Pathetic. What happened to the Marriott brand? Dirty showers, torn linen. Cheap thin towels. I had not seen thinner toilet paper anywhere around the world. Air condition is preset and nothing can be done about it. You have to ask for everything: for the room to be cleaned, for an extra toilet paper roll, for clean towels, for coffee packets (very bad coffee but what are you going to do if you are jetlagged, wake up at 5 am and need coffee?), for the body wash that was not refilled, etc. etc. The staff are generally helpful (thank you, Shakaila, Lyric and Elena; no thank you to Nick the pompous p..erson who will condescendingly tell you about Marriott standards hes been chosen to enforce). But even the best staff cant do much about the general operating conditions, and nothing about the unsafe surroundings of the hotel. Lots of homeless people, some of them aggressive. During our one week stay we were assaulted twice. I recommend staying away from this place.

My daughter and I arrived at the hotel at 11 PM after a stressful day of losing our wallet and ID in LA and having to take ID tests with the TSA to fly. When we arrived we explained we had no ID except for my minor daughters, we had previously booked online and already had a reservation. with the hotel. For not having ID the woman did not allow us to stay, I understand it may be policy but the woman was very rude and offered no help whatsoever, she kicked us out. We walked a couple of blocks to the Hoxton instead where we found a charming and helpful woman who gave us a room instead. Do not recommend.

I wanted to wait until our stay was complete here to give a true assessment of the place. These are tough times for the hospitality industry and hotels are finding creative ways to keep their guests engaged. For example, every night the hotel would put lavender for guests in small bags. Small thing, but very thoughtful. The hotel is very spacious in the guest rooms and is nice because is a small hotel but not so small that it feels like there’s only a handful of guest rooms. It’s also not large enough that you don’t get to treat with employees on a one on one basis. Which brings me to my final point, the staff. We had the opportunity to chat and share with the phenomenal staff here and I was impressed with how much they go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable. For example, given that their restaurant is closed, they would run to the nearby restaurant to pick up dessert for my wife and bring it to the bar onsite. Very thoughtful and it makes us wanting to always come back here.

Stayed 1 night with my family. We had 4 rooms and all 4 were absolutely beautiful! Rooms are extremely clean and modern and comfortable! Hotel staff are beyond friendly and make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. I read in another review about the floor, and one of the floor slats in our bathroom was a little loose but because it is in the bathroom and Portland is such a moist area with all the rain, there is no way for the hotel to stop that from happening! The front desk manager (Great lady!) took care of it right away and her main concern was our safety (loved that) and who cares about one small silly loose floor slat that can be popped right back into place when you have a stunning huge rain shower!! And no tiny bottles of shampoo! They provide full size bottles!!! Great touch! Great location! Great staff, beautiful view and rooms!! Oh and a shout out the the friendly bartender who made me a much needed Bloody Mary after a long trip! It was delicious and didn’t break the bank! We could not be happier with our stay!!

This is essentially a nice courtyard Marriott with extremely expensive overnight parking. It’s a great location (which is why I chose it) and the staff are all super nice and helpful. Loved the little coffee bar that was open in the mornings but wish there were some cheaper breakfast food options so I could have stayed within my company allowances without eating at Starbucks every day.

I arrived to a room that had a dirty comforter stained with a brown substance all over. It is bringing into question the cleanliness of the hotel and their attention to detail to keep their guests safe. It does not seem like they wash their sheets for each new guest, or they dont wash them well. When I showed pictures of the brown stains, I was asked whether it is something I would like changed out in a manner that seems to suggest this is normal and Im being a nuisance. With COVID and a sensitivity to cleanliness, this is an extreme example of a business not taking it seriously. In addition, on check out day the hotel ran out of luggage carts to go around. The staff did not offer alternatives. Instead I had to make multiple trips to bring down my luggage. My past experience with AC Hotel have generally been good but this is making me reconsider.

Beautifully designed rooms with intimate, almost Japanesey styling. Appreciated the local art touches throughout public spaces. Not particularly well run however, and the location is central but not charming, except for being close to a cool and delicious Vietnamese street food place a block away. The valet lost the keys to our rental car. After an hour of waiting, then another hour of contacting the rental company, scheduling a Lyft back to the airport, contacting a tow truck and just a mess of a situation they were able to locate the keys. Overall we were happy with the final outcome and after the hotel operations manager offered us free drinks and Marriott points it seemed to be a good end to a stressful situation. Upon arrival home, no points were added, and they charged our room for the free drinks offered. I alerted the manager hoping it was simply an oversight and no response for several weeks now. Really horrible service and then a sad resolution when they take back their offer. 1 StarUpdate 8/10:They have processed the Marriott points they offered 2 months later. Changed to 3 stars.

