My vehicle is under warranty with the dealership, but because of the dealership constantly trying to up sell me on unnecessary servicing items, I decided to take my vehicle here.They are professional and fair priced.The dealership didnt tell me that the rear brakes needed to be replaced....... This is one of the standard inspections during a dealership oil change which should not have been missed.Russ informed me that the rear brakes were dangerously low and he gave me a very fair price to have them replaced within the hour, also the battery failed its test and again Russ replaced it with a fair price and in a timely manner.Because of their honesty and fair pricing I will also be taking our second vehicle to them for future repairs and service.

Let me just start by saying I know a fair amount about vehicles and visited my fair share of mechanics. With that being said, I have never visited a shop with as genuine and integrity driven employees as this shop. I “thought” there was an issue with my trucks suspension as it felt a little loose to me. I am hyper critical and will have the slightest thing checked out to make sure my vehicle is operating at 100%. Knowing previous shops, I figured they would tell me I was right and need substantial work. NOT HERE! They explained that my leveling kit can affect my ride but there was nothing to be worried about. Not only did I save thousands but I have a much better peace of mind driving around. Thank you John and the Thunderbird Team, I will only be bringing my vehicles here from now on.

When I came to this place for help the Guy promised me that he would keep the charge about $200.00 well that was a lie, he called me next day and wanted to charge me $1500.00!!! SMH not nice it too me $245.00 to fix the problem. I cant believe they can make a promise and not keep it. Lesson learned!!

Came in for a transmission issue on our Honda CRV. Dedicated service by looking for parts and pieces reported as coming from all over the state. Took some extra time, but they got the job done and the car is running great again. On top of all that, the final charge came in way under the initial quote. Would recommend.

My vehicle’s a/c unit had been repaired in the past by Thunderbird Automotive and had recently stopped working, but the repair parts were still under warranty. I was able to get my vehicle in the next day and warranty repairs were done the same day. After I picked up my vehicle, I was driving the following day and there was a problem again with the a/c. I called and returned my vehicle the following business day and the a/c work was completed, with testing by Thunderbird Automotive, and released to me the same day. I am so grateful to Thunderbird Automotive for their terrific customer service, especially since the temperatures during that time were over 110 degrees.

Made a appointment to drop off for a oil change. 3 guys just stood around, one even came in the office for a mountain dew and wouldnt ring me up. Dont expect any decent service if Jhonny the manager isnt there. Just went to Goodyear, far better service there.

They did some expensive repairs at a good price in good time. I especially appreciated their communication. They always answered the phones promptly, and were able to answer my questions about my car.

1. Told them what I needed , diagnosed and charged me anyway... hey guess what? it was what I asked to get replaced2. They ordered the wrong part , 1 day turned into 5 days. I started out on a quest one afternoon to find a shop to work on my car, a 2015 Nissan Ultima. It needed front brakes desperately. I went to five different shops to get an idea of what Im looking at to pay. Without a doubt Thunderbird Automotive was the only shop I went to that didnt try to BS me into getting stuff I didnt need done. One shop told me they would even give me a free estimate on checking out my front brakes, but would have to charge me a $59 shop fee . . . 🤔 . . . Thunderbird Automotive for me was straight to the point, the work was done as was promised, I didnt have the option to get a ride home and wait for the work to be done so I waited at the shop and I believe they went out of their way to try to get the work done quickly so I wouldnt have to spend an entire day sitting in a lobby waiting room. Im beyond satisfied with everything that has to do with Thunderbird Automotive specialists. I had a recommend that you talk to them the next time you need to have work done on your vehicle.

My wife brought in our 2012 Hyundai Elantra because it was making what appeared to be a suspension noise. This was our 3rd shop we took the car to in order to have it inspected. The prior shops gave us inaccurate possibilities of what the problem was and would cost us ALOT of money. My wife was recommended to this shop because of there honesty and they were right!! Let me start with I dont usually write reviews but this is THE BEST AUTO SHOP IN ARIZONA!!! I had a broken mirror on my car and I had went to many places and they all told me it was going over be over $1,000 to fix. I went to Thunderbird Automotive Specialists and they found a mirror for my car online so I ordered the part and then came back in for them to install it for under half the price I was told at other auto shops. The staff here is very professional and so helpful and they work within your budget. I will be recommending EVERYONE I know to take their cars here for any service. Very satisfied and will definitely go to Thunderbird Automotive Specialists for all of my automotive needs!

