Marcos at the NW location is highly skilled and is my go-to for buzz cut/line-ups/fade. Always consistently on point. This company is very legit and professional, expect high quality service. Cuts run about $35 to start , drinks included.

After trying several different barbers around Portland I’ve finally found one that I would come back to. The interior is clean and spacious. The staff was masked up and made sure that the chairs were sanitized after each customer. Becca and Nathan gave me the cleanest fade that I’ve had in my life. They go above and beyond in customer care.

It was my first time and Alan Barnes cut my hair and gave me a beard trim/line up and killed it ill recommend them to everyone if they want to be treated like a king and get a killer style its all on point

Went in there for a simple clean up. Came out there with a super high and military style cut. (Like a generic cut, way too high trimming) I believed I explained myself well enough to get a clean trim, still keeping my hair shape. The barber must of been new or not that experienced. Which is okay, but they should of just let me know. There were some longer parts on my head that I needed to correct back at home. I just didn’t understand how you could not tell the difference of shades on your fade. Overall, he was a nice guy, but he needed to pay attention to what a customer wants. It was not worth $36 dollars. For this amount, barbers should know their craft a bit better. I originally went in there because the atmosphere looked great and appeared as an amazing shop, however the service was matching the appearance. I’d like to give this place another shot but not with the same barber. I believe in second chances.

Ive been coming to Throne for about 9 months and always really like the atmosphere and quality of people. Ive tried a number of the barbers here and all have been great. Tonight I had an EXCELLENT cut with Jacob. Jacob was very helpful in listening and helping me figuring out exactly what kind of cut I was going for, even factoring in ideas when I told him Im preparing for a Great Gatsby themed party and the haircut should fit into what a 1920s style would be.Thoroughly impressed with the quality of service and care, and very happy with my haircut.Highly recommend!

Though new to the industry, he has professional presentation, portfolio work available to view, winsome-engaging personality. Advanced, efficient, and talented skill set. As a particular, hard-to-please, patron from Newport Beach, Ca., Alan produced an A-list cut for me. I will return and recommend Alan and Throne.

They dont like the blacks at this shop at all. It could be due to the fact that none of the barbers are equipped to cut that style of hair but Ive seen them all slowly scatter when a black man walked in on more than one occasion. Plus some of the comments the Barbers made between one another about the man that came in were in my opionon horrific and disgusting and for this reason I will not be going back and I wish that they could cater to all...

After moving from Chicago my quest to find the best urban & edgiest barbershop in Portland ended at Throne! Brandon Dixon is the most talented barber Ive experienced to date and his cuts have brought me lots of compliments! He can create very cool designs or make simple look great. The place has a very cool vibe, serves cocktails, and I always see lots of happy faces there. Check it out for yourself and be wowed!

I have been coming to Throne for a few years, close to the time they opened. Now I travel from Vancouver to make my way into the pearl location. I have tried a majority of the bar it’s as I normally go in on a whim and have not been disappointed. The locations are clean, hire discerningly and offer excellent service from check in to check in. Best Barber shop in Portland. I have had at least 30 cuts here, and every time they’re 100% perfect. Everyone is nice and cool. Can’t recommend this place enough. Great prices for the quality.

Ive been coming here and getting my hair cut by Sang, one of the owners, for 4 years now. If hes completely booked (which is very common) Im comfortable going to any of his other barbers. Love these guys, theyre all awesome. The Pearl location is much closer to me but since Sang now cuts at his newest location on the East side, I make the trip out there. Totally worth it.

By far the best barbershop in Portland! I just moved to Portland and needed a new barber. I found Sang on my first visit to Throne and Im not letting him go! After discussing my needs for my cut, he got it right the first time. That rarely happens. Sang gave me a nice tight cut with the perfect fade. I do get compliments on my cut. Whats evident the first time you visit the shop is the positive vibe and first time customers are made to feel welcome. All the barbers take pride in their craft. You will see that in all the cuts leaving the shop. Some may find its a little more money to get your haircut here but the customer service and the quality cut is worth the price! I highly recommend Throne Traditional Barbershop!

Marcos took care of me. First time there and I really appreciated the level of service and a great quality cut. The facility was high end which fits in the pearl. But what I liked was that Marcos took his time and made sure my cut was exactly what I wanted. This is a place I’ll look for in the future thanks guys

I got a cut from Brandon yesterday and he was awesome! He took his time, gave me probably one of the best hair cuts Ive ever had and time went by fast because conversation was easy going.I would definitely recommend Throne as the atmosphere was great. They have drinks available, old school feel with great service. Ill definitely be coming back.

