I recently sold a diamond solitaire. Richard was the first person I consulted. He was kind, honest, and he gave me a very fair offer. He was confident enough to tell me his offer would be the highest but I was free to consult other buyers. I shopped the diamond to five other buyers. Richards bid was the highest by a significant amount. Another buyer offered to match Richards bid (after I told them the amount of his bid) but I returned to sell the diamond to Richard due to his honesty on the initial bid. Absolutely incredible craftsmanship! For years, I have had an affinity for sunflowers. Theres a bit of religious symbolism in the sunflower for me, so my fiance decided he wanted to make me a sunflower engagement ring. It was quite a challenge considering the detail that needed to fit on my tiny finger (size 5) without overpowering it. Marsha and Richard were up for the design challenge though. Every petal is uniquely shaped 14K yellow gold, with a weaving flower stem band and seven pave diamonds for the center seeds. It is stunning. And pictures dont even do it justice because it loses the glitter effect that the collection of diamonds have. The wedding band took just as much talent! Marsha had to create a shadow band that organically wrapped the back side of the flower and band with these itty bitty, beautiful diamonds. Quite the feat! I am beyond wowed by their work and the generosity of my fiance to make this unique ring come true. And! they are wonderful people. We loved collaborating on the design with them. Will definitely be coming back to them for any other custom jewelry design challenges!

For me, if a jeweler states something needs to be done to keep my rings strong and beautiful, I take their word for it, they are the expert. About a year ago I had taken my 47 year old wedding rings to be re tipped in a little MO town that I had heard about on the radio. After 2 unsuccessful trips to his shop, I decided I must retrieve my rings although I had paid for the poorly done repairs. He then rudely spoke behind my back while I left. My rings left his shop with porosity on the tips now. Since porosity makes tips weaker, I was devastated! I now could NOT safely wear my beloved rings. I researched porosity and thankfully found Richard and Marsha who have the experience, knowledge and correct equipment. You will be sooooo happy when you call/meet them. They are super people to work with and feel like friends the first time you see them!

The Dolgin crew built an absolutely phenomenal engagement ring, including finding us an incredibly stunning Asscher-cut diamond. It was all built virtually using their cad-cam platform to get down to an incredible level of detail before casting. The end result was perfection. Were already back in touch to source wedding bands.

The work may be fantastic but Mr. Dolgins interpersonal skills leave much to be desired. I was greeted at the door with a frown. After a minute or two of looking at my ring, he told me he was not interested in taking on maintence or inspection of rings not purchaced from him. He explained his perfectly reasonable policy of not touching jewelry he himself had not sold (soldering, modification). I then asked if he would take a minute of his time to locate the GIA inscription on the girdle of the stone so I could confirm the correct stone was sent. He did not want to and made it clear that they were very busy & left the impression that I was not worth his time. It is a shame he left no room for future business, for example suggesting the stone could be reset into a setting of their design when they were not so busy.When I explained how I felt in a reasonable manner (my 2 year old son was on my hip) he raised his voice and blustering repeated their policy. I admonished him for raising his voice in front of my child where he then proceeded to childishly state that he did not in a very unbecoming tone.Overall our interaction was disturbing and I left on the verge of tears. Sad as I was so excited to meet him & was looking forward to forging a relationship with a new independent jeweler as ours has retired. Shame, my families future business is certainly not going to be with him and we love our bling!I look forward to finding a jeweler with better people skills.A week later.....For shame ,Much like the beautiful gems he works with, only appearances matter. Apparently honesty with himself is also not his strong suit. My well behaved unsupervised son sat in the chair next to me or in my lap the entirety of our visit. He was never given the opportunity to wander much like Mr. Dolgins reply implies. He reached for a crystal candy vessel once and was calmly rediredcted by me &  then transfered to my lap thereafter.I was very careful to not let him touch any glass display to avoid fingerprints.His response is a poor attempt to deflect blame for his unprofessional outburst.Update: I found an amazing jewler who is designing me a new custom engagement ring & wedding band. There are jewelers in the Kansas city area with better people skills.

After taking my grandmothers original wedding ring to another jeweler in the area, I was very discouraged, as I was told nothing could be done to restore the piece due to its age and fragility. I took a chance and brought the ring to Dolgins and am so pleased that I did. Richard first looked at the ring and expressed concerns about the piece, not wanting me to pay for repairs on a ring I would still not be able to wear - honesty I truly appreciated. Marsha was able to come up with a plan, however, and, because of it, I have the honor of wearing a 60+ year old family heirloom that otherwise would have stayed in a box. We brought in my fiancees engagement ring and wedding band, initially, to just be replated and adjusted. However, after Richard and Marsha examined them it needed a lot more work. I had an heirloom set thats over 50 years old, and needed so much more TLC. So we let Marsha do her magic to them, at ease that they were going to do an awesome job. A week and a half later (a week ahead of schedule), we got a phone call from them that the rings are ready for pick up. The rings looked beautiful, even more beautiful than we remembered leaving it. Based off the information supplied for his buying jewelry I came in to see about selling our rings. It is nothing like they describe online. No consultation or added advice as stated. Simply an incredibly insulting lowball offer. $450 for a ring last appraised 8 years ago when the market was bad for $6k. Hmmmm what a waste of time. FYI he also claims my .74 carat solitare was .4 carats. Buyers and sellers BEWARE!