Amazing Experience Today with Thunderbird Automotive Specialists! I brought in my Company van today with a “coupon” special I received in the mail for their $24.99 oil change which included the “free” 38 point inspection of my vehicle. Oil change was needed, but my true intended purpose for choosing to use this shop for this oil change special was the 38 point inspection to ensure my Company van was ready for long distance road travel out of state. Russ completed the oil change for only $24.99, legally reset/cleared the check engine light for free, explained in detail what caused the check engine light to be on, and DID NOT try or even attempt to try to “upsell” me on the results his Technician found from the 38 point inspection. I was made aware of some issues, but the issues I was made aware of were issues suggested to me I could take care of on my own so I did not incur a shop cost. The total charge for my visit today was only $24.99 which included the Amazing Customer Service I received. My Company van is my “lucky” Company van with 348,000 miles. Thank you for not only stating in writing your shop slogan, but “DOING” your shop slogan which states:“Integrity Means Everything”Thank You!

Brought my Ford Escape in to have my compressor removed and replaced. Everyone was extremely professional and upfront about what needed to be done. Even though they were really busy I got a call back that same afternoon. They found another issue with one of the lines and we had to replace it. I had my truck back the next day with an air conditioner that was blowing cold. . Couldn’t have been more happy with the service I received and I highly recommend Them.

Failed emissions for the 1st time in 25 yrs. Thunderbird Auto was one of many repair places on the list of acceptable shops. I chose Thunderbird Auto really because of location and I am so glad I did.From my 1st call to inquire, I was treated with respect, every question answered. From the day I took my 25 yr old truck into Thunderbird Auto I was told they usually have a vehicle for 5 days, to diagnose the issue, correct the issue then run it through emissions, pass emissions and then for me to pick up my truck. All of the people I spoke with at Thunderbird Auto were very professional, kind, thorough, showed me respect and really cared about doing a great job!. Though, they requested the 5 days to complete the repairs and pass emissions, I did not get my truck in there on time and they only had 3 days to complete everything, all of which was my own fault. They did not complain and they got it all done and passing emissions like a new vehicle. I cannot tell you just how impressed i was with the work done, the short time frame, the kindness and the joy these employees all had, always a smile and a laugh. Im not only very happy with the job they did but I recommend Thunderbird Auto to anyone wanting affordable, quality work from people that care. My first experience with Thunderbird Automotive was with my father-in-law bringing his vehicle in for routine service. He told them to use the full synthetic oil because a previous shop had sold him on that. He dropped the vehicle off and told them he would come by later in the day to pick it up. As I was taking him home, Thunderbird Automotive calls him and told him that they were certainly happy to do a full synthetic oil change,however, with the low mileage of the vehicle, it really wasnt necessary. They could do a partial synthetic change that would keep the car in top condition and cost him less. Its rare to find a shop that is looking out for the customer rather than just taking the easy money. I brought my car in a couple of weeks later. I had new tires installed at a local tire store the prior week, so I told them that there was no need for a tire rotation. They serviced the vehicle and during their inspection identified that one of the lug nuts was damaged. So, even though I had told them it wasnt necessary to mess with the tires, they stuck to their inspection protocol and found an issue that I was not aware of. It is this kind of attention to detail that separates a quality repair shop from the rest. So far, in my two interactions with them they have shown that they put the customer and safety first. I wouldnt hesitate to go back. - ED.

I had a check engine light on with a bunch of codes. They cleaned and fixed a bunch of problems. The main problem was dirt, my truck spends alot of time off road. Its running great now.

I brought my 2013 Nissan Juke in for an oil change and asked if they could take a look at my turbo as I had noticed a loss in power. They walked right into a disaster as there was a lot more damage than we had expected. Russ was super honest and up front about the entire process and was able to keep the cost at the expected price, despite a few extra hiccups. They also got me in quickly and Russ, John, and Brock were all three extremely helpful during this process and communicated effectively. This was a much better experience than any other place I have been to so far in the valley.Ive been here for many other things such as tires, brakes, struts, etc., and they are priced very competitively and I would recommend them for all services. They also have an uber/lyft account if you need a ride home.

