He works efficiently and can easily explain computers to novices like me.My laptop had a repeated problem of crashing and stating that my hard drive was not installed. Mr. Carter helped me clear out my hard drive and move many of my files to an external drive to prevent future crashes. Mr Carter is very good at what he does. He made short work of my faulty hard drive and had my laptop back within an hour or two. When I got it back it was faster and more responsive than it was the day I pulled it from the box. Don’t hesitate to call him up for repairs or custom work. My HP Laptop was freezing up and I looked on Google to see who could repair it as I use my PC for business. I called Jimmy and he said to come to his office (which is his home). This guy knew exactly what was wrong and how to repair it. He did all this while I watched and waited. He explained what was going on and how to fix it. He also backed up my entire hard drive and sold me an awesome backup computer as my business cant run without a computer. Dont try online as they will hack your PC where it cant be repaired. The service here was fantastic. I called to ask for help and was told to come right on down. While the website said the computer would be fixed in 5 minutes.... it took 10 which I had zero problems with at all! Jimmy may share the name of one of the worst presidents in American history but his IT abilities put the other Carter to shame. I received the blue screen of death and did everything I could to resolve the issue, but to no avail.Called Jimmy and he immediately took my hard drive in so he could save all the data. I took an old 500 GB drive for him to use, which turned out to be bad when he checked it. So, he looked around and gave me 1 TB drive with the data I needed.Jimmys the man and maybe if you positively comment on his flag, he will give you a hard drive as well.

I cried for help mid-morning. Without hesitation, Mr. Carter reassured me he could get my computer working. Bring it by now, he said. I didnt need an appointment or anything. By early afternoon he gave me back a computer that operates like new...actually it is running better than the day I purchased it. I would not hesitate to use his service again.

Great service I stopped by his shop thinking my cpu was running to hot and with in 5 minutes he got all the dust out of my machine and then showed me the software I was using to read my cpu was wrong and he put a new software on there for me so I could see the real temperature of my cpu. Brought my laptop in because of an error message that told me that a cooling fan was not working properly. Took it to Jimmy and he checked it out on the spot and determined that the cooling fan was working and that the error message was not correct. He also did some further diagnostics and told me what could be changed to improve the laptop speed. But in the end he recommended doing nothing except deleting some unneeded programs and wait until a real issue and address all of them at that time. My laptop started beeping and giving me different error messages out of nowhere last week and I needed to get it looked at to see if it could be fixed or if I would need a new one. I went back and forth between bringing it to Geek Squad or trying to find someone local and I searched for a local computer repair service and Jimmy was the first business to pop up. I called him and he told me to bring it right over! I went with my mom and Jimmy went to work right away taking it apart to see if the hard drive and memory were still good and to see what could be wrong with it. He told us that if he couldnt fix it that he wouldnt charge us for the visit, unlike Geek Squad where they would have charged me $100 to tell me that my laptop was dead and I needed a new one. My hard drive and memory were in great shape but my laptops motherboard died and it couldnt be repaired. Good news was that Jimmy also sells upgraded laptops when he has them and offered to sell me the last one he had for around and he could still the memory card from my old laptop to upgrade it to 8GB Ram.This new laptop has a 250 GB solid state hard drive and turns on and loads Windows super fast. Any computer that might be comparable at a store would cost more than double than what Jimmy charged me! In addition, Jimmy copied all my documents and music from my old hard drive to the new computer and set it all up for me with Microsoft Office 2016 Suite included for free with the license code included. I also bought a case for my old hard drive from him and he showed me how to format it, so I could keep it as an external hard drive to store my pictures, music, and other important data I want to keep off my laptop. He said if anything happens to the laptop to bring it back to him and hell take care of it for me!I really appreciate that he saw me on such short notice yesterday and that I was able to get a great machine from him! I was once told: The bitterness of poor service lingers long after the sweetness of best price! So, service trumps price in my world. That said, their pricing tends to be on the lower end of the spectrum. So the value is excellent.Jim and Ken are very professional, polite and responsive. I have used several different computer experts and have never dealt with anyone who was as genuine as Jim and Ken are. I will say I know next to nothing about computers which is why I rely on the experts. Overall, we had a really good experience here. My laptop stopped turning on one day and they determined the motherboard was shot. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done, but they ended up not charging us since all they did was open up the laptop. They were also great about telling us some of the options we had available. Definitely recommend going here with your tech problems!

I called Jimmy and told him I had just bought a Laptop for my wife, and I needed him to take the info off of one laptop and put it on the other one. He said that he would do that for me. I took the two laptops to him, the new (used) laptop and the almost new one also. He took the hard drives out of them and tested them. He told me and showed me that they tested bad. He told me that he would put another hard drive in the new (used) one and set it up. When he got it installed the new (used) one would not work as it did not have but 1 gig of memory in it and it was so slow it was not worth doing. I told him that we would just put the new one back together and I would do something with the new (used) one. He said that he would put another hard drive in the new one and he did. When I started to pay him he said that there was no charge for all that he done for me. I could not believe that there was no charge for what he done. All these 5 star ratings are real! Somethings arent too good to be true. I was pleased with my excellent service! Within one hr my 2 computers were fixed. After going to three local computer services, nobody could fix my computers. James and Ken mean what they say-they told me on the phone they could fix my computers and they meant it. They enjoy problem solving. In addition, they are fun and like to joke. I cant wait to visit them again and drop off some gifts.

