We spent this COVID summer tearing out blackberries and trimming the holly in our backyard (cant go anywhere; might as well do yard work!). Between that and other yard maintenance and demo projects, we amassed a huge pile of yard waste. Added to that, we had a shed that was falling apart when we moved in 9 years ago, and which had not improved with age. G.I. Junk Removal responded promptly to our request for a quote, quoted us less than we expected, scheduled the work quickly, showed up when they said they would, worked very hard in very hot weather, made sure we were happy with the job, and came in under the original quote, all while being professional, friendly, and courteous. We needed a couple hundred feet of chain link fencing removed from our back yard and G.I. Junk scheduled our appointment within a week of us calling, then removed it all hassle-free and also hauled away some extra wooden fence slats and a few other trash items as well. I had a unoccupied house land in my lap after a relative passed away, it was full top to bottom with stuff. While my family and I worked to empty most of the house the basement was the biggest challenge due to the narrow stairs and single entrance/exit. Not to mention the dust, dirt, mice, furniture, etc.I spoke to three companies for this job, two came out in person and one only viewed photos I sent in. GI Junk was already in the lead due to their platform on helping veterans, but they also impressed even before being hired. Jeremiah was very confident and that really put my family at ease since we have never handled anything like this before. He had a very calm and patient demeanor and was very respectful regarding our loss. They had hoped to finish in one day but honestly, there was just SO MUCH STUFF, they squeezed us in and returned the next day. They even made sure to bring anything that looked important (family photos/memorabilia) to us to double check, we found a few things that probably would have been missed otherwise.I would definitely recommend and will use them again as needed. We had them pick up donations and a lot of random junk. Most of our boxes from moving. They made sure to separate the junk from the donations. It was nice not having to load up our truck and try to find the dump or find a place to donate. She made sure to call or text to keep me up to date on their arrival. We had it all moved onto the driveway to make it easier for them.

They were very fair priced to begin with. I simply text messaged the phone number on the website and they immediately got back to me with a price and time frame of when they would be here. They came and were very professional and kind. They were very careful when moving the furniture through the door being careful not to scratch walls etc. I highly recommend them to anyone who has things to be removed.

The two guys called to see if they could come earlier then my appointment because they had a cancellation. Was happy to have them two hours earlier. They took everything I wanted out of my sheds. I love these guys. Jackie was fun to banter with. He did a great job educating me that I can dump and donate. Donations will go to help homeless vets get back on their feet. Once he said that, I was eager to donate for that cause. The clean up team had fun personalities and did a great job loading and quoting a fair deal. I will use again and recommend them to everyone.

*UPDATE*I ended up booking GI Junk for yard debris and other general junk removal. They had car troubles and called to tell me they would be an hour late. I appreciated their promptness letting me know! Once they got here, I gave them the run down of what I needed to be complete and they got to work! They were friendly, hard working, and like their website states ~ they knocked it out in no time. I appreciated their work effort and I would definitely hire them again! If you want the job right, quickly, and efficiently then this is the place!I called because we did a complete overhaul of our backyard with yard debris. After the fires we had a lot of branches, leaves, mulch, dirt, etc... thrown all about. I finally had the time to clean it all up. After that we had bags upon bags of yard debris. Unfortunately because there’s some dirt and mulch mixed in, it can’t just go to a leaf pickup. Anyhow, I called this company to see if they could help, but unfortunately their receptionist/initial service provider was rude and told me “they don’t pick up trash, we can’t help you.” I always do my research first and their site specifically says that they can tackle yard debris, and knock out the job in no time. It’s unfortunate that either not everyone at the company knows what they do on a daily basis and the services they provide, or just didn’t care to help a potential customer.Above is my original post, but I want to update because I think the situation is on the mend.Apparently the call center is not their actual business operation. The operations manager contacted me - not because of my review, but because a few days ago I had also submitted a form requesting a quote. But, he called me saying he had seen my email request regarding a service. I told him my experience, and he was very apologetic and that they pride themselves on customer service. Through the phone he sounded genuine, as well as genuinely disheartened to hear my recent experience. I think I will move forward with service and hope for the best.