They didnt do what I hired them to do....So I live across the street from this place and a coupon came in the mail for an oil change and tire rotation. I needed an oil change but really went for the tire rotation cuz my tires are on their last cycle. I Drop it off everything was good I pick it up after I get the call that its ready and while paying I casually asked so did you guys do the tire rotation and they assured me that if it needed to be done, It was done. Go out to my car it wasnt done. They didnt do what I came there for them to do so I accept it and leave. So I get a text a couple days later asking for my opinion on how Thunderbird Automotive did. I mull it over it over a couple weeks before telling them I was unhappy about not having my tires rotated. They get back to me promptly saying that they didnt do the tire rotation because their inspection report showed my tires were too worn down. Why the hell was I not informed of this when I picked it up? The front guy definitely told me about every other potentiaI problem with my car that should be addressed in the future. I measured my tires myself prior to taking it to get the tires rotated. The front tires were 4/32 and the rears were 6/32. Maybe have the front guy tell while Im paying that they determined something that needed to be done couldnt be done for whatever reason on my car instead of telling me that oh it was done if it was needed....pretty sure I was just fed an excuse as for why my tires werent rotated.

I brought my suv to this shop because of an abs light and ac issue. They were fast with their diagnosis and repair. They didn’t try to upsell us on a billion different issues with the car that we were already aware of. The finished the work in a day and all is good! Im happy to have found an honest and professional shop so close to home.

Went in to have a potential leak checked out. It turned out not to be anything, but they gave me their full attention while helping me. I needed an oil change anyways so we set up a time and they took care of me very well. They noticed that a license plate light was out and replaced that for me. First time taking my car to Thunderbird Automotive Specialists this week. The engine coolant was leaking, causing the engine to overheat and the check engine light to come on related to a coolant flow problem. Issues were diagnosed quickly and an accurate estimate was provided to get the car back into proper functioning condition. Once I gave the green light to proceed with the repairs, all was completed in 1 day.Since we only have one vehicle, the transportation home and back to the shop, through their partnership with Lyft was very helpful and convenient. That is the first time an auto shop provided that type of service.Honest and professional team that explained everything that my car needed in easy to understand terminology that even a layman like me could understand. Definitely will keep them in mind for future auto repair needs.

This place is lying to their customers in order to get more money.The proof;I am a mobil mechanic. I recently replaced inner and outer tie rods as well as sway bar end links and lower ball joints for both sides of the front on a 2004 f150. After completion I advised they need a computerized wheel alignment. She scheduled an appointment with thunderbird auto and they would not align it before an inspection. Well theyre inspections said it needed a new lower control arm and I didnt do my job correctly and twisted some lines.No lines were twisted. The control arm was not cracked and everything was fine. Other than the crab walk from the alignment being out.My customer had to pay for them, only for them to lie to her and to try and rip her off.I aligned it on the ground by eye and it drives just fine. No broken/cracked control arm. These people are lazy and unprofessional. Save your money and dont use them for anything.If your reading this thunderbird automotive. Shame on you.

When I first brought my vehichle to Thundebird Automotive, my vehichle was running pretty good but had a few minor leaks. I was quoted a repair cost of well over $2000 dollars to repair the leaks. I decided to just have the coolant leak repaired which alone cost me almost $1000. Two days later my ‘check engine’light came on. They denied it was anything they did and charged me almost another $1000 dollars to replace the fuel pump (which was only a couple of years old and had been working well), and canister vent valve. Upon getting my vehicle back from that repair, there was someting wrong with the suspension system. It is handling poorly with limited braking. In conclusion I spent almost $2000 dollars and still have 3 leaks and a vehicle that is now performing worst than ever.

Our truck wouldn’t start would turn be over but not start. We had it towed in. They worked on it right away and it was ready to be picked up the next day they go above and beyond my expectations. They work with us seniors and let us know what else should be done and give us the cost so we can plan for next visit. They are a great bunch of people and so polite.

