This actually was a service warranty service. I have used this for several years and had very good service. The man who serviced spent hardly any time evaluating and checking my three appliances. Example: He only checked the temperature of the refrigerator & freezer. He ran the dryer for 5 - 10 seconds and checked the vent. He didnt even run water into the washer. I could have done what he did. This was not a typical evaluation. and not worth the cost of the service.

We purchased a full Kenmore Elite kitchen set from Sears Appliance Showroom. With our Kenmore Elite set we also bought all of the Sears Protection plans. We have more then received our value back from the service agreements since every appliance has needed some kind of repair. But the real night-mare began in September 2018 when the freezer stopped cooling. Working with Sears it took two months to fix it. Then the refrigerator went down. Now two months later we have not had the fridge fixed and since parts are not available they will replace. Unfortunately since our freezer/refridg is a matching set that is cabinet installed they are providing us with a fridge that doesnt match! Look at the picture below and imagine a fridge that is 1 inch shorter and has a different handle! They dont care. But they should be replacing both units as they were sold to us as a complete set and both have Protection Agreements. Working with the Sears Protection Plan and the horrible Sears Service Centers is a complete nightmare and has pushed my patience to the outer limits. Kenmore and Sears. Avoid them at all cost!The entire process of working through the service appt center, parts, and technicians is so dysfunctional we had no less then 8 different appointments for our 2 month long freezer repair nightmare. One technician actually refused to install parts that were shipped to us and took them away. That cost us another month in waiting and frustration with no functioning freezer.Three days later the refrigerator went down and has to this day 2 months later has not been repaired (as explained above).We have written a long letter to Sears Corporate to request that a freezer be provided that matches the new refrigerator. Will update this review if they respond.

My son said he was very friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, courteous and professional. He came to do a repair and did a maintenance as well, even though that was not on the list for him to do when I made the service call. I find that it is very reassuring to have Sears for extended warranty for my most important expensive appliances: water softener, refrigerator and extra standing freezer.I did check around for prices before settling with Sears and have been using them15+ years. When they come for a repair, there is no out of pocket charge, except for one time and only it is cause the part is not covered in the warranty, which was unusual.I highly recommend Sears for your extended warranty. The typical home warranties require a service call fee when they come for a repair. One or two calls a year on one appliance more than makes up for the entire warranty cost.

The person who came out was fine. The calls for service were atrocious, I was in phone tree hell and wait times were outrageous. Then I finally get to someone who transfer me and I am hung up on. Then I have to call back and go through the entire process again. I called to order my shattered top for my year old washer and was told that I had to pay for a technician to come out confirm that was the problem. No convincing anyone, not even with pictures that it was unnecessary. Had to pay and wait for them to be able for them to come out weeks later. Technician came out and ordered the new top and took my money and set up an appointment to come back and replace the top (yes I have to pay for that too) this would be in another two weeks. The part does not come, I have to get lost in the phone tree again and wait again to explain that the top did not arrive. I was told it was on back order and they would send it whenever, not in days, weeks, months or anything it would be there whenever it arrives. When it does arrive please call them back and they will send someone out to install. 2 months after breakage we receive the top and then have to set up appointment for another week away. Please note there was never an apology, there was never an attempt to assist in my frustration of not having any clue when by item would arrive. NOTHING. We wont even discuss the fact that it cost me 2 1/2 months and 1/2 the original cost of the washer to replace the top that broke due to a factory DEFECT. Stay away from Sears, Kenmore, and the maker Whirlpool. They do not care about customers or poor products and service.

They had next day availability which is awesome. I just wish I could have received some technical support over the phone. I ended up paying the full service fee for them just to litterally snap the metal wire thermostat that was hanging down back into the clip that holds it.

Service person did an excellent job of diagnosing and repairing the problem.I would like an explanation as to the charge. When scheduling the service call, I was informed of the $89 service call fee. I was told the service fee would be applied toward the cost of repair, if repair was necessary.None of the $89 was applied to my bill. I was charged $14.36 for the part and $50 for labor. The gentleman was present in my house approx one hour.Please explain how your policy works.

