DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Lawnstarter will destroy your lawn and take no accountability for their actions. After they canceled my first appointment and I left a review on another platform, they contacted me and scheduled service provider. The mowing was below average first 3 times but on the fourth they destroyed my lawn as youll see on the pictures. I contacted their support and provided all details requested. They reached out to the service provider and all he said that their was and incline which caused the tire marks and neighbor lawn had same problem. The providers reply is writing on stone for this company, even if they are blatantly lying. The neighbors lawn is fine on the same incline, documented very well in my pictures. I learnt my lesson the hard way with this company but hope no one falls for their marketing gimmicks.

They showed up the first time didnt finish the job. Gave them the benefit of the doubt contacted them asking if they were coming back. They came back didnt cut all the grass missed many spots and didnt edge or weed whack at all. Came back again (because you cant cancel after one cut per their policy) they did a similar poor job but also upcharged me for the spots that they didnt cut the first time. Ridiculous.Then they send an email after we officially cancel our service saying they undercharged us and are now charging my card more. Best bet thats being disputed.I could have paid a 16 year old half the price and they would have done way better. One star cause they showed up I guess.

This company did a great job with drip marketing and sales. I needed lawn care. The sales team called, texted, and emailed. I signed up for the service.. However they never delivered. The 1st and most critical engagement was canceled and then pushed back for over a month. Then after I had let my lawn grow to the point where it needed work work they canceled again. The idea is great. The Uber of lawn care. But unless you can deliver on the promise of lawn care and yard work on a timely basis your system will never work.

SCAM! They will charge you for services you didnt receive then argue with you that you accepted them. Though they will have no pictures, they can give no proof other than that they just kept charging you, charged me four times four different amounts, four different services. But yet no one was here, they cant say who was here? Who fixed what nothing they have no pictures they have no evidence of anyone being here but theyre going to keep charging your card.

The person they had scheduled to mow my lawn rescheduled twice, never showed a time and then rescheduled again. My lawn looked awful and overgrown because they are unable to keep a timetable. DO NOT use this company. Youre better off hiring goats.

Very inconsistent and unreliable service. Over a week late several times, and were slow to get back to me about it. Plus overpriced. Id recommend just finding a local company for yourself and cutting out the middle man.

What an awful experience! Needed them in a pinch due to an injury I sustained. They gave me a 2 day window. On the 2nd day when no one showed up I reached out, at which point they told me I had cancelled my account. I did not cancel anything.I ended up reaggrevating my injury since I had to cut my own grass.. Thanks for nothing lawnstarter. Awful.

They do a great job at mowing the lawn. However, I tried to get them to trim my bushes and got nothing but the runaround. They scheduled me twice. The first time they showed but the landscaper didn’t have the order. The next time they canceled at the last minute. You can only contact them by email and they did not have the decency to answer me. Wry disappointing.

Couldnt get anyone to show up for an appointment consistently so it was sometimes 3-4 weeks between mows. When I finally got fed up and cancelled, getting a refund for work that never happened was a pain. Skip this mess and call someone local

LawnStarter called me on a Saturday and committed to do lawn service on Monday or Tuesday at my home in Pennsylvania. While the LawnStarter service tech was on the phone, he confirmed that they had service providers that could do the work on Monday or Tuesday, so i quit looking for another solution. On Monday, I received an email notifying me that they could not complete the work and cancelled service with me. I called the service line, and didnt hear back until 2 days later. This was for lawn service at my aging parents house - and i quit looking for another service because i had no idea that there was not a chance they wouldnt show up Monday or Tuesday. The service rep that called me back had the nerve to say at the end that if i was interested in another location, to be sure to contact them again. This was totally unprofessional - i would never use this company again and I recommend that you dont use it either!

I wish I could give a review of their performance. They made an appointment to care for our lawn but have never shown up and never called. Very disappointed.

These guys are ripoffs, apparently looking to just get credit card numbers. I signed up for their mowing service. The first mow was scheduled for Friday or Monday. No one showed up. Tried emailing the person that was supposed to do the mow several times (he had emailed me earlier) and no response. Tried to call the company - was waiting for customer service to answer for 30 minutes, then left name and phone number to return my call - zero response. AVOID!

I hired this company to mow my lawn. Was given an email message through the app that someone would be here by 5/13. It is 9pm on Thursday 5/13/2021 and nothing. I have called and emailed the crew and the Lawn Starter support to no avail.Stay far away from them call around and get someone else.. 3 cuts minimum is a bunch of fulery as they dont show anyway.

