I would give a ZERO if I could. I HATE this place. I went here for life long depression, while they continued my medications prescribed by my physicians for years, they constantly pushed for talk therapy. My son started going there for extreme anxiety that kept him house bound and every time they stopped him at the front desk about balances that werent even submitted to insurance yet and us parents were responsible for billing. In my opinion, after years of mental health care, they seem to want to add to problems to add on to their care and fees. They are the worst. Ive dealt with a lot and been to much better places that actually care about mental well being of patients, not just money. I used to be a financial services rep at a medical giant. Even with the power they have, we would NEVER treat our patients like garbage. Billing, is AWEFUL and in my opinion unethical!!!!

I was first seen in 2018. The psychiatrist told me that I was making up being bisexual, too influenced by my peers, was using racial slurs, diagnosed me with disorders I didn’t have, told me I was making up disorders I was already diagnosed with, and told me to stop taking my medication for three days as a tolerance break. I stopped going after that visit. I recently gave it another shot, just to be brushed off. I didn’t even go in a second time when my pharmacy told me I had been prescribed a new medication. I hadn’t even been seen by her! I called and I was told it was prescribed in error. My friends and family have had bad experiences at Nystrom. I will never recommend it and will tell everyone to stay away.

If I could give a zero I would in medicine maintenance. By far the worst place I have ever been to when it comes to weaning off of medication. No help so now I’m withdrawing from a psych medication and not getting any help. Please run as far away from this place as possible when it comes to medicine maintenance. However my psychiatrist that I talk to every two weeks perfect angel the best I’ve ever had. Do not recommend this place

I have gotten so much help at Nystrom. I started going to New Brighton location in 2011. I got so much help & was able to really look at my life in a new way, which was life changing. I did very well until life threw some big changes at me & I needed to check in with my therapist , which had been 4 years since Id seen her, and she had moved to new location. I was able to start back up with virtual meetings. This has been such a great thing, because I have again been able to see my same therapist, who knew my background. This has helped me in so many ways & I am so thankful!

If you are looking for therapy and too change your life nystroms is tge place for you.. my son goes to nystroms in New brighton for medication management he sees Charlie great experience. I have been with nystroma for several years I saw Jack Heinrich at new brighton best therapy experience my marriage failed but nothing to do with therapist my ex wasnt willing and kept leaving therapy. I was seeing Abigail fletcher at Ostego for individual therapy then I switched to the dbt program with Krystal f which was great it changed my life then I was going to continue to see Krystal after graduating dbt for emdr but we determined at this time it would not work for me. so Krystal took me to the patient care person and we worked together to see if Abby could see me back which I start back with abby on Monday. I have nothing but great experience with nystroms I also just started arms.

Most disorganized place ever. Its like the mental health system is intentionally obstructing peoples care.

I love this place. They have so many different types of clinicians. They have all been amazing. Lots of locations. Very nice people. Billing is a little frustrating. Make sure you are actually on a pay plan not just paying once a month or you get an outrageous finance charge.

Horrible service. Had a chemical dependency evaluation done two Fridays ago. I sent completed a release of information for myself and my PO and neither of us have received it. I have called the records office and the person who did my evaluation. Both are pointing the finger at each other. Total incompetence. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Unless you are looking to go in circles and get nothing accomplished.

I met with Amanda and, within the first visit, I knew I’d found someone to help me. I had read a review about some Nystrom places being “to preachy” and I originally looked elsewhere. I’m glad I met with Amanda. She is awesome. She listened, questioned and supported me from the very first meeting and she was determined to get me the help I needed. I entered the DBT program and my life changed. Thanks to Amanda, Rebecca, Jessica and Jade, I’m happy to be alive!

I scheduled an appointment for about 6 weeks out - which is normal, but then 2 weeks before my appointment they cancelled it. I called asking why I got an email saying my appointment got cancelled and talk to 2 people and neither knew why, so the second one scheduled it again.I got a phone call about a half hour later telling me it was cancelled due to the provider having a conference so I needed to reschedule. Why cant they call a patient to reschedule before cancelling the appointment in the system? That would avoid having patients be confused.I decided to look for a provider with better scheduling and cancellation procedures.

Horrible horrible place. My doctor recommended I find others who specialize in mental health because I need it badly. My first appointment I made the mistake of telling the physician they gave me I smoke marijuana. Now she refuses to prescribe me anything but depression meds. Including anxiety meds and ADHD meds. Both of which I need desperately. Every appointment she would constantly bug me about me smoking marijuana. If you have ADHD they will make you retake all the test and everything and will constantly drug test you. All this and yet I cant make an appointment on time because the links they send for you to connect video call never work resulting in getting talked down to by said terrible physician. I also signed up for therapy. Which I have to wait months for the appointments. They rescheduled the appointment several times resulting in more months of waiting. I have yet to meet my therapist or talk to her and yet 3 of my appoints got rescheduled. Funny how that works. Biggest waste of time iv dealt with in a long time. I could have spent this time with people who would try to help me.

