Laurel Hill Auto will be the ONLY place I will ltake my car as long as I live in CT. My father was a mechanic before he retired so I have a pretty high standard for what I expect in car repair. Laurel Hill Auto has been the only place since my dads retirement that has met my standards. Their service is quick, efficient, and professional. Most importantly, they dont look to nickel and dime you and wont go around manipulating you to pay more for stuff you dont need. MARK IS HONEST and clearly cares about his customer base and his profession. Thanks for all that you do, guys!

Laurel Hill Automotive treated me, like a King! I went in there, for my first Service, since purchasing my 2017 Ford Explorer...My vehicle had 14,000 miles, when I bought it, now has 20,000. Mark treated me decently, respectfully, and did NOT assume I knew nothing, about my own vehicles maintenance schedule, and recommendations! He took care of my vehicle, and got me back, on the road, in about an hours time...This place STAYS busy, all day long, so I HIGHLY recommend making an Appointment, for Service!Well done, to Mark, and the Team, for taking me on, as a New Customer, yet making me feel, like theyd been Servicing my Vehicle, for YEARS...Like we were Old Friends, just met!EDIT:The owner of Laurel Hill Auto followed up, with me, via Google...I will, DEFINITELY be bringing my Explorer back, for Service, when necessary! Went in there for an oil change initially, Toyota truck with an engine light on for two codes:right front speed sensor and p420, no leaks. Just to be clear Ive had 2 separate mechanics look at the truck about those codes. Truck was driving solid.Came out with a bill of $1867, 3 leaks: transmission, power steering, and coolant. Truck feels shaky.They replaced the intake manifold gasket for a $120 for the part where the original Toyota part is $28. They also replaced valve cover gaskets, engine belt, spark plugs, brake pads and rotors (NOT calipers), power steering pump drive belt, rack and pinion boot kit, and transmission service, and wheel alignment or as they call it alignment of tires.Brought it back to try and fix the transmission leak since, still leaking after their second attempt. To resolve the issue I had to go to the dealer and have them install the pan properly. They told me it was leaking from the filter and the pan has been misshapen from being mishandled.If you have never done a transmission service in a Toyota truck, say you cant do it and dont build your experience on my truck.Engine light comes back on after 10 days,but this time with a new transmission code for solenoid malfunction.I knew better not to have them work on my truck again since I found cigarette ashes and plastic caps from oil that they used to fill under the hood indicating sloppy work.Bottom line is, they got dealership prices without the service, amateur mechanics, my truck was worse overall after they touched it, he did not inform me about half of those parts he was putting in,and they cause me more financial inconvenience then ever, since I have to go back and fix up whatever they touched.Save your money, you are better of with an oil change at Walmart, they are more professional.Jorgo Butlevski

I hate to post a negative review when the ppl are there are really nice, but I also need to post my experience and warn others. I went there being proactive to get my radiator flushed out. I was told that they couldnt do it because there was a leak in the radiator. I had the car for about 6 months and NEVER had to replace anti freeze, no leakage in my driveway. They gave me a $500 quote. After having a really expensive experience w/ them previously, I declined. Wanted a 2nd opinion. Heres the kicker. My heat has not worked since I got the car back THREE MONTHS AGO. not only that, but they BROKE the cord to open my hood. Look, Im not destitute, but I dont have 100s of dollars to be throwing away. They still havent fixed my hood. They rigged it with a wire that now sticks out so I can open it. I even offered to PAY for it to be fixed. He kept giving my boyfriend the run around about the part. I ended up ordering one that was wrong offline and now cant return it. The time I went there a few years ago I went to get my wheel bearing replaced and ended up leaving with a 1200 bill for control arms and everything else I heard from others wasnt necessary. Just be careful and dont just agree when they tell u you have this n that wrong with the car. Get a 2nd opinion.. Im so disappointed because like I said the people are so nice that work there. But, shady business. And I HATE posting negative reviews.

