vague when I asked them what was wrong with the amp and what they did to fix it - I took it back - they fixed it - 2 weeks and 2 hundred dollars later - bad jack in the back - why didnt they catch that before they sent it out the door and charged me $200? What did they fix? They said they tested it but I took it home and plugged it in and in 30 seconds I could tell it wasnt working right - I have a friend who has taken several amps there - he says they always charge him $300 (which they tried to charge me at first) then they are always vague about what they did to repair it - almost like they have a set price to repair an amp no matter what they do to it - it was like pulling teeth to get any information out of them - like taking your car to a garage to have it fixed and they charge you an outrageous amount to fix it and then cant tell you what was wrong with it or what they did to fix it - and now it doesnt sound as good as it did before - after I specifically and repeatedly told them that I liked the character of this vintage amp and if anything youre going to do is going to change the sound, dont do it ( and they were snotty acting) - Ill never go there again
Great informative guy
Great workmanship and fair priced.
Our 61 HDTV stopped working and there are NO Sony repair centers anywhere near Cincinnati. I was hesitant about trying to get it repaired (advice from others) but thought wed give it a try. Im so glad we did! Volume called with an estimate and the work was done quickly. The cost was a lot less than having to replace the set! I recommend their work.
Wanted to buy an item. But the wouldnt sell me one. My request was to purchase a guitar amp tube. Didnt want to deal with a big box store...Support local business. Thats all...No worries...Ill be back.
Done business before on my guitars (4). Reasonable tine and rates rates. Quality work. Friendly. This time an old favorite amp. Could buy but love the specific sound. Will follow up after receipt.
Great services! Fast diagnostics, fast repair, and at a reasonable price! Took a Marshall amp in and got it back 3 days later. It was cutting out, and now it sounds brand new. I would definitely use them again.
Fast service, reliable and decent pricing
The crew here was very cognizant of timing and we’re attentive to my needs.Got my Fender Blues Jr. amp fixed in a few days.Amp works great now.Was recommended to go here and will be bringing any other electronics I need fixed here.
I’ll sum up the review before I tell the details: If you want your musical gear repaired, they will repair it well at a reasonable enough price. If you need your musical gear to be repaired within any sort of time frame, you may want to explore your options.I’m going to be as fair and honest as I can be here. I have a Sunn 1200s bass head (the rack-mounted 1990s hybrid model, not the all-tube 1960s guitar amp of the same name) which I have loved for around 20 years. It blew up in late August 2019 and I brought it in on September 4 and paid for the expedited service. I got my estimate September 13, found the price and the repair time acceptable and approved the repairs. The repair time was stretched out for weeks, typically blaming the wait on parts delivery. On October 30, after having the amp for well beyond the quoted repair time, they called to amend the estimate, increasing it by $130. I honestly felt I was being scammed. I went to the store and talked to the tech directly, not being shy about my suspicions. He was completely cool and assured me that it was not the case and explained exactly the cause for the change (apparently it was incompletely troubleshot the first time around… understandable, they’re only human). I believed him (and still do). I weighed my options for a week, then approved the repairs.I finally got the call that my amp was repaired on December 9. I have zero complaints about the quality of the repair or the professionalism of the staff. I did have to suffer through playing a live-broadcast internet show using an inferior substitute amp… embarrassing to me, but who else would notice?I will use them again on things for which I have a backup or are not immediately needed.
Good group of people that are fair and good at what they do. I had a problem that they were able to fix for me a lot cheaper than it would have been to replace the unit. Overall Im very satisfied.
I work full time as a photographer and dropped a camera flash. Andrew was able to take a look at the innards, and got it back working same day. saved me from having to buy another $400 piece of equipment. Thanks Andrew!
Quaint like dinner. History in reading. Good food. Frequently there.
Excellent service. I had two items repaired and received calls with quotes exactly when they said I would. Repair work was completed quickly and is top-notch. Im glad to be enjoying my hi-fi speakers and vintage boom box again after many years of not being able to. Thanks!