What a wonderful experience. I booked with GI Junk Removal on line after seeing one of their trucks in the community. I received a phone call to go over the services. The gentleman who called me was very professional and explained the process. I was able to get booked within a day for pick-up. Diannah and her crew showed up right on time. They were all respectful of property and moved quickly to load up the items from my garage. Every one of her team were professional and friendly. I have recommended them to 4 different people today alone. It is my understanding that GI Junk uses local Veterans and the funds stay in our community. I cant think of a better way to support our Veterans and I will definitely keep recommending them.

I had to have my mothers home cleaned out. Thirty years of ...everything. Including the garage...and the attic. They came in and got it done. It took two days and was a bit more work than expected, but they pretty much stuck with their estimate. And after the house was emptied, they moved items we were keeping into the garage. Including a piano. Great guys, that did and awesome job. There is no way we could have done the job ourselves and I am glad we didnt even try. I would definitely recommend them to any one!

We’ve used G.I. Junk a couple times now, and both times they’ve been great! I usually call to make an appointment, I suspect my email filter blocked responses from their online form. When I call, we go over what needs to get taken away and talk through rates so I have a clear expectation of what the final costs could be, depending on the size of the load once it’s in. When their team is on their way I get a text so know to be ready, which is extra helpful now that that means finding my mask to greet them safely. Their team members are very professional and friendly, making sure to ask questions and have me look over their work to make sure nothing was missed, and wearing face coverings/keeping distance during the pandemic. I trust them to dispose of all our junk correctly and responsibly, and I’m so glad to have their services!

I had an old elliptical machine I needed to scrap. I received excellent communication via email/text, which I greatly appreciated since I hate phone calls. They texted me when they were in their way & were here precisely on time. Dude just lifted that machine up & carried it downstairs while his partner took my payment. It took like 5 minutes. The company was great about providing me timely updates for whom and when would be picking up my furniture. They let me know when they departed so I had a heads up for arrival time. Everything from there worked like clockwork!

We had an appointment later in the day. They had an opening earlier. They called and asked if they could come early. I was home and appreciated them coming early. They got right to work and removed the 3 pieces of furniture we wanted gone in no time. Their prices are reasonable, better than some of the others we got.

Diannah and her crew showed up on time ready to work. They had communicated with me prior too so I knew exactly what to expect and how to prepare for them showing up. They were all extremely friendly and hard working. They were able to fill practically a whole trailer in a little less than 90 minutes (including dismantling some furniture and unhooking washer/dryer) from a raised level home without damaging the walls or the appliances for donation.Not only did they manage to remove everything we asked in an extremely timely fashion they came in almost $200 under the initial bid. I cant recommend them enough and the services they provide couldnt support a better cause.

Clearing out my Moms house (of 44 years) to sell. Googled Junk Removal Companies and happened to come across these folks! I was a little doubtful that they could conquer this monumental task. Moved out furniture, old paint cans, mattress. Even though everything was in the garage ready for pick up they were still careful not to hit walls or the garage door. They were ready early but I wasnt available until the scheduled time so they patiently waited. No complaints from them, no pressure. Would definitely use them again.

The guys from GI Junk Removal were great! They were both kind and extremely professional. They handled our furniture with care and were conscious about not hitting walls and lights. We had gone back and forth about them removing another piece of furniture, then last minute decided not to and they adjusted our price, no problem. I would highly recommend using them!!

The crews from GI Junk Removal were excellent! I had a LARGE eye sore of a shed and a dilapidated deck that needed to be torn down and hauled away. The men and women who came were punctual, professional, did a very thorough job and were friendly to boot! It was very reasonably priced and every single one of them had the respectable work ethic that comes with military service. I will absolutely use them again and highly recommend them.

They were on time and worked quickly. But the yard debris they were removing was the tree branches from cutting down a couple of small trees and an apple tree which had apples on them that fell off during the removal process. My wife asked at the end if they could take the last of the apples and some other small sticks that broke off. They told her no because they wouldn’t be able to put their tarp over the load. It was about 50-100 apples at the most that would have easily fit. But it wasn’t something they wanted to do. I feel like paying a company $499 to pick up branches for two hours, they would be more then happy to pick up the apples. So I do not recommend this company or I will not be using them again.

The men arrived in their expected tome frame. They got the work done quickly & they were thorough. Hiring them was well worth the expense of not having to deal with loading & hauling. I would definitely use the again. I would highly recommend them to others.

The crew even swept the details for me. If youre a DIY person like me and end up with odds and ends, scrap waste, house left overs and dont have means for hauling I recommend adding JDog as your annual clean up crew.
