I went in a couple of weeks ago to get a haircut. Chris gave me a haircut and it was a fantastic experience. One thing that was refreshing was his ability to hold a conversation while giving me a great clean cut. Not once did he pull out his cellphone during my appointment which is unique in this day and age. The cut took about an hour so make sure you have time, but it looked great! Id rather have someone take the time to do a great cut than to rush through it to get to the next person. Chris was very personable and professional.I was able to call a couple days before and get a slot on the weekend. I will 100% be returning to this location. The prices are EXTREMELY good. Especially for the quality of cut that I received. Ive spent $20-$30 more at other barbershops and those cuts paled in comparison. Highly recommend.

The only place I go to get my hair cut. Tony recently cut my hair for me before my wedding. I only trust them for looking good enough for my wedding day. Tony took more than an hour just touching up my haircut from two weeks earlier. He did such a nice job — my hair was exactly how I wanted it. Believe it or not, they treat every haircut with that much attention to detail, like every haircut is for your wedding.

Ive been coming here for years, and so I feel like I owe this place a bit more of a description. Barts is a mens barbershop, though Ive seen a few women there as well. As such, it has a really interesting feel. Youll encounter a cross-section of guys that you wouldnt see in any other part of your life, and it makes for some pretty great conversation.It can be hard to get an appointment with them, and for pretty good reason. They give pretty great haircuts, and the prices are super reasonable for the skill. All of the barbers Ive used are pretty good at working with the style youre choosing, and pretty good and helping you get there too, if youre not entirely sure yourself.All in all, my visits over the years have been consistently good to great. The folks who work there are friendly, and I cant recommend it enough.

LOVE Barts. Been getting my hair cut at the Morrison location about every 6 weeks for 3 years now. ALWAYS get a good hair cut, regardless of who does it. Affordable cut, entertaining and funny inclusive banter between customers and staff. Its a refreshing and welcoming barbershop experience that I look forward to. No exclusive vibes. It can be hard to get a walk in cut in a timely manner on weekends because its really popular, thats what happens when you give good cuts. I call in the AM and ask what times they have available. Always receive high quality haircuts from this place. Been going for years. The barbers are interesting and usually they have some form of entertainment going while you are there which really enhances the experience.

This is the best barber I have ever been too. All these guys are great. There is no need to wait for anyone in particular. Bart has high standards and these guys deliver. It is a small place and very popular. So be flexible about your time to get in and expect it to take at least an hour. Roughly 20 bucks.

One if the best barbershops in town. Not only do you get a fabulous cut, shave and a little massage. Theres stand up on the TV which made me literally LoL

Drew cut my hair. It was great. Like everyone else said, they take their time and do good work. The banter was casual and enjoyable. At twenty bucks, this place is a great deal. I would probably pay more and the guys deserve more. Lots of demand for great work at a low price, so dont expect a short wait.

Could not be happier that I found Barts. Have tried barbers and salons at every price point all over the country, and this is hands down the best haircut i have ever gotten. Possibly even better is the environment. Great people, good laughs, and the price is right! Will be a customer for life!

Ive been coming here for five years.. Ever since that huge snowstorm that winter. Came in because it was hard to get around and have never gone anywhere else since. I usually have Bart cut my hair but have had others as well and always a great job. The place is always busy as well another sign of perfection!Old school straight edge on the neck is awesome. Going to have to get a full shave on of these days!

Friendly, busy place- $30 haircuts. Ideal demographic: urban 24-35 year olds with great hair and a lot of time. I came back in 20 minutes as per agreed and the stylist who said he would fit me in was nowhere to be seen. Plus now there were two new guys waiting. After waiting 10 minutes I left. The two other clients getting cuts were the same ones that had been there a half hour before- lots of attention to detail- and the cuts looked good.

Im a fan. I have had my haircut by just about everyone that works at Barts now and each time I have been happy. They take their time with each person making sure the job is done right which seems to keep the haircut holding up longer than I am used to. The only downside to this is that it can generate a bit of a wait so you want to plan some time into this. Well worth it!