I went to Nystrom because I felt like I needed help I had told the people there I did not want to enroll in the program until I knew that insurance was going to cover it. They told me dont worry about it insurance will cover it they always do come to find out 2 weeks later Insurance did not cover anything so now I was stuck with the bill 4 / $1,000 and that put me in such depressing that I went and relapsed and while relapse is a personal choice that personal choice would not have happened had it not been for their misguided information. This place deserves less than the star I gave them. I was generous.

Oh, they are something else. It would take too long to catalogue everything I would like to say. I was in the initial stages of going there, thank God, I woke up. I would not recommend that organization on my worst enemy.

I started seeing a therapist when I was getting divorced. I brought my son to see a psychiatrist and therapist when he started struggling with ADHD. At first everything was fabulous. Not long after, my sons doctor was no longer available. That meant another two hour consultation with a new doctor. This happened multiple times. They just stop seeing you and you have to begin the process all over again. This is difficult for kids that struggle with change. Some doctors were great, Johnathon, Amanda, Donna. Others were terrible, Annette and that one that didnt show up to a single appointment. Some wont write a prescription unless you see them every month, even when their schedule does not allow this, leaving you with gaps in your medication. Then when your child struggles with the ups and downs they tell the parent its their fault. Again, some are great but not all. Billing practices could be better and customer service at times is lacking.

I have received care and services from Nystrom years ago in the twin cities, and now in Moorhead. I have only experienced excellent providers. The therapy I have received has changed my life. My quality of life is much better now. When it comes to the DBT and the Therapy for PTSD, the best way to describe it is in terms of before and after. My quality of life after and since receiving those therapies has continued to improve and is better than it has ever been. I am doing so much better in all areas of life.There were frustrating problems with scheduling and billing years ago, but it does not seem to be a problem any more now.

I think it’s very unprofessional that they stopped doing waiting lists for programs like DBT so instead the person I spoke with today said you need to call sporadically and hope they have availability...Who runs this company?!I go here for therapy and it use to be good but lately it seems like this place has been run into the ground.

Started going to this clinic because it was the only one who had a provider that would see a child under 5 at the time. It is kinda long hail for us, and even though we could switch to Bloomington where my other son goes, the drive is worth it. My little guy has seen Elizabeth Abraham since he was 2 or 3. He is autistic, delayed and has sensory issues so doctor visits are usually something ti dread for us. However, Elizabeth is wonderful with him, never tries to push him past his limits and always listens to my concerns. She also makes sure to ask how I am doing, which is so nice! We have never left feeling unheard or like I wasted my time. The relationship she has developed with my son is worth the drive.

I started 3 years ago with medication help for depression....I got in fast when other providers had wait lists or were not taking a list. I had been depressed years before and knew waiting would only make it worse. The Nurse-Practitioner is positive and knows her medications and interactions. About a year ago I started with a therapist who is trained in EMDR. I was a bit skeptical but it has been very helpful. I am doing well and those close to me have noticed! Dont be ashamed, depression is just something many have and you are brave to tackle it! (I go to the Woodbury, MN clinic)

Extremely difficult to get records released....6minths n still trying

I have never been so disappointed with how a company runs, especially a established mental health care facility such as this. My significant other (engaged) had to do court ordered treatment and drug counseling, he did his chemical dependency evaluation at another clinic, and we tried to transfer his care to nystroms, moving forward. Not only did I personally drop off his paperwork, not once, not twice, not even three times, but four times I dropped his paperwork, they literally lost his information four times. due to covid i was not able to give the paper work to the office or front desk, so i couldn’t speak to anyone important. I had to give the paperwork to the lady taking temperatures in the front door. We called 3 time or more a week about this matter and no documentation was taken about our issue, no note or anything. Then he was told he needed minimal treatment by his CD evaluation and the court, witch equaled out to be a month of one night a week for 3 hours and a therapy session a week. When we finally got a hold of someone 4 months later a one month treatment program would have been fine, but nystroms told is that he had to do a 20 week, 3 days a week, plus therapy, which would have been fine when we started this process, but because this is court ordered there was a time limit he had to be finished by now regardless, HE IS GOING TO JAIL! So a huge F**K YOU, i mean thank you to nystroms for screwing him over. All i can say is think twice before you choose this horrible place. Oh and they take ZERO responsibility for any part in it.

Marei Benton is the definition of someone who knows how to do. her job and without her, my life would for surely be over. So if youre struggling with any disorder, she is the one that can & will help you feel better about yourself. Always know that there is light @ the end of the tunnel!

I still havent found psychologist and the way they told me I had to make appt and I was very depress she told me I can get u in next week, still very depress and bipolar meds Im addicted if I stop ,I dont sleep for days ,so thanks nystom.

