Ive been a member since November 2019. I love the vibe and the mission behind Collective Agency. The members are very empowered to help shape the experience. Even though I dont use it every day, I find the space and the people very welcoming. As an infrequent user, I also appreciate the ample signage to help me navigate the kitchenette, printer, etc. Its also a great place to bring colleagues when I need to have an in-person meeting. And its easy to pop into one of the side rooms to take a private phone call.

Ive been a member here since April, and I absolutely love it. As a freelancer, I was looking for a space that would give me an opportunity to meet other working professionals, participate in social events and not break the bank. Collective Agency checks every box on my list.As a member, it feels like my opinions matter. There are weekly group meetings to talk about the space, events, etc. and Alex (the owner) is always available to chat if needed. It truly feels like a collective where members are valued and appreciated. The many social events provide an opportunity to get to know the other members and the book club is always a hit. Its great to have people to eat lunch with again. The amenities are great. Indoor bike parking, showers, and all the basic office kitchen offerings make this space super functional. And you cant beat the location... its surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops and stores. As a bike commuter, I especially appreciate the bike shop on the ground floor. They saved me from a flat tire, and provide any service you could need for your bike.

Good place to have meetings and to give presentations. The only downside is there is no coffee or tea available. You need to go outside to grab some. There are quiet areas for working as well. Affordable prices compared to other alternatives in the area.

Collective Agency has been a productive work space for me. I enjoy the social aspects of the office as well. Normally I just do my own thing, but its nice to have others join you for lunch sometimes. We also have events which is great for meeting people.

Love the vibe and the openness to the work space. This place is very quiet (theres only a handful of people using the space at any given time), with a ton of amenities that are definitely worth the monthly fee and more. Everyone seems very friendly and I enjoy working here a few days a week. While working from home is a great option to building a business, its sometimes great to get out and be in a creative workspace and away from home distractions, etc and also be able to focus on just work. Creative Agency also has conference rooms and smaller break out rooms to use for phone calls, meetings or presentations, theres more than enough quiet and conference room space to meet with clients or hold events. So far, Im really loving working out of this space and look forward to utilizing the event and conference space options more. Looking forward to how this helps with growing my business! Thanks, Alex!

Collective Agency solved my problem finding a great, inexpensive place to work. The members are interesting people who buckle down and get their work done, and I can do that, too. The space is airy, and the furniture is comfortable. Fast WiFi, all the usual office supplies, and a common kitchen, kept clean by staff, round it out. Its much easier to get work done here than at home, with all its distractions; at the library, where my stuff isnt safe when Im taking a break; or in a cafe. Highly recommended.

As an older academic, Collective Agency was a clean modern quiet place to work while on fieldwork. The members were mature kind people, and I appreciated having the office to go into every day. Thanks so much Collective Agency Division!

As a workspace, this place was adequate. The location is slightly out of the way, though there is a stop for the Line 9 bus literally in front of the door. The building is within reasonable walking distance of most places.Inside, the facilities are adequate, though the room rented for a small group of 3 people had an odd table placement and the space itself seemed.. cramped. The host was friendly and -- most importantly -- leaves you alone.

