The store has been closing down for way before the pandemic. And when you ask anyone there, they must have signed a contract to say nothing about it. No seriously...why are the doors open? There is more electronic inventory at a 7-11 that has a dozen phone cords. Fryes...youre totally waisting our time driving over there, parking, walking in and seeing that there is nothing to buy. Either get back to business or close. Either S or get off the pot. No need to write much more of a review. A picture tells a thousand words. Went to the Oxnard store 6/20/20 for the last time. Not one customer in the store and maybe two employees. Seems like a big waist of lighting energy...and rent. At least they could pretend to be in business and clean the carpet where racks and shelving USED too be.
Ive gone here for many years Ive always loved it sadly in the last year or two they seem to have way less people working there and their inventory seems to be super low. I still gave them a three-star because the previous seven or eight years have been awesome. But the last 2 have not. I hope to see their store become better again.
Ive always liked Fryes electronics. And until yesterday I would have never rated them below a five-star. But when we went to the store it was practically empty of items or of quality items. they didnt have a large selections the shelving units were empty and the areas of the store that were blocked off had no items. It made me feel like I was going to a store that was closing down our shutting down business. Also they had no handicap wheelchair or scooter cart available for handicapped individuals and their store is huge. Had to get people just wont come to this place and to me that is a discrimination. Not saying that the stores are responsible for handicapped people but it is a common thing for stores to offer handicap access for people and that is something absolutely does not offer at this location and I thought that was pretty inconsiderate of them considering my partner has multiple sclerosis and gets worn out super easily and the store is huge. So it made me feel like this fries did not want our business. All of the items that they had at the store were either off brand items or were not the type of items I would purchase. they didnt have a particular type of light bulb and when I asked the clerk that was walking on the aisle she kind of pointed and said well thats what we have without offering any suggestions or without even trying to find out if they had anything else or if anything else was available if I order online or trying to help me find a solution for the problem of not having a particular type of light bulb that I was looking for. When we looked for a television sets the other clerk over the television set area said well thats all we have. and walked off without offering assistance. The store seemed ghostly and empty I dont think there were any other customers besides us. And it just didnt seem like the fries experience Im used to. I feel like the employees had a bad attitude. I feel like the store was empty and was on the edge of maybe even bankruptcy feeling type of thing. And thats not the fries I know so I have to give the store a much lower star rating than I would offer it normally. I hope they get their stuff together and maybe fix the attitudes or the lack of caring that I seem to feel at the store. And maybe they could consider getting wheelchair access items like a wheelchair or a scooter for people who cannot walk long distances and when they see a handicap person and they dont have a handicap assistance then maybe they could offer help with their clerks helping to find the items that the person needs. I hope Fryes actually takes a look at this and says something because I would like to see them do better Ive always liked fries in the past and right now Im just not happy with the store or our visit there.
Easy shopping online and in store. Quick pick up process. Has been my experiences. Our store here is very big. Very. Alot of floor to walk. Good repair area and for all the years Ive gone, off and on. I prefer them over Best buy. Theres no comparison.
0 inventory, at least of anything name brand. Tons of off brands. This used to a be a place where you could walk in and have your pick of almost anything electronic. Went in for a graphics card, was told to go to a table in the back and they are all there. THEY HAD ONE 760 graphics card. That was it. Nothing else in the store.
Nice clean store.Very clean shelves, nothing on them to make them look untidy.I did see an employee, just the one!Customers, about as many as employees! Hey, should get a star for one to one customer/employee ratio!3 stars for lack of stock, hope when Covid subsides we will see it come back.
I dont know what happened to this placeI went there and the store was almost empty This used to be the place to get all your electronic stuff. Now there selling no name brands. The shelves are empty .I hope that they can make a come back soon I think the store is still much needed!
Cant go out of business fast enough. Spent forty minutes looking in store and never approached by an associate. Bare minimum on shelves. Its only a matter of time for this ghost town.. Never going back.
