This was my first time getting a haircut in David’s Barbershop. My previous barber had to shutdown his business due to corona. My first experience at this barber shop was amazing. I wish I found this barbershop earlier. It’s very affordable and even though It was my first time, they treated me like any other customer. I had my cut done by Alex, by far the most professional barber I have experienced. I’m usually picky with my hair styles but he is the only one that’s able to perfect my cut exactly how I want it. I will definitely be a loyal customer and bring my kids here as well, I highly recommend this business.

Best Barbershop in NYC! I literally reside in East Harlem but I always take my car and do the 15 min drive to there guys cause they always provide excellent customer service since the first time I walked in 1 year ago! The wait isn’t bad but then again that lets you know how many people trust them and are willing to wait for them for their haircut!

This review is long overdo. To keep it short; I came to David’s Barber Shop after another local guy completely screwed up my hair. I chose this barbershop after reading the rave reviews and decided Shawn was the guy I needed to see. Not gonna lie, the fact that it was such a great price AND that he had cut hair for a few of the Yankees players didn’t hurt. I started coming solely to Shawn about 14 months ago; a strong testament to his ability in his craft. I have seen great work from the other guys as well and, honestly, would feel completely comfortable having one of them cut my hair should I visit on a day when Shawn isn’t in. Do yourself a favor and switch barbers, you won’t be disappointed. And tip your damn barber! If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that nothing is guaranteed. We take the smallest things for granted. Show some appreciation.

Do not come here if you are looking for a quality haircut. I heard that Shaun was the best. I asked him to give me a trim, shape up, and make my sideburns look presentable. He was unable to do so after four tries. Three very simple things even first year barbers should be able to do. When I came back to have him fix his mistake, he refused and had the nerve to tell me that he would charge me again for another haircut. Is this how you treat customers? He was more concerned about getting me out of the chair and taking my money than actually doing a good job. Horrible service. You get what you pay for. Go to Cutting Edge barber shop on 88th and 2nd instead and ask for Arthur. Nicer barber shop, better quality haircut, appointment based so no wait.

Davids Barber Shop is truly unbelievable. I have been going since 2014 and the quality has remained consistent. The haircuts are never rushed (unless you want them to be) and even then; the finished work is awesome. Price is very reasonable and the atmosphere is very welcoming. If you cant get a cut from Sean, dont worry! His team is well equipped and experienced to handle your hair. Ive been getting my hair cut here by Shawn for almost 5 years now. Im currently a sophomore in college out of state but I refuse to let anyone else cut my hair, despite not coming home often during the school year. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Every time I am there, I am treated like the only person in the place - even when it’s busy, Shawn and the guys take their time to give you the best haircut possible. I now live in Queens and commute into the city because of all the barbers I’ve been to in my life, I trust no one more than Shawn.

Today was the first, and the last, time I got a haircut here. When I walked in, I was seated immediately (good) and the lady who cut my hair continued to speak in Russian and laugh with her colleagues as she was cutting my hair, which she did very quickly and sometimes forcefully. When she was finished, I asked how much I owed, she said $18, and I gave her $20. She glared at me without saying anything. I picked up my bag and jacket, and as I was leaving, the owner said see you again, I said thank you to him, and I said thank you to the lady whod cut my hair, and she again glared at me without saying anything. I dont know what the heck is going on here, but I dont need to go back to this place again.

Amazing shop with many talented barbers. They work quickly and efficiently and there’s never a long wait even when they’re busy. Affordable and it’s the only place I’ll go in the city. You can get a $50 quality haircut for less than half the price.

I got a lot of wack haircuts before I found my barber upstate. Now I’m in the city and needed a barber on the East Side and David’s was one of the only ones with reasonable prices and a good rep. I’ve sat in almost every barbers chair and none of em messed up. Today I went in and thought I got stuck w the old dude. Hand was shaking and moved slow as a turtle. But he cut the fade like butter and cleaned up the top. So even if you get the old dude, you’re prolly set.

I am sad to have to give this place a one star review. My hair stylist did not listen to my instructions and cut my hair much shorter than I wanted it. He tried to fix it but instead kept going shorter and shorter.Edit:I have changed my review from one star to 5. The manager reached out to me and gave me a complimentary haircut to fix my hair.He did a fantastic job. Hair looks great. Everything was very well taken care of. Very professional, fast, and clean. I’m happy with the result.It’s unfortunate that this happened to begin with, but I am happy to see them take such professional actions to fix their mistakes.I think I will come back, because they did such a great job.

I am actually a regular customer here, as I live fairly close, and I had received good haircuts my first few times. I have since only been given haircuts by the less skilled barbers. I’m getting the sense that certain customers see Shawn, and the rest get shuffled to the barbers the other customers here are complaining about. I am finding this very frustrating and am starting to look for a new barbershop.Moreover, one of the older barbers was visibly irritated when I had asked him to adjust my haircut when he thought he was done. It became awkward when I didn’t realize there was a mandatory $3 tip (I gave $2), and he just like stood there looking at me. I had been back since to try my luck and be placed w other barbers.

For me to find a good barber is a project, to find a excellent barber is mission impossible, until one day i googled barber shops near me and found Davids. Great service, professional staff. I see here mixed reviews, so i have one comment: When at the barbers chair be VERY SPECIFIC and tell your barber what you want EXACTLY! most important find your barber and stick with him!!!