I have been a member of Collective Agency for eight months (since August 2018). I work from the Downtown office, and I highly recommend it as a productive, cozy workplace for freelancers, remote workers, and entrepreneurs. Here are a few reasons why:Location: I have found the 10th Ave. location to be a real asset. There are food carts right across the street. It is a short walk to Target, Whole Foods, Pioneer Place, and Powell’s if you need to run an errand. Walking to the waterfront makes for a nice break from work.I’ve had meetings with people in all five(!) quadrants and have easily been able to get to these meeting via public transit from near the office.Bonus: Need a dentist? This building is chock full of them (I got a filling and was back in the office in less than an hour).Ambience: Alex, the owner, takes great care to make the Collective Agency offices as comfortable and inviting as possible, using warm lighting, carefully controlled room temperature, art and textiles, etc. He’s constantly making improvements and solicits feedback on these improvements. Plus, the view is beautiful.Amenities: Pretty much anything you could think of that would make for a productive office is already at Collective Agency. That includes ergonomic chairs, computer monitors, printers, chargers of every variety, a paper cutter, screen cleaner, batteries, first aid kit, and so many other things—seriously, if you need it, it’s probably there. There’s a great selection of coffee and tea and tons of kitchen supplies. There are lockers to keep your stuff, a nice library of books, and even a telescope. There are small rooms that can be used to take private phone calls or meetings, and larger rooms are also available to reserve in the building if you need them. There’s a shower on the first floor if you want to take an exercise break or bike to work.People/Community: Collective Agency is a place where you can be very productive, in part because the cozy ambience and ample amenities leave you free to focus on work but also because of the other members. People work hard here and are passionate about what they do, and that can be contagious. While it’s often pretty quiet, there are lots of opportunities to get to know your coworking coworkers (if you choose—everything is optional). That includes weekly meetings, eating lunch together, going on walks to the farmers market or to get ice cream, and events like happy hours, game nights, grilled cheese brunches, bowling, and even a book club (my favorite). I’ve really enjoyed getting to know people here. It’s useful to be able to talk about the benefits and challenges of remote or freelance work (or starting a business) or just to have those water-cooler conversations you have in a typical office. When I worked at home I often felt isolated and lonely. I can honestly say that coworking at Collective Agency has been a boon to my mental health.I may sound like a total shill, but I think others should know about about this gem of a community!

I was in Portland for a short visit and bought a three day pass to get some work done while I was in town. Im glad I did. The space has a great vibe and the people were friendly. I got a ton done on a project that had been languishing for a while. My only regret is that I dont live in Portland, so I cant work here every day.

Im one of those people who researches everything very thoroughly before committing. I spent a month or more learning about espresso machines before buying one Im still happy with over 5 years later. So believe me when I say that I did my research—and concluded that Collective Agency is the best co-working space in Portland. I did trial days at several different places, including the Division location of Collective Agency, prior to committing to a full-on membership. To me, the best part of working in an office is the ability to connect with and even form friendships with those sharing the space with you. After working out of my home office for the past 6 years, I realized that being alone all day, every day, just isnt healthy for me.The other co-working spaces I tried were nice, had great amenities, and were convenient in a lot of ways. But none of them has the kind of culture that Alex Linsker has cultivated. So far, from what Ive seen, he has been an incredible example of a leader, because his goal is clearly to serve the members, and create the workspaces that we want.People at other coworking spaces dont talk to each other, except for maybe a courteous hello while you pass each other getting coffee. Even the events that are held by some coworking spaces seem to be geared more towards networking with only professional advancement goals in mind—i.e. what can these people offer me to further my business/career? Theres not anything wrong with that per se... But the events at Collective Agency seem more genuine, with the entire goal being genuine human connection...And really, isnt that the most important thing? Speaking as someone who hasnt had an IRL community for 6 years, let me tell you... It is.With other co-working spaces, your membership fees probably go towards practical things keeping the office lights on, rent, and paying the people who own/manage the space. And of course, those things are necessary. But with Collective Agency, Alex takes all that above and beyond. Not only is Collective Agency the only co-working space I found that actually supplies extra equipment like cables, connectors, spare chargers, and even extra monitors to collect your laptop to... Alex also makes sure that there is enough high quality equipment for every member to use (for example, hes upgrading some of the computer monitors at one location currently), and he spends money on extra things to encourage the communal vibes like games and couches, plus he encourages (but doesnt mandate) member participation and involvement. If all you want is a place to plunk down your laptop and get some work done, by all means, go with the most convenient co-working space. However, if youre looking, not just for productivity, but for intentional community, led by someone who truly cares about what you want—then you need to hurry up and join Collective Agency, like, yesterday.

I had no idea such a place existed here in Portland! I came here to meet with someone and found the staff to be amazingly helpful and sweet! As someone who does work from home, this may be an awesome alternative and a great place to get work done!
