Upper management really needs to reconsider their choice of supervisors, especially for the preload. READ: Kendra, Kenley, and Cheryl. Not only are the supervisors rude but they lack thorough micromanagement abilities, take credit for others work while failing to receive blame for their own mistakes if they can place blame on an employee, SEVERELY lack respect for employees that they are not biased towards, and they focus on blame rather than solutions and support. The lack of fundamental training for workers is also concerning and you can tell that the supervisors overcompensate for their own incompetence by singling out those who bring attention to inadequacies and discrepancies in the work process rather than show enough maturity to work towards solutions that facilitate teamwork, mutual respect, and ACTUAL competency rather than a facade of it. Its apparent that much of the work environment at UPS can be very toxic anyway but I wonder how much that translates into lost profits, a high turnover rate, and even decreased customer satisfaction???

Very inconsistent inbound delivery service. I own a small home grown internet business. Inbound packages are mis-delivered to my neighbors house all the time and vice-versa. NEVER the case with Fedex Ground. I dropped UPS and went with Fedex 7 years ago for outbound deliveries. Much better on outbound and inbound deliveries. Better customer service if theres a problem too. Between the 2 there is no comparison...go Fedex!!!

We had an issue with receiving a package after being told it was going to be delivered on Friday. Called and they said we could pickup today. However, we went to the city center and the rep, Tamika, said we could receive it Monday and it was in the container. I told her we were going out of town and she went in the container and pulled it for us. TAMIKA WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. This experience was terrible, but she was a Godsend. Thank you Tamika at City center Newport News!!

Paid an extra $20 to have next day delivery and all I got was a sticker on the door. Specifically marked no signature required and ok to leave on porch, but the driver didnt. Called customer support and got nothing but a computer. Said I was being transferred to someone who could help but another computer who said we cant help goodbye is all I got. Very poor customer service. Really needed that package today. Now nothing till Monday. Tried calling outlets but they couldnt help and hub had no incoming phone line.

For the 4th time Ive dealt with the incompetent drivers not even bothering to deliver my package to my home, but instead mark it as a failed delivery attempt whilst the security cameras say otherwise. Each time Ive called customer service Im told theyll report the problem and theyll notify the driver and each time I still never get my package. I absolutely hate this company and the drivers that lie and are lazy. Ive taken off work far too many times and missed pay to stay home and recieve absolutely nothing. Ive went as far as sitting in front of my home and have never seen a UPS truck near by and still recieve a failed delivery attempt notification. Its disgusting when you pay for a service, especially on a weekend and dont recieve it. The customer service always ask if I got a missed delivery slip and I always say if they left the slip that would imply they came to my home and I wouldnt be calling, right. These weekend drivers are lazy, they simply dont want to walk thru the building so they mark the mail as a missed attempt so that the regular drivers during the week can do it. Thats my assumption because it always happens on a weekend!

So easy to go in, use computer to fill out shopping details, go to counter for package measurements and payment. Packages arrived when they said they would. I prefer the customer center over USPS or UPS store.

Horrible customer service. The company sends text advising of upcoming delivery but the center pays no attention to this and refuses to work with their customers to make things come out all right. If I can choose another carrier when I have things shipped to my home, I do.

After UPS delivered 2 packages to my address, I was still waiting for 1 more important package that was time sensitive to receive. After getting a notice that the package wasn’t delivered because the address issue I called the customer service center where a representative told me that the driver said that my address didn’t exist (mind you I had 2 other packages delivered by UPS earlier in the day). After I confirmed that the address they had for delivery is in fact the correct address, they failed to reconcile their mistake by redelivering the package and making me drive out to their center with only 30 minute window of them being operational.1. If you make a mistake, don’t be lazy and come back to fix it.2. Stop lying. If you are going to lie, try to not sound stupid.

Package shipped from Amazon showed delivered. I open my front door and no package. Called UPS they inform me the package was left at Building 540 instead of my building 535. They advise me to follow up with my neighbor. I refuse to knock on a total strangers door and ask them for my package. The driver needs to return before his shift ends and retrieve the package.. Ive always taken a misdelivered package to the rental office for them to contact that resident. This world isnt like Mayberry.. Some people may take offense to your request especially if theyve already opened it and plan on using it. Now I have to file a claim with company and wait for UPS to pay the claim over a product I need now. Absolutely horrible.

They damaged a package the day of my delivery. Package was fine all the way from Washington state to Newport News, Virginia and then a hour after they was trying to deliver it got damaged. So they had to return it to sender. It was a birthday gift for my 6 year old grandson. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Not so much as an explanation or call to let me know what happened. Terrible customer service.