Ghost mall material. Privately owned failed enterprise. Somehow still open despite the fact that the shelves are empty of any merchandise of value.Someone offloaded 95% of the saleable merchandise but left the shelves and real estate. Hot a computer, phone, stereo, TV, appliance, in the place. No explanation given. What is there looks like consignment junk from China in the corpse of a failed chain of stores on life support hoping for a buyer Simply excess brick and mortar retail capacity in a world of internet sales
CALLING ALL NERDS/GEEKS! This is your wonderland of wares and computer arts for all. Video games and more. Love this place as much as I love music. Not to mention they have music wares too!
If you are into electronics, this is the place. I think of it as the place to see it all.Their prices: very good. I signed up for their email promos and was pleasantly surprised. They really save me a lot of money. The store is very clean and has a great selection of everything from external hard drives to cameras and big screen TVs.Thr only negitive i can say is that computer staff can be a little pushy. I found out that they sell on a commission basis so I guess they have to be, their opinions can be pretty biased based on what you want vs. what they need to sell.
Consistently awful experience. The employees are passive and will only help if you can find the one that is assigned to the section you need help in and is not having with a coworker. To thier floor displays are not tended to. Why would you display a keyboard with half the keys picked out?Lastly the bait and switch. The price under the product is often for the wrong product so when you go to pay, they will charge you more unless you catch them. This happened twice in the same day with three visits to the cashier.
Lots of empty aisles and shelves. Hearing various rumors. Still some deals can be found in the store. What you wont find is much on the way of staffing.
Absolutely NO inventory.Went here to buy a laptop. They had 1 computer to look at.Totally felt like a Socialist / Communist country with zero options, zero inventory.I asked the employees IF the store is closing...their answer? Nope. Not closing. Sure looked like they were closing up shop.
I just went into Frys every single employee is on their phone. No one greeted us because the girl is too busy on her phone. I asked someone in the computer area where I can find something and he points to the back of the room and walks away. I didnt see anyone anywhere nor could I find what I was looking for. As I am walking out I see another employee walking by on her phone so I tell her Im leaving because the customer service is awful and I couldnt find anyone to help me and she says nothing looks back to her phone and keeps walking. Frys is to be Great. Ill never come here again.
This is definitely my favorite place to shop for my electronics. I hope this place doesnt go away anytime soon from Oxnard.
Felt like they were going out of buisness loke for a big store hardly any inventory... but the employee assured me they just did a remodel
Use to love this store. However I went in there recently and it has gone downhill. Inventory has been cut in half.. so its a hit or miss.. staff are lazy. They know what there talking about but extremely lazy.
A far cry from its heyday. Many shelves empty I hope after covid they may re-emerge.
You can almost always find tech items that you are looking for as well as other things. They had shelves of hand sanitizer. There were very few customers shopping so its a good place to go.
Wonderful store, has everything youd ever need for electronics.
Nothing in the store. Entire departments are completely cleared out. No computers, no appliances, one tv, a couple packs of batteries and a roll of packing tape. Its been like this for over a year and nobody there will talk about whats going on. There are maybe 4 employees there and they are extremely hard to find. Seems like the store is closing but theres no information about it
Needed a universal charger for my laptop and they had one that fit my asus laptop. They allowed me to test the cable out with the service department to ensure it works before I bought it!!!!!
The store was bare bones for a Frys and felt like it was being liquidated. Skeleton staff and prices for some items were outrageously high. Look for sale items here or items you absolutely cant find cheaper at Walmart or on Amazon.com.
Love Frys Electronics. went there Today hadnt been there in a year..geez Covid just about Elias killed there business . 4 people in the whole store and 5 employees. really sad.
Did not honor warranty on a device that failed. I walked out with money in my pocket ready to buy a new projector, but I certainly wont be getting it from them. Amazon customer service is far better.