I visited Thunderbird Automotive Specialists after exhausting my brain trying get my truck through emissions. They are a shop that I found through the VVRP and every step of the way John was able to explain how the program worked and kept me up to speed on what they were doing. I really appreciated the transparency of it all and everyone there had such positive energy and service. They even got my truck through emissions for me so that I didn’t have to go wait there again!

Dropped my car off with the A/C blowing at ambient temperature. They were able to get it diagnosed, repaired and back to me same day, and now its blowing ice cold again. I like to do any maintenance that I can on my own, but next time I run into something out of the scope of my ability theyll be my first choice to get it taken care of.

Went in for an oil change and their mechanic found additional needed repairs ie: hole in the radiator, no front breaks and other needed repairs. My vehicle is 17yrs old w/200K + miles. I compared their fees with other mechanics and believe they are competitively priced. The staff was professional and friendly I would use their services again.

Having been a GM and DM in Big Box retail and restaurants for 35 years I know what customer service looks like. I dealt with three individuals at Thunderbird Automotive John the owner, Brock and Destiny. All three went above and beyond to ensure that I got the best customer service and the best mechanical service I could receive. I brought my truck in for an oil change and to have a small leak looked at. After testing, the leak was determined to be a loose clamp on a radiator hose. I was charged a nominal fee for the testing but no other repairs. Later that evening my fiance notice the truck had a leak. I called John up at 10 minutes before closing and explain the situation. His Responce: AAA+ he said bring it right in. I did just that. The mechanic read the pressure test and at that time it was determined there was a small crack in the water pump. It was very difficult to see but still there. The mechanic owned up two missing the problem the first go-around and you could tell it generally bothered him from a pride standpoint. John asked me to bring it back down in the morning and he would get it taken care of. I return the vehicle the next morning and the truck was repaired. I was refunded money giving discounts not charged for items in walked out paying half of what I normally would have. Throughout this experience I was given Uber rides to and from my house for drop off some pickups and no extra charge which I personally saw as a great benefit. The friendly attitudes, the above-average service and the reasonable pricing are all good qualities to go there but what stands out most for me is the pride and the moral / ethical value in which John and all of his associates Ron Thunderbird Automotive. Found this place by chance, and glad I did. Ive only needed them a few times over the last eight years, but every time I do, theyre there for me, providing fast, courteous, professional service with excellent value and sterling results. Plus, theyre HONEST, which is something I really value. They dont try to upsell you or add on stuff you dont need. If you ask (as I did) for an inspection, they give you everything they find, and give you honest recommendations about what you actually need and what you dont. They even steered me toward a better deal elsewhere on tires. Kind of like Kris Kringle on Miracle on 34th Street. I recommend them to all my friends - and tho whoevers reading this!

Had to take my SUV in for major repair work. New engine. Was given two seneranos for repair. Was not pressured to go either way. They did the work in a week. Was told to come back in a 1000 miles to make sure everything was tight and no leaks. Very accommodating to me. Would recommend in a heartbeat ❤️.

When you get a oil change done, they also do a inspection. I was advised that my outer tie rods where loose. My vehicle does not pull to either side or shimmy. Tires also not wearing out in a odd manor. To some it up not experiencing any tell tale signs if the outer ties are bad. Perhaps they noticed before anything could happen? The biggest problem is pricing which was 700 dollars. To be fair that also included a alignment. Other shops and on-line prices were all around 325 to 400. I realize being in business you of course want and need to make a profit. There is a difference of maKing a profit and taking someone to the cleaners. If other business can do it for less you know that they are still making money. So come up with your own conclusions. They also send out a flyer with coupons for oil change and if you spend a certain amount you get so much off. Apparently once you use for the oil change, they take the whole flyer so you cant use anymore coupons. I would suggest you cut out the coupon you will use only.

Everyone was awesome John was great walked me through everything that needed to be done and that was great because i dont know anything about cars. Ill definitely go back.

Excellent customer service. They were upfront about everthing. A fair price for the work they did. They didnt make me get work I didnt need. Im new to Phoenix and they are my shop from now on.

Emission diagnostics failure code said evap canister was the problem. Thunderbird Auto found it was fuel pump and a fuel system valve problem. Those parts saved me money compared to evap canister. Gives confidence in there diagnostics abilities.