If I could give no stars I would, due to covid and decreased hours and wages in my job in the service industry, I took $1400.00 out of my 401k. It cost an extra $50 to get it expedited, it was last scanned reaching its its destin center here in Newport news, VA. Literally 3 mins from my house. Ive always worked 2-3 jobs took care of my sick dad who passed right after Easter, had to take mom in to live with me, most stuff is in storage, never received my check from my 401k yet it is 3 minutes from my house, through 4 days if calling, using there web service and going to the ups center myself , I finally was able to initiate a claim, its already 9 days after the fact and now it will be 8-10 days for their investigation, ie we are doing nothing, in 10 days we will refund the sender, you can never get a name or direct contact , you constantly have to call sit through the automated teller get transferred and hung up on multiple times, I have now spoke with literally 27 different people, this isnt a lost sweater or you, this is $1400 I had to take from my retirement to make sure bills are paid and my mom is taken care of, I took this money due to bills being due by the 20th of July, I should of had this check by the 15th at the latest ( paid $50 extra for expedited next day air) they have already cost me over $300 in late and nsf fees as my money should have been in my bank to pay, now have to wait 20 more days, of course UPS isnt refunding me that and the more fees I have to pay because they lost my money, means by the time I get it, Ill still be behind as it is now paying extra fees that is the fault of UPS, when I went to he distribution center I was told the only way they could find it was by searching the facility for 45 minutes and they cant waste the time doing that, really its here in your facility, it was supposed to be in my hands 8 days ago, are you ok if UPS doesnt pay you for a month no, you lost my money, you are costing me even more at a very difficult time and no one can help or give an answer, absolutely disgusting ,In addition it is now July 23rd, just spent hours on the phone with UPS and the sender if my check, for the past few days ups said they contacted the sender and could only talk to them and refund them after the investigaton, when I filed the claim I had to provide all of my info and the senders senders info, today I had to provide the senders info again as they did not have it so obviously they were doing nothing to investigate after contacting the sender the sender has heard nothing from UPSPublic service announcement : to many out there dont use UPS there service is horrible and they are robbing people blond during Covid, I had to pay $50 for the sender to get it expedited next day air ,13 days later no one knows where it is, but pay attention as you go to the UPS store you may pay $50/$100/ or more for expedited services, now when you go to ship something the teller not anyone tells you but in the website they claim that all guaranteed service is suspended due to covid, so you can pay $150 to send a package next day and it wont be delivered for 2 weeks, but no one tells you this they just collect all your money, so to all reading this we can set up a social media site for the 1000s of people who paid hundreds of dollars for false shipping and start a class action suit against UPS, yes it is hidden in their website that guaranteed delivery is suspended but when you just go to your local UPS and ship it isnt mentioned and they gladly take your money, stay informed, UPS is terrible

I never leave reviews, Im just not that type of person. However, I have had THE WORST experience with UPS today. I was scheduled to have a package delivered today and when returning home there was no package and an info notice saying they missed me. I WAS NOT REQUIRED TO SIGN FOR THE PACKAGE. I called and asked why my package was not left like it should have been and I was told that it is up to the drivers discrepancy to leave the package. I LIVE IN A LOW (NON EXISTENT) CRIME AREA. There was no reason the package couldnt have been left. The person on the phone told me I needed to go online and fill out a form to ensure the package gets left tomorrow. Or, I could come to this customer service center and pick my package up today. I LIVE AN HOUR FROM THIS LOCATION. Upset, I asked if there was another representative I could speak with. I was then told that he was the only representative with all of UPS that was available to help me. I requested that I be put on hold to wait for someone else and he suggested that I hang up and call back again... I called back to get guidance on what to do online, this representative placed me on hold and then HUNG UP ON ME. I called back a third time and was told they would request for redelivery today and that if its not here today I will definitely get it tomorrow. I was also told I would get a call back in an hour to let me know the status of the redelivery today. I was relieved thinking this issue had been solved, until... No call back. I then called back a FOURTH time and was told they are not able to redeliver today but would deliver tomorrow. If I do not get my package tomorrow I will be going higher up on the chain of command. Not getting the package is not my main concern, it was the TERRIBLE customer service I have received in trying to resolve this issue.

Twice now my packages haven’t been delivered (or even attempted) but marked as “sorry we missed you”. No package slip was left. I was home all day. I checked my front door camera to see nothing was even attempted. No one drove by, walked by, nothing. Last time they did this was with dog food I was having delivered and I had to wait for all 3 “missed” attempts before I could go pick it up from the facility almost a week later. UPS said GPS shows driver near my street yet he never came by.