So while my room has some cool modern touches, and nice accent lighting, it also has some real quality issues. The vinyl flooring is rippled, not stuck down to the floor, makes it feel really cheap. The shower door doesnt close, the glass is not alligned and the view is as terrible as it gets. The staff are very friendly and efficient. There is also no bottled water, no cups and no coffee setup. At all. Its hard to contact the hotel. I tried several times before check in and was never able to get anyone on the phone. It took 2 calls from the room to reach someone. Once reached, the front desk offered to have missing items brought up. 😖 They brought a coffee pot, 2 cups and 2 lids. No coffee or sugar/creamer.... No water or water cups. I dont know if I even want to try again... He apologized for it taking so long. At this point I can be pretty sure I wont be back. Bed time - long hair in the sheets in the foot of the bed. I dont know if that means the sheets werent changed or if its from housekeeping.

I had a one night stay at the AC, which has quickly become one of my favorite brands for quick and extended business trips. However, the Portland property, while both fashionable and clean, was disappointing from a customer experience perspective. I had to wait outside for four minutes for the valet, thinking they were moving another car. It was 45 degrees and raining; however, none of the heat lamps were on. Finally I looked inside and found the valet joking with others. Check-in was friendly; but there was no recognition for being a Titanium. I clarified with the check-in clerk about all of my benefits, including an upgrade (which, for the record, was the same room two floors lower after I asked). If you stay 90+ nights a year at Marriott, the elite benefits should be recognized. Instead, youre almost always going through the motions. My room package came with drinks for two, but they only gave me one drink voucher - a small slight, but they indicated that giving me a second would be a waste. The bar attendant took my voucher and gave me a glass and never interacted with me again, never asking if Id like another or food. Other guests who tried to order food were disappointed as well by the service that kept saying, No, we dont have that or No our kitchen is too smallThe next morning was the best example of poor service. I went down to the breakfast area (which, for the record, is ACs strongest feature). No one was there and I stood there for four minutes waiting for a table. I went to the front desk to ask and they said they would bring someone out, and another four minutes later, a guy rushed up, asked sarcastically if I had been to an AC before, and said you know the drill and walked off. I ordered one prepared dish when I saw him again (he kept going to the kitchen and disappearing) and then he tossed the bill and that was it. Service here was just poor. Nearly everyone I interacted with was indifferent to myself or other guests. Had I needed an actual service or assistance, I would have been left out to dry.

Nice modern and new hotel. Very polite staff. Only reason I couldnt give 5 stars was my room on the 6th floor was super close to the office building next door. So much so the lights from that building lit up my entire room. The drapes needed to be closed not only for that but privacy was not there if opened. Perhaps if you are on a higher floor this will not be an issue. Additionally the light switches were pretty complicated to use. Finally funny thing is the arrows pointing you to the hydration stations (on multiple floors) were not pointing the right way. They all point left and right but only 1 station was found. Overall nice property .

Very ultra modern hotel in a great location in DT Portland. Security seemed good since you had to use your room key to access a floor. Bathroom and shower were very nice. Bed comfortable. Did not eat breakfast there as there were so many places in the city that we wanted to try. View was nice. If you are the type that lives out of your suit case and your are there for a short time, then the lack of closet space or drawers works for you. We stayed for 4 nights and the general design is more modern, more simple, less of the old closet/drawer type hotel. Which is fine if that is what you like. Bathroom is modern, shower very nice. Overall it was a very nice stay. Halls a tad warm, but wasnt in them that long so not a big deal. Valet parking is only option if you rent a car and like all DT City Hotels, parking is expensive. But you really dont need a rental car unless you plan on leaving the DT area to see the falls and Columbia River. That is what we did one day.

First visit to Portland? Gotta stay at the AC Hotel in downtown Portland! The hotel was pretty centralized to lots of good food places from eater and local recommendations, attractions, and shopping. Public transportation was really close by for easy access to leave the downtown area and to get to the airport. Excellent customer service from check in to checkout. But really the bartender Quinton and Denise was the best on 11/10/19. They had great recommendations for food and entertainment/attractions. For drinks they did an excellent job. Quinton and Denise made us many drinks while we ate our food at the bar from Luc Lac from next store since the line was super long for a table. We spent many many hours and many many drinks while chatting with them for recommendations to do in Portland especially our last night there. Denise was great entertainment as she made our drinks for the night. We wish we got to know them earlier in our trip have a better trip in Portland. We took their recommendations for our last brunch and it was excellent. If you run out of ideas to do in Portland. Just ask Denise and Quinton for ideas. They have lots of great things to do as locals. Thank you Denise and Quinton for making our first time to Portland great even though we had to meet on our last day before heading home to San Francisco and we still did many of your recommendations before our flight home the next evening.