Went in for a clean shave and the guy didn’t do a clean shave left spots of beard. The receptionist was rude and said he couldn’t help when we went back 30 mins later. If possible avoids the place for your own good

Throne Barbershop in Portland, OR is incredible for its artistry of cut, customer service, punctuality, and price range. Jesus is super talented and is a hardworking barber because he has always been on time, has always provided an excellent haircut, conversation, and is very responsive to bookings. Not only is he patient, listens, and will make changes per request he is also hilarious and very easy to be around. I recommend Jesus as a regular barber if you can get in his books. This Barbershop is just great all around. You get what you pay for quality of product and service. Everyone is friendly and welcoming...A very diverse group of barbers as well.

Best haircuts Ive had.Easy online appointment scheduling. Free coffee/soda/beer/liquor of your choice. Haircuts are not rushed at all. Excellent attention to detail even on a simple hairstyle. Always finished with a straight edge neck shave! Lots of places will have the new hipster barber shop vibe but then deliver a mediocre trim. Thrones cuts are top notch.

I went in for a cut, it was my first time Ive let someone else cut my hair in 10 years (10 years in a hardhat, short is better and I can do that myself lol)! So a new direction in life needed a more professional look. Wow did these gentlemen deliver! From the moment you walk in your treated like a VIP. With the offering of a shot of whiskey, to the hot lather straight razor finish. It was an experience I wont be denying myself again! I look and feel great!

Ive been coming here close to 2 years consistently. I find Throne to be a very reasonably priced and professionally run barber shop that seems very well staffed and consistently busy. Its at a great location in the Pearl district easily accessible on foot, though there is also usually adequate parking if youre coming from further away. The atmosphere is perhaps male oriented by design, (hence the name Throne I imagine) yet I have seen ladies and children in the chairs from time to time. Patrons are offered a beverage upon arrival, a beer, shot of alcohol, soda or coffee are all available while you wait. I would recommend a reservation as they seem very busy most of the time. This is especially true if you want to see a specific barber. They have an online booking system that is fairly convenient or you can call in to book a time slot. I have to give a shout out to my man Jake Kost. I drew him randomly my first visit and kept booking with him ever since. A consummate professional, Jake is ALWAYS booked, so youll need to plan a week in advance to get in his chair. That being said, I always go back to him because HE IS WORTH IT. I see all the barbers providing top notch service, however, Jake has earned my confidence. He is efficient and skilled at his craft. He also is very clever and articulate and knows how to read a customer and make them feel at ease in his chair. He is attentive and always confirms what is important to the customer before he begins, and he is careful to check in during the process to validate the experience is going as expected. Jake gives the best fade I have had at any shop which is a big deal for shorter styles. I mention Jake by name so the management understands his value to customers, and as a recommendation to those who are perhaps coming in for the first time. Im picky, but I have never been disappointed here.

Been coming here since they first opened. I moved to Seattle six months ago and still get my haircuts when Im in Portland. Achindo and Jesus have been cutting my hair and do a fantastic job. Hard to switch over when these guys set the bar so high with their attention to detail and friendliness. Laid back atmosphere and easy to schedule online.

Im pretty picky about who I let touch my hair. Ive been to plenty of barbers all over the country. I dont normally rate/review.. But I gotta give credit where credit is due - Sperry gave me, literally, the best haircut I think Ive ever gotten. Hands down best fade. The mans got skills. And everyone else getting their hair cut was looking pretty sharp. Solid crew over there for sure. Dont think Ill be going anywhere else!

Run AWAY from this place.BEWARE! I am Very upset! Alan gave me addittude and didnt care about how I wanted to look. My hair cut was choppy, crooked, louzy, and a schlock of a job only worth $10, he did the cut in about 15 - 20min rushed without any notice to how bad it was done. Then charged me $36 Its unfortunate that in the last few months the prices went up and quality went down, also most of the barbers that was there before had jumped ship.Better off going to Sam Wolf Barbershop. At least they take their time to give a decent haircut! You will get your money worth & leave feeling great!