Mark, the owner, is a great guy! I was frustrated at first because after being told Id get a call back once the mechanic was there to explain why I needed so much done, they never called me with updates on my car. After talking on FB messenger with his son he called immediately. Turns out they had my number wrong. They also updated their phone systems to digital on Monday which should prevent that in the future. What I was told over the phone on the initial call seemed like I needed more work done than I thought. Mark said I could come by and he would show me. I did, and he showed me. It was all legit. I have a decent knowledge about cars, which is why I questioned it in the first place. They know what theyre doing, and definitely are not trying to charge for work that does not need to be done. Very knowledgeable knowledgeable and nice staff all around! However, the mechanics are in their natural environment, dont judge what you see, and dont feed them! Again, great place, dont think I need to go anywhere else.

I really like Laurel Hill and Auto. I actually live about 30 minutes away and go there. I heard that they work on old cars and mine is 2002 and I want to try hold on to it as long as I can. I have had them work on my car for a few things. I have found them to be very honest. Very reasonable. I think the staff is very personable and Mark the owner takes time to explain the situation and what he feels is the best for the time for the vehicle. I have had a quote elsewhere and then went to him and he gave me different choices and all being more reasonable. I will continue traveling the half hour to see Mark and his staff at Laurel Hill. He even told me all about a rebate and made me money I wasnt even aware getting. Another time he told me about a recall that again until I looked into wasnt aware. Really like them very much and their service is quick and very reliable. Thank you!!!! p.s. to the person that rated it low and said he charged double....sorry but I dont understand how that could have or did happen. One time just for a difference of $20 that it would cost me more then originally quoted they called me to tell me so there would be so surprises. I think something is not right on your explanation of things because in all the years I have ever gone to fix car would they ever charge you double and not let you know. I definitely would not think Mark would do that at Laurel Hill.

Experts in their field shouldn’t have to look up YouTube videos on how to properly do their field of expertise. Saying “it’ll be done when it’s done” to a customer that has had their car in your shop for 24 days out of a 40 day period due to “not knowing when we can get to it because it’s been really busy” does not work for most consumers. If you like being told your car is ready to be picked up, dropping everything to go pick it up because you’ve been waiting for 2 weeks, only to arrive and have the car still be broken and no technician in sight to provide a reason as to why, come on down!If you would like to pay for parts that don’t need to be fixed on your car and have your mechanic “create” more work because he didn’t know how to fix the original issue in the first place, this is the right place for you! If you just recently came upon a sum of money and would like to pay twice the industry average only to have more problems pop up down the line, step right up!

I am with dz on this. Started off good as you will see in one of my earlier reviews but ended up getting screwed out of thousands. I am only writing this to save others from the financial strain this garage has put me through. When I confronted them with what I felt was wrong doings, I was offered zero recourse. So I have a 2005 Chevy impala. My car was towed there on Oct 11 2019. I was told the next day I needed an alternater a belt and battery. I said no problem. I get a call back and they tell me it was going too be 752 dollars and56 cents. I was very surprised. A few months before that I needed a caliper bolt and was charged 107 dollars. I will not recommend anyone. I feel like I got screwed and on top of that they charged me a 14 dollar shop fee. When will this end. It is so hard too find a trustworthy mechanic. Thank U for ur response.. So an alternate not even new a rebuilt ... A belt and a battery. The labor on an alternate is on top very easy. Talked too several mechanics. Napa parts or no Napa parts 550 too 6 hundred the most. Will not get my business and will not recommend too anyone

They put wrong size battery in my truck,lower cranking amps, told me I needed a battery come to find out I need an alternator. A decent mechanic would know that.They do get work done but dont listen to customers or do it correctly, I wont ever go back there. Beware.