Did a get-away long weekend trip to Portland with my girlfriend and booked this hotel on account of its stylish furnishings and convenient, central location in Downtown. Our experience definitely lived up to our expectations. The hotel is just a few minutes walking from the red and blue line MAX light rail stations and minutes to the waterfront of the Williamette River. Portland is very compact, so walking to, say, Blue Star Donuts is only 15-20 minutes. There are several other Portland rail mass transit systems available that made getting around a breeze. Our room was tidy, spacious, and comfortable. The bed was great, and we appreciated the free HBO subscription. The bathroom was similarly spacious and elegant, with a lovely waterfall shower and quick hot water. Acoustically, we could hear a small amount of sound from outside our room, but it wasnt enough to be bothersome (and only really noticed if we were absolutely silent). We didnt have a chance to take advantage of the amenities too much, but theres a small gym in the basement that looked fine, a solid-looking bar, and a decent coffee stand in the mornings. Would definitely stay here again.

I was totally blown away by the greetings and emails we received prior to even arriving at the facility. My wife and I were in town for the Waterfront Blues Festival, and this location looked like it was ideal for walking to the event. It was perfect, and the service we got was outstanding. The bar stayed open for a little while, after we arrived, so we could have a night cap and wind down from the trip. The next four days were spent walking the downtown area, attending special events at the WBF, and getting to know Portland. This was one of my better hotel experiences in a long time, with service and facilities that were both top notch. I would recommend this to anyone going to Portland, that wanted to stay downtown and get some local experiences. Its close to the public transportation system, and easy to get around town. Thank you for what you do.

The later check in time is a little inconvenient for business travel but the lobby area is comfortable and includes tables where you can work. The room was quite comfortable and I loved that there is no carpet in the room. So much more inviting than a carpet where you dont even want to take your shoes off. - makes doing yoga, pilates, or just stretching after a long walk so much better. The hotel is also quite close to the lightrail so while they do not provide shuttle service to the airport, its convenient, and much cheaper, to just take light rail. It also gives you more freedom to explore the city.

The free WiFi is fast enough for streaming movies so no need to upgrade to the pay WiFi. Highly recommended this hotel.

This hotel was a perfect place for my stay, based on its proximity to several Downtown Portland staples (can you say Voodoo Donut?). The room was clean and quiet, the bed comfortable, with a very modern bathroom. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. The Business Center may be small but it had everything I needed. Overall, it was a great place to stay!

So happy with this, I didnt realize how nice it was until we arrived! Everything was perfect about the room, loved the rain shower head from the ceiling. Service was great and they were very helpful. Wish there was room service is all I could complain about. But that saved us money!! Would definitely return.

No on site parking. Room had some non functioning lights and the flooring was coming up in places. One of the shower nozzles always faced the floor. Coffee setup is in the bathroom. Sliding door to the bathroom did nothing to separate the bathroom activities from the rest of the room. Response to issues from the hotel was we will look into it

As a Marriott fan and loyalist, I am biased toward their properties, so I decided to give the AC a shot. In a nutshell: if you are attending an event at the waterfront - this is a good location 2 blocks away. It is slightly upscale, modern. Clean. Comfortable beds. Good bar.The decor and storage in these rooms is good looking, modern, & extremely minimal. As in: no drawers, no towel rods, no closet - just a 1 foot rod. For a weekend, its fine. For a longer stay, its not terribly practical. However, the AC isnt my favorite Marriott property in Portland for several reasons. While pretty good for general downtown events, it is not the most centrally located. Street parking is particularly tough here, & valet is ~$46/daily. The front desk staff is mediocre. Housekeeping and food/bar are better.

We stayed here with a wedding party. We checked in easily and got our room right away. The rooms are clean, the bar and breakfast areas nice. There arent a ton of amenities here, but there is a small fitness center, computers where you can print, and friendly staff. Its more functional than fun, but a short walk to lots of shops and restaurants.

We loved this hotel. The staff are super friendly at check-in and the doormen are helpful as well. The rooms are modern and clean. The elevators were fast and not having to wait was nice with kids. Its a great spot in town and very walkable. It was not overpriced as some other options we looked at. I would visit again.

The coffee at the AC Slab coffee was excellent. Isabella was so friendly and personable. Really enjoyed hanging out in the lobby sipping on a great latte. I would highly recommend.

