They built me gaming PC a while ago. To this day it still runs without any issues. They were quite responsive and completed the build in a timely manner.

Because of the recommendation of a friend who makes his living working on computers, I gave these fellows a try, and I had a pretty complicated problem but they talked me through it over the phone and took care of it. Today I had a minor problem with the numbers not typing, and they suggested another test other than the number lock, which promptly took care of it. I would recommend them to anybody especially those that are challenged by computer technology to trust them with your computer. Great guys and so appreciate the help.

I use my PC for music production. Last week I got in a new Audio Interface - a unit for recording & mixing music on your compter. This particular interface is the EVO-8, which runs solely on a USB-C powered cable. But I needed a USB-C port installed on my PC. I called the guys at Metro, who ordered one for me on Monday, and then installed it for me today. Their rates are usually reasonable & best of all you dont hear about any crazy bench time charges like so many other of these guys that do similat work. Give em a call & tell them what you need.

Had these guys replace keyboard. When I got it back all my automatics login-ids & Passwords were disabled. When I asked them about it they said there was nothing they did...So they autofilled before I gave it to them and i didnt after they gave it back. The desk to picture changed (not a big deal) but the said it did that all the time...has not done it since,

Really effective results, great to work with. These people know what they’re doing. When COVID hit, and I suddenly had to work from home, I was able to hit the ground running.

Got a quick callback and was able to bring my computer in the same day. Once a diagnosis was quickly made (on the spot), I was given quotes for different possible outcomes of repair. Computer was repaired promptly that same day. A broken hard drive was the culprit, and Gene was able to save all my data, get me a newer generation hard drive and reload it onto my computer. Id definitely go with him again for any future computer problems. Hes a guy that clearly has experience, in contrast to the 18 yr olds who sit behind the desk at a Best Buy. Go with the guy whose company has lasted. Hes clearly getting the job done.

Not responsive, rude on the phone. Gave me several time estimates that were wrong and didn’t call me with updates. Left me hanging for days when they said they would call me back and as a business professional it was holding up my work. I don’t usually write bad reviews but this is extremely unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude.

Weird intermittent boot up issue I could figure out via Dr Google, so I brought it to them. They quickly identified a false error and were able to correct. In and out in 20 minutes, totally affordable. While I hope I dont have to go back 🤣, I will if I have a PC problem.

My laptop screen was cracked and I got it fixed here. Comparison to another place where I got my cracked screen repaired a few years ago (same computer):* Last place: took my laptop for three weeks while the part got shipped to them, cost $250, didnt return phone calls* This place: got the part ordered and gave me back my laptop to use while waiting for it to get shipped. Im not being dramatic when I say that this business is a life saver. My computer started doing some wacky stuff and no one online knew how to fix it. I took it in, and it was fixed literally in two days for a reasonable price. Also the guy that owns the store is super chill and clearly genuinely enjoys solving problems and fixing computers.I 100% recommend going here before geek squad or other lame major corporations that will nickle and dime you for every damn thing. They go the extra mile, and fix anything and everything they may find wrong with your laptop, even if its not what you initially took it in for.

Metro Computerworks is a small two-person office, but these guys are great! Three months ago they transferred all data, apps, etc., from my old awful laptop to my new one; usually thats an easy thing to do but they found a very rare issue that could stump many technicians. No problem for them! My computer runs fast and sweetly ever since. Just now I discussed some technical malware prevention issues over the phone with them; although it was rather involved my questions were all answered clearly, and the call only took a few minutes. Gene and Wolfie are knowledgeable, competent, efficient and fast. No bull. Metro Computerworks WILL solve your computer problems.

I have been using Metro for years and I couldnt be happier. Gene takes care of both of my Macs. If I need something quickly theyre on it. They maintain, troubleshoot and are always available for questions. This shop is a rare find -- they seem to really enjoy exceeding my expectations! Over many years Ive never walked out of their place feeling dissatisfied or like Ive been had by techies.

Gene and co. were super responsive to my plea for help when I was in Portland for 48 hours. I had a major crisis when I dropped my computer while on business travel and needed to have my computer back up and running as soon as possible. They helped make a stressful situation a lot less so and helped prevent me from having to go out and buy another computer. I called on Metro Computerworks for help when my Windows 10 laptop wouldnt boot up after being powered off with the power switch. Marcus worked diligently to try to repair Windows, but ultimately had to re-install it. He did so without disturbing any of my documents or files. Then Gene assisted me with re-installing Microsoft Office from the setup file that was still intact from when I originally installed it. After I got home, I had trouble getting the dual monitor resolution settings correct, and Gene assisted me again - this time remotely. And Voila! - my PC is back in business! They were both great to work with, and got the job done very quickly.

Friendly service and honest advice. I brought my Macbook here after a bad liquid spill, and they took it apart and assessed the damage for free. While my laptop ended up being a lost cause, I really appreciated that they were honest with me in terms of advising me that buying a new laptop would likely be cheaper than the cost to try and repair the damage.

My computer was not holding a charge so I took it into Metro. They spent about 15 minutes looking at it and fixed the problem and didnt charge me a cent. I found them to be very professional and friendly and will definitely return with a real problem one day. Plus if you are a dog person you wont be sorry!

These guys have been great, and have pulled my wifes laptop back together three times from what seemed terminal (from a drink spill to a scammer lockout). They are very affordably priced, sympathetic (and let her know when she could order a piece herself to save costs), work quickly given the parameters of ordering parts, and quite helpful.

Went in for a Portland Computer Repair and Upgrade for my Early 2015 MacBook Pro Retina Display 13 laptop, that only had 128gb of SSD storage on it (which is absolutely nothing) and the team over were able to upgrade it to a 1tb, in the same day! and for a reasonable price! I will definitely use these guys again if I ever need some help with my laptop. Years ago after growing increasingly exasperated by so-called “computer tech experts” who were mostly learning their trade on my dime, I met Gene Gratton—also known as Metro Computerworks. Since then, Gene has been my go-to guy on any and all computer issues. Rather than like previous folks who solved problems like auto mechanics who keep trying new parts until the problem goes away, Gene almost always makes a beeline to the solution. Besides this keeping costs fair and reasonable, it also means that I’m back in business (freelance creative services) without a long, frustrating delay. It helps that Gene has taken the initiative to know my business and is sensitive to how timely service saves my bacon.In the past, Gene has retrieved critical files from a “melted-down-dead” hard drive that I had no expectation of getting back. He’s provided informed counsel on selecting computers and software, he’s set up networks (when I was ambitious and had employees)... and once he even advised me on selecting and installing a phone system. Most lately he killed a nasty virus that was creating havoc. Beyond all this, Gene Gratton is a heckuva nice guy who takes pride in his work... and is honest and fair with computer illiterates like me. What more could anyone possibly ask for?
