The Paramus, NJ location of PetSmart is wonderful. I have been taking my Yorkie Maxwell to this location for grooming for a while now and we both love it. What I love most is that the staff is very courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. They even give me a report card of Max’s visit such as “Max did well today”. They showed a genuine concern for the well being of my Max and handled him with care. I recommend that you give them a try. I guarantee that you will be glad that you did.
Really this deserves zero stars. I have given this place numerous tries but the service & attitude of the staff is disgusting. Specifically with Jessie. Not only is she rude but she is not understanding at all. The minute I got there she took my dog and another worker was dragging my dog as if it were a toy. I could only imagine the way they treat him when i’m not there. There are several other dog grooming places to go to. This will be the last time I ever go. Do not waste your time with them.
Placed online order for live mealworms on Saturday night after closed. They were ready for store pickup on Monday morning. (Store is closed on Sunday due to Paramus Blue Laws.) I was in and out for pickup in less than 5 minute.

This was the paramus location. Very clean. The employee who asked if I need help was extremely informative and helped me and my husband out a lot. I think her name was Kori. Plenty of parking but on weekends maybe very busy.
Had the over head tieout I wanted for my Dog..was happy about that. Had a bit of sticker shock at the prices. Definitely going to pay full retail price here

Jesse and the crew always do a great job grooming my 90 lb Shepherd/Malamute mix. I’m always greeted with a smile, pleasant conversation, and he is treated with love as if he were one of their own pups. I’m always asked how I feel about my feelings on the quality of grooming at pickup just to make sure I’m happy before we even walk out....now that’s customer service!

Love this store-they were so good with their offer -you buy food and they donate food to needy pet. It ran for a year I wish they would bring it back. I have a rescue pet from the adoption service Smart II it is run out of this store. They are wonderful people. To this day I still can go back and speak with them with any questions I have and they always have sound advise.
Jesse has been great with my cat and treats her like a princess a true professional. She works in Paramus,NJ on rt 17 and Id highly recommend her.

You guys say you are animal lovers, but you are a child heartbreakerI’m not recommending this place to anyone that loves pets .After 10 days that I placed an application for a cat adoption for my little son and those 10 days I brought my son there to look at the cats for hours, hoping to be able to adopt the cat and say it was a gift from Santa. They never checked my reference and they never called my recommendation contacts and today we called Chris the adoption manager and she said they were not going to let us adopt the cat and they did not give us an explanation as to why they wouldn’t allow us to adopt the cat.

Curbside pickup... checked in and after 25 minutes of waiting, I went inside. “Oh sorry, I didn’t have the tablet logged in and I didn’t know you were out there.” Umm- what? I had to come in and risk spread because someone was not logged in??Let’s hope this is only an isolated hiccup, but based upon my experience today... be prepared to go inside.

Friendly staff, well stocked with pet supplies, and has an in-house adoption and vet clinic. Only real con is that the location is kind of hidden and the parking lot is cryptic to figure out.
Chris in adoptions was fabulous. After reviewing my application and interviewing me for 15 minutes. She checked my references and was given the ok to adopt 2 kittens.She spent time with me picking out items for my 2 kittens. She was a tremendous help. She pointed out rhe coupons..i save $40.00.Thank you Chris.

