I had no idea a knife like mine could be this sharp. It is a rather thick heavy duty hunting knife that I could never get a good edge to. Now I can literally shave with it. Like … just to see if I could.Absolutely recommended. Grant is fast, friendly, affordable, and puts a good finish to the edge as well. Only place I am taking my knives from now on!Even included a picture as proof 😂

Grant did a great job of sharpening my vintage Sabatier and Wusthof carbon and stainless kitchen knives, and at a very reasonable price. I used to take my knives to a place I trust, but the waitlist got too long, and then they cut back their services. Its also good to know that hes dedicated to taking off as little steel as possible, and you wont get back your knives ground down. Whether you simply want your knives sharpened, or whether you are a knife geek who is very particular, you will be happy with this service. Highly recommended.

Grant did a great job sharpening a 25-year old set of Henckels knives, that I had never had professionally sharpened before. Easy to schedule with him, very knowledgeable, and fast turnaround. A pleasure to work with!

Grant (Oakland Sharp) did an incredible job sharpening our kitchen knives. (I’m lucky my finger tips are still intact so I can write this review). I even had him resurrect several old pocket knives and a gunky Leatherman which came back cleaned, oiled, and both blades wicked sharp. His pick-up and delivery coordination was simple and efficient. He’ll even leave you a good loaner knife so you can get them all sharpened at once.

What a fabulous find and finally, what a relief! I have brought my kitchen knives, kitchen shears, sewing scissors, and Felco garden pruners and Italian long handle loppers from place to place in the East Bay and have never been happy. The kitchen knives come back and they just arent sharp, the serrated knives cant be serviced, garden tools only at one place with a five week wait .... you are stuck. For the past few years, I have circled back and forth in frustration between, Hida Tool, Someones in the Kitchen, and Golden State. I need my stuff taken care of so I can actually use them and I dont need my tools damaged. In frustration, I found Oakland Sharp on Google. It is a great local friendly family run service. All of my items from the serrated kitchen knives to my Italian garden pruners were all sharpened with care in 24 hours. Fast, friendly, convenient, professional and at a reasonable price. I highly recommend Oakland Sharp!