Was pleasantly surprised by the AC Hotel. A colleague selected it so I booked in too to share transportation. The lobby was inviting and clean with lots of seating options. Staff was friendly, helpful and efficient. Breakfast provided a good selection for our entire traveling party and got us back out the door quickly. The room felt very European with clean lines, minimal clutter which I appreciate. The bathroom was well appointed and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall, a pretty awesome hotel with a great location in Downtown Portland. My only issue was that we were not told of a change in our reservation prior to checking in. Our room was under emergency maintenance, and we were moved to the Hotel Zags. This caused inconvenience to our situation since were coming straight from PDX, and it was 2 AM. After receiving the news that we were transplanted to Hotel Zags, there was no offer for a shuttle or ride there. Although the walk wasnt bad, walking at night in the city with your luggage is inconvenient/set us back on our trip.My suggestion would be to contact those affected guests before their check in, if able. Nevertheless, once we did settle in the hotel the next day, the stay was great!

I recently stayed 12 days at AC Hotel Portland Downtown and overall had a great experience. The highlight was Emily and Terry at the bar. Very professional and friendly and made my nightcap at the end of each day relaxing and enjoyable. The style and design of the interior of lobby and rooms are simplistic, but have an upscale feel. My only complaint is that housekeeping in the rooms could be a little better. I keep a pretty tidy room when I stay in a hotel and only have housekeeping come in every 2-3 days. They did a good job in bathroom, but didnt vacuum the floors during my entire stay. Other than that, overall it was a great experience and Ill stay with them again.

AC Hotel Downtown Portland is a great location and has all of the flair of a stylish modern hotel. Staff are friendly, helpful and willing. The hotel seems to still be working out some kinks and therefore only receives an average rating for value but it is worthy of a visit to gauge the experience for yourself.

The AC was wonderful! I have stayed in nearly every 4+ star hotel in Portland and the AC beats them all. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Modern finishings and quite surroundings. The espresso bar in the lobby is outstanding and a nice change from the typical hotel coffee offerings. The lobby lounge was a wonderful and lively spot to meet friends. The staff at the AC are all remarkable people and Jeff, at the front desk, was a superstar! Cannot recommend the AC enough!

Obviously expensive because of location.... Leftover food in the fridge from previous customer instantly made me feel like there was a lack of cleaning. Flooring starting to buckle in a few spots in the room need to be addressed. Sh8{{y view from view was by chance, but for the price of the room youd think youd have a better view than the top of a flat roof and air conditioners. Very nice staff though 👍

I love staying at this hotel! I come to Portland often for work and AC is my first choice of hotel. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, but what really stands out is the service Ive received. Beyond the kindness of the front desk, Im always happy to see GC + Sunner in the mornings when Im having breakfast in the dining area. They are attentive, cheerful, and make my early starts to the day more joyful. Appreciate all you do!

Hotel location is perfect for easy access to great dining and activities. Pictures online very accurately represent the hotel in all aspects. I was contacted by the hotel personally to ensure my stay was pleasant, which it was. Top notch and high marks to their management team and staff for making us feel right at home.

No complaints. For me to give five stars on a hotel, they have to go above and beyond. The AC Hotel was clean with a polite staff and was centrally located. There is also great food within walking distance, which is a plus. The breakfast was really nice and had plenty of options beyond a traditional continental breakfast and the waiter was so top notch that we tipped him 150%.

AC Hotel is a good choice for hotels in downtown Portland. It is close by to a lot of restaurants, bars and shops which is nice to walk around. The rooms are pretty nice and semi-updated. Service is good as well, with employees all over the place at all times. If you are looking for a place to stay at a good price, this should be on your list.

Just stayed at the AC Hotel for five days. The hotel staff were so friendly and always there to offer the best restaurant, a ride to that restaurant and then a great gym to work out in the following morning. We enjoyed our stay in this very modern and very new hotel. Oh yes, and the beds were super comfortable and rain shower head in the shower. One more thing...the lighting in the rooms was fantastic. I want this for my home. We will return.

This is a new Marriott property right in the heart of downtown. Its a great location to walk to just about anything in the downtown core. Its clean, quiet and modern. They have a small gym (sadly no pool or hot tub) and a restaurant/bar. Theres also a coffee counter in the lobby open in the mornings for your fix.(Extra points for being next door to Luc Lac Kitchen, probably the best Asian food in town.)

My friends and I stayed at the AC Hotel for a night as we were attending a concert. Everything was clean and super up to date. The staff was friendly and eager to help. I have no complaints. The only difficulty we faced was with the parking as they only seemed to have valet parking, but thats expected for downtown Portland.
