I got my hair done at Sam Wolf for a year and a half or so, and strictly saw Alaina. She is phenomenal and a wildly talented barber. Her attention to detail and the communication between barber and client is unmatched. You truly feel that you are being taken care of. She is no longer at Sam Wolf, but has her own co-owned shop in NW called Gold+Grit Barber Co. I truly can not recommend her enough.

I love these guys! I’ve been going here for about a year, (which is like, 3 haircuts) and every single time, Regardless of who cuts my hair, (I usually book next available online, also, shout out to Mike, you did great!) they’ve always done an amazing job. Even more so, they’re very patient with me as I try and explain what I’m looking for (as I’m at explaining things correctly). I love the hospitality too, like being offered a beverage, and just having cool, casual conversations, super friendly. Anyway, keep up the good work everyone! (If any of you read this)

Fantastic barber. Matt did exactly what i wanted no questions asked and he assured me that when i want a shave i can get one if they are doing them. He really knows his job and has recomended to me that he likes and does short hair cuts. When he gets in more products i will ask for his recomendation.bvery very good barbet and friendly as all native oregonians. Exceptionally clean place .the best hair cut i have ever had. These guys do a phenomenal job taking care of customers. Finding a reliable barbershop isnt easy, so Im thankful to have found a spot I love. Ive never had such great haircuts. Every time I when I walk in, Im greeted and offered something to drink (water, coffee, beer, whiskey). Matt remembers my preferences so I dont have to re-explain it every time. I live in SW Portland, and its definitely worth the trip downtown every 4-6 weeks. Book an appointment - you wont regret it.

This barbershop is absolutely incredible! I was not aware of it being present until yhis past Tuesday when I was downtown/uptown. This shop is pushing its one year anniversary and I can see why. When you walk in it feel like a modern-day barbershop in the 60s or something. I guess you can say thats due to the old school interior desing wiyh a mix of very modern shapes as well as the conjoined building which is the Crystal Ballroom being over 100 years old. Make this place feel very special to the eyes of anyone into architecture. They are really pushing the envelope on quality and a standard to provide a wonderful and luxurious experience.
