My son was in a tutoring group with Larson Tutoring this past fall, as he was starting his freshman year of high school doing full-time distance learning. We wanted to give him an experience of in-person instruction, especially for geometry and physics. Abby provided an engaging experiences for the small group, and my son not only enjoyed it, but felt it was the best part of his school week. Abby is personable and professional, and really seemed to care about the individual needs of the kids in the group. We will definitely use Larson Tutoring again!

We have been working with Abby and Brett for about a year. My daughter is not a native speaker; we moved to the US 3 years ago. My daughter Christina originally scored an 1100 on her SAT. Following her tutoring experience with both Abby And Brett Larson, she scored a 1340. Christina scored her SAT of 1100 in October of 2017 and scored her score of 1340 in December of 2017. In just 7.5 weeks of tutoring, her score improved significantly. Abby has been a wonderful tutor to my three high school kids. They have also taken her SAT Prep class and increased their SAT score substantially. My son worked with Abby and Brett for test preparation for the ACT. He had taken the SAT previously and needed a bit higher score (or the ACT equivalent) to attain a significant additional academic scholarship. My son went to five 2 hour sessions with Abby and Brent and then sat for the ACT. He ended up earning the EXACT score that he neeeded to earn this additional scholarship. Abby and Brett did a great job working with my daughter. I brought her there in the hopes of adding 100 or so points to her already good SAT scores. Abby helped my son move his SAT score up by 500 points!Late last year my son had taken a practice SAT test and we were concerned that the test score did not reflect his true abilities. Working with Abby, my son took a 5-week course in the summer that included two group sessions along with one individual training session each week. In addition, he took and she critiqued 3 full practice exams on the weekend. My sons scores rose by 500 points. He applied to and was accepted to 4 different colleges - 3 in Oregon and one in Minnesota. I would highly recommend Abby as a Spanish tutor. We have been using Abby for the past two years. Abby is not only highly skilled in teaching Spanish, but is also personable and approachable. My daughter is taking AP Spanish and wanted additional practice in speaking and writing. Abby has tailored their sessions to focus on these areas and my daughter’s speaking and writing skills have improved greatly! Most importantly, my daughter leaves the sessions more confident in how to approach her Spanish work. Abby has also been quite flexible with moving tutoring sessions if needed to accommodate conflicts that come up—a real bonus for busy teenagers!

My daughter worked with Abby and her husband Brett last summer in preparation for taking the ACT test a second time in early September. I worked with Abby during my junior year to help with homework as well as the ensuing summer in preparation for my SAT. Abby was an awesome tutor, not only was she a great teacher, who made things easier to understand, but she was also super easy to talk to and relate to which made our sessions much more enjoyable.While seeing her during the school year, my grades improved. Specifically in Math and Spanish, as those are her specialities and two subjects I have struggled with in the past. Junior year is arguably the most important year in high school, and I’m very thankful for Abby’s help during this time.In addition, we prepared for the impending SAT. At the start, I was worried my score would not be as good as I wanted. I struggled in our first few sessions, specifically with both Math sections. However as our sessions continued and specifically during the 5 week class in the summer, my scores started to shoot up. When I first took the SAT in August, I got it up to a 1190, but I felt I could do better. After preparing with Abby some more, I ended up getting my score up to a 1280 by the next SAT. That score was something I didn’t think was possible at the time of starting our tutoring sessions.Next year I’ll be attending Syracuse University, my dream school, and I can safely say without the help from Abby throughout my junior year as well as her help in bolstering my SAT, I would not have been able to accomplish that.

Abby tutored our son in pre-calc during his junior year and while he was working with her we saw significant gains in his confidence and comprehension. She knew the subject well and was able to teach/explain it in a way that made sense. She communicated with us regularly about how it was going and was always well-prepared for study sessions. I signed up my daughter for Abby’s SAT prep classes last summer. She only sat for PSAT before, and I wanted her to be ready for her first SAT before starting her junior year. The classes were perfect for her, small enough to get enough attention and reasonable price, comparing to other tutoring program. She increased her score from the PSAT of 1200 to 1400 in August SAT (a 200 point increase!) I definitely recommend the classes

I went to Abby and Brett for assistance in studying for the GRE. Coming up to the test I hadnt taken math in 4 years, nor had I done a reading test like the one on the GRE since I took the SAT to get into my undergrad. Both Abby and Brett were incredibly kind and understanding, and in 6 weeks of 3 hours per week, I felt extremely comfortable heading into a test that beforehand I had been terrified of! I ended up meeting my goal for the verbal section (I began with a high goal because I felt I could do well in this section), and exceeding my quantitative goal by 10 points. I would recommend both Abby and Brett for any assistance you may need with classes or big tests. They accommodated to what would help me do my best.

I was a little worried about the cost but the class ended up being worth every penny. My daughters score went up 150 points (w/o the optional writing part)!The class was small - only 5 kids - and my daughter who didnt want to do it, said it ended up being really fun .

Ive been working with Abby for well over a year now, and she has been extremely helpful with any subject I seem to throw at her. For the ACT, she was suggested by a friend after an unsuccessful experience with an online course for the first time I took the test. After several months of practice problems she provided for homework, and having her proctor multiple practice ACTs before exam day, I had a multi point improvement! She has also assisted me with AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics 1/2, helping fill the gaps that arent filled by my teachers.