The office next door is completely separate from my employers business (hint to the different doors and names) and he is constantly getting packages. Due to his profession, me not being employed by him nor a representative of his firm, and my lack of enthusiasm to be the person responsible for his packages I am not allowed (nor obligated) to sign for his packages. Every time I tell the delivery driver that I am not allowed to sign for them, that we are totally separate entities, I am constantly met with attitude and it is getting pretty old. Im not talking about every once in a while I am talking about every single time from the same person. Dont want to keep running back to the truck? Since he is almost never here when you deliver in the year and some change that he has been in the building may I suggested bringing your notice of delivery pad with you and leaving the gross attitude outside where it belongs?

I paid for over night shipping and it was delivered the next day. So everything is fine right?... No! They delivered it at 8pm which is when I am at work. (Still not their fault). So since I realized they needed a signature, I knew they we going to continue to deliver it while I was at work every day. So, to save time I put in a request for it to be held at the distribution facility so I could pick it up. What do you know!? It wasnt there! They looked all over the building just to tell me it was put back on the truck. I told them if that is the case they need to have it delivered before 2pm since that is when I leave for work. It was not delivered. Then as I was leaving for work I saw the driver who was supposed to be delivering my package. I asked him if my package was on the truck. He told me no and drove off. I called again on my way to work and was told that my package was on a truck to Suffolk. What the heck!? I live in Yorktown!!!! I asked I the package was going to at the building the next day. They said yes but to call before I drove over there to pick it up. I called the next morning just to be told they still dont know where the heck my package is. Which is why I am sitting here righting this review. Screw these people!!!!

Was amazing! I went in on a Friday night around 8:12 p.m. Was no line and there were 2 associates who were both friendly and amazing. Was in and out in 2 minutes....literally (I looked at my cell phone when I left for the time)!!! Most people who probably give a bad review probably go during the holidays when they are going to be super busy and not the most pleasant! It’s understandable! However any other day, like yesterday when I went, they were A1! 👍🏾👍🏾

No problems here! I know UPS centers get a bad rep at times for poor service, but this location is great as far as Im concerned. I always get my packages from there with no hassle, and a smile from the clerk. Great place to use as an access point for pickup if you know you wont be home for the delivery 🚚.

I came in to pick up a package after hours because the driver wouldnt deliver it to my house. After 3 days I was very aggravated and had them send it here. Right before Christmas and the sweet girl working was very helpful and as happy as I hoped. Hours are only 8-830 so thats kinda weird and very cold to stand outside until it opens, with a line full of people.

Let me go ahead and say that the dude who delivered my packages (two end tables and a coffee table) is a beast. I live on the second floor and all week hes had to climb the steps with some heavy boxes. I appreciate all you do man. The only gripe I have is that this guy had to carry these boxes all by himself. Most will know what I’m talking about; when you travel home and family members want to send items back with you. But then when it comes the time to pack the car, you find yourself with more items then you can fit in your car. I was overwhelmed with so many items that I needed to take back home with me. I decided to ship them ahead of me. I wanted everybody to know that the personnel who were there were very helpful and friendly. Before I came to the UPS CC Newport News, I read the review comments posted on the web. So I was expecting them to be rude, but what I found was that you can’t always believe the comments posted. You have to take them at a grain of salt. I don’t know if the person who wrote the review was having a bad day or just very demanding. All I can do is tell you what I experienced there. The person there was by herself out front and it was a little busy. She was very patience with me and showed me how to use the PC to send the package. I want to say thank you for the help with my package and it arrived the day she say it would.

Ups gives me a window of 1:30-5:30 for a delivery requiring my signature. I wait at home for the delivery. They didn’t deliver until 8:30pm. They could easily provide electronic updates. Ups cares so little about their customers. I hope stores look for other delivery services.

Terrible bad experience the place was closed but the gates was open and employees was closing the gate on customers stating that they was closed my package was delivered supposedly yesterday without a notice being left I had to track it to find out that it was already delivered and I wasnt there they said I could come pick the package up between 8:00 and 8:30 and if I couldnt pick it up Friday between 8:00 and 8:30 the center would be open from 10:00 to 1:00 on Saturdays I go there the signs saying that theyre open but theyre closed even customer service on the phone told me theyre closed I lost a lot of money Im very disappointed

Customer clerk was not at the counter at the time I entered the store due to assisting another customer but failed to acknowledge myself and another customer that walked in after me. No one else was able to assist us. I waited over 20mins. This was a huge inconvenience on my end when I made the necessary arrangements to get here before closing. This place is terrible. A package was lost in transit. UPS claimed it was delivered at nearly 8pm. We were home, no courtesy doorbell ring or knock. After that UPS refuses to leave packages at the door. No big deal, I just get to go down to deal with the horrible reps at the Customer Center. One lady told me to sign a form or they wouldnt release my package. I asked her what the form was in relation to, she said she didnt know. Excuse me? Why am I signing something when you dont know what it is? She said her supervisor gave it to her for me to sign. I said get the supervisor out here. Instead of coming from the back I along with the customers who had already been there 30 minutes waiting on their package, could hear him saying just give him the package. So the supervisor was too busy to come talk to the customer. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this place like the plague! If you absolutely must pickup a package try to arrange to pick it up from a UPS Store instead. Theyre independently ran and this customer service tends to be of a higher caliber.