I have not taken my car to them, yet. But ~ here goes... Last week on 12/11/19 we had a snow storm, I drive a 02’ Liberty 4x4 and was headed into Norwich and as weather would have it I was sliding a lot! I could not for the life of me get my car to stop sliding into the curb. A gentleman pulled up in a truck with a plow on it (mind you at least 10-15 people with trucks drive by and ignored me) opened his window asked if I was ok ~ nearly in tears i said no. He parks his truck, gets out jumps in and as he doing so i feel like I should mention hey my back tires are brand new my front ones are not. He says ok and jumps in fixed my direction got me over the hill I then asked how he explained the 4x4 that he used in 4Low I explained that I did not know how to use it YET (the car is for my daughter I wa testing the engine and was learning it myself so no judgement) plus I do better in front wheel drive winter tires as 4x4 gives you 4 wheels on the ground but it does NOT have any more braking power and makes drivers feel safer than they actually are in to heavy SUV 4x4s. He said he wished he had more time to teach me more. It just wanted to make sure I could get home then turn the 4x4 off after the snow fall ends. He explained where his shop was and the name; he also let me know to come one in to get my front tires switched out. (He wasn’t pushing his business down my throat I need new tires it’s obvious they have tread but not winter standard level dress depths) I stated I wish I’m not in the financial position atm but that I would like too ASAP ~ he then stated that I could of course use used tires that he would find in wonderful shape, also taking time to note that we could “get it to the right price while getting quality used tires but more importantly having safe tires and he pretty much said me ”making a less $$ to keep you safe is worth it to me”He owed me nothing; he was a stranger and e stopped to help. He didn’t do it to plug his business he did it to be a kind decent human being! He will get my tire job and any other repair job I need! Without question! This is how a business owner should act during business hours and outside of them too. Thank you!!!

I am posting for my mom who is 80-something years old who was having trouble with her car windows not going up and or down. She went to two garages for help on recommendations from other people, neither one even looked at the car, one of them made an appointment to go back at 2 pm and the other just told her to come back, neither one would give her any idea what was wrong or how long it would take to fix nor how much it would cost. She decided to stop at Laurel Tire on her way back home from the last garage and she explained to the man what was wrong, he took her keys, went somewhere with her car and came back and told her youre all set. He had fixed the front window which was the one she was concerned about because it was stuck half way down at this point, but all her windows are not working properly. He showed her what was wrong and told her it would take about a half hour to fix the others, he asked when she wanted to come back and she said whenever it was good for them, then he said, we are here to serve you, when do you want to come in? (when is the last time you heard that ?!) The price he quoted her was a lot less than either one of us imagined! She asked me to post something to let everyone know about the excellent service she received and to highly recommend Laurel Tire if you are looking for excellent service at a reasonable cost.

First and foremost, I want to thank the wonderful, accommodating staff at Laurel Hill Automotive. Jody is the absolute best! Not only did she fit me into their schedule quickly, she worked with me on keeping my bill under $1,000, even after they kept finding more and more wrong with my car (this car has had several issues, so I wasnt surprised when she called to update me). She was friendly, and even hugged me when I showed up to get it after it was fixed! Shes amazing, and a huge reason for why I am now a loyal customer. Its a little unnerving to move all the way across the country and have to find a new mechanic, but I will be taking all our vehicles here from now on. The staff did a great job, my car was noticibly better and finished by the end of the day! I also was given two copies of my receipt so that I have records of the repairs when I go to sell the vehicle, which is a huge help. Ive only had it for a day, so will post an update of this review to support the longevity and reliability of the repairs.

So scheduled a appointment yesterday for a front end alignment at noon today for $59.99 went in today at said time got told I wasnt scheduled for noon but 1230 so I went and got gas came back and waited until 1:20 to have my car brought in then at check out got the bill which was $85.07 instead of the $59.99 and the answer I got when I asked why it was more was o I messed up quoting you yesterday sorry. Ive been taking both my cars here for a while, since a friend of mine was a mechanic. My friend went on to another job but i still took both my cars here. At one point my Power steering function began to fail, and i took my car in. The owner was really down to earth, kind and without charging me a dime told me what was wrong gave me some higher level fluid free to hold me off till i could afford to get the work done. Once i had the money they fixed it for me and still knocked a hundred plus $ off the price since there had been complications. When 2 months later more things with power steering stuff went wrong, even tho the part that broke wasnt what they replaced and wasnt under warranty, they fixed it for me free of charge. This was a blessing since i dont know how i would have paid for it. They are honest and seem to really understand how hard life can be with these things
