It was 2000, I was pregnant and had 3 other children from my estranged marriage. They accepted me into the program at Sojourner House, and showed how to live. A warm loving strict program. My life was changed. I am clean and sober, blessed and forgiven. Thank you, Susan Jageman

This place has saved my life and the lives of my children. I strongly suggest this place to women who are in need of inpatient treatment who have children. Not only do they help us to recover they help our children also. This is the best place Ive ever been and I highly recommend it!!!!

This place i thought was going to be a place to rebuild with my children the councilors there are not fit for the position i was degraded on many occasions and my treatment was not treatment every session was based off a what a community member had to say they thrive off a broken community i thought in recovery it was sisters building sisters up they use the peers against eachother inorder to break us apart a tare eachother down its really very sad that place is nothing like i was told but then again i its ran by a whole new team also staff sneaking around with clients doing clients favors as long as they dont tell what happen to a honest program then they want to forcefully make admit to behavior u didi not do and to me thats not acceptable oh might i add they have their certain ones they just single out n wont let up till u are gone whether it by choice or not id highly rethink this place n if u decide to go you will regret it unless you become one of their puppets till you leave i on the other hand chose a different route and that was to stand up for the truth what i believe i dont bow down that easy

May 13th 2011 I went in to start my recovery w my son damion. We didnt have to pay rent insurance covered it, but when there was a blip in my insurance they were ready to send me to this crazy place where they didnt even have air conditioning w my 1 year old son. I was court ordered 90 days I was being pressured to stay the 6 months. I still left at my 90 day mark. They tried telling me Id be arrested 🤨. While I was in there a few things happened w my son he got ahold of a paperclip and choked although he was fine thanks to a prepared staff member I was still looked at as a unfit parent. Even my cys case worker was aware that accidents happened. But the staff still tried to tell my cys caseworker that I was a unfit parent. My son got merca while I was there. Probably from the daycare center there. But again the whole building was made aware that it was my fault. The only person I had any respect for was miss becky. She kept it real and understood where our heads were at when we couldnt get it together. Even took the time to walk me around outside late one night when I was having a panic attack. Ive been sober ever since regardless of what the staff said to me before I left. Im now 30 married a proud owner of a house and have custody of my kids back and damion is now 9 years old. He had turned one just a week after I went to this rehab. Im giving it 5 stars bc of miss becky miss Karen A miss KAREN G and miss Dolores. If it wasnt for them I dunno what I would have done w myself.

Blind Leading the BlindThis USED to be PGHs best family treatment facility. However its a 100% new treatment team without even one member in recovery themselves. What once was a safe place where women with kids could start to heal & build a foundation for recovery- Now only focuses on paperwork & program fees(yes clients pay rent). For 23 years it was run by women in recovery. Therapists with more than 28years in recovery once walked the halls of SoHo- ready to feed your spirit with experience, strength& hope. Today that incomparable wisdom is belittled by therapists who have yet to fully buy into the process. Who couldnt tell you what our primary purpose is. Therapists who have absolutely Zero experience in the field, yet find themselves fit for this battle. Ignorance that will unfortunately cost women their lives. What this facility once was, is in its past. History that will remain in the hearts of 1000s of alumni. To the OGs of SoHo; You are painfully missed but Never Forgotten!

ALL they care about is MONEY if you cant pay youre program fee they will find a reason to kick you out on the streets . by the way they dont allow you to have a job they make you get on welfare or get child suport and they take more than half of what you get. We didnt understand were all the money from grants goes cause it doesnt go to us for the 1st week i was there all i ate was rice and canned peaches i had to wait for my foodstamp card to arrive and they couldnt help me or my child out ...