This store had zero computer hardware. Looked like they going bankrupt
They dont have hardly anything anymore. Its a surprise their still open
The shelves are bare and what little stock they have is spread around to make it look like they have more than they actually do. Despite assurances from the employees I asked that theyre not going out of business, the two stores Ive been in recently (Burbank and Oxnard) look remarkably like when Toys R Us went out of business, only without the 50% discount signs everywhere and maybe slightly cleaner. Id be very surprised if Frys makes it to next Christmas without folding. Too bad because I prefer Frys over Best Buy.
Huge stock of cleaning supplies, wipes, hand cleaners and a huge assortment of different mask types. Hopefully the store will hang on through all of this. At least they are keeping their doors open.
Building is gigantic but not super well stocked for its size. Impossible to find staff to ask for help. Eventually found what I was looking for but it was a hunt because it wasnt even close to the section it should have been.
As of 10/16/20 the oxnard store has picked up some inventory. Still a lot of hand sanitizer and face masks. They had some Sony TVs, Bluetooth speakers and sound bars today. I hope they make a full return. As far as I know, oxnard Fry’s is not closing.
This placed has really died down a lot. They dont have that much stock stock but I felt it was like they are going out of business or stocking less
I think Frys is going out of business. No stock, empty shelves. No employees to help like it used to be. Its sad.
They need to keep better watch on the customer service counter, but it looks like theyre starting to get more products in.
Store is pretty empty, shelves have not been stocked in awhile. Ok prices. Wide range of electronics.
Some how i always leave satisfied 👍🥓🐣💯
Amazing store. So many things!!
Still a ghost town with few products. No TV, No Computers. Not sure how its sustainable to pay rent on a hige place where half has no product. I was 1 of maybe 8 people in the store. They said in November 2019 they were going to get a new vendor for items, looks like that did not happen. Sad to see. Staff was friendly and I did find the one adaptor I needed. The rating is due to lack of products.
Three associates walked past me in the department that I was shopping. Not one engaged me or cared that I needed assistance. Its very frustrating to come in having an idea of what you want, and then when you find it (higher dollar USB thumb drives), you figure out that they are all in the wrong spot on the shelf. The first one or two and I think its just a customer maybe changing their minds and not putting it back in the right spot, but 4+ name brand items clearly in the wrong spot where the name on the tag doesnt match... ridiculous.Photos show examples of two.Best Buy, across the street, may cost a dollar or two more; but at least they arent wasting my time and expecting me to do work I shouldnt have to do. I dont think Ill return here.
Check online, call to verify stock levels before going is my recommendation. I called and was told they had 4 cables, went to the store and found it hard to find someone with experience to know what I was looking for. It was very standard PC cable that every current PC has in it, a male to male 6 pin to 8 pin power connector to power GPU. I left the store, empty handed after asking 3 people for help. 2020 7-10 Store was very empty, sign of Covid-19 times? Or are they keeping less merchandise in the store? For more than 20 years this was the place to shop for electronics due to their selection.
As of 6/19/20 the store is pretty much empty but its still open and workers seem to be taking current stock for online orders or something else.Like the review before it appears this location is going to close at some point
Friendly staff, great customer service. Only 4 stars because inventory is usually low or out when I go there. Also wish they would bring back books and car stereo installation.
Empty. Only ppe mostly as if 2020 bc of covid. It was booming back in the day
This place is a barren wasteland. An absolute JOKE of a store(?). There was no inventory. Whatever things were on the shelves were stretched out to take up as much space as humanly possible.Went in to buy a computer... NO COMPUTERS, NOTHING.An embarrassing experience with how much I loved going to other Frys. What a joke.
Its a ghost town now. 10 years ago, I used to love hanging out there just for fun. I guess thats what Amazon will do to you if you dont evolve. At least Best Buy has figured it out so far...
Normally a trip to Frys is enjoyable with so much to look at but it seemed like todays visit had a going out of business feel or perhaps just this location. Shelves were empty, and the store vibe was dull and quiet. Its been awhile since my last visit here so who knows.