Somebody must be on vacation because every package Ive gotten in the last week has been screwed up. Poor communication on part of back office and drivers in attempt to resolve an issue. Best answers I got from Kim was I dont know. The driver couldnt possibly have known. and Whoever you talked to couldnt have known. I cant understand how somebody who works for UPS at a large customer center knows so little about their process and how it works - and if they dont know how their process works why theyre allowed to answer the phone to speak to frustrated customers that have been trying to receive a package getting kicked around Newport News for 4 Days. I figured it out. I know what happened. Poor follow up and poor communication. But Kim dont have time to sit on the phone and hear about it. Kims got everything under control. Kim knows whats up. Worst customer service. Ordered a package that was to be delivered on Friday and was informed it couldnt be delivered but it was available for pick up. Called customer service to verify and went to pick it up only to be told it was not available but it would be tomorrow. Called the NN store itself, not the 800 number, on Saturday and was told by Eric at Newport News the package was indeed there and ready for pickup. Waited in line for 30 minutes with the rest of patrons who couldnt get their packages because it snowed 4 days prior only to be told it was in fact in a trailer in Newport News but couldnt be unloaded.I understand that it snowed and this is not one persons problem, but as a company perhaps you should update the way your system reads so Im not being told its in Newport News and available when in fact it is just stuck on a trailer (why no one can get it off when Ive called multiple times and been up there twice is beyond me).

One person handling all the walk-in customers, including people dropping off packages for shipping and people picking up items is simply ridiculous. I would have given one star for such poor management, but the woman tasked with all of that did such a good job that the two extra stars are for her - I only wish Id gotten her name.Having to wait a half hour in line to pick up a box is insane given the automated tracking and handling UPS is known for, but somehow the management at this location has found a way to make the experience even more annoying. The layout, with the entrance/exit door in the corner diagonally opposite to the register means that once the line exceeds 3 or 4 people, anyone else in line causes the automatic door opener to keep the door open. When those people move out of the range of the doors sensor, anyone new who enters runs into the people in line as soon as they walk in. Moving things around and locating the checkout computer/register at the other side of the counter seems simple enough, but apparently the manager here is too simple to think of that. Or more likely, they just dont care. No matter the reason, if you can avoid this location you should.

Very horrible! They need to have more than 1 person working at a time. There arr three stations at this facility and 1 person looking for orders as well as taking them. I stood in line for literally 45 minutes while she searched for my package. Granted if you are picking up a package they should ALL be in one spot. Oh, Im writing while Im still waiting for my package. Do NOT have a package delivered without calling to make sure it is in clear site.

Everytime I have a delivery thru this location and the status changes to delivered there is no package delivered. It usually takes a day or two after they say its delivered that it shows up on my door step. I dont trust the drivers.

My package was held over a day in Baltimore so it was a day late and I had to reschedule my tasks to wait for it Wednesday. Delivery was attempted at 5:35 while I was at dinner. Today I have been here all day ... it is after 6 now. Might be as late as 8 pm. I am told we have to sign because our deliveries have been stolen. Never happened.

Came dropped off 10 lg boxes lady asked if I wanted a receipt, they were all pre paid with labels I said sure and help her scan the boxes. If you dont like the service or read other reviews there is a UPS store a couple blocks away, in with Food Lion and I think BB&T. I know if I have something going to TN, PA or SC I can drop it off in the morning and it will arrive the next day.

Ridiculous, lazy ass staff. Who take their time. I swear I could eat a full course meal in the time it takes them to handle one customer. Why dont hire someone who moves with motivation. Two hours of my day wasted. Because of your employees.

Had a manager fuss me out in main Libby in front of other customers because they could not find mg house and deliver my work information,thus causing me to not be able to complete my store audits for the week. It was not the first time they couldnt find my house and I had complained before. When I called the main number the lady I spoke with actually called back after she got off work and gave me an earful. This manager had had complains before and the District Manager refused to do anything, and that this manager was also very rude to the employees. Havent been back since and dont plain to

Very rude , sent wrong information of to where the package was located then last minute finally sent the correct address, I rushed to them from Yorktown to Newport News in 11 minutes 8:31 they closed and locked everything, I need that package for an important business interview..when they say 8:30pm it’s 8:30 pm no remorse whatsoever