Ive been treated very well by two different providers and they were able to find room for me where every other provider i contacted was not taking patients

Ive had one full phone interview with N & A so far and I am confident in their professionalism. I would have been seeing one of their psychologists already but I choose poorly to use an alternative local therapist which was unreliable for scheduling.The first psychology evaluation appointment I had scheduled previously with Nystrom & Associates was cancelled by me without sufficient notice.Most other medical practices would have charged me for the appointment but the woman to whom I explained my situation was very gracious and assured me that I would NOT be charged at all for the consultation. She gave me an open invitation to reschedule if my other therapist didnt work out and so I have done just that!--> I definitely recommend this practice to anyone searching for competent therapy or other services. I plan to update this review after several therapy sessions for my PTSD.

I used lauren nievinski to try to get some meds to deal with my anxiety and depression after suffering a heart attack. She wasnt sure what meds to prescribe me so she had to speak to her supervisor which is fine. She said she wasnt going to see her supervisor for 2 days. (I dont understand why she couldnt have phoned her supervisor instead of me waiting 2 days). We mutually agreed she would call me today to discuss my options but she never called me. Great customer service for a patient desperately needing help. I will not use her again, and probably will find a different provider all together. I was leery using this company seeing all the bad reviews. Now i know why.

I am a new patient. Had a web appointment with their doctor who doesnt work on-site. That was a little strange because she seemed more occupied by something else going on, but thought that it went well. That was on a Friday. She was to send my prescription to my pharmacy the same day. Today is Tuesday - no prescription sent.. and I have talked to several people at Nystrom and keep getting the same answer that she has sent it. So I called again and had to argue my point that they need to actually contact the doctor to find out if she had sent it. SHE DID NOT. Also, I cannot access my account on their app that they keep referring me to contact them with because THEY havent approved me to join their app after a week of waiting for that. When I went in on Monday for my first therapy appointment they handed me all of the same documents to fill out that I had done online and in person on Friday. They didnt have any of my information entered in their systems! I am giving them the benefit of my doubt and will hope to get better results with their program. I will keep you posted. They are constantly running late. Last time, they told me they were 10 minutes behind, took over 35 minutes past my appointment time. If a patient was that late, no appointment, plus a no show change?

Money matters over patient care. Been a patient for over 5 years. Have had 3 providers because they keep leaving! Cant even fill out paperwork without a 40 min. appt. Cant see me for almost a month. I had a full assessment for 2 weeks and feel that the results and the individual that did the assessments was good and accurate, but the administration was sub par. Among other front office issues and during the assessment process - although I had proper insurance the billing person came into the lobby and discussed payment issues in a very negative way - until I requested that we go to her office to resolve. It was difficult for me and unprofessional for any client I feel. Also, there was a couples counselor at Maple Grove several years ago that was the worst that we’ve ever experienced. We have found several outside of Nystrom since that have exceeded our expectations.

Said they would give me an intake call at 8:00 AM and someone would even call me before toVerify with me that someone will actually call me. It is now 8:01 and nobody has called

I was exiting the Dept of Corrections, where I had originally began CBT...Cognitive Behavioral therapy in 2 substance abuse based treatment programs...which were very helpful to myself by pulling me out of my comfort zone to truly wanting to better my decisions gone wrong in my life all the way from adolescent years, well into my adult years and changing and challenging my behaviors as well as thinking. I got into the Adult Day Treatment at Nystroms and completed that on my own doing, and now am currently graduated treatment and progressing onto Nystroms DBT program...Dialectical Behavior Therapy which is a 1 year based program...so when youve got the small minded still suffering individual...I just want to say there is a hope and a future in this world...and I have not Regretted none of whats gone wrong nor happened in my life because theres always a way to change or heal the wrongs it takes time and the effort to truly achieve and be free of all the traumas in life...PLEASE take the time to do it...we all deserve healing, happiness, peace of mind, and hope for our own individual future...I recommend Nystroms highly.🥰🥰

Have always had great experience with this clinic and have been a patient for a long time. I have never missed an appointment, and have good success with appointment scheduling. Recently I have received a bill for an appointment that I thought I had cancelled via voicemail. Kind of ridiculous. I know that its inconvenient for the providers to have No Shows on their schedule - but what good is a voicemail cancellation (on the phone tree) if it isnt utilized?

Had a first appointment today that was scheduled with a Kenneth a month ago for therapy. I was checked in by 10:07am so a little late on my end and was sent to waiting room 310. At 10:28 I walked down to be sure I was told 310 since it had be 20min l. I pointed out where it was to be sure. Yes, I was in the right place and was checked in at 10:07 so there shouldnt be a problem. The woman at the front desk spent 12 min trying to find him as he was not in his office or answering his phone or cell. At 10:43 they got ahold of him and he said I was not there and needed to reschedule. WOW! I told them noooo thank you! Front deck was apologetic but what he did was unacceptable I and I will not be returned to the place. I was already hesitant seeing a male therapists and didnt have a good feeling about it and I was treated this way. That was a complete joke and waste of my time.