Mike gave me above and beyond service. First the repair only took one day which was AMAZING!! Other guys Ive had wait weeks to even look at it. Second I needed it shipped out to a musician in another state super fast and Mike had it boxed up and shipped out the next day. Such good service in taking care of us and crazy fast turn around with great cost. No one else could have done it as good.
Ive been here multiple times to have different equipment fixed. Its always been in a timely manor and typically less expensive than I expected. I used to buy new stuff when it broke because I didnt know where to go or expected the cost to not be worth it. Not anymore!! Highly recommend!
I have had 2 different Mackie loudspeakers repaired as well as a Samsung tv. All with quick turnaround and fair prices.
This is a charming and trustworthy old school electronics repair shop. Had them work on a guitar amp. Did a good job, quick, great communication, honest, reasonable prices. Had a hiccup on the part they replaced so I had to take it twice but they handled the issue with professionalism and class. They let you know your item status through text message which is a little odd but gets the job done. I wouldnt hesitate to take another electronic part to them for repair.
Great staff, good prices for repairs.
Great place! Fixed my Technics Turntable and now works like new! Great place and highly recommended. Don’t listen to the other reviews. These guys are experts and know what they are doing!
Ability to work on old tube amps is a plus.
Best folks around, take all my equipment there. Won’t take my Marshall’s anywhere else
EDIT - the only way Id ever consider wasting time coming there would be for a full refund... even that may not be worth it.I had pretty much the same experience as the gentleman below. I took my amp in just for an intermittent input jack, you could hold it to the side and it would work fine so yeah, it needed an input jack no big deal.3 weeks go by, no call and I need the amp for a gig so I call them several times before Im told its going to cost $125 on top of the $45 I already paid?!?I could buy the tools, take time off work, learn how to do it, and buy lunch for that price.I said no, got there the next day to pick it up and they said they got it mixed up with another repair and I could pay $20 for parts and take it....The best part, it still didnt work when I got to my gig. I was going to borrow one but one of the members in another band knew a guy who fixes amps and he happened to be free, came to the venue and had it fixed before the opening band was done. Only charged $20 and a couple beers, no problems since.
Not customer, along for the ride. Too early to tell, but I have a good feeling about this place.
Had my radio for a month. Initially just to replace power cord. Still did not work so they said they would check it out further. Week went by and never heard so i called them. Said repair guy was out and he would be back by next Wednesday. I stopped in store a week later and owner said come back next week (what the heck?) They called me the next week to say it would take $110-$140 to fix so i said i would come and get it. Then he said let us check it out further and call you back. I called back 5 minutes later and just said i will come get it tomorrow. I called the next day to tell them i would pick it up later and he said due to mix up the repair guy fixed it accidentally and they would only charge me $28.50 for parts plus the $25 i paid originally for new power cord. Picked it up the next day, paid total of $58.60 and radio is useless. Volume has to be turned all the way up to hear at all and speaker sounds scratchy. All around bad experience that convinces me never to go back to Volume Electronics. They should have been honest from the start and told me it was not worth repairing.
I had an issue where Nikon would no longer repair my old flashes since they no longer make the parts. Since I had been here before to have personal stuff fixed I thought Id bring them by and see if they could use the parts from some to fix others. To my surprise, yes they could! I made it clear I didnt care if anything got broken since they were already broken and to just do what they could. So glad I thought to come by!
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! ! ! ELECTRONIC GRAVEYARD: The worst in service, product, and time Ive ever encountered. They never return your call when they promise they will, and rush you off the phone when you check in. I called 4 times over 6 months to inquire about my guitar amp. After $250 and 6 months wait, parts were missing, the amp buzzed, and was in worse shape then when I left it. The input jack was falling out of the socket and a button cover was missing, and the amp buzzed even when nothing was plugged into it. No notes were made on the schematics as to what they did either, which is standard in the electronics industry. I should have had them turn it on before I paid and left, but I foolishly assumed they wouldnt screw me over. Theyre so bad in fact, this is the first public review Ive ever made.. I had to. Id sue them if a lawsuit didnt cost so much, and I bet they counted on that.Edit to your response: The Traynor YCV-40.. Ring a bell? It sat on your workbench for 6 months, surely you can remember that. To lie and call me an X- employee is insulting. I tour the Cincinatti live music scene and know a lot of musicians in this area. Ill go out of my way now to steer business away from you. No need for further comment.
