I just went to a very special program there. It is an intimate space that holds a lot of people comfortably. The acoustics are quite good. Though I have never been to U of Portland before, we were treated with warmth and enthusiasm.

Clean, good seating auditorium, although it seems to have been designed more as a student lecture hall. It is, after all, located on the University of Portland campus. So dont read this review as an assessment of the acoustics or lighting, etc.

Ok so I love UP and I loved being part of the music program. And I also loved and feel all kinds of nostalgia over every class I had in BC. But the auditorium is really disappointing. I do like the cosmetic changes they made to it a few years ago and its honestly fine for when speakers are giving presentations. But when it comes to concerts, BC Aud leaves a lot to be desired. UPs music groups barely fit on stage and despite their best efforts, the acoustics really dampen the beautiful music theyre creating. Nobody really gets to hear how good they are because the auditorium ruins the sound. The University of Portland really needs to build a new auditorium with a bigger stage and better accoustics. If there are any donors out there, please consider funding a new auditorium - especially one with soundproof practice studios to make up for the ones in Mago Hunt.