Love the attention they give the clients. Whenever I have a problem or issue with anything, they will try to solve it right away or pass me off to someone that would know. The therapist I see there is amazing and we talk more like friends than just therapist/client relationship. I really have learned a lot about myself over the last few months than over the last few years on my own with some therapy.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Ueckers since 04. I followed him to NAL from another clinic he was practicing at. He is an excellent, top notch, outstanding physician. He has been one of the very few doctors Ive ever met whom Ive felt actually heard me; not just listened but truly heard what I was saying and, more important, what I wasnt saying. He has been willing to take unconventional approaches and if he feels your difficulties are beyond his scope he will not hesitate to say so and will refer you out to someone who may be able to help. I see a therapist here as well and she is wonderful. Katy Flynn-Higby. I feel that she really gets what Im struggling with.The front desk staff are some of the sweetest, kindest, most patient people ever. I feel for them; they get the brunt of a lot of peoples frustration and yet they still manage to treat me with courtesy and respect.I have been very satisfied with the care Ive received here thus far.

I have experienced a very helpful and caring staff. Furthermore, my psychiatrist is focused on helping me achieve the goals I want. Hes very professional and courteous to my needs.

Went in for an anger management eval, turned out pretty much as I thought it would. Things went pretty well. I will know more when I receive the results in writing as that is the reason for my visit.

I dont know why anyone says anything negative about this place - I have been going here for around 7 years for therapy and management for meds. I now drive almost an hour just to see my therapist Robin because I love her so much. Also the front desk staff is always more than friendly and welcoming. There is also often a greeter at the door welcoming you when you come in.

I see Jon and he’s fabulous. I know that not everyone is going to like their therapist here. My mom didn’t like her’s. But, I was lucky enough to find a good therapist here.

Polly was wonderful. She helped me to understand my meds and help me to sort out how to proceed.

This place is a joke. I was referred to Nystrom, by my daughters doctor, so I took her in for an evaluation, as requested. I spent a long time on the phone with scheduler, in order to ensure the person we saw would be covered by my insurance. We had an appointment and at the end of the hour, the counselor set us up to schedule more appts. I told the next scheduler that we were there for an evaluation, to which she replied, yes, you will get your evaluation, but he is recommending more counseling too. I said ok, scheduled 3 more appointments and left. The following day, I received a phone call stating they had made a mistake and that the guy we saw was in fact, not covered by my insurance. I told them how disappointing that was, but that I would still need the results of the eval. They said I would get those in a few days. Fast forward 2 weeks and no call. I called the office and was told I either needed to make a results appointment or fill out a release form, which could take weeks to get the results. I will NEVER return to this company. Other than the individual counselor, the whole thing has been a joke and a waste of time. All the while, my daughter is suffering and needing help.

For the first time in my life, I feel like I was listened to by a psychology professional. Tricia listened to me and took me seriously. I would recommend this facility to anyone. In my experience, they provide high-quality, professional, compassionate care.

More like a business than a place to get help. Always asking for a payment even though Ive told them we see trying to get a secondary insurance reinstated. Plus, they make their patients wait for quite awhile sometimes but dont have free WiFi. Time to get with the times!

Excellent place - very clean and modern looking. Staff is extremely friendly and willing to go the extra steps to help if needed. Clinician was very knowledgeable and attentive to my childs as well as my needs. Very impressed with the ability to make an appt and be seen with just a few weeks - which is difficult for a new patient at other medical facilities. I would recommend Nystrom to anyone who needs services.

It is a large psych mill or machine. It is OK for periodic med check etc. they are said to be Christian based but that only seems to show up on some faith based self help books (among others) but no where else in my limited experience. The New Brighton office staff is very nice and polite. They seem to staff with nubile pretty young women who are very polite and easy on the eyes.

I couldnt be more disappointed in my care here...My psychiatrist wrote my prescription wrong and disappeared for DAYS with no reply while I was without important medication.If you are on hold, after a certain amount of time they just hang up on you.They shut the nurse line off at 4 p.m., even though it says 4:30I have left FOUR messages and received zero calls back -- I always have to re-reach outThey seem unconcerned that withholding my medicine (which in part helps prevent seizures) is a serious health risk

Highly recommend great Professionals everywhere in all fields!! It’s so delightful to want to go to my appointment lol 😂 the staffing there VERY PROFESSIONAL & POLITE! It’s hard to train customers service it’s in ones self & attitude! The staff has that quality because listening is a skill not taught in school 🏫 it’s acquired by one listening!! Clean restroom clean waiting rooms just all in clean!! Mahalo!