Its hard for me to find someone who can cut my hair a certain way and make it look great. These guys did just that. All the guys were friendly and gave me a perfect cut but didnt take long. Definitely will be coming back.

Took my baby brother to get a cut and shave for his 21st birthday. Everyone was super friendly and they did a wonderful job with the cut in general. Hes never gone to a place like this so it was a wonderful experience for him.

Achindo killed it. I booked an appointment the same day using their website from work and was sat within 5 of my appointment time. My hair and beard looked pretty ragged as I hadnt messed with either in quite some time. I usually end up going to Bishops as they take walk ins, but Throne is across the street from where I work and I figured Id finally try them. They did fantastic work. I really cant recommend them enough. Their prices are the same as Bishops, but everything else was far better at Throne. Thanks for kicking ass at your craft guys!

I gave instructions and picture samples of what I wanted. $32 with a $5 tip isnt worth it. The complimentary drink is a plus but major negative on the haircut.============I heard good things about this place. Went there for the first time and got my haircut. The day after, I scratched my head. It felt weird. I looked at the mirror and combed my hair. Noticing the ends of my hair are consistently crossing each other and seems to be uneven other when I comb it upwards. I could work with my current cut but it leaves me with side comb only. It looks like [doo-doo] when I try to back comb or slick back.I am not coming back. Waste of money. Yall should go to Rough Cuts Barbershop which are two barbers there would do a better job and $10 cheaper. (If you wonder, why I dont go there in the first place? I needed a cut then and now. My main barber wasnt working that day.)

This a good barbershop overall, but just make sure you are very detailed with your requests. My first haircut here was pretty good, but the second time in my hair was cut way shorter than what I requested. I asked for a two on the sides and ended up with a one. Also I guess a half inch off the top is more like an inch and a half to two inches... Just frustrating because a bad haircut is two weeks to a month until it grows back. I dont think Ill be giving this shop anymore of my business from here on out. The barber that cut my hair twice seems like a good guy so Im not going to bad mouth him, but If you are picky about your hair then I suggest going somewhere else.

This place is just branded super fancy the barbers are mediocre. Waited 30mins after making an appointment over a day in advance. My hairline was a little crooked and the taper didnt match the other side evenly. I had to touch it up myself when I got home. Dude took over an hour for a simple taper. It was $40 not including the tip which is laughable. Never going here again. Big waste of time and money. Tonsorium Studio in beaverton does an extremely better job and is almost half the cost.

These guys are a cut above the ol’ “beer and a haircut” routine. I’ve had two guys do my hair there and both times have been impeccably perfect. The staff is cream of the crop, and the atmosphere is not overdone. Most times I say “I get it, you’re a mancave” but here, the classiness and respect and atmosphere goes down like a 25 year old Balvanie. You want something SPECIAL and memorable about your haircut, this is the place. Worth the money, no joke.

Found Throne through Instagram while searching through the profiles of other local barber shops. I saw some of Sangs work from the barber shop he used to work at and immediately knew I needed to pay him a visit. So I booked my appointment online (super convenient and easy) for the following day.Rolled up to the shop on a Saturday afternoon (street parking in the Pearl is hit or miss so plan accordingly) and was immediately greeted and offered a beverage. After choosing an ice cold Deschutes Red Chair NWPA from their impressive selection of carbonated beverages, beers, and liquor, I was told that Sang would be with me shortly. For a Saturday on Valentines Day the shop wasnt super busy, but it looked like everyone was enjoying the fact that they were there. I wandered around the waiting area, examining the classy decorations and huge cabinet full of hair product until Sang came up and introduced himself.He sat me down in one of their awesomely comfortable, custom-refurbished, early 20th century barber chairs and asked if he had cut my hair before. I told him that this was my first time, and he asked what I wanted. He was extremely thorough in his questions to make sure every aspect of my hair cut would satisfy me.Sang went over the importance of choosing a haircut that was tailored to my lifestyle and the types of products I liked to use in my hair throughout the haircut. He finished it off with a straight-razor cleanup of my neckline. I asked which product he recommended for my haircut since I currently didnt have anything that impressed me. He asked what I was looking for in terms of hold, weight, and shine and recommended an Uppercut Matte Clay, showed me how to use it (quantity and technique) and told me that if I wasnt satisfied with it to bring it back and he would find me something else.tl;dr GO THERE AND TRY IT. Clean and classy shop, great haircut.