The technician kept us well informed of his arrival and was very prompt. He was extremely professional, courteous and explained very clearly everything he was checking and why, making any recommendations for changing filters on a regular basis. I have always purchased a Maintenance Agreement for all of my appliances from Sears and I utilize them faithfully once a year. I am a diehard fan of Sears and their appliances. They always live up to the Maintenance Agreement 100%. The service call we received was excellent and the technician is a great asset and representative to Sears. Highest Recommendations!

Washing machine was repaired as requested. The technician had excellent communication skills. He explained what he had found to be defective with the unit. Upon completion of the work, the washing machine was completely functional. Very satisfied with the work performed at our home.

If I could leave a negative rating, I would do so. Do not use them. Youve been warned. They are a nightmare to work with. The technician required a fee my warranty company first off waived, and even if they didnt, I pay it to them online. So clearly I was being jerked around. Then, rescheduled the appointment with a different tech just to be somehow cancelled? So I am off for no reason today and out over $300 salaries and still no refrigerator. So feel free to call them if you enjoy getting screwed over. Theyll definitely do that.....!!!!

The service was excellent but two days after I was charged twice for the trip by National Claims Service which is supposed to be for delinquent accounts. I notified Sears and within 24 hrs they told me I was only charged once. I contacted them again and was told it would be evaluated and resolved within 48 hrs. 72 hours later I had not heard from them and my credit card company challenged the second charge (they had been on the phone for the 48hr promise). I found Sears non-responsive to my issue.

Our dryer was making clunking noises, but as luck would have it when the technician came out the dry made the noise for 3 seconds and then cured itself. The technician thought that the our lint vent might have too much debris and that we should clean it out. He was very professional and polite but clearly could fix something that wasnt broken. We cleaned out the vent and the dryer has been working great. I would still recommend Sears for any appliance repair service, weve used them in the past.

I called on a Friday because my washer wasnt working correctly. The tech came out Monday. He was delayed by a previous appointment but he kept in contact with me. He was able to fix my machine right away..... luckily it was a simple fix. My only disappointment was that I had to wait over the weekend to have it looked at. The tech did a great job!

I give the service 2-stars because of the simple fact that the ice-maker is fixed. However, I struggle with giving 2-stars because the quality of service was horrendous. My tenant was pressured into consenting to an entire replacement of the ice-maker. I believe the technicians course of action was: (a) recommend completely replacing the ice-maker for an obscene dollar amount; (b) pressure the tenant into consent by telling her that she has to make a decision now because he needed to leave and he wouldnt be able to come back out without another service/diagnostic fee. He then took the 10 minutes required to remove and install the new ice-maker and was on his way.Definitely not what I expected from Sears Appliance Repair and I will not be using their services for any appliance repairs in the future.

Do not call them for service. My wife was home. The tech was in my house less than five minutes, said he could not find the tag with the serial number (it was inside the stove where my wife told him to look), and then left, but not after making sure they charged us $100 to do nothing. I immediately headed home and called Sears. They promised the tech would call me back and come back to the house. I spent the whole day at home and no calls. I just got off with customer service and the best they can offer is for me to miss another day of work and only cover 50% of the fee for them to return to inspect my broken stove. The Sears Arizona license number is #ROC092564. I plan on filing a complaint with the Registrar of Contractors and the BBB along with leaving every negative review I can. If they want to waste my time and steal my money that is the least I can do. DO NOT CALL THEM FOR SERVICE!!!!!!

Ease of setting up appointment was great, technician was knowledgeable. Work was done swiftly. The bad news is that they will not except their 20% off coupon unless you hand them a paper copy! This is not customer friendly when the repair is being done remotely. In this digital age, a paper copy is not customer friendly and quite honestly deceiving in your advertising. I will think twice before using services again.

Hi. The repairman was great. He came out diagnosed the problem with the ice maker in seconds then figured out how to get a new part that day. Returned and fixed it. I was so happy with him.I decided to buy a Sears home warranty for insurance on other appliances in my home. Huge mistake!!! I actually had to use it after the 1 month waiting period. My 2 year old convection microwave just quit!! I bought it from Sears. I felt I was in luck with the warranty. I called the service center. They gave me a name of a company. DAYS later THAT company could not get out. New name! The runaround began again. rep says wait 4 days for them to return call. This company was in CA and I told them it was an internet company that does not do repairs on microwaves or in AZ!! DAYS later I get a another name. This guy was great. Came out diagnosed problem.....waited to see if SEARS would replace or repair....waited...finally I was MAD...patience gone...They said my choice to replace or repair. They would give me $250.00 towards a new one. This was on sale for $800. when I bought it! I chose repair and that means parts will not be warrantied. REALLY?? Parts got lost..UNBELIEVABLE. 4 WEEKS LATER...CONSTANT CALLING SEARS...PARTS ARRIVED AT REPAIRMANS PLACE. He came out and fixed it. Cost $100.00 with insurance and 4 weeks and 1 day without microwave!! I am cancelling my Sears Warranty!!!!!

