In our first meeting they listened to our needs and began drafting a design the met those needs and exceeded expectations. It’s a first time build for me so I had many questions. Without exception they were answered patiently and professionally. I really felt like they wanted my house to be the best it could be not just for me but also to satisfy their pride in doing a good job. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We found Legacy through their impressive Houzz and Google reviews after we’d had a disappointing experience with another architectural designer, who made us consider giving up on our dream home.We showed Gary our previous set of plans, that had already been approved by the city, and within moments Gary found an issue that would have made half of our garage unusable. He took time and we discussed a ton of moderate changes and fantastic advice, before he even quoted what they would do the work for. We finally were getting the feedback and real-world expertise we needed! Gary spent more time with us in that first meeting than our first designer did the whole time we worked with him. Then, Gary handed us off to a team member of his named Brent who was just as impressive.Brent is easy to get a hold of, quick to get back to us with updates, VERY detail oriented, and obviously passionate about what he does. When we asked for a change or update, he either did it quickly, or followed up with us when he needed more information. We’re not builders or designers, just people who had a pretty good idea what they wanted, but Brent never ignored our ignorant questions. He never was sarcastic or frustrated when we had questions others may have felt were nit-picky. He never tried to rush us or tell us we were using too much time. You can just tell how much he cared. The fantastic suggestions he made and how patient he was with us make us feel he would act the exact same designing this house for his best friend.He was always going above and beyond.He added extra details, just to make us comfortable. One example: we’d already decided on our kitchen design and didn’t know if it would fit in the space we had. The first designer we worked with added cabinets very grudgingly and generically; never with much detail, just saying we could work it out with the carpenter later, assuring us it would look fine in the end. Brent took the opposite approach. He outlined the cabinet sizes to make sure everything lined up the way we wanted. He didn’t have to do that, and we found we needed to move two doorways/openings. If we wouldn’t have used Legacy, our kitchen wouldn’t have fit!Brent jumped into a discussion we were having with our city about the building envelope without being asked, making sure he could notate the plans the way they wanted to make sure they were approved. He added so many little custom details that our builder agreed he didn’t have to, but we’re so glad he did because so many of those little details won’t be forgotten in the chaos of construction. The plans are so much clearer, cleaner, and better now. We feel SO much more confident it will be built the way we want. If we’d built the house with the plans we had before Legacy, we’d be kicking ourselves for decades. The experience was night and day!We are unreservedly ecstatic about our new finished floor plans.The fact that you’ll pay the same or less for Legacy’s expertise as other much less helpful firms is flat-out amazing. They were such a great find and made the difference between us deciding, officially to build our dream custom home. We’ll be singing their praises for years.

Greg has been amazing to work with. We build over 500 homes each year in the Utah. We switched to using Legacy Drafting as our designer team almost 3 years ago. Our plans pass through the city review processes much faster with his attention to detail. Our subcontractors are happier and have less questions throughout the build process. We have also experienced less change orders throughout our projects, because Gregs plans are fully vetted and represent a complete design.

If I could give Legacy Drafting 10 stars I would! This was our first time needing a drafter/architect and we shopped around to find one that was both affordable and could really understand our project (a custom home build with modern style). We met with them prior to our choosing who we would use and right off the bat we knew that Shelbey and Greg understood our goals and could give us constructive and experienced feedback to help us improve what wed been wanting. We had the privilege of working directly with Shelbey and our ENTIRE EXPERIENCE working with him was phenomenal! Shelbey has fantastic ideas and experience behind him that helped us to make informed decisions along the way. He was able to take our notes (that often looked like chicken-scratch on a napkin!) and quickly draw up different options for us to choose from. He was super patient with all our revisions and never made us feel like we needed to settle or go faster than we felt comfortable. We felt like he genuinely wanted us to be happy with our end product. He was able to make changes quickly (which was another concern we had before choosing them after hearing how long drafters/architects often take to get back to their customers with drawings) and was a fantastic communicator the whole way through. We met with him on a regular basis so that we could sit and see the actual changes as well as view our new home on his screen with a 3D viewer. He was super easy to work with and we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him or Greg, who oversaw our project and also offered some good ideas. Building and designing a custom home can be stressful, but working with them eased ALL of stress that we were actually a little sad when their portion of the project was done! It was SO SO SO HELPFUL that it didnt cost anything extra every time we needed to adjust the drawings, but that the price was based on the ending square footage. We will definitely use them again in the future! We cannot thank you enough, Legacy Drafting!!

Not only are the designs amazing, but the company is wonderful to work with, start to finish. Theres a lot of expertise here, with a lot of though going into excellent designs that take advantage of space and functionality. These things combined with a lot of knowledge of the building industry can add up to some significant savings during the building stage.