Thank you for taking my old Toshiba plasma TV. I hope you can fix it and sell it. I feel better about you having it than just giving it to Rumpke!
They got my Marshall done in 3 days just in time for my gig. Worked flawless.
Very personable and friendly staff. Mike was very knowledgeable and got the work done in a very timely manner.
I would really like to say I had a positive experience because the land of electronics repair is rapidly diminishing. Unfortunately, I cannot. Brought my amp into the store for a intermittent channel issue. I was told I was told I would receive a call as soon as they know something. 2 full weeks go by and I had not heard anything back from them. When I called the store I was told I had two other Amps in front of me but he would put a rush on mine. Another week and a half goes by and still no call even to say we are backed up/ sorry for the long wait/ we appreciate u being patient or anything like that. I called back again to check on the status to be told you where on my list to call today. The service guy explained he had to completely rebuild a channel and that it would be 200-300 dollars. I then then asked about the retention of sound quality. He then told me it was going to be even more expensive and take even longer I wanted factory parts (if they could even get them) and proceeded to try to fast talk me off the phone telling me that he would call me when it was done. Something didnt feel right- I called back. Got the same guy and asked a few more questions. One of them was what was wrong with the amp to which I got there some stuff in there that needs to be replaced like caps, ect... I then said that is fine what I would like to do is collect my amp and a parts list of what all needs to be replaced so that I possibly bring it back at a less busy time. The fast talking man explained that he couldnt give me a list of parts that needed replacement because he didnt know exactly what it needed...ok ?? Stange, I thought to myself, being in the automotive field yeah, there are some unforeseeable expenses but they should be able give a ballpark. Accepting I wasnt going to get an estimate on what parts would need to be replaced I told to guy I was going pick up the amplifier. He responded with it would have to be in a few hours as he needed to put it back together. After retrieving the amp I decided to take a look for myself and see what exactly components had popped or perhaps see where the smoke had let out. Much to my shock I discovered about 9 years of perfectly undisturbed dust all over the internals. The only dust that was disturbed was where MY fingertips brushed it off when I lifted the lid off. Pretty unusual to say the least for an amp that had been inspected and put back together... All in all this company may do good work. Ill never know. Hopefully my experience was an isolated case of the ball being dropped several times and they attempted to cover their butts. Or they simply couldnt repeat my problem on the bench. (I performed a function test and it seems to be working just how it should just with less load). Just buyer beware, especially if u need to get something repaired in a timely matter.
Brought in an old turntable that my parents owned a long time ago.. had it looked over and repaired. It became their wedding anniversary gift!
They have had my sons amp since June..it worked a week and quit again .. he already paid for repairs and took it back.. it is August. And . They keep giving me the run around.!My son is out of state.. trying g to get fir him it belonged to my brother whom passed away .. very sad disheartened about thier lack of compassion ! As I did explain it was my brothers and was very special to the family ! Very disappointed!
A decent small business that works well with the customers.
So they pretty much just take your $40 diagnositc payment and then never call you. You call them after months and they say theyll call you back. Then they dont call you. Few more months go by and then you call again and they say they cant find the part. Then youre out $40 and whatever broken electronics you gave them just sits in their junky store forever. They tried to fix it so you cant get your $40 back. Do not waste your money!
First time there. Owner was very polite and seemed very competant.
I bought a TV here and brought my 35 year old Sansui Stereo here to be fixed. Im still having issues with it but Im sure it will get fixed.
Thanks for the fast turnaround on my amp!
Nice people. Good job
You can sell broken TVs to them
Repairs almost all audio products, old and newer.
Its good
Horrible service!!!