When I made the appt, Sears gave me a 4-hr window for the tech to arrive. To better plan my day, on the day of, I called a few hours prior -- they told me what number service call I was and the service call he was currently on. Received a call from the tech 20 mins prior to arrival.He was knowledgeable, courteous, organized. He gave us some pointers on use and maintenance. He mentioned the opportunity to add other appliances to our service contract and wasnt pushy when we indicated we werent interested.Sears repair and maintenance has ALWAYS been a good investment for us -- they are reliable and knowledgeable. Not so with other stores. Any time weve been tempted to purchase elsewhere, weve been sorely burned.

This review is strictly on Dryer repair and another one should be done for the Washer when the replacement is ordered and delivererd. The repairman that 1st came out ordered parts for dryer, but service on washer was slow and inconclusive leaving us in the dark too long.Although it took a little while to get part for dryer, the repairman stayed on top of the part delivery and was there by 9:30 that morning.We are still waiting for Sears service on Replacement of Washer.We will be giving our matched set of Bosch for a Samsung dryer.

I wasnt home when the technicians showed up but my wife was. My wife stated she was happy with the technicians and that they did an excellent job. They finished fairly quickly and were professional throughout the entire time they were here. We have had Sears out here before and were not happy with the service at that time. The technicians didnt replace everything they should have which necessitated theyre returning to repair our freezer again. We were not advised about getting reimbursed for the food we lost the last time we had our freezer repaired. Even though we arent happy with how much we are getting for the food we lost, at least we will be getting something.

Visit #1 - 1 starMy washer was not working and displaying a code F20/F28. The tech with 1 yr experience tried to convenience me it was fixed after barely working on it. I proved him wrong and he reopened it, tried a few more things them ordered a bunch of parts leaving me without a washer for a week due to scheduling an appt and delivery. He also did only half the annual inspection and when questioned about it tried to convenience me he did everything, he did about half what others have done for previous annuals. He did not fill me with confidence...Visit #2 - 5 starsAfter the parts arrived a follow-up visit brought an experienced repairman. After some initial analysis he fixed the problem without using the parts. It was a simple fix the first repairman should have known. It would have saved me a week and a half without a washer.

3rd Party repair company did not make the first appointment, order parts the second appointment, and the third appointment left my washer in pieces. Repair person said that a supervisor would need to finish repair but could not come out that day. After explaining entire situation to Sears, they sent out their own repair person who fixed it that day! The third party was not worth dealing with...

Louis looked at my air conditioner, made excuses as to why he could not check the refrigerant, and forgot to check the kenmore furnace. I had to insist he wash off the dust on the intake. I did itTurns out the bulb which was new after struggling to get it in did not go on. I think that it needs a repair. I also think you should have bulbs on the truck. Not happy. Tech stated water heater was recalled. I called Whirlpool and AO Smith they stated water heater was not recalled. Received run around from Sears Tech, Whirlpool and AO Smith. Tech stated that I owed fees for Diagnostic. Before calling Sears for service, I asked did I owe any fees. I have Sears Protection Plan for over 12 years. I never had to pay any fees. I was smelling gas from water heater. I felt it was a waste of time for Sears tech to come out for service because he did nothing. I called the Southwest GAS--I was informed I had a gas leak in the pipe attached to the Water Heater. Sears Tech was so focus on Water Heater recall that he did nothing about the gas leak. My water heater model was not on recall.

The Sears repairman came promptly the day after I called and worked for an hour or more, then said we would need an electrician to handle special wiring problems. After the electrician finished, I called Anthony and he promised to be here by the end of the day; Instead, he came about 1 p.m. and finished the job. Well done, in contrast to the installer of my microwave, who did not do a good job -- some of the aluminum and/or copper wiring had burned -- very dangerous.

