I just completed my first 6 week challenge and am already signing up for another! Love this place! A very friendly environment with great instructors! They are very knowledgeable and do a great job of motivating us to challenge ourselves while encouraging us along the way. They do a great job of keeping the classes interesting and fresh and I have learned so much. I have tried out many places over the years and this is by far my favorite! I feel great and am very happy with the results I am seeing! And I love the amazing group of ladies I have gotten to know over these last several weeks!

I recommend calling before driving out there because I got all the way there during what was supposed to be open hours and the door was locked and no one answered the phone. Kinda a waste of gas and time. They were friendly on the phone though.

Dont waste your time! They just want your money and have no care for students attending the program. And if you are stationed out at Joint Base Lewis Mcchord then Especially stay away from this place. They have a great time ripping off and taking advantage of us Veterans and military personnel. Warned my entire platoon to keep away from these jokers.Take your money somewhere else folks.PLEASE take my advice, dont be a sucker and get scammed.

I LOVE this place! If youre looking to lose some weight and get in shape their 6 week get fit challenge is where its at! Im on my 4th challenge and I have lost a ton of weight and inches. The trainers, Amber and Christie, are AMAZING and are willing to help you anyway they can. You can tell they genuinely care about your success. The workouts are challenging but fun and in the 21 weeks Ive been attending I think I can safely say weve not done the same workout twice which I love because it keeps things fresh. The comradery is great too, everyone is so encouraging. So if youre willing to put in the work definetly give this place a try!

Ive been coming here consistently for quite some time training in their Krav Maga program and just signed up for another year. 2nd to no one - this is absolutely the place where a person can come to learn and train street fighting and real life self defense scenarios. This is the real deal with no fluff and no frills. Big thumbs up and 5 stars all the way.

This place is a joke. My husband and I went for about 3 months, and if you arent a student there attending MAJORITY of the classes offered or some buff military guy, John the owner could care less about you as a student. I ended up have to move out of the country for work and they didnt put our account on hold as promised and now we owe $1800 for classes we didnt even attend, even though Johns daughter Amber told us when we signed up, that if we did not attend we would be refunded for the months we didnt. The classes are WAY too full for the space they provide. Whatever you do, dont do a yearly account with these people. They have ignored us, dodged and weaved us in trying to settle this. The kids classes are incredibly rushed, this entire place is unorganized and all they care about is your money, not you as a student.

We signed up for the Krav Maga program and were told that we could suspend the account for a few months if we were unable to attend classes and that we would not be charged for the classes we didnt attend - lo and behold we were sent to collections over the unused months and after trying to cancel our program. Over a year later after stopping these classes, we are still trying to settle this account and the staff continue to dodge our calls or tell us to come by when no one is at the center. What a crock! Do not waste your money here!!!!!

This place is phenomenal, my family and I have been students at this facility for over two years. I found there classes for adults and children to be fun and rewarding. The kids classes instile values that are life skills i.e. Self control, discipline, communication, listening, and using self defense only as a last resort. I have watched my daughters find a mentors in instructor Amber and John and have watched time and again a teacher student bond that only comes from geniuine caring from John and Amber for students to learn and grow. The adult classes are taught by skill and rightfully so, however even at the entry level day one you will learn something that could save your life. John has an incredable extensive multi disciplined martial arts background, combine that with allot of fun and learning defense skills it makes for a rewarding experience. I truly appreciate this training center and the culture of family they exhibite. The pricing is very fair and my experience in terms of payment versus service was very transparent (From reading other reviews). I have recommended this center to everybody I know, and will continue to do so. Thanks John for all you do and keep up the good work.

My daughter has been studying Karate here for almost 2 years now. She loves it. Her self confidence is very high. In school she has become a leader and positive influence on other students. She has grown from a shy 7 year old with a fear of new things into an confident adventurer. Some of this may be normal growth but much of it is related to her training at Elite with a great instructor. Martial Arts is a lifetime commitment and the instructors at Elite understand this. They teach the individual student, helping them move forward and feel the progression themselves so they stay interested and motivated. They teach standard stances, distancing, kicking, and punching; self defence throws, escapes, and breaks; ground techniques for defence and escapes; Weapons styles (bo staff and nunchucks), Hand to hand and weapons forms. They light to medium contact spar in protective gear several times a month. The sparring is really what brings it together for the kids. They gain so much confidence when they began stepping in the circle. There are many belts but as far as I can tell only 4 real levels, beginner (learning basics), Intermediate (improving techniques and forms), advanced (preparing for black), and expert (black). The belts serve as training markers for the instructors and motivational awards for the children. All of this is great, but what I like most about this studio is that they care about the children. They understand that a child may be late but that is more likely the parents fault then the childs. They help children rather then discipline them when they are unable to perform a particular technique or form. Discipline only shows up when a child gets out of line with another student or an instructor. This rarely happens and I have never seen a severe occurrence. While the students might end up doing a few pushups as a group because they didnt Kia loud enough, individual discipline is rarely needed because the students at this school learn to respect their instructors, peers, and other adults. I also like that they hold occasional Friday night activities for students to get together in a non-training mode and get to know each other and have fun doing activities and playing games while parents go out for dinner or just relax. The instructors here also teach adult classes and go regularly to training events to keep their own skills at a high level. You will pay a small premium for this school but it is well worth it to be able to leave your children with excellent instructors you know are kind and trustworthy. As for the Adult class I also recommend it. I suffer from severe asthma and John Gwin and staff have always been considerate of this. They encourage me and give me every bit as much instruction as the buff military guys even when I sometimes lose wind and cannot finish a drill. Being respectful, kind, and considerate is a two-way contract. I have watched the instructors here help students with all types of physical and mental impediments. They are highly skilled martial artists and good kind people.