I have had seen Vicky in the past for many years. The only downfall is the process it took to get back in with her after being gone for 3 years I think it was a waste of time and a long wait for me to get back in with her. With that being said she took great care of me as she has always done in the past, I am thankful to be back in with her. The office has NOT changed in the past three years since I have been there. Staff treats you well for the most part when you are there in person. As far as trying to get things done by patient portal there can diffidently be some work put into that. See I also chose this clinic for my son to have care with Dr. Glass, I have not had a pleasant experience with getting things done in a timely manner with his staff one time I had to call back two maybe three times in a matter of two weeks to get a reply to a question about medication for my son because NO ONE bothered to address it through the patient portal the ball was dropped twice! I feel like when it comes to my sons medication this is not something that I take lightly or should have to wait and repeatedly have to call back about. Other than that I really like the providers that work with my family and will be back in the next two weeks and next month.

I see my psychiatrist here. Best psychiatrist Ive ever seen (and Ive seen a lot of them). The receptionists are always so friendly and personable. Ive never had a problem with insurance/billing and when I needed an emergency prescription refill, they were prompt in addressing it.

Therapists have been actually very good. However the Billing department borders on incompetence. They have stated I did not show up for a appointment twice. Once I was there and had the co-pay to prove it, the other I have a voicemail that proves they canceled. Neither time did they call me back, I had to re-call them the first they no longer have a record for, the second, they stated they will Investigate. Also twice Nystrom canceled appointments at the last minute. No responses from Nystrom until this review. And they have a computer call every appointment, and I have called in advance to see if they were closing for weather just prior to leaving, and they told me they were not, and I get a call halfway there in the snow and they cancelled. No modern technology like selecting notification via texts or secure email, no online scheduling although it is claimed it will be available unless you have a teen ager. If you have custody issues, their legal department is IMPOSSIBLE to work with also, so they ignore the childs well being in that area as well.

I have had multiple sessions cancelled on me at last minute and the “supervisors” have their hands tied and are unable to offer assistance beyond requesting that the counselor goes outside their normal hours.If you are starting out on trying to help yourself stay away as they do not have staff that provides stability. I have been going to this facility for 4 months.

Angie was very professional and attentive. She asked appropriate questions to assist in setting up a future treatment plan. She understood my difficulties and was very empathetic with my concerns, I believe we will be able to work well together.

I have been treated with dignity, compassion and respect. My doctor is a nice guy with a great personality, listens to me and values my opinion, as I his. 2 high fives Joseph Richmond, MD. This clinic uses a lot of telemedicine. Once you get used to it, its really not a big deal at all. Though there is some Christian flavor for those who are interested, Nystrom and Associates utilizes best practices for all people and makes all feel welcomed without any type of agenda.

I would NOT recommend them to have your business.Before setting up my appointment I read the reviews and negativity. I decided to take a leap of faith anyway. My first appointment was cancelled with an option to schedule an appointment for a month later.I never saw a doctor after showing up to my appointment an hour early and having issues with them being able to verify insurance information. In network provider under an individual insurance plan. They didnt pick up the phone to make the call to the insurance company.Another poor review about the billing/insurance department. :-(

This is an incredible place for therapeutic recovery.My Therapist is Maureen Law. She is kind, authentic, and meets you right in the present .Each situation or need whatever that maybe Maureen is there using a package of tools and techniques. I Thank God, for the gifts that Maureen utilizes. as a journey towards and moving through the issues that I am praying and working though inmy life.

I went to Nystrom & Associates for a chemical health evaluation.My counselor was Heidi Hodgins. Heidi was very very professional and courteous. I didnt feel like I was on trial. Felt like I was talking to an old friend. There was no pre-judgement. Heidi, thank you very much, hope to never see you again.

The Billing Department of this finely run organization refuses to refund an over-payment I made on my wifes account. Last week they told me they would request a refund. Sounded good, thank you. Today they knew nothing about a refund for me and besides they told me: ...it is their policy not to refund over-payments. They agree I overpaid, they just wont give my money back. In grade school we called that stealing. Now today if I want a refund my sick wife would have to make the application (not me) which they say takes 4 to 6 weeks. My wife has been seeing a Doctor there for years & hes OK. Their bills never take long to get here and I always pay immediately. I dont know why he would be part of such an unfriendly anti-client organization. Can I give it zero stars?

Smooth how you threatened to call the police on one of your employees you were laying off for speaking her mind because she was upset. Posting on behalf of my husband. His first negative experience happened about a month ago. He checked in and moved into the seperate from check in waiting room. After waiting there for two hours he decided to go back to the check in and ask what was going on. He was told the receptionist never finished checking him in. Of course was told dont worry you wont be charged. A duh I hope not. I was shocked he waited so long to say anything but having gone to the office today myself to see the different waiting rooms its understandable. As someone with high anxiety I would have been way too embarrassed and scared to go back to the other room.My husband let me know I was invited to his next appointment and so today I went along. This is a 30 to 40 minute drive for us. Once in the check in lobby my husband was told he had no appointment. His therapist wasnt even there yet. Turns out when she tried to set the appointment she didnt finalize some steps. Just like the check in guy before.Why are there so many steps in this system if no one there is competent enough to use it!To my husbands point if he doesnt show he gets charged but if they dont show . . .?