This was the second repairman on the same problem. He replaced the Motherboard and a wire and said that it would start producing ice very soon and to discard the first several batches. We had 8 cubes, very dark in color, since he left ,and that is all. I have called for the third repairman for the same problem. So frustrated!The third repairman replaced the ice maker for the second time. He said that the first replaced ice maker was a refurbished one and did not work. He put a new ice maker in and now we HAVE ICE!!!! YAY!!!!! and good ice. Thank you

Sears is very over-priced for warranties and installs. Bought new dishwasher from Home Depot after Sears tech said it would cost about the same as a new dishwasher. The Sears techs know their stuff, but you will pay for it in the price. Tech for Frig tried to charge an additional $15 to my bill, but it was refunded by Corporate later. No more LG or Samsung appliances ever! They should just stick with cell phones and tvs...

Just had a terrible experience with their appliance repair services department — a week ago, we paid $99 for someone to come to our house to perform a diagnosis on the cooling issue with our refrigerator, it only took the tech a minute to identify the problem which was quite obviously the compressor. Since the part is still under manufactory warranty, we would only need to pay the labor cost to get it repaired. The quote he gave us was around $400 and if we decided to do the repair with him, the initial diagnosis fee could be applied to the repairing cost as credit which would bring the final cost to around $300. During the visit, We suddenly remembered that we also had a home warranty and told him we would check with our home warranty carrier first and get back to him. When we called the sears today to schedule the repairing work, we were told because we declined their service last time and they would need to send a another tech to do the diagnosis again and we would need to pay for that as well. First of all, we never stated that we would decline their services but just to ask them to put that on hold until we had talked to our home warranty carrier first to see if they could help to pick up some of the cost, secondly, the tech who provided us the quote never mentioned to us about a second trip and additional fees required to continue their service, and most importantly, if the problem had been diagnosis and we knew that a new compressor is needed, what is the point to have someone come again to perform something that was already done? When I tried to address the concerns with their customer service helpline, I got transferred to several reps, all they could say is sorry and that was company policy. Finally, I asked for the supervisor and they placed me on hold for a long time and hang up the line. Will never buy another product from Sears or use their service again. Would give 0 star had they allow me to post

The repair man was late. He was to arrive 8:00-12:00 but arrived 1:30. This is a day before Thanksgiving, when time is precious, a day wasted. Pressing the oven panel a few times diagnosis it doesnt work. Then he worked up a bill 2x the quoted bill.

The service man did not even drain the water heater, for sediment. He claimed it was not needed anymore, but last year they did drain it. It took him about 5 minute, for the annual check up.

The most expensive repair to fix my refrigerator door cost over 220.00 for a service call and 18.09 for parts. The door would not close properly. It lasted just long enough for the warranty period and now does not work Sears has lost me as a customer and future service calls

Scheduling appointments and getting service is very frustrating. Our fridge is 3 years old and we suspect it was never cold enough. On day recently it just stopped working. We scheduled repair. They give you a 4 hour window. The window time was not met for the first service appt. Apparently there was a meeting and they still scheduled appts. So what they do is reschedule you for a slot 2 hour later than your original slot. Dont think they told us that. We just found out by having to call or maybe we got a text but still frustrating when you take time off work and they dont show up. Turns out the major parts had to be replaced(compressor, condenser, etc) took a week and a half to get parts. Asked tech what labor would be as we knew parts were covered but not labor and he said there was no charge. He came back after the appt was done and said oh I was wrong it is $287.00. Follow up would have been nice. I bought a fridge thermometer to test it and it never registered what we had the fridge set at, so we scheduled another appt. Again the rep did not arrive in the 4 hour window(1-5). I had taken the afternoon off work. we got a call that he was on his way and then he did not arrive until about 7:00. He did nothing to repair it. He said he would need more time and we needed to schedule a morning appt. He offered monday and we said we could not do it till thursday and he still scheduled it for monday so we had to reschedule it the other day. Not sure if we will get the same guy. I have no idea where I can call to express my frustration to sears. The appt line people seem to know nothing. I hope my fridge gets repaired on Thursday but from what the last tech said it sounds like it may not.

Not sure why tech doesnt carry parts. Had to wait for part to be delivered to me via UPS. Then had to call and schedule for tech to return and install part.The tech was very friendly and professional...