Ken and Jimmy are both just terrific! They are always answering the phone, walk me through glitches usually solving them immediately. They have come to the office to service our PC - even switching it from windows 8 to 8.1 to make our life simpler.Most importantly, they are always there when i call, cheerful, friendly and definitely the best priced and best computer IT people out there. Jimmy and Ken did a fantastic job helping me get my files and software from my old dead machine. They are a great couple guys to talk to and are very knowledgeable in what they do. Ken went the extra mile to get a difficult software back working and I am so thankful I found these two!

This guy is top notch. I had problems with 3TB and 2TB hard drives. These drives had a lot of info on them that took me years to collect. I was given some very ambiguous quotes by some others without having even discussed what the issues with the drives were. Jim was very straight forward and when I arrived today, he went straight to work and had diagnosed the issue in minutes and then went to work putting the hard drives into new enclosures, which was done in about an hour. I brought them home and they are working perfectly.... whew! Losing Hard drives is like losing part of your life. Took a lot of stress away and was very affordable.Very impressed with Jim Carter and most definitely will have him help me with any IT issues I have in the future. I will also be referring friends to him with their issues. I fully endorse him to anyone reading this. You wont be disappointed. Oh yeah, I discovered Jim on Thumbtack.

Service is very important to me. I’ve been to Jimmy’s shop several times over the last few months. Each time has been a pleasure with quick service and knowledge to fix any problem. A few times they even fixed my computer while I waited. The crew there is very helpful. Their prices are at least half of what I would have paid at BestBuy or places like that. They even gave me great advice on advertising my business on the web… We never lost any files/ information/ pictures on computers that crashed. When they are finished all the information is still on your computer and it works perfectly. I highly recommend !!!

One of the most genuine and intelligent computer wizards I have ever met!! I found him on Thumbtack and I am so glad I did. He was willing to change out my dead hard drive for a sub par one supplied by HP. However, he offered me an education into various options and, along with some key questions, was able to help me select a much better hard drive for my system. In less than 8 hours, he had replaced my dead drive with the new one and had my laptop doing things I could have only dreamed were possible. He provided me key actions NOT to take in order to preserve my new drive, one of which is not to close the lid with the laptop running. I had been guilty of this as my computer took forever to boot. Not any more. It loads up immediately. What more could you want?I will never consider anyone else for my computing needs. Jimmy is a wonderful man and serves unselfishly in his desire to make technology work for everyone. He truly exemplifies the Good Servant mantra in his dealings. Could not ask for a better person with which to do business.

Jimmy is the MAN! He fixed my slow AIO Dell computer by upgrading my internal hd to a solid state device. He also upgraded my operating system and Microsoft office to the latest and greatest version. I learned a lot just sitting there watching him work. It took him about 5 minutes to replace the hd. He also gave me a free external HD for being one of his customers. I hope it’s a while before I see him again but the next time I have computer issues I’m going back to see Jimmy.

My laptop computer charger would not charge the battery. Thought it was the mother board connection found out it was only the charger which Jimmy had one in stock and fixed my computer in just a few minutes. Also cleaned my computer. I have known Jimmy for over 10 years. Over those 10 years Jimmy has provided me with not only technical support but hardware support as well. I have purchased computers, which were the highest quality, from Jimmy but asked him to service them as well. Recently I had computer issues and turned to Jimmy. OK, I concede that Jimmy is my Dad. But what a Dad! He let me build and then gave me nine computers for my classroom. (Which changed my teaching and learning) He gave an Elementary school teacher two computers. He also gave a computer to the Christian School at South Point. I went with him to help pick out a new computer which he bought for his preacher out of his own pocket when his machine was knocked off of his desk and broken. I work with him on weekends This month he donated two $1,000.00 machines to churches in SC. (Hes an 83 year old retired Science teacher) (Veteran of the 18th Airborne Corps. at Ft Bragg) I am proud to call him Dad. He is the best role model in my life. He lives his life in service to others. And thats a life worth living!

I am an inside sales associate and I use my computer at home for many things, such as inventory management, order processing, and expediting, along with normal personal tasks. With this in mind when my old computer went down I was dead in the water. I didnt want to get a computer that was going to beef up some billionaires bank account. I had only been in town for a few days and my laptop broke on me so I took it to Best Buy to get it fixed. I talked to several people in the geek squad and they all told me that my computer could not be repaired, but they wanted to charge me $80 to send it off with no guarantees of it being fixed and wait 2-4 weeks for it to come back.I asked the young lady that was if there were any other computer repair places in town and she said yes, but I had already had been to the the ones she mentioned and they could not fix my laptop either.She went to the back of the repair shop and came back with a print out of a computer repair place called Computers-ITPro. I took my laptop to them and got the warmest welcome Ive got since Ive been in town. The gentlemen were very nice and professional. They treated me as if I was an old friend instead of stranger they had never met before. I told them about my problem and they accepted the challenge of fixing what everybody else said it could not be fixed.They kept my unit and a few days later (they had to order a power pin) I got the call that my laptop was fixed and operational. Not only did they keep their word about fixing my laptop, they did it in a matter of days and they did it for a fraction of the price.I would recommend these wonderful guys to any and every one. If you have a computer problem, dont waste your time taking it to the so called professionals, bring it to proven professionals that will treat you like a friend instead of just another transaction.

We heard about Jimmy and Ken from friends at Baileys Glen in Cornelius, NC. I will tell you up front is that their service does not come cheap. But I have also learned that you most always get what you pay for.Jimmy put a new hard drive in my Dell laptop. He made it better than new! Ken came to the house and put in a new modem and wireless router. Everything works better than ever.They do quality work and we got what we paid for, a job well done.