My daughter has very high anxiety and social anxiety. Its very difficult to get my daughter out of the house and two appointments I had to cancel two times because of her high anxiety. The last time I cancel the receptionist told me I make it a bill but I would appeal this bill. As I wanted to make another appointment the person that made the appointment said you just put your daughter in the car and drive. I said Im not putting my daughter in the car to jeopardize her safety my safety and other people safety while driving. The person that took my phone call was very rude. I also was a patient here and I will never come back and neither will my daughter. With my son we went through three therapist because they always what leaves the company after 2 months into the therapy. Very disgusted with that. My other son got an arms worker and only three visit and shes leaving for family issues. I feel this company rotates so theyre just like a revolving door I would never recommend this place to anybody. And then back to my daughter she supposed to see a psychiatrist there and she said she will be going to school in a school building but if somebody has anxiety and cannot leave the house and afraid to leave the house how do you get them to school she did not believe in online schools are nothing like that believe in a school building. This place is a joke I would not come here

So Ive tried to work out a payment plan with these guys with no response or call back multiple times 🤯 now they sent me to collections. Id like some feedback.

My Doctor, Susan.D is AMAZING! She listened to me and actually cared about my mental health. She was accepting and very kind to me. The receptionist are extremely kind and listen to me. I went in to an appointment and didnt have the Co-pay amount which is, $80.00 I had no idea my Co-pay was that amount however, they were super understanding and still let me see Susan.DThey told me to wright a check my next appointment. I also, love my counselor Becker! She is very nice and has a very calming presents around her. She has a beautiful soul and truly cares! Ilove this place. Thank you Nystroms & Associates!

After rescheduling my appointments I just recieved a call two weeks before my appointment to tell me that I have to reschedule because they scheduled me wrong..... when I told her i was not happy about this because I have been waiting a very long time and now have to wait another 3 months she proceeded to say “ well it shows here you were scheduled back in October and didn’t show up”.... first of all, that was an insurance issue... second of all why would you even say something like that.... I have been struggling immensely and this news that I would now have to wait until March because of YOUR mistake just made everything worse.... this was so incredibly rude...... and now I don’t know where to turn to get the help that I need..... terrible service....

Felt safe, comforted, and they actually listen and help you. They treat you as a person and not a label. Great place!

Nystrom & Associates left me between a rock and a hard place. I have not seen my doctor for over a year because my out-of-pocket insurance co-pay is $250 and finances have become tight. Then I lost my job. There is a program with the State of Minnesota where disability candidates are given a trial work period as opposed to going through the interview process which many of us find unusually challenging. This would be a tremendous help in getting a job. Nystrom refuses to sign the paperwork that would allow me access to the program without a $250+ office visit. For those without insurance, they indicated the price is $460. I have zero income at this time but they refused to help.

Staff is great. Access to Psychiatry is decent, met a therapist who read me like a book! She is the best Ive ever met

I received mental health care in a timely manner, and I was very pleased with the services. Even all of the people at the service desk were helpful with things like the paperwork.

Buyer Beware.... PROFITS BEFORE PATIENT.... I was looking for help w/ My son with Down Syndrome. They offered services however. After two providers... the finally did let me know that I was looking for something called ABA therapies. Why... would they continue to visit knowing they had nothing to offer. I FEEL AS THOUGH I HAVE LOST TIME NOT HAVING THE RIGHT HELP FOR MY CHILD>PROTECT YOUR CHILD THERAPIST DEVIATED FROM PARENT AGREED GOALS & CHILDS CARE PLAN !! I also had an older child visiting with a provider. The provider told my daughter is she did not bloom now... she would NEVER bloom. Why would any one let alone a trained counselor tell a black & white concrete thinking child with an identified delay... if it wasnt now... and it had better be now... or it would NEVER happen. WRONG !! Nystroms has done more damage than good now.INSURANCE FRAUD... And then there is the question which remains to be answered about the hours billed to insurance for visits in the home with their supervising social worker who was indeed not out to the house.

I can sincerely say Ive never had a worst experience with a doctors office in my life. We actually gave this place a second chance because the quality assurance person who responded to our first review was professional and communicated with us compassionately and in a timely way. We thought that meant there would be an effort to mend our already fragile relationship with them but the second chance was an even worse experience. Instead of mending it was exacerbated by surly staff and doctor. In our experience, this place has NO regard for the vulnerable group of people they are responsible for treating and thinks only of their policies and themselves. Wow.... This office has taken up far too much of my time and energy. Please stay clear. There is a reason you are able to get an appointment here when every other place is full.

I would give this place a zero stares if I could. These people are not help full and only care about the money that they get. If they cared about a person they wouldnt treat people disrespectful.I have found somewhere more respectful and understanding and support of.I wouldnt recommend anyone going to these people.

