I visited this place to retrieve a replacement EBT card. While I was unable to complete that business today, I was able to begin the process and move it along. Had a good experience at Union County Social Services even though they arent officially open to the public.

I was treated like a human being in this office and I pray everyone who must visit will be treated the same. I pray everyone who holds a title and position will remember they are only a paycheck away from being in someone else’s shoes and should handle each case like such. Thank you for your essential position and still handling it with care according to guidelines set.

Its a great place for your personal information

Customer service is horrible. Place is a complete joke

Every time I call if they answer the phone at all they transfer me to someone with a full mailbox when I go in they act like I am bothering them to do their job

I just made a call to the snap benefits program to see if I could get my policy number from them and the associate that answered the phone was so rude. I understand if you don’t have the information that I need and that your hard at work but customer service and helping the people who call is also apart of your job

I called this office in plainfield asked them why my food stamps are canceled and a rude woman told me what i had to do with a rude attitude then i told her i was hungry when do i get them back ignored me i said why do you beat us around the bush and hung up on me i called back she said out loud so everyone in the office would hear that i cursed at her and said jesus f christ when i called back for a superviser no one picked up no message could be sent wish i could work with elizabeth they Plainfield doesnt care if you die of starvation

They have been some wat professionals n helped where they said they could but went to another office n got better service n more help not so much run around union county never answers there phone been trying to call for the last 2 week n nothing

No one knows what they are doing here. It seems as though staff was thrown out there cold turkey, having been taught nothing. They were supposed to transfer my case to another county a year ago which took 7 phone calls and ultimately having been made to go in to sign papers. Fast forward 1 year and I find out a day before I lose my insurance that they never even transferred me. I have a bad infection in my shoulder that can turn septic if no surgery is done and thanks to Union County Social Services, I no longer have insurance with having a days notice. Something needs to be done. No one is happy with them and they are incompetent and the boss who trains these people should be fired .

Listen all I can say is the reviews u all write here does not mean a thing! if u want results make sure u the person or person name u spoke too. go to the nj website for social services and write let them know be detailed. they will read your reviews if we all do this it will change. it u feel disrespected let the worker know, be nice do not yell or say anything nasty just take a deep breathe. asking for there supervisor is even worse you have to wait and may be told they are in a sudden meeting. just go home or to a library and complain on the website. please do this trust me I know how they are!

The worst place ever, most of the secretary’s and window social workers act like they don’t get paid to do their work , they treat you like 💩 all they do is be on their phone and sit people down until they finish messing. This people should be taken out from this positions and put people that really wants to work.

Very disrespectful, miscommunication, dont help at all........... Everybody walks around with coffee in there hand doing nothing but talking about there own lives. .................. They need to change every last one of the people in there and put people who cares about other people problems to help solve everything....

They are usually on time with paper work and all but this month they messed up paper work for my family and now we have no food for the month. I have no issues with the workers and they usually work fast.

Omg I am sorry but whoever is in charge of this place they need to teach these staff customer service. I have been through a few government buildings but this one has been the worst. the staff is so unprofessional, not polite, rude and disrespectful. they do not deserve no stars for way they treat people.

Super disrespectful i called today about my daughters insurance and they kept being rude about it and didnt let me finish my sentences trying to explain to her that i need it if it were for me i would give it 0 stars how how rude and disrespectful they are

I work here & am an assistant Supervisor (Specialist). I try to help as many people as I can but if you/they are rude or uncooperative then you wont get anywhere.There are some people who dont care to assist or care about others but you cant generalize that none of us do. My opinion...

Worst services rude, selfish, unprofessional I dont understand how they could hire this people .. they help who they want and the people that really need it are not helped.

These people treat us the worst. They have no education to deal with. Or it will be the training they give them but God bless them is the only thing I can say for people without education.

They are racist people, I was breastfeeding my baby and I was covered and a lady approached to tell me to go somewhere else, they are very rude