Ive always liked this very large pet store location. Over the years I have had many different pets and could almost always find what I needed here for them. They carry supplies for most pets needs, have a large fish selection, on site grooming, and a Banfield Pet Hospital all in the store. The prices are good on most items and they have good sales.
The best grooming service for my cat
I made an appointment with the groomer a week and a half ago. With everything going on with the pandemic and it being hard to find a groomer in my area, I was willing to TRAVEL 45 minutes to this Petsmart location for the first time. I never got a confirmation call Or text (which I understood with everything going on) so I took it upon myself to call them the Friday before my appointment to confirm the time. (my appointment was for Monday Memorial Day). The woman on the phone tells me my appointment is for Monday at 11am, which is PERFECT and exactly the time I remember booking because I know I am traveling from far away and that would allow me enough time to get my dog there on time.My biggest mistake was not asking the girl for her name, the morning of my appointment I get a call from the store telling me that my appointment was actually for 9AM and they cannot squeeze me in nor accommodate me. I explain to the woman on the phone my situation and how I HAD TO CALL THEM to confirm and I wasn’t given the correct appointment or some kind of mistake was made on their end. The woman just kept on telling me they don’t have availability for 3 weeks and was not helpful at all. Not only are they UNORGANIZED but what happened to customer service? Especially when someone from your staff made a mistake? I will never recommend anyone to go to this groomer simply because of how they handled the situation and their lack of professionalism.
The staff is so friendly and it shows they care about our pets. Love how gentle they are with my 13 year old toy poodle, who is blind and deaf as well as how patient they are to my high energy 8 year old doxie. I cannot recommend this location enough, we will continue to come as they do great work on grooming.
Never had an issue with this groomer until today. We’ve always taken our dogs here for nail cut/grind and were always satisfied. We’ve decided to give their grooming a try, and it was a major disappointment.Scheduling was uncoordinated. We were confirmed for 11:30am, but when we got there to drop off our dogs, they tried telling us that one is at 11:30 and another at 12:30. They ended up taking both dogs, and we were told an hour to an hour and a half. We went to run errands instead of waiting. They called 30 min later to let us know the dogs are ready. We said ok, and we’ll be there within 45min. They found that unacceptable and threatened to charge us additional $30 for each dog as “overnight” stay.They claimed that because of our dogs’ breed (frenchie and pug) that they cannot put them on a kennel, and that they have to keep someone holding them at all times. If that’s your policy, then at least explain that to your clients when they drop off or make the appointment. Also explain any extra charges you would charge if they can’t pick up right away. That’ll prevent having bad customer experience.

I was there to adopt a cat. I have really wanted one for a long time and finally the circumstances are right to do so. Upon arriving tho I was very disappointed how I was treated. The lady in charge told me I could not pet them because of Covid-19. She continued dismissing my presence and started talking to another customer. I saw her later letting the same customer petting different cats.

I brought my two dogs for grooming yesteday early morning and was told one of the two was too matted for them and needed to go to a vet to for haircut. I also was told I would be charged additional money for the one dog. As a matter of double of the cost of my other dog. I was able in same to find another groomer. Both dogs were groomed and both dogs look fantastic.Good bye Pet Smart !!!

Placed an online order which was supposed to be ready in an hour for pickup. After waiting almost 3 hours with no e-mail stating the item was ready for pick up I went to the store to ask about my order. Cashier called for somebody named Ronnie (female) who I assumed to be the manager on duty. She asks for my order number and says its being pulled.... sounds good. She arrives with the product and places it on the cashiers belt and tells him to bag it even though the cashier was helping someone else and the bags were directly next to her. I guess she wanted to establish that she was in charge. Then she proceeds to reprimand me for going to the store without a second confirmation e-mail that the items were ready for pickup. If I place an order that says will be ready in an hour, and I arrive to pick it up three hours later and its still not ready... an apology would have been nice. Instead she opted to go the attitude route... so I went the online review route. I guess were even.
Selection was great but cashier gave me a lecture on plastic shopping bags. Made me want to leave the items and go somewhere else. If I spend over 250. dollars, should I not have the right to purchase without a lecture Im too old for that. I believe in saving the planet, I could have very easily driven the cart to my car and placed the items in the trunk without a the plastic bags. But the lecture I can do without. Next week when I go Petco I will be more than happy to bring my own shopping bags Im sure they wont lecture me Thank you.
Rose is the groomer for my 3 Japanese chins. She is absolutely amazing. My dogs love her and her personality. She definitely deserves a raise for her hard and patient work.