They were faithful and did a fairly good job. However, anytime I have had to make changes, or ask for quotes on another kind of work or inform of some mishap it has been a nightmare. Communications and organization need to be seriously improved so customers feel supported

I used their services last year, and for this year I unsubscribed, deactivated my account and canceled everything on my end. However they are continuing to charge my card and marking it as if they provided services, which obviously they havent. I have been trying to reach them for days now, no one answers calls or emails.

Ive had nothing but amazing experiences with LawnStarter! The crew they sent out is so incredibly honest! Just a week or so ago, when it came time for them to mow our lawn, they determined the grass hadnt grown hardly at all, and decided to skip the day and ensure we kept our money! They were absolutely right! Id forgotten to ask them to skip - so it was amazing to see such honesty and transparency when they could have easily gone ahead and tried to claim theyd done the job! Each time our lawn is mowed, its absolutely immaculate! Im SO glad we went with this service! Theyre so incredibly timely and professional, and I never have to worry about a thing!

Everything about LawnStarter is top notch; the alerts when the pro is on their way, when theyre finished, appt reminders, quality of work, and all at very reasonable prices. They even have an app to make it as easy as possible for the customer. My only regret is that I didnt find them sooner.

I talk to the staff and he told me that I have to pay first for 3 mowing and the only they provide quotes fir rest of the lawn care service. Very wired policy and service

The lawn crew is always on time and professional. Fast, efficient and reliable and they don’t leave a mess. I am happy with the service because I have an excellent crew.I see that people complain about not getting anyone to come out. The original ‘crew’ that was supposed to come to my house dropped the ball. This upset me because I was on the fence about using the service in the first place. I did not want to be locked into 3 mows. When the first assigned crew never showed up it was playing into my original worry that the app was a scam. But then ‘John’ and his crew picked up the job. He explained how the site works and I asked him, because he was helpful and professional, to keep my house on his list. I downloaded the app. so I could text John. He responds in a timely manner and sends notifications letting me know what days the crew will be there. So if you get a good crew, as in anything communication, is key. Try and keep that crew. I think some people are just getting a crew that is not reliable. So, if by chance you get John Parshall’s crew, talk to him and see if you can stay on his route. Don’t forget to tip who ever you get for their work.

Booked to have repeat lawn mowing done for the season, but they cancelled permanently the day before I was expecting them due to lack of providers. Just doesn’t have the staff in Pittsburgh to do any work, sadly.

There are too many details to have to explain. Basically, the crews can decide not to work. Also, one person showed up with a weedwacker and then told me my grass was too thick to cut and hacked my lawn. No one came out to look at it or check the damage. I filed a report, but they refused it and said Id have to file it again. My next crew was pretty good, but now my biweekly service keeps saying it is skipped which would only have me getting cut once a month. This is a 3 lot property. So, the employees are not really checked on except by word of mouth as far as I can tell. You may be better off hiring a company instead of relying on this service to find one for you. Also, you cannot speak to a manager at all. Im really unsure how this operation is run.

Brandon and his team provide great customer service. They take the time to listen to my mothers needs/concerns and they address them. They provide an excellent service week-in; week-out for a more than fair price

They are just a middle man. They have a three cut minimum, which is bs because they have a one time service option on their website, but fine I agreed because the price was reasonable. I said i needed the service ASAP and was told someone would be out within 3 days. A crew picked up the job, then dropped it. New crew picked it up and rescheduled for a week later. If you say someone will be out in 3 days, send someone out in 3 days. Called and was told earliest would be another Skip this and find a local serivce or teen to do it.

I was getting a ton of emails and calls from lawn starter. I thought what the heck I’ll give it a try. Made appointment for a week from the day. First they changed the days they would cut without telling me, then they never showed up. I then get an email saying they can’t get to my yard till the next week and that it will be 30 dollars more per visit. Now my grass is over 6 inches and would cost almost double for them to do. It’s a racket through and through. Very disappointed and embarrassed because I waited on them and now my yard looks unkept until I have a day off this weekend.

Navarro landscaping did a great job mowing the lawn and leaving it looking well kept.