Still the best electronics store ever! All sorts of great products and merchandise at the best prices. The wide variety of novelty items and breakthrough items is spectacular like 3D printers and even game of thrones journals and Jimi Hendrix puzzles to name a few. I absolutely love this place and can find just about anything I want or need. Was the best choice to purchase everything I needed to start summer classes at college. Yippee!
Frys is a cool spot to look around for electronics. Its wild how quiet it is there nowadays. It used to be busy all the time! Im glad there are still places you can go to physically check things out before you buy.
Where to begin..*Fabulous selection and management willing to negotiate. Christian is the manager i enjoyed working with. Got a most fabulous deal on a fridge and mattress.*Departments adequately staffed and they know their products. The store is large and their jobs are labor intensive yet they are happy to help.*Delivery service very reasonably priced.*ample parking in an area populated with stores and car dealerships.* checkout was quickGo check out Frys in Oxnard
What use to be my favorite store, barely recognizable, row and rows of empty shelves.
Nobody is there to help you. Nasty ,lazy people.
This place has an amazing variety of products. Ive been here to purchase phone accessories, video games, movies, electronics hobby supplies, etc. Its even saved me a couple times at work; if were missing an electronic part theres a good chance I can run to Frys and find what I need. And their prices are reasonable, with good deals if you subscribe through email.
Helpful people. Not sure if the tariffs have hurt this company but shelves were looking pretty thin for Frys. Maybe is the location. Frys for life.
Sandra is the best associate I’ve ever seen. We go to her with all our TV questions and she has all the answers. She’s awesome and makes the tv buying experience a good one.
Sad to see the store closing soon. This store was the best Frys electronics store, Great service , Friendly people but lately the decision of owners is to close the store after clearing inventory. Unable to compete with Amazon and online prices. Sad to see workers losing their jobs.
Absolutely nothing on the shelves when I was there. Not even the displays had anything in them.
The store is pretty much empty. So sad...
They are at like 20 % inventory and half the store is sectioned off.
Ownership change, most of the product is gone, youre pretty sure theyre closing their doors any minute now.
It looks like they are going out if buusness they had almost nothing and they sell perfume food sodas fridges and toys.. Sadly this place sucks bad
Great place for all of your Electronic Needs, Good Prices
Many empty shelves, no sale prices...looks like they are on the way out.
Out of a lot of things. Sort of a ghost town.
Prices good and it has. You know. Like if you want stuff they got it. They got big stuff, small stuff. Stuff everywhere. I got some stuff. Ill probably go get more stuff. Because thats what you these days. Gotta have your stuff.
A great store with a great collection of items from the cheapest prices. Televisions, appliances, computers, car stereos & everything in between. Good high end stuff too. Sign up for the promo codes on their website & they email you super-fly deals. Good coffee shop & DVD selection also.
They have nothing on the shelves! Such a shame as it used to be a great store. Been this way for months and its getting worse. Ive asked them whats going on and get various answers but the end result is surely going to be closure which is really sad.
This used to be a great place to shop for electronics. But lately i feel like they dont care if you are there or not. No employees come and find you to help and if you do try to find one they are so busy talking to other employees that you can barely get their attention. Tried to shop for a new small tablet, most of the ones on display didnt work and lots of signs for models not out to look at. Just walked out the door without buying anything.
I get my ink cartridges filled there cuz they can do it while you wait and theyre pretty much cheaper I think than anywhere else I found. They have computers, stereos car stereos, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, dryers, refrigerators you name it they probably got it just about. Only thing I didnt like there was their warranties on washing machines and dryers poor service.
Was there to buy a printer and asked a salesman a question told me hed be right back so Im waiting he passed me three times each time helped other people. So I left went to best buy found the printer I liked for cheaper and was actually helped by a sales person. Go figure
Was here a few days ago and I had to ask if they were going out of business. Shelves are darn near empty. Very sad. They used to have everything.
A wonderful place for hard-to-find devices and components, with a fairly knowledgeable staff. Beware using a credit or debit card (I try to use cash) for items having a high return rate or those having a Reduced Price as these are mostly returns, many of which are defective, and the staff is instructed to return the items to saleable inventory. Check item and package for a defects.... Prices can be very competitive and Frys has an email-based rewards and Daily Deal sale that can save you real money if you happen to need that item on that day!