This place is really a piece of work! From the date of service in January, I started inquiring on the status of the insurance submission. Even though a person pays quite a bit for medical insurance, it seems that Nystrom refuses to submit some items through insurance. I repeatedly left messages for billing personnel - who never call me back. Finally, I get a call from a person who states they are managing my account and will do some checking. He left me a voice mail to call him, so I left him a message, guess what - no call back! Now, the billing department tells me I need to write a letter to their QA department. It is August - I think this could have been mentioned in February as an option. Do not recommend at all - customer service is crap.

They will skew your assessment to try and benefit their company. Not thorough, nor do they listen to what you tell them. Additionally, if you need to get something from them lik documentation, they will give you the run around. Don’t waste your time or money on them.

Im So confused by the negative (& kinda pissed off actually by the) reviews /what people are saying on here!! I started going to Nystrom for ADT (adult day treatment /group therapy) then when I was done with that -& since I liked the people there so much & felt comfortable there, I started seeing my psychologist, my amazing nutritionist, & my AHRMS worker from there. The receptionists have Always been friendly, kind and as helpful as possible to me. Im also able to get my medications at the Genoa Pharmacy located there which is super convenient.

My first psychiatrist at this location was not a great fit; I asked to be switched to a different one, and was transferred to someone else promptly. My current psychiatrist is wonderful, really listens, and accepts my input. She puts all other mental health professionals I have seen to shame.When my insurance decided to randomly deny my medication for about a month, I was given samples of my meds to get by with (this saved my life, just fyi). When my medical taxi took me to the wrong location and left me there, they canceled my appointment with no fee.It saddens me to see so many negative reviews. These guys have really helped me. Staff has always been friendly and efficient, and they have worked to help me get to a better place in my life. The folks at Nystrom are dependable, kind, and sweet. Would absolutely recommend.

I REALLY dont understand all of the horrible review about this place.Ive gone here two different periods in my life, for about a year when I was 16 and currently for a little over a year, and I cant say Ive had a better experience. My Psychiatrist when I was 16 was patient with me even though I was having horrible reactions to pretty much every med she would try to give me.My current therapist Karie is awesome, she has been helping me a lot with anxiety and other of lifes troubles. And when I had problems with the first psychiatrist that I tried when starting meds up they were absolutely gracious even though I started bawling in the appointment room. They right away started me up with a new person who is also amazing.The welcome guy is the best, he seems to really enjoy remembering people, and given the number of people who must go through that door, that certainly is a feat.Ive never had any of the problems that other people seem to have experienced about insurance, and Im actually a bit weirded out that so many people seem to have had that kind of issue, because Ive never seen people in the office look unhappy with the staff.all in all, keep up the good work :D

This was my first visit to Nystrom as I was referred by a friend. The provider I saw listened to what I shared and had good feedback for me. He was clear at the beginning of our conversation of the process that we would take during my visit and at the end we discussed the next steps to take. He gave me a choice to try new medicine but also respected that I desired to continue on my current medication at this time to see how well my sleep hygiene, diet and exercise commitment would work with my current meds before changing meds.

Very nice at check in, Seems like a wonderful place until you get halfway through the appt and youre faulted due to other health issues and meds youre on. They dont look at patients on a case by case basis rather they let hype dicate what care you will receive. Who cares if these drugs help or not with anxiety or panic and cause other side effects as long as they dont have to RX a scary med that has proven to work for someone who has never had a history of abuse or addiction in the many years they have tried different things. Its like this to me, with PTSD and your in a complete panic mode at the time. Nothing else helps from the tool box so now you know ypu only have one option and thats a Benzo to rescue you from that dread and awful feeling, you wouldnt withhold a inhaler from a asthmatic who couldnt breathe now would you? Its a shame they have let poltics and CDC dictate how they treat patients rather then decide on a case by case basis. It was all I felt they truly cared about. Not the fact I was there for a Cancer reaccurance and the anxiety that has came with it.

I had no issues with nystrom for 4 years of being a patient there, until recently I got transferred to a new psychiatrist assistant. That person made me go through hell and back so that I could be consider a patient thats healthy enough to treat. They told me my medication was safe to be on if I get or am pregnant. When I told them I was pregnant they told me to get off the medication immediately because its dangerous for the pregnancy. They tried sending me back to the Emily program with no proof that my vitals werent dier enough for such a intense program. When I refused, nystrom dropped me for services because of behavior problems, and not being workable. If I fall into a phychosis episode or suffer a stroke which is the side effect of being off the dangerous medication they put me on. I will be seeking legal action for their negligence. I do not recommend Nystrom services for anyone who suffering from more then a slight cold.1 star review from a patient that been there almost 5 years.

My daughter was critically injured when she was dragged under a pick up in May of 2016. We have been going to Nystrom for therapy since 8/2016. My daughter has a good connection with her therapist, and I am really happy with my Therapist Tyler at the Coon Rapids location. Tyler actually listened to me, and lets me process my emotions. All the bad reviews are disturbing to read, we have had nothing but good luck.

