Solid Rock redid our hard wood floor recently. It has made a WORLD of difference in the appearance of our home. We had old oak floors throughout the home with carpet over and when we removed the carpet it was a few years before we were able to get the floors refinished. Joe and his crew timed it perfectly for us and were able to get the remodel done on the week we were out of town with our family. They arrived as expected and completed the entire project while we were away without any setbacks. When we arrived home to our newly refinished floors they looked BEAUTIFUL. Joe and his team made the needed repairs and the stain turned out as we had hoped. He stayed true to his original bid as well and was pleasant and kind to work with throughout the process. We would highly recommend!

I had a weird project and a tight timeline with removing a load bearing wall. Joseph was awesome he gave me all the info I would possibly need and beyond. Their bid was reasonable, the work was done perfectly, and the guys are professional. I don’t know what more you could ask for in a contractor. 100% will use them in my next projects.

We moved to KC and immediately began searching for contractors to renovate our newly purchased (but older) home. We initially interviewed several and were not convinced we wanted to hire any of them for one reason or another. My designer came across Joseph and our search was over immediately after meeting him and his workers. Joseph and his crew are professional and trustworthy. He is straightforward and honest - something that is very hard to come by when working with some contractors. On top of that, he is very pleasant and kind. We hired him to complete a major master bed and bath renovation, but ended up expanding the scope to remodel most of the rest of the house (new windows, roofing, hardwood floors, custom cabinetry, exterior stucco, painting, and electrical/lighting.) Our project was large and got even larger as it progressed. As is common with an older home, issues came up along the way. Joseph handled everything with patience and the utmost professionalism. He is very easy to work with and clearly cares about his clients and making them happy. We’ve been in our home for about a year now, and are so grateful with the final product due to the work completed by Joseph and Solid Rock! Went to the 2018 American Royal Center KC Remodel and Garden Show looking for a contractor specialist that could rescue the 105 year old wood floors in my recently acquired home.Joseph So was able to come out to the house in a timely fashion and do an insightful inspection.Although my house and repair area is smaller than a lot of his work, he caught a vision of excellence to come in the total structure renovation and was able to dispatch a work crew a day before schedule.The team was clean, communicative, polite, steady, careful and meticulous.Very happy with the results and highly recommend Solid Rock Custom Construction, especially for older wood floor restoration and repairs.

We hired Joesph and his crew to replace some walls in our basement, that had gave us problems for years. Now our basement is water tight!! Even with the recent heavy rains, our basement was completely dry!! Will hire him & his crew for any future projects!!

Solid Rock Surfaces LLC installed my new granite in June of 2015. I had an initial in home consultation with Joseph. I was very pleased with his knowledge and the time he took to make sure everything was properly surveyed and measured.I have installed granite in two previous homes, so I am knowledgeable to a certain extent. I had Joseph bid for painting my exterior of my house. He had a very good price. He was honest and straight forward. His painter did a fantastic job even with my high expectations. He found rotten wood and at fair price, fixed all the problems around the house. I will be using him again soon for my deck replacement.

Great job. I had Joseph bid on a relatively small exterior painting job including all of the second story soffits and fascia that I wasnt comfortable reaching. Power washed, replaced some rotten wood, caulked, and painted everything. Very good communication as we had to work this in between some rain. Crew was very nice and hard working. I thought the price was reasonable and overall a good value. Id certainly recommend for future work. Thanks.

Solid Rock Surfaces installed a granite counter for us at our church. I met the owner for the bid, got the bid sent to me without having to follow up to see where it was, the price was fair, the installers showed up on time and were courteous and professional, and the granite looks great! As I type this, I am actually arranging a time for the owner to come and give me a bid to do granite in the kitchen of my home. So just the fact that I am willing to be a repeat customer should say enough about what I think about Solid Rock Surfaces.

I had almost 1000 square feet of engineered hardwood flooring installed in my home. My wordwork was a mess when the crew left. Some of my walls were a mess. Joes painter made a very half-hearted attempt to fix things and tried to say all the damage was there before the installation. I decided just to pay up and hire my own painter to complete the job. My husband and I are busy people and decided arguing with Joe and having his painter come back and forth was just was not worth the time or energy. As far as the actual floor installation I would not recommend. When hiring this company make sure to take a lot of before pictures. Joe went to law school, youre going to need to prove your case!

I hired Joseph and his team to new flooring in my house and was not satisfied at all with the work. His guys that he contracted to put the flooring in, hit my walls with their floor stapler with it leaving dents, marks on my newly done cabinets, etc. They dropped the floor stapler on my prefinished flooring that left dents all over my new floor because they were rushing through. They put finish nails in areas that were not supposed to be put in according to the flooring store i bought the material from. I will never use Joseph again for the lack of caring of the damage that i pointed out to him.