Well that was quick...My barber shop moved farther away from me and raised my prices so I thought Id try somewhere closer to my house. I called yesterday and asked about a cut today. First thing open on the board is 1 pm.. Sounds great.12:50 I show up. 1 guy cutting, 2 guys waiting. Did you call in? I tell him I did but he doesnt ask my name. Maybe he knows since its almost 1, Im the 1:00 guy.1:20 he finishes the guy in the chair. Then he calls up one of the guys sitting on the couch. I stand up and walk out the door, nobody says a word. (Theres still another guy on the couch who might be before me.)An hour later Im back home with nothing to show for it but a takeout sandwich from across the street and a need to find a barber ASAP.Dear all Portland businesses, please be professional or just close to thin the herd.Dear all Portland patrons, please expect more from businesses.

Needed a new place to get my hair cut since moving to town. Saw the great reviews that Bart had received, so I gave him a try. My wife highly praised and approved of the results, and Bart and/or Drew have been my go-to guys ever since. Great old-school barber shop with some new-school amenities (namely a Mac Mini pumping out indie rock or Netflix).

Took a lunch break for a 12:45 appointment. Get there and barbers says hes running a bit late. I asked how long and he said, 10 or so minutes. I asked him to clarify how late because I was on my lunch break and he said take your chance if you want.Not very professional

This is a great barbershop. Every barber here is well versed in their craft. They fill up pretty much every day, so you need to call ahead and reserve a time with your name and let them know when you come in. If youre too stupid to do that then I guess go to Supercuts. Its a barbershop, so I dont even want to see girls in there, sorry, were men and we want to hang out and be men, not go to a salon

Great place, never been dis-satisfied. They do get busy, call ahead they will put you on the waiting list and tell you about how long the wait should be. The whole staff is really nice. Great service.

Came in, given appt., came back, got simple 2 X 3, was $10 less than full hc, looks great, will return in 6 weeks. Old school shop w/ new blood.

They really do pay close attention to detail here. Ive have never found even a single missed hair. Im amazed that they charge as little as they do. Definitely the best haircut Ive had, and I will continue going back.

I just paid $30 to recieve probably one of the worst haircuts of my life. As a first time customer there should have been feedback as the cut was progressing, but they just went for it. Theres a 1 and half inch difference in sideburn height, and the fade goes up to the crown of my head with a small patch of uneven hairs in the front. I look like an idiot, and am now contemplating buzzing my head. I dont know my barbers name, just that he had long hair. Do not recommend.

I got my hair cut by Josh. His attention to detail was exquisite, and I could tell that he really cared about making my hair look as good as possible. I also appreciated the unique environment and music selection.

I thought this would be a sure bet to get a decent cut. The guy cutting my hair was nice enough, but he did a hack job. Sides and top were uneven. I thought it looked fine in the chair, but by the time I got back to the office, I realized how uneven it was. The guy also had alcohol on his breath, which I cant help but think contributed - could be he cuts better after a shot - who knows? Point is - my search for a decent barber continues.To the Barts crew - Its a crying shame that my hair was so bad for how much people love you. You lost a customer, but that shouldnt be a problem for you, as busy as you are.

First off, Im a woman. Bart and Drew have both done a phenomenal job on my hair. I went there on my husbands advice when I was going from shoulder-length hair to a 1920s bob. Bart cut it exactly how I wanted it and Drew has maintained it beautifully. I am growing my hair out because I dont want my new daughter to pull on it when she starts grabbing for things but Ill go there just to get my bangs trimmed. I dont trust anyone else!Also, my husband keeps a hairstyle from the 30s that absolutely no one Bart has been able to do (and weve looked in two different states, since then, due to moving around.)Yes, it will take some time, but youre going to be in your hair forever - why not take the time to get it done properly?Check out the cool retro chair while youre there.

The best place to get a cut. Bart is a super cool dude. The old school barbershop is the real deal unlike the wannabe-BIshops BS which is a bunch of BS! Bring your iPod to listen to your own tunes in the retro egg chair and have a quality beer and relax. Cheaper than Bishops TOO!!

So the only reason they get a 2 is they were very nice and polite when not distracted. Unfortunately the shop was in shambles dirty and cluttered, which should have tipped me off. I thought the cut was ok to mediocre when I left the shop...e.g. I wouldnt go back but wasnt pissed ...then I got home and took a closer look and it was uneven ,patchy , didnt trim around my ears, horrible fade all around it looked like it was cut by a 10 year old. Im going to a different shop to get it fixed right now.

I would give it a zero but thats not a choice....just for the fact I didnt even get my haircut . On the website it says walk-ins and when I went in the guy told me I had to call the day of . I told him the website says walk-ins . He just looked at me . I live in Vancouver and wanted to try something new That was new .