Went to this office once and my experience was so terrible I decided to never go back. They told me to arrive early to fill out a questionaire, once I arrived they said the apt time took that into account so after filling it out in 15 minutes I waited an hour to see the doctor. I did not like this doctor at all... Upon checking out I asked about insurance and they said I was good to go. 6 months later I received a bill from a collections agency that I owed them $600 for my visit there. I had never been contacted by them regarding a payment owed. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Difficult to obtain information and help; slow to respond and didn’t lay out a clear path of therapy.

Very professional. Kasey was a pleasure to work with. I got an appointment quickly and convenient to me. The only negative was the check-in receptionist. She seemed put off by having me stand & sign the plethora of forms she put in front of me. I guess everyone is entitled to a bad day??

My daughter had been seeing the same psychologist there for 3 years until one day we went to schedule her regular appointment and were told she was no longer working there, they also said she should have told us but that was not the case. Totally unprofessional, not a good way to gain trust from a child. They care more about money than helping.

BRIAN NYSTORM: I call on you to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY at your current clinics rather than focusing on expansion. TRAIN ANYONE ANSWERING YOUR PHONES on de-escalation and crisis handling. YOU CAN DO IT FREE USING YOUR PROFESSIONAL STAFF TO train them, just a few hours, a short seminar. THIS WAS THE FOCUS OF MY COMPLAINT when speaking with your quality control department. I UNDERSTAND YOU DO NOT OFFER CRISIS SERVICES: HOWEVER, your support staff will encounter situations in which they will need these skills. COMMUNITY CRISIS SERVICES can help to a certain degree, but the responsibility for Nystrom clients rolls back to YOU. Im glad to see you look happy in your photo, when i viewed it, i felt like you were laughing cuz your pockets are so full.

This is a VERY scary place! Lots of unethical and dangerous practices by abusive and uncaring therapists, psychiatrist, & other staff. They did not listen to me or help me one bit, but actually made things much worse. When I complained to quality assurance about the serious illegal & unprofessional behaviors of the staff working with me, they completely ignored me & were just as disrespectful & abusive as they covered up for each others egregious wrong-doing. Stay as far away from them as possible!

Doing DBT at one of there locations I fell it’s all ready very helpful.

My experience did not go well at all. Because of the scarce availability of mental health practitioners in this state, I was left with no option but to wait several months or drive an hour out of my way here to see someone about getting back on medication, which to be fair is a controlled substance (Vyvanse). I had stupidly made the decision to go off this medication for the sake of an ex girlfriend a year ago.I have taken this medication for several years with no problem, but the prescribing CNP had moved to a different practice and was booked out months ahead. Because I have been in a CD program before, the psychiatrist I saw flat out refused to even entertain the idea of prescribing me this medication, despite ny telling her it was the only thing that helped me function. To be clear, I never had a problem taking the medication in the way prescribed, and as before I also went to the CD program at the insistence of the same ex, otherwise she would leave (which she ended up doing anyway).She asked if I had tried other therapies and medications (both of which I have, several times), and not only refused to listen to what I said and then declined to write me a prescription, she also suggested I would just abuse the medication and then circled back to suggesting I try talk therapy and antidepressants, despite what I had just moments earlier told her about my experiences with both.I paid $463 out of pocket for this.If you want to be treated like you are a junky when trying to get back on a prescription medication and then be marginalized and dismissed, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the time and money and go see a GP, which is what I am going to do from now on.0/10

Ive been going here for over a month now for therapy drug counseling and other services and Ive had nothing but great experience here and all the staff has always been warm and welcome to me. I would tell everyone who needs addiction counseling or any other mental health services to go to Nystrom in New Brighton

Horrible, greedy, uncaring psychiatric mill. All they care about is how many patients they can get in and out for more money. The psychiatrist I saw after an extremely traumatic time for myself and my family asked about it and I got choked up since it was recent and was still processing it. He probed and poked and went and asked unnecessary questions that made me cry most of the session (which was over a tv connection, sorry this isnt a rural area, I expect my psychiatrist to be there in person) and he told me in all of his years his practice, no one has ever cried most of their appointment. Umm, but when you dig at a fresh wound I said I didnt want to continue talk about further at the time and he didnt stop, youre possibly going to get crying.Horrible experience and I tell everyone looking for a psychiatrist or therapist, mental health care on general, to not go to Nystrom & Associates under any circumstance. I give information for other places.

Dr 1 over medicated me .Dr 2 and 3 under medicated leading me to the hospital .Staff is slow and under educated to deal with a community with mental illness .I fired Dr 3 .For incompetence and not listening to my needs. Thats my experiences. Good luck with this group.

Its a pure money grabber. Yes, theyre running a business. But one would like to see some compassion complementing enrichment in its mission statement.