Surprised to find the place empty. Hope they are not in trouble. I have always found what I needed for electronics there. Great customer service in the store.
Always have what I need and customer service is always good and they were rocking heavy rock for the sore music! Classic!
The store is open, but there are alot of empty shelves😥
Yeah we go there for electronic needs but lately theres nothing there more online because of whats going on we think
Big, well-organized, and stocked out of its mind. You’ll find everything there, including many things you hope you find the willpower to save up for. Ask an associate for some directions, and pick up all the supplies you need to plug back into the world.
I really like the reasonable prices. Store is clean and organized. I would have given 5 stars if staff was available to help a bit more. I feel like I always have to track someone down and they always tell me to wait a minute and someone else will be right with me. Overall, a great store with great competitive prices. I am glad there is one nearby now and I dont have to drive 1 hr or more to buy what I need. :)
Love buying the things I dont need from here
Where did all your products go??? Shelves were empty, I thought you were going out of business!! I love this place! You need better sales to keep ppl coming in though. What happened???
I love this place. Its huge and has a great selection of childrens science kits. A lot of the toy aisle shelves were empty when the went, but they were probably rearranging for holiday season.
I like this place a lot. From audio cables to RAM sticks and video cards to microwaves and toasters, I can go to this place when I want something that will last a while and id at a reasonable price. Heck, I even found a pan that I still use to this day. This particular location has some great employees who help with a smile on their faces (something other stores fail to do). Great place for finding that one useful thing you might need. Lol.
This was once my go to store for all things electronic. Unfortunately rather are a shell of what they once were with little to know inventory and a staff that knows almost nothing about what they sell and do not know how to provide customer service.
Great for everyday electronics.
Decent selection of products but overall the shelves are looking pretty empty decently.
No one ever offers to help and they most seem to avoid talking to customers. They seem to be asocial. This is another reason why I now shop on-line instead of opting for the store experience and why I rather shop at Best Buy.
Although this Fries electronics store is not themed like the ones in the LA area, it has all the parts and goodies did any computer guy needs, and now its turned into more of a specialty store with every Appliance under the sun, including the big appliances, a wide variety of beds, massive selection of TVs, sound systems to please anyone, computers laptops and more, its hard to walk out without purchasing something. Beware theres so much fun stuff in here and you got to have some of it.
Frys is what it is. A huge selection of electronics at reasonable prices. Where Frys consistently misses the mark is with the support staff. I cant tell you how many times Ive been lied to, right to my face, about what a product actually does. I prefer to shop without the help of sales reps whenever I can. If they could ever get their staff issues figured out, Frys would be a electronics retail worth contending with.
This is one of the only places that my husband and Dad love to go to for their electronic needs. The problem with Frys is that they have never had decent customer service. It is very difficult to find someone if you need to ask a question and if you are fortunate enough to find an associate, you are often met with an attitude. If they dont have an attitude the chances of them actually being able to answer your questions is still slim to none. Just the other day we were there looking for an Action Tech Screen Beam unit. We were right by the display for them, but were having a hard time seeing what we were looking for. We only saw a box that had 2 units in the box, but we were looking for a single unit. So, we decided to ask one of the sales associates if they sold the single units anymore and we were told, in a very rude and abrupt tone, that they do not have single units which was strange since we had gotten a single unit here before. After our frustrating experience with the associate, we decided to investigate the shelves ourselves and sure enough, we found a single unit right below the 2 pack. If only we had searched more thoroughly we wouldnt have had to deal with that kid that didnt have the time of day to help us properly. The unfortunate thing is that this is a regular occurrence. We dont go there all that often, but when we do it is almost always the same type of experience. At the very least, the employees should have a handle on the products in the areas they are assigned to. For that matter, if you could just get one of them to drop the attitude long enough to help someone, your business may not be suffering the way that it is.