My experience with Lawn Starter has been great from the moment I contacted them to inquire about their services. Very professional and responsive. It was very easy to set up the initial appointment and it’s even easier to modify existing services and receive quotes by using their app. The landscaper that attends to my yard, Tony, is very responsive to all of my questions via the app and he does a great job with my lawn. I’m very happy with them so far and look forward to continuing using them.

I don’t know what is going with the crews they hire to mow lawns. But I could not consistently receive a weekly lawn mow. I was cancelled and rescheduled for 7 weeks in a row. I was trying to be patient with then because I would call and they would say someone was coming this day or that day. But it never happened. They don’t notify you either when they are not showing up, I would just check the app and the date of my lawn mow would be the next week. Once or twice, would be ok, not seven times. They did offer me a free mow but what good does that do when no one is showing up to mow the lawn? Would not recommend based on my experience.

Crews cancelled on me twice. Took two weeks and two reschedules and still, no one came to cut my yard. Very dissatisfied and disappointed at the lack of responsiveness from the crew and LawnStarters lack of urgency to assign someone capable of doing the job. Seems like they use individuals with a mower and string trimmer working out of their home garages. Even though they may be, it seems like they are not using licensed professionals. Would NEVER recommend this service.

Please do not use this company. First off, you need to give them your credit card before they come out. We were in immediate need of our grass cut and told someone would be out Tuesday or Wednesday and no need to be home, they cut your grass and leave and charge your card. We were desperate, so obviously we did not see an issue with this at the time. Well.... They never showed and never reached out. We called Thursday and were told it would cost more and thats why the guy didnt cut it. Still in desperate need we told them that was fine and then we were told he would be out Monday or Tuesday. Again, never showed up. This went on for two weeks!!!!! My husband called and told them we were not going to use them because obviously after two weeks why would we? He said to remove our credit card. The customer service lady actually fought with him over this saying she would have someone come out the next day and would discount us $10. My husband said absolutely not! They are very unprofessional and either do not show or try to add on charges, which they can do since they hold your credit card info. Please be cautious of this company. You are better off going to Facebook marketplace to find someone, like we did, who came out next day, did an amazing job and did not hold onto our credit card info!!

Wow! This company does excellent, no-fuss work. Their mowing, edging, trimming, and yard upkeep services are professional, efficient and perfect. Our yard, lawn, and shrubbery look fabulous since Brandon from Lawn Starter began taking care of our yard. The prices are very, very reasonable for such professional and extraordinary reliable work. What a great find!

Grass cutting is great but I wouldnt get any of their other services I paid to have my grass seeded the guy lied and said he came and seeded my grass. sir I have cameras. no one came and I still havent got my money back or my grass seeded............ if this was for the lawn cut it would be 5 stars

Pretty abysmal. Been assigned multiple crews this year that attempted to charge for services never performed or just flat out ignored requests. Probably just going to buy a mower and rather than continue servicesEdit: As you can see below, it took 4 months for them to even respond to the review

Sometimes they come and sometimes they dont when you contact customer service you have go through app. Noone to call or talk to takes 24 hours for them to get back to you. You have to sign up for at least 3 mowing so it locks you in and therefore your scared to hire someone else because they might show up on the same day. My appointment changed three times my grass is tall as hell and noone has came yet they pushed me off till next which by than it will be 10 days after they said they would be here.

I actually had an easy and great experience with this company. Our lawn mower broke and had an estimate of a three week repair. It took less than five minutes to set up my account, and within two days, my lawn was mowed. With my work schedule, I normally would t have the time to meet with a lawn crew, but this service took the work out of it by allowing me to send the crew detailed messages about the rundown of my yard, and it alerted me when my yard had been completed. My yard also looked pretty fantastic. So I am pretty happy.

The first few people I tried were not very reliable, but then LawnStarter set me up with Brandon. Brandon has been professional and his service is excellent. I highly recommend him as a lawn care expert.

The company really takes a hands off approach with their service providers.I can only assume all of the service providers are independent contractors because there is a lack of accountability for holding to scheduled times and expecting communication responses. My service provider has been unresponsive via the app and calling the customer service department to have them get status updates has been fruitless.Would be great to have the same crew more than once ... but it’s a random crew every time.

