I could not be more pleased that we found A Better Way Therapy for my daughter! I called late afternoon on Memorial when I felt at a loss. To my surprise, someone answered and had us set up with an appointment with Eboni Merrill the following week. Eboni has been a blessing for my daughter! She has been incredibly flexible with my ever-changing schedule and most importantly my daughter felt almost immediately at ease with her. I would recommend A Better Way Therapy to anyone!

If you as a person/couple/parent of a child who is in need of honest, caring, respectful counseling this is the place for you. I am that person who sees one of there amazing counselors. Also that parent that is having issues with my children who also sees a amazing counselor. I have also received couples counseling from A Better Way.As a recovering addict A Better Way has taught me the tools that is needed to succeed and stay clean.

I’ve been seeing Carole for over a year now and the amount of great changes I’ve seen in myself is directly because of her efforts. She’s helped me so much in feeling validated and in control of my life again. When I first called her I was crying after a panic attack, after working with her I have them significantly less often. I couldn’t ask for a better therapist!——While my original statement regarding my therapist is true, I’ve changed my rating to a 1 star and here’s why.The company “A Better Way Therapy” is ridiculously unreasonable when it comes to billing. First being they’ll never send you a statement stating the cost of the appt. until you have a balance. They insist you call your insurance for what you owe for the appointment, which makes sense...to a point. There’s no transparency on what the cost of the appointment is EVER. So in the middle of the pandemic when they hiked their rates up and didn’t notify me, I was left with a several hundred dollar unexpected bill. The cost of my appts. we’re originally ~$100 but during the pandemic my appts. Cost $145. Everything had to be done virtually but that rate increase should have been disclosed and it never was until after I received the bill. Now I’ll be fair and say the pandemic got tricky and my insurance covered my appts in full until a few months into it and then it resumed regular charges. The cost then assumed by myself/insurance was the rate of $145, which again was an increase to previous costs and was never disclosed with me as a customer outside of my insurance. I’m a very busy person and so the change caught me off gaurd. Things happen. But when I called to set up a billing payment plan it was difficult to get the individuals information for billing. They don’t even provide her number on their billing statements. While you sign an agreement when you come on as a patient that says they don’t do payment plans, but they also say they don’t do collections, until they want to send you to collections.Overall they’re really inconvenient and unprofessional when it comes to billing and cost transparency of their services. As amazing as my therapist was, I suggest you do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache and find another therapy company.Your therapist should be helping you, not being counter productive and causing more stress in the middle of a pandemic with billing issues. And before anyone says anything- I understand the billing is my responsibility and the cost isn’t the issue as much as the headache of policy and procedure here is. I’ve been with them for 2 years or so and never had an issue because I never had a bill, but the moment I did they made it really challenging during a time when people are already financially strained. It’s a f***ing global pandemic for Christ’s sake and you don’t have flexibility of billing?!

They have helped us understand our son better and how to help him. Rob has helped us be better parents and be better versions of ourselves, as we grow as a couple and as parents.

Dont even bother looking into them. They clearly dont understand how insurance works. They dont care to listen to their potential clients when they explain the process. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else.
