I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Disjecta. The works there were displayed in ways that made the accessible emotionally and intellectually.I also appreciated the the flexibility of the physical space. Its able to accommodate a lecture presentation, a curator led tour or the pleasure of individual exploration. The fact that its so conveniently located across the street from the Max is a big plus.Find out whats currently showing. Regardless of what is featured, go anyway. If youre interested in contemporary art, you are in for a genuine treat.

Aberdeen was a wonderful and amazing experience!!! My only critical statement would be that when something truly special like That is happening, it is Extremely Rude and disrespectful for your Staff or Whoever was making all of the noise in the other room was really distracting and totally unacceptable.Nice Venue though.

Disjecta is great, make sure to check out Carnation if youre there. Its a small gallery with some great shows.

My favorite space to see art in Portland: big enough for large-scale installations and big paintings, but still human-sized, not overwhelming. The curators have good ideas, and the art they show is often surprising, deeply considered, varied. Disjecta is a nonprofit gallery, so marketplace economics dont factor in to the exhibition schedule. And Kenton is a great, old-school Portland neighborhood.

Very nice space! The acoustics are very good being that there is a smooth cement floor. Nice for collaborative artists and musicians.

This is a great incarnation in the evolution that is Disjecta. Over the last 20 or so years I have been in the audience when a venue, in the crowd when a gallery, and meandering the halls when a mashup of gallery, performance, work, community. Think art, not as object but as connection.

Ive been to Disjecta twice, once for a pottery show and once for a music festival. Its a great space for visual art. Its not built for impressive sounds, but it does get the job done. I could see many DIY shows happening here.

Most contemporary art (and art in general) is meaningless as it seeks its inspiration, and applies its message, from and to the limited material world rather than through seeking knowledge of the infinite and incorporeal

Mediocre artwork paired with overreaching wall texts - if you ever wanted the full Portland experience of artists who could never make it elsewhere gunning for the participation trophy while operating in a “safe space” wholly unrelated to the art world at large, then have I got a gallery for you