I needed someone to whack my weeds. Not a big surface or something, but I needed it done in the very next days. I kept asking this as a separate thing along with cutting the grass. Nobody said ANYTHING to me that they cant do it. I sent multiple messages saying that I needed weed whacking to the person who cut my grass and to the person who contacted me via text initially after I signed up. Nobody said a thing that they cant do it. I even requested it via app as a quote. No answer. No reply, no quote. So unprofessional. Should I known that they cant do it Id still search for someone who could, given that I have a deadline from the municipality to cut the weeds. For this reason Im not going to use them again. dont waste your time and money. these people only cut grass. any other task is like pulling teeth

After 3 landscaping services did no shows leaving me w/ overgrown grass, a couple clicks on LawnStarter got me a quote & a scheduled date. They showed & got my yard back to normal.

I am completely outraged. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone and set up service with a very friendly gentleman. They took my credit card information for auto pay and service was set for the upcoming week. Yet, this morning, i received an email stating that they are too busy to take me on a a new client. No phone call, an email. Email! I am furious. You mean that absolutely no one at their business can pick up a phone to let me know? I called and spoke to a very unapologetic person that informed me that was how they let their customers know that they were too busy. Now my lawn is very overgrown and i will have to incur a long grass additional fee for whom ever i do end up contracting. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

The worst, most unprofessional, and unresponsive company ever. You have to sign up for a 3 mandatory cut contract. Well, my lawn got cut once. Then I asked for quotes on other jobs around the yard, received them, and accepted. They then waited until multiple days after my cut due date to tell me that they had no one to cut my lawn in my area... What about the 3 mandatory cuts? What about the quote received and accepted? All this besides the fact that the first guy who cut my grass asked me if he could take the clippings after the next cut. I said sure, because it was late, he looked tired, and I didn’t expect this... So, I didn’t even get ONE full cut out of them... Steer clear, do an extra 10 minutes of work and find your own local crew. They like to try and scare you and say they’ll rope you into a contact for the whole season. I’ve used multiple companies, and have never had to sign a thing. Regardless, if you want someone to cut your lawn what would you rather have a signed piece of paper and a company that shows up and does their job, or a fly by night company take your credit card #’s, no responsibility for their contractors, and have zero respect for their customers or should I call us marks?

So the crew came out and destroyed my garden cut down all my native plants. The company will only pay for the property damage if a 3rd party comes out and writes a quote. This is impossible because your workers CUT DOWN ALL THE FLOWERS AND BUSHES!! How is someone supposed to write a quote for plants that they can no longer see?! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!!!!

Terrible service. I received three messages over the last two weeks claiming that my lawn was mowed, but it was not. I have emailed customer service dozen times and the issue was never resolved. The crew for my property has been changed twice. Its unclear what is happening but the company seems incapable of arranging a simple lawn mowing.

The papriksh is so good that you will want to lick the plate clean. The potato pancakes are the best I ve ever tasted.This place puts chesse on them. They put sour cream, my soul mate, in or on almost everything. So good!

This company does an excellent job you should use them.

If I could give negative stars I would. We asked for mowing and edging around the flower beds. We gave explicit instructions to not go past the small fences. We asked for a certain day so we could be there to talk to them before they worked. However, they came on a different day when we were not home (after canceling and rescheduling multiple times). They actually stepped into all our flower beds and WEED WACKED EVERYTHING! They destroyed over 150 dollars of plants (2 rose bushes, button bush, serviceberry, cone flowers, columbines, and sundrops) and also knicked 2 trees with the weedwacker. We called to complain and was told I could get credits for more services and they would now only send seasoned workers to our house. That the crew sent to our place had never worked for them before and were unsupervised and unfortunately this is how we learn who is good. How is this okay to test people out on other peoples homes?! Service credit and seasoned experts do not make up for the three years of hard work their employees destroyed in less than a day nor does it give me back my plants. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE A GARDEN!!!! We have filled out a property damage report but have not heard back yet. I will update this to a better rating if it actually gets resolved by customer service.

I usually mow my lawn myself but have gotten busy lately, so I booked lawnstarter for this summer. I was able to mow for a bit, so I was able to cancel all mows until next spring. When I got busy again, I was able to restart the mowings with a simple message. They notify you of an approximate date of the mowing. I saw a lot of reviews saying people dont show up, but my guy has shown up every time so far. Nice job so far.

If I could leave lower than 1 star I would. The crews constantly cancel and/or not show up at all. They don’t mow my whole lawn half the time. When I had two reschedules from a crew and then a no show I called them and they assured me someone would be put the next day, then it rescheduled me for 4 days later, and then by the 4th day I got a message my service was canceled because they didn’t have anyone to come mow. This company is AWFUL!!!
